This game is amazing and Im really glad we can even purchase it. With that being said PLEASE PLEASE can we have updates to the other CAVE games!? We will gladly buy all games at full price no lite version to support you. We want more cave on our iPhone! Im looking at you bug princess 2 and espgulada!
Bought this game a while ago, just now writing a review. Love it every time we play and we never get tired of it. Been coming back to it for almost ten years, lol. Glad Cave has a platform in mobile gaming.
And so far loved the game. Was in love with the Original Gradius game back from the PS2 and tried downloading anything that came close to it but this is a whole different game that is worth while and love it so far!
NOTE Still, after today’s update (October 23, 2019) we can not, for the life of us, enter the ‘hidden’ loop on this version of the game (that you need to enter in order to get all 45 bees). We can do it about 99% of the time while playing the old (SD) version and the Steam version, but for some reason this HD build will not let us do it (unless we’re in practice mode and have the ‘hidden loop’ option turned to ‘On’). We think the ship’s shots (both laser and the regular shot), for some reason, don’t reach up into the top part of the screen as far as they do in all the other builds of this game. But–I can now move our ship while our finger is in the border area, so thank you for that fix!! And now for our review, posted after the September 2019 update:;: we’ve had the original SD build of DoDonPachi Resurrection since the beginning of 2011…. We STILL play it these days, as we have an old iPhone 5 run in iOS 7 that we keep around because of all the games that still play on it. Anyway:;: today, CAVE updated 4 of their iOS games, and this HD build was the only one we didn’t already own. We figured I’d just purchase it to show some support, but then we would up clearing some space on our 6S (which is a pain, as it’s only a 16GB model) and installing this alongside the other 3. To our own surprise, this was the first of the recently updated games that we booted up and started playing. We hit the OMOTE loop in Smartphone Mode on our first game, so it lasted a bit longer than we thought it would. Anyway…. This HD build looks ABSOLUTELY ASTOUNDING compared to the ‘original’ version. So-anyone questioning if it’s worth the purchase/double-dip, we would have to say YES, INCREDIBLY worth it! To anyone that hasn’t played DDPR yet, if you’re a danmaku fan… GET. THIS. GAME. NOW! Old-school shmup fans might have a harder time getting into it, but for all of us bullet-curtain fanatics, there’s always that ‘first game’, right? This could very well be yours… And now, to the developers::: CAVE, it took a while, but you have offered the fans of your games an early XMAS today, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Thank you SO VERY MUCH for these updates. And while we hope that the rest of your catalog receives the same treatment, if it doesn’t, these 4 titles getting updated is more than we thought us iOS shmupers would ever get, and we could not be happier. Again, THANK. YOU. SO. MUCH!!!

Say it’s HD? Is this resolution worth the price? At the same time, no update for half a year!
Im a seasoned and longtime Dodonpachi player, and we’ve known how to play Dodonpachi: Daifukkatsu (Resurrection) ever since it first came out. To players who download this game, both young and old: just dont. In Arcade Mode, in order to move on to the Ura path (the true full game/path to the true last boss), you have to destroy the circular silos at the start of level 1 before the tanks can run over them. We have tried countless combinations of ships and Styles, and nothing works to move on to the Ura path – we are alw a fantastic game is ruined by someones carelessness.
Thank you Cave Staff and all that made it possible to update this Cave Games and bring it back to the fans. This is one of the best old school Bullet Hell from Cave. For bullet hell fans this is a must have!

Theres no movement slowing. For example RaidenLegacy has arcade touch and fast touch one simulates an arcade stick, the other just moves as fast as your finger. So in DDPR we can move our ship as fast as we like, which kinda feels cheap. Still fun, good for memorizing levels and patterns! Still good tho! Bluetooth controls would be excellent! And lemme use more of our screen!!!

This is such an awesome bullet hell shooter, and it works great on our iPad 4. We love the music, the bullet patterns are awesome and mesmerizing, it’s great that it has 3 difficulty levels to suit different abilities and moods. The smartphone mode is really fun. Nobody does bullet hell games like Cave.

We love all your titles, Cave, and all these mobile ports are outstandingly well executed, but PLEASE UPDATE THEM ALL FOR iOS 11 COMPATIBILITY! PLEASE!!!
This is our first bullet hell and we understand why so many people love these things now. The concept is deceptively simple but after you get in to the game it becomes incredibly challenging to string together as many hits and rack up as many points as possible. At the same time it’s never enraging and dodging through the mesmerizing bullet patterns is actually very cathartic. To solve slowdown issues go to options>other and disable Wait Control.
We’re a huge cave fan but have never been a fan of games on our iPhone or tablet. We just never found anything where touch controls worked… Until cave brought their games to iOS that is. They have truly mastered touch controls for these shmups and we have happily bought several of their games now for iOS. We mostly play them on our iPad Air 2, but just in case they are also loaded on our iPhone 6 plus as well. The controls are basically perfect here. There are other shmups on the App Store but most of them have virtual controls or similar touch but delayed a bit which ruins the gameplay experience. Cave nailed the controls and their games really do look and perform about the same as they do on our Xbox 360. We can’t praise them enough for these superb games. If the rumors are true and they don’t make any more console games then at least we can hope that they continue making games for iOS. Please don’t hesitate to buy these if you have any interest in shooters. Also, they do have easy modes for beginners.

We have an iPhone 5 and because of that bought DDP Maximum before this game, thinking it would be "better suited," etc. – but we instantly regretted it. Resurrection HD is just the instant classic Cave game for iOS that needs to be owned first. Once you get your "real Cave shooter" fix with Resurrection HD, it’s fun to switch over to the cartoonier / more line-art style of Maximumit is a worthwhile purchase… But it does get old far quicker. It’s almost like you have to have Resurrection HD first to really appreciate Maximum. If you can only get one, get Resurrection HD.

Perfect in SD perfect in HD! Maybe the most challenging of Cave’s catalogue in the Appstore, super engaging patterns and enemies, it’s never boring, you’ll do complete runs after runs without even noticing time passing. And at least for us it has the best Cave soundtrack!
Nobody does shooters better than Cave. Don’t know if it has support for the new retina iPad but on our 4S, it looks amazing. Quite simply, a must have.

We bought the non-hd version the second it hit the app store. Did the same with the HD version. It has always been our favorite game. If you only have one game on your device it should be this. The visuals now equal the gameplay in shear awesomeness.
This game is amazing!!! It’s almost as good a Radiant Silvergun! The soundtrack is also amazing. The ONLY real problem here is that it looks somewhat choppy/washed out on the new iPad. Please update this app for the new iPad’s retina display asap!! Could you also add more color saturation? Thank you.
