Playing over 3 years. A challenging game and fun.
Where do we begin? This game has everything we nerds and geeks could desire while we’re whiling our hours away at a desk, and so addictive we can’t help but play away. The mythology is on point, the artistic design is diverse and beautiful, the variety of characters and game challenges are excellently balanced, and the creators are constantly working on making it accessible to all levels of gameplay. The depth and breadth of this "match 3" game is rare, epic…. Even legendary. Super fun, interactive with other players all over the globe, and the admin are super friendly and helpful. Everything good.
We love how it evolves into a way to finally sign over our soul just a little bit more.
We have been playing the game since we were 8 (four years) we were addicted for a while but then got to a point where we couldnt get the stuff we needed, that is without paying a lot of money or playing when Im supposed to be doing school or sports. Our idea is make it so you can trade with people in your alliance. We know it would be broken. But it doesnt have to be for heroes it could be for ascension and crafting materials, food, iron, maybe even gems, we have 9 of a four-star ascension material we dont even need and one of something we need a really bad. If you add trading it could change the game and would make it easier to get better. Yes it may bring sales down but less people would give up and quit which could theoretically mean more sales. This is an idea, we would love for it to be added, but we wont (probably) quit if it doesnt get added.
Great game but if you dont spend Little money your going to be frustrated with all new heros p2p players have.
Fun game, can spend lots of time on it. 5* is impossible to get. Requires constant application updates to play so we stopped playing. Not smart move on the developer side of things to lose users.
There seems to be a glitch with the hero: Lord Loki. When facing an enemy, (Richard for example) that presently has the mindless attack ailment applied on him, if Lord Loki targets him to try and copy his special skill, Lord Loki will not copy Richards special, instead, Lord Loki will perform mindless attack on himself or one of his Allies. This occurs when Lord Loki attempts to copy the special skill of any hero that has the mindless attack ailment on them. This clearly appears to be a glitch, and must be fixed immediately. Thank you.
So a new franchise took this over. We’ve been playing for 4 years now almost five. The newer ppl are stingy in our humble opinion. Dont get us wrong its a great game but it isnt fair a lot of times when you go to war against another team its unevenly matched. It takes forever to level up hero’s. The prices have gone way up. When building your kingdom its literally in real time. Which is some what annoying. We love our alliance and without this game we wouldnt have met some kickass ppl.
You people are double charging us on our purchases we want our money back Im not playing Im spending a lot of money and you charged us $58 for a 29.99 purchases on quite a few occasions Im tired of it Im going to find out to report you guys to if we dont get a refund you should be ashamed of yourself. You can pay, but it will not do as much as just doing the grind to grow!
We’ve played this game for years. No doubt spent way more than we should have. But over the last year purchases are everywhere. Too many and in too many places. Yes you can play without purchases, which we’ve done for the last year but its a slog. Feels too greedy and not as much fun any longer. Seems like theres a better way of motivating the users that dont want to shell out bucks. They give some random response such as were sorry you arent happy but its a money grab. No longer fun. Theyve lost the spirit of the game and lost touch with their audience. Hasta.
Played the game for years. But as they cram more and more onto the screen to get offers in front of players, the font has gotten tiny. We can barely read alliance chat now, during war they put so much info on a hero card that if you have questions about what the hero does or has, you cant read it. Font appears about 1/3 the height of text while writing this review. We have good vision, and do not have the problem with any other apps or games.
There are too many heroes and too little probability to get them and additional challenges to level them especially for levels 85 and 90. A small amount of money investment like 30$ per month wont bring you far. You wont be able to compete in war or other competitions. Its also getting almost impossible to keep track of all the different heroes. It just exploded within one year. Other than that, the gaming can be fun.
This game is designed to get you addicted and steal your money. They are no better than drug dealers. Dont believe the canned AI answers. Total scam. These jokers should be ashamed. Good luck if you get sucked in.
Been playing for over 4 years. Spent our share of dollars. It has gotten to the point that the only reason our alliance members still play is because we have become a bit of a family and want to stay in touch. Every one of us are long time players and we all have the same basic issues. Primarily the developers have become even more money grubbing and even less concerned about us the players. You know, the ones that actually provide your income. We get it, this is how you make your livings but come on. Having 1st season heroes for the f2p and c2p players is completed out of balance to the later, much more overpowered heroes now. And dont bother to respond to our review, because thats the automated lies. Were sorry this, everybody that, E&P has the same other thing. Youre trying to placate us with fake automated concern that, really, just insults our intelligence to assume we buy into your computer generated crap concern replies.
It used to be a fun game. They lasted a long time as a great game. They put their foot on the gas too hard, and now they tipped the scales and cant back off. Spend a grand chasing something they take the powers away from, then they release another that you spend a grand chasing they take the powers away from. They have a beta team that tests the heroes, and Im sure they use them to release the OP heroes so they can take those powers away after you spend money. We played for 4 years or so, but they broke this game. Dont spend a dime, unless you want to spend 10,000. Not worth it.
Game has gone to trash. If you stack a team you wont get the tiles and there constantly pumping out newer heros that are by far stronger then the last to keep you paying.
Nothing against those who like to spend money. Wont deny we spend some at some point, but lately Im noticing the great gap between p2p vs f2p. Its undeniable that this has become a money spending game. We used to enjoy the game but the greed of the developers will drive you away from it.
Way too many pop-ups when we enter the game and after we finish a match and come back to the home screen. And for that reason, Im out.
We just wish we didnt have to spend money just to play a game with a fair advantage.
This game is fun and we enjoy leveling up and drawing characters. We like that it is a match three but you have to do it strategically. We would love if the game developed a trade with Allies option. Our sister needs and item and we have two of the same 5 star character. Would be nice to trade. Our one dislike so far is having to X out of all the pop up adds when you first begin and then taking up part of the map.
We’ve played this game for over 5 years. It is fun, very competitive and has plenty of different quests and stories. However, it is really turning more and more into a p2p game, and you can no longer keep track of the heroes because they come out with so many new ones constantly. You also now have to spend a lot of money to even be competitive with the new aether rules. For anyone looking to join a game like this, Id honestly recommend looking elsewhere unless you plan to spend a lot of money. There are better game options if you are just starting out.
This game has been one of our favorites for several years. However each of the recent updates, especially the alpha aethers, has seemed to make this game a pay to win game. The story lines are okay, but to be competitive in any of the PvP modes you need to be willing to spend money, and a lot of it at that. We would no longer recommend playing this game to anyone that doesnt have money to spend on it.
Dont waste your time or money. The game is entirely about greed and a pay-to-win. We’ve been playing for over a year now and it has gotten worse with every update.
Empires and puzzles (zynga) has earned our generous one star review. Used to be a five star game, but due to the greed of the "tirds" that run this and the uneven game play we have been given as of late one star it is! – feel free to go back to "fell 8ing" each other while you think of new ways to make the game unbearable!
Game gives you nothing when you buy gems, just crappy characters. You would have to spend thousands of dollars for a mediocre team, what a rip off of a game. Not to mention how absolutely and absurdly broken literally all the PvP content is. We dont understand how these people get away with generating so many fake five star reviews. Anyone who has either played this game for more than a few months or spent money on gems would never in their right mind give this game a five star rating. PvE is the only thing that doesnt belong in the trash, but even then the events they put on are insulting with the rewards given. With so many other options in the match 3 genre we cant understand how this game is still around, we guess thats how they keep the lights on by giving you nothing for buying gems in some failed criminal way thinking you will just buy more.
Tried this. Couldnt get past the horrible micromanagement phase where it teaches symbol matching. Settings are inaccessible, so the creators just keep kicking you in the groin with the symbol matches they would choose. After being puppetted through a bunch of garbage we decided Id rather do ANYTHING else.
The game is being killed off by the developers probably to support financial profit. When you open the game you get hit with no less than 10 prompts to spend money. Then the gameplay its a puzzle game but in order for you to have a chance of success you need matching tiles which the algorithm they set rarely gives you. There have been many instances by numerous players, where it gives you zero. Inconsistent damage values, such as minions that usually do double digit damage at max, doing hundreds of hp damage per single hit. It also works the other way where your atks do zero damage without any input from special abilities. We end with the last issue where the game returns null when using healing. After reviewing the enemy player abilities, there was nothing that prevented healing. So, if you play, dont spend money. This is a dumpster fire of game where the developers just keep airdropping napalm in the dumpster. Many players are sticking it out because of the invested time and/or money and some of those are on the fence about quitting. We were with a clan of players who on avg spent about 2-4 years playing, almost all of them quit playing the game because of issues with the game.
We are only on level 6 but we’ve been playing several days and its an easy game to pick up when we have a few minutes and slowly build our forces. You can pay to do things faster but thats not our thing. Thankfully the ads are few and mainly optional.
Sadly this is a pay to play game you rarely ever get a good hero ever unless you buy gems and even then its super rare to get a 5 star hero like so rare its ridiculous our advice safe your money and time for other games that actually have a better algorithm than this one cause this game is so greedy and they just want your money without ever giving you a 5 star ever.
Idk why they make you do a 8 level tutorial that you cant skip we’ve already played this game before Im a high level and before we can get it back its making us play this stupid tutorial that we cant skip.
We have to build stuff and wait and wait unless we spend money to progress the game.
Unless you are willing to spend money your team will never be able to compete. Team power amonts to nothing you will constantly lose to teams far below your ranking and is so inconsistent that it becomes frustrating. Long gone are the days when strategy and skill mattered in global raids. Its about who shelled out the most ca$h. We’ve played for a few years and have built up a team to 4800 and still we lose to teams with only 3200 or 4000. If you play this game you know how long it takes to build up a team to reach that level only to lose to someone who paid to play. This is a game no longer based on any skill or strategy. Just spend money and pay for all your advancements then you will be able to enjoy beating teams and competing against those that were built from the ground up and have been a part of of the game for years.
We started playing E&P in 11/2018. It was a great game. We leveled up the hero available to us at the time. Now, the odds are always against older heroes. The algorithms dont line up enough to charge them and every three match (singular) has the new super fast heroes charged up and ours are killed by all the fast ones before we can charge a single hero. Its been an early morning piss us off game and Im not going to play that way anymore. The game has changed to only a good game if we can spend the money to buy it.
We came back and won our first quest challenge! Fairly good progress so far.

We enjoy the game, but would love if there was a pass that combines the path of valor and path of giants that you could purchase for a decent deal. Just an idea.
We were surprised but we are really liking this game. It has everything we like to see in a game; strategy, alliances and puzzles. Like we’ve read in some of the other reviews, this game is a marathon, not a dash. So if your looking for a game to burn through quickly, this isnt it. Our only gripe is that we wish there was more information on the different character building attributes. We’ve only been playing for a week so maybe its there somewhere and Im missing it. Either way, this game is really fun and if you like these type of games then give it a shot. You wont be disappointed. Id like to say thank you to the developers too. Its been a while since we’ve found a game that peaks our interest like this one does. Stay groovy.
Since we got this game we had doubts but as we kept playing it we enjoyed it!!!
Its a fun game, but a bit challenging even at the start – but thats what makes the game fun. You dont want it to easy theres tons of other games you can play if you want easy. Though we could say the tutorial is a bit long and boring. Other than that we find it fun to engage with.
