DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE IOS AND PC VERSIONS

In order to make the iOS port as playable as possible I needed to make some small changes to the game.

In PC version you have a lantern, but porting this over to iOS brought too many problems. I decided to leave the lantern out from the iOS version and instead expand the environmental lighting. While doing so I also added more color which makes the iOS port more pretty to look at.

To have as smooth experience as possible I capped the iOS version to 30 frames per second. However, DISTRAINT has a very little motion so this is barely even noticeable.

We thought distraint was going to be a lot scarier than it ended up being but we were enraptured by the overall story. It was difficult to put our phone down when we first started playing.

This is a great old school puzzle horror game. It has a great creepy vibe, from the music to the (yes even in 2D) graphics. It’s exactly as the developer described it, and it’s only $.99! Hopefully not many people will feel bad about "wasting" their whole $.99 if they don’t happen to like the game… As for us, it’s worth the $1 for a couple hours of great gaming! Great job Dev! We like supporting games that are unique, and you have a great unique one here! Please keep it up, we’ll be looking for more from you!

Quick bug! Right after we talk to granny and go to the elevator and click A the game freezes and there is no way to continue. It seems to Happen off and on but breaks the game. Other then that perfect game we cant wait to play your next one. Would love a trilogy of some Sort based off this one.

We loved this game. The story was very nice quite depressing but cool. Im downloading again to play since its been a while. We would say this is one of the best mobile games we’ve played.

Tw// Suicide (in the game) This game is really good, the ending hit us pretty hard too bad the second game is paid otherwise we wouldnt downloaded that too.

We downloaded this expecting nothing but it turn out to be a pretty nice/cool horror game. We might buy the deluxe version and the second part to see how it concludes!

Best 2D horror game we have ever played and actually enjoyed! The story was well done and the graphics are really cool! Two thumbs up!

Sort of relaxing and sort of creepy but totally love this game . Clever.

Honestly this is our first time writing a review and its much deserved. This game was really good, eye opening, and tricky. Our mind was so blown and we had to be very thoughtful. Even in the frustration of not knowing what to do sometimes, we still never thought about deleting it like we normally do. Our one complaint is.. We wish it didnt end, but all good things must come to a.. Well end, THE end.

Who cares about the language? Its not overly filthy at all. This is by far our favorite game and we hope to see more <3.

DISTRAINT may not be the best at making you jump, but its great at putting you on edge. Once things started getting interesting, we were pretty uncomfortable from how everything was going so… Normally. And then theyd throw in a little scary thing or two, always at just the right time. This game is great at creeping us out, but Im a little skittish, so… Yeah.

This has some horror elements, but overall we would say it is far more haunting. After awhile the story starts to drag down your soul. The music is fantastic, the characters were well done, and the puzzles were the right amount of tricky (for us – but we’re kinda lazy, we’re just in it for the story). There were slight grammar errors once you got further into the game, but the spelling was fine, as you said. If you want someone to touch up your sentences really quick so it’s easier for people to stay in character, let us know. We won’t charge, this was a lovely game and we’re willing to help.

We love the app theres just one thing when we found the dog it wouldnt let us tell the other dude that we found the dog when we did finally find the dog. Why is that?

We highly recommend this game! We’re surprised the price is so low. It’s a poignant story about greed and a man’s regrets, told in the horror genre. Nice pixel graphics, spooky atmosphere, and easy to use touchscreen controls. We have an older iPad (third gen) and there were no problems playing it whatsoever, either. Fans of The Last Door and similar adventure games featuring a good story and casual puzzle challenges should give it a try!

We hope more and more apps come out like this, it’s something different but really fun to play. Great job!

It wasn’t scary but it was definitely a creepy game. We didn’t put our phone down once we started playing. We had to know what happened. Keep up the good work!

As a big fan of atmospheric games, we can’t recommend this game enough. It checks off all the tenets we require in a great game in its genre. Great story,? Check! Great atmosphere? Check! Unique art style? Check! Great characters? Check! Great dialogue and character interaction? Check.. You get the picture. If you’re a fan of atmospheric horror, you owe it to yourself to get this game. And if you’re not a fan of the genre, this right here is your gateway. We hope to see more from this dev in the future.

We remember playing this game long long ago and it was the first mobile horror game that had us so intrigued with the story, revisiting again now it truly holds up superbly we highly recommend if you come across this game.

We were pretty impressed with this game. We have a hard time with games where youre constantly dying because you loose a lot of progress. This game has a really good story line and we enjoy the unique graphics.

We’re am up to the ‘flash lantern/color change thing’ that blocks certain doorways with Mushrooms, and we admit we’re frustrated. But we love the soundtrack, the strange mix of horror and creepy atmosphere, but also mystery and drama, with a decent storyline. We’re not sure of the original language but this translation to English seems good, there are no distracting grammar issues. Looking forward to finishing it if we have the patience to get through this part. Great price, and love the retro graphics. Not TOO pixelated like many games do now. Thanks Update: Aaaaand … Wow that was bleak and sad. But, it was very unique: not totally horror, because it’s based on a regular humdrum human life. We thought the blend of normality and creepy surreal feelings was done really well. But, yes, it’s depressing, but obviously that’s the point. We thought the use of colors to switch things were interesting but got really annoying in the hotel. Definitely different! Thanks.

We enjoyed this game for a number of reasons: original and logical puzzles, interesting and believable storyline, a couple good puns, and a layer of creepiness over everything that happens. It took us 4-5 hours to play through and we had to look up two solutions online, but we loved the overall feel and experience. We disagree with the reviewer that said this game was a claim about "capitalism" and "eminent domain" and whatever; the game has a message but it’s more about how your mental state reacts when you live your life in conflict with your personal moral values. We definitely recommend giving this game a shot!

What should we do when there are many grannies walking around us and one of them is cryingI could do nothing in this step except walked toward right constantlythere is nothing to press to communicate with hera little confusion to non-English speaker.

Pros: original story, handcrafted art. Cons: puzzles are mostly trial and error, walking is way too slow and unavoidable. We kept playing due to the suspense and dont regret our time spent, but sometimes we almost wanted to quit out of boredom.

Not a bad game for the amount of time it took to create it. Our biggest problem is that the Steam price is unreasonable in comparison to the iOS price for a game that can be finished in less than 3 hours with no replay value. The story felt very shallow to us personally. We really enjoyed the graphics, however. They seemed very original to us. It was very cute. There were some grammatical errors toward the end of the game, but nothing terribly confusing.

The writing is heavy-handed and the game design is amateurish. There are some creepy audio-visual elements, but they dont have the strength to carry the whole experience.

No star. Shows a lack of vocabulary when vulgar language is used. Adds nothing to game.

We want our money back the language so ruined this game for me.

This game is silly. The dev wants to send the message that business is evil and everyone should get everything for free. Who cares if someone rightfully owns something. If someone else needs it, they should be able to take it, right? The game maker is also trying to get across contradictory points, although — laughably — they might not realize it. On one hand, they stress the wickedness of personal property rights, but then they condemn the concept of valuing the greater good over individual wants (i.e. The eminent domain storyline). Above all else, the game isn’t scary in the least. Save your money.
