Really missed a map. Had to hit the hint button more than we wanted, but all in all a very graphic game. We didn’t know to collect feathers until we missed the first three and could not go back to collect them. Still playing, but we’re not a gamer and feel totally lost most of the time. Please add a map to help us novice players. For us, it’s just ok. Key West Jessa.

Enjoyed the game but the rocking screen was very annoying.

We love the entire Dark Realm series because the developers have really made an effort to create an immersive world. We appreciate their creativity and attention to small details, such as characters breaking the 4th wall and manipulating parts of our screen or the game controls; we also love it when we attempt to use an object in a scene and can watch our attempt play out and fail (instead of nothing happening at all). These details are above and beyond what we’ve seen in other hidden-object games and show the thoughtfulness of the developers. Whats more, we feel invested in the characters due to continuity throughout the series (and great voice actors). Yes, we occasionally skip puzzles, but theyre supposed to be challengingthats the pointand Im grateful for custom settings so we can choose to skip or not as we like. If you want an experience thats more than the usual click-click-clicking, we highly recommend the Dark Realm series.

Please make more Mad Head Games and Big Fish!

We really enjoyed playing both of the Dark Realms games and hope Madhead and BFG continue the series.

Be prepared to be entertained. Beautiful graphics and great storyline… It keeps getting better as you progress through the game. Buy now while it’s $3.99. This game you’ll want to play several times.

Mad Head games is always unique in their storyline & game play. Found this one a little difficult to follow at times. However, the graphics, characters, voiceovers, hidden object scenes & puzzles were done very differently and well thought out. This game won’t be everybody’s taste, however we appreciate the originality and attention to detail that they put into their games. Very late in reviewing this as we replayed it – due to the fact that Big Fish let us down with no new release – just a sale on previously released & previously purchased games for the majority of us. We feel this was a Very Bad move on their part as we all have come to expect at least 2 new releases a week. What is worse is that Sable Maze : Forbidden Garden has been listed for days on their home page as a new release – which incidentally said was not available in the U.S. Store! Not Cool – Now we see that as of today they have removed it. What’s up with that? Back to review of game – Give it a try and we think that you will enjoy it. KdBoots.

We love these types of games! Theyre our favorite… We cannot believe this has 3.9!

Love the story, grapics, videography and games. Great job!

We had fun with this game – several times, and it’s complexity made each time a new game.

We love how the game started. Love the art work. Displayed a little differently Havent gotten very far into the game but so far we like what we have seen.

Enjoyed main game very enjoyable. But bonus round would not play beyond using shield to defend myself… Screen keeps backing up to previous screen. Nothing would work.

It’s a continuation of the adventures of Valera (although you don’t have to have played the previous games to follow along). As always, you are fighting to save your kingdom and your friend Nathaniel has your back. He gifts you with his special bow and arrow (you pick up additional arrows with special functions along the way) – each time you use the fetch arrow, you have to solve a "free the blocks" puzzle which starts out pretty easy and gets a little more complicated each time. Typical beautiful graphics from Mad Head games; we got caught up in the story fairly quickly and oh our – the demo certainly ended in a cliff hanger. It was an automatic buy for us, just to find out what happens next. Map is annoyingly under the menu as opposed to a separate item accessible directly from the game screen. Another small annoyance is the need to do the same thing multiple times (i.e. To unscrew four screws, you have to keep bringing up the screwdriver from your inventory to each screw – ugh). There are Hidden feathers in each scene (icon in the corner shows where you still need to find one). Inventive HOGs with morphing objects in each HOG. Available today: Kingdom of Aurelia: Mystery of Poisoned Dagger (Absolutist ltd) – no trial, $4.99 (4.2 stars, Sept. ’16) – we’ll probably wait until they release the version with the free demo. Upcoming Games from Big Fish Games: (# stars is average review on BigFishGames. Com for the PC or Mac version, date is the day the game was first released on any platform – usually PC or Mac) Dark Parables: Swan Princess and the Dire Tree (3.8 stars, Eipix, Jul. ’16)

Great game! Really pretty art work, and unique storyline.

Games not like they used to be.

Boring game with mediocre graphics.

We found the instructions for the mini games so vague we had to skip at least half of them. Im almost done and just skipped one. Dont solve them for us but at least show us how the frigging game works.

Like others we enjoyed the game but thought there were too few hidden object scenes and too many multilevel puzzles. Imagine our surprise when checking out the Extras to discover at least eight of what we thought were puzzles were actually HOSs. It’s an interesting use of hidden object scenes, and they were more challenging, but it still left us feeling a bit let down. We really enjoyed the HOSs we knew were HOSs. The music was good and contributed to the gameplay. So why not a higher rating? Well, we felt good when we solved the puzzles (except a couple when we realized we needed to solve a third version), but the thought of doing it all again . . . No, thank you. Still it’s a good game and we’re glad we played.

We really enjoyed this story, and the main part of the game was entertaining and fun. The bonus game, however, was another story, and we don’t even think we will finish it. You have to match shapes on a leather drum skin, but the entire field is not visible at the same time. You click on one and if you happen to touch one that doesn’t match (very easily done since the field moves in the exact opposite direction from where you direct it to go) you lose the first one. Unnecessarily frustrating.

Izzyoc and KimTwilight raved about this game. We usually agree with them. Not this time, sadly! We have a new teammate. Please extend a warm welcome to Minipaws Volunteer. This player is kind-hearted and has a very mature perspective on the bullying situation. Note to Kamen Rider: how do you know that most games will not be playable when the next iOS update transpires? Games always tell you when they require an iOS of a certain number. It has ALWAYS been that way! We just want you to know that we emailed BigFish EVERY DAY until the Puppet Show debacle was solved, and we were first to play it. We let all gamers know it was fixed. So how can our team help? On to the game. Although it had a lot of positive features, we were bored to the point of mindless tedium! We used to love Mad Head games, such as Nevertales, but we detest this series. We do not like a map that is not easily accessible. The HO scenes, although varied, were torture on our eyes, and we didn’t even try to find the morphs. The puzzles were not to our liking, because they were mostly boring rotational stuff. It was not a lengthy game, even with bonus adventure. This game had a lot of dialogue, and felt more like an interactive book. This game did have some redeeming qualities. There was an excellent map, which provided instantaneous transport to other locations. Inventory was labeled and interactive and there were complex items to assemble. You had to think outside the box. The graphics, although not spectacular, were beautiful and enjoyable. We liked the different arrows you had to use, and the mini-game slide puzzle associated with it. In the bonus adventure there is a magical branch. We just did not really enjoy the game. Our review will stand at 3 stars for average! We don’t want to say this was not possibly a good game, just that we myself didn’t like playing it! Lynxie sends to the team! On to the new parables. If we don’t like it that will be 4 games in a row we don’t like, and then we need to worry!

We agree with some of the other reviews here but we also disagree with some that we usually am right in line with. We did not enjoy this game. We usually enjoy mad head games but this was very short and frustrating to us. Some puzzles were very clunky and didn’t work well while others had 3 levels to pass which irritate us for some reason. One like that is ok but there were quite a few. Just give us one average difficulty level please. Makes us think they do that to add time to their game which seemed short anyways. We skipped several. Maybe we’re getting picky in our old age. Someone complained there’s to much story. We happen to really enjoy that in games if it’s a good story. This one wasn’t bad. Another complained of not many hos but we felt opposite. If you’re looking for games mainly focused on HO’s there are thousands like that on the App Store. It seems 10 new ones a day are added! Overall I’d say you need to play this one yourself and form your own opinion. The reviews are very mixed, some loved it while others just did not. Not bad but not great either in our opinion. And that’s what it comes down to here is opinion.

We dont like the way the map is set up. Does not allow us to pick up gold leaf easily in each scene. The instructions are not well explained on strategy guide forcing us to skip mini games.

Didn’t care for this one.. Way too much character dialogue and frustrating puzzle mechanics made for a boring game.. One we couldn’t wait for it to end. This is our third review on this game, we continue to campaign for a DTE free zone.. Where the AppStore review process can be used as intended. Thanks!

We normally love MadHead games but we found this one to be oddly tedious. We didn’t find the storyline to be particularly engaging or interesting, however, the main issue for us was with the tedious puzzles. Three levels to complete puzzles was annoying, we skipped many once we hit the third level. It didn’t help that many of the puzzles didn’t work well. Bonus chapter was particularly bad. Several HO’s were also tedious.

We thought there were quite a few places in this game that were not intuitive enough so you knew what to do next. Had to use guide several times. Also map was supposed to show where tasks needed to be completed and it did not. Only showed where you were and what was completed. Frustrating.

Not very exciting and slow. Just want to finish the game since we paid for it and move on to another. Seems to be problems also.

This game is way over the top trying to be theatrical. We like the game but the amount of cut scenes is crazy. Maybe these games could be made cheaper if there was less backdrop drama.

The graphic are great and the story line but we have this one thing we dont like and that is the comic book, split screen and the different way it operates…. Just a little confusing. Too much going on in one picture.

This thing is a mess. Controls dont work. Puzzles are way too easy, and the hidden object scenarios provide clues that are nonsensical. We dont know how to got high rating from other users unless they like looking at the scenery more than they enjoy playing. We gave this a chance because it was on sale, now Im sad we wasted $2.99.

Did not like this game at all! After 5 minutes we gave up, dry co fusing.

Big fish put this on sale for a reason, apparently, but if they want people to stay faithful to their games, they should really get rid of crap like this entirely.

We just started the game but we’re sick of it asking for a review ever 2 minutes…

Ugh. We couldn’t even get past 5 minutes of this nonsense. You are watching a poor, wanna be anim " movie". It’s really bad. Don’t let these quasi professional critics influence you.

We deleted this game after only 10 minutes! Slow to respond and quite boring! We love most hidden object games but this one is not worth our time much less our money!

This game is very poorly developed and lacks the flow of newer games. The feel of gameplay along with the appearance of the environment leads one to believe this is either an old game, or a new title using an old game engine. Dont bother. Incidentally, we have not found anything that explains why nearly all of these hidden object storyline games have a female protagonist. We get it, the older games contained nearly exclusively male lead characters, but is the solution to bias merely bias in the opposite direction?

For us, that’s a breaking point. We set our options and turned off the sound. But it came on anyway. Duh! It also won’t let you turn the time for hints, and skip to less than 15 seconds. Sorry, nut when we decide we want a hint or to skip, we already thought we through. We don’t need the game telling us we have to wait!

Like many recent HOP games, this one is more of a console game and relies heavily on movies. The few ‘hidden objects’ were multiple ingredients used in making potions, such as 3 mint leaves. Mini games were badly constructed & not intuitive. Users that play HOP games usually want just that, well designed ‘hidden objects’ that are an integral part of an interesting storyline.

We are very disappointed. This was a great game until getting to the prison cell. There is no option in freeing Nathaniel from his cuffs and no skip. When asking for a hint, the feathers just go limp. We are literally stuck in prison. We would like a refund. This is our second Big Fish game we are having problems with this weekend.

In order to get through the game we had to skip half (only small exaggeration) the puzzles as they were either unresponsive, would not complete after being solved or the instructions were incomprehensible. We finished the game only to get stuck in the bonus chapter. Better games to spend your money on.
