In Wings of Heroes you are in charge of a small training airfield for recruits, who will need to be prepared for the imminent clash with enemy forces.
However, sometimes things don't work out as planned and your airfield will soon be required to participate in military operations.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
This is NOT a "pay to win" game.
IAPs are there to support us: they are not needed to finish the missions and continue playing, you just need some practice.

So we found this game at a house warming party and we thought it was cool because there is no such game Ive played or heard of that is a 2D, WWII, phone-tilting, dogfighter game. This game in our opinion, is one of the best out there, it is simple and recognizable. The game has a cool art style, low storage space, easy but challenging levels and mechanics, and not to mention, the title screen. See, the thing about this game is that it has actual recruits that you play as and when you die, the game holds a sort of memorial for the ones who died fighting, which is what the title screen does. It shows them flying in heaven, which is so creative and it gives the game so much Life to it. This game is just so memorable and we hope so many people find this game.
But we deleted it because when you lose a poilt die forever.
This game is so much fun, but can you make a game like this, but you are a bomber plane.
But we have one question. Will this ever be continued? Like will there be a prequel? Like with different nations? In theory will there be stuff like bomber escort and close air support.
We really like the game, story was good and felt like we actually was controlling a real squadron. We would love to see game modes where theres infinite rounds of dogfighting. Everytime you win a round your plane is filled back with ammo and health and fuel. Or even AI generated missions. Like having to destroy boats and planes at the same time. Or even protecting a bomber formation high in the sky from enemy planes. Would be pretty cool to see.
Played this game multiple times through, honestly it might be the best mobile game we have every played, if this dev were to release a game like this on steam we promise we would buy it, and it would definitely be a smash hit. 10/10.
We only get to play the tutorial we really dont know how to turn the plane into the opposite direction in the tutorial how to even do that we have been stuck for hours trying.
This is absolutely amazing while many others are like this this one is free immersive not pay to win. Highly recommend this for people who are into World War flight games.
This is literally the game that we would relate to as our fav shirt buried in our closet, although you should make the controls inverted or smh its sometimes to easy when you play, Great game tho keep up the good work.
We love this game, the witty humor, the dogfighting. There is no pay to win, and it is just so freaking good. The game is complex, and far better than games made by those big companies like those poorly disguised ripoffs of match 3 games. There are no words to describe how good this game is, you simply must play it yourself. The loading screen is also quite funny, you all did an amazing job :).

We havent ever reviewed anything before, but this game is legit. It actually gives you a taste of what a true dogfight in the air is supposed to be like and challenges you at the same time. We dont know why this game hasnt blown up already. Its one of a kind.
We know we prolly sound like a bot but we swear on god we aint . Okay so this game is one of th few that is so hard yet so fun. Ive probably lost 6 pilots in 10 missions yet Im still having fun.

This game is probably one of the best games Ive ever played, we have to admit the older versions were more challenging since we would accidentally do something on landing that would get our pilots killed by the overall gameplay was alright and pretty good at certain points. If theres ever a part 2 or something to this game, the ability to switch out your spitfire for a P-40 should be a feature instead of something that only really happened in one mission (If we recall correct it has been a while since Ive played). We should also get load out customization if possible, instead of just taking missiles (or rockets whatever they are called in game) we should have some sort of other payload we can carry and use against enemies.
This game should have 5 stars, its so simple yet so fun. The way you control the game is so easy compared to other games. Its so sad when your wingman dies in combat.

Okay Ive only been playing for a few hours now and we lost a few recruits during the intro and it makes us so sad but happy to see them when we open the game flying around all happy its kinda emotional because they fought for such a great game.

Its a great game a little challenge to learn but fun.
This game is so good and mission 3 name made us laugh we have played till mission 5 and we have got no ads which is great and the only thing we want a little change on is we wish after some missions your the bomber that drops a nuke on Hiroshima or Nagasaki because we really love the Japanese theater of ww2 and that would be awesome to do also if stuff has to load give facts about airplanes and can you add different teams to fight for like Germany or the Soviet Union we know this is just a ton of ideas but we really think it will add more flavor in the game also this game is awesome.

The effort and continual change to this game as well as the developers decision to listen to feedback and change the game based on this is what makes the game so well made, it takes skill to win and while this is possible it is challenging. Great game, excellent work.
Dont get us wrong this is great but only one and one thing only is lacking that would bring this to a Seven star review the extra 2 bc A for effort and we like plains, but we think adding controller support would be cool cuz we would like it and we feel it would add to the elements of dogfighting with other ppls keep up the good work champion you are crafting gold, and ignor the haters (: yay <3.
This game is fun to play, but the button hit boxes can be annoyingly small and easy to miss, and the ending is somewhat dissatisfying.
Us playing earlier levels fun time Level 19 insert markiplier getting over it rant Level 19 is really annoying. A few reasons are. 1. Your squad mates only go after planes and even then they tend to not do well 2. You dont have enough missiles from your squad to take out all the objectives, we know you can use bullets but it is very hard with several dudes with rocket launchers. Other than that, this is an excellent game. Or at least everything Ive played. Good job.

We just downloaded it and it is just a gem. While you see games with ads around every corner this one actually feels fun and challenging! 5 stars all the way.
But one thing when you get shot sometimes you pilot will say dam it if you could add a setting that turns that off then it would be a perfect game. We would want to change that because Dam is sometimes considered a cuss word. Also make barrel roll a button itself, because it is really annoying to stop going at max speed then slowing down to barrel roll.

When a pilot dieds it make us sad on the cut scene.
So we yes us lost all us planes and now they will not recharge so we can not play the game unless we pay money but that is our only problem other than that it is a great game.

Great game, fun and interesting combat mechanics that require some thought and skill. Great atmosphere, we felt emotionally attached to our pilots and didnt want to loose them. We also likes how unobtrusive the ads are and the way they implemented the IAPs. This is the type of game where Im happy to pay money for it just to support the developer. Amazing job guys.
This game has a great story and death system. It is better than any other mobile game we have ever played and it is completely free. GET THIS GAME IT IS AMAZING.
We never write reviews for games, but this is easily one of the best mobile games Ive ever played, its really fun and its free so there really isnt a reason you shouldnt get it. The only suggestion we would have is for some sort of endless mode to be introduced at the end of the game. Great game, would definitely recommend.
Ill get right to the point. Most apps on here are corporate. Flashy and polished with an animated trailer that looks better than the actual game. Theyre designed to make money. They feel cold and hollow. Wings of Heroes is the exact opposite. This is a passion project, made by a small designer, with a vision for a fun and challenging game. The little details, the historical accuracy, the hand crafted levels, everything feels so human. We wish we could give 6 Stars. If you like WWII, flying, or just great games, do yourself a favor and download this. Support these creators. These are the types of apps we need to celebrate. Truly a hidden Gem.
Surprised to see this doesnt have more reviews. Great game with a good plot/story. But also, VERY challenging, which is a nice change. Most games now a days are all about who can endure the longest playing some push the button game. A couple weeks in and we still havent beat it, but its also not frustratingly impossible, or pay to play.
This is unlike any other mobile game we have ever played. The controls were a Match made in heaven with the gameplay. When we first lost a pilot. We were shocked at the way this game makes you feel the loss. It turns the player into a more responsive and cautious pilot. Knowing that there are people on the line. We mean, you guys even gave them names! All In all, great game glad we found it. Im surprised that apple has not advertised it as game of the week or one of those things. Question: could the devs consider a player vs player or a co-op function with the next new update? We know some people who would LOVE to play wings of heroes! Much love, Muttley.
Games like this set the standard for great mobile games. The gameplay is fantastic. We love the progression of our pilots as well as the simple yet complex controls. The moment your most experienced officer dies will be one to remember. We happily put a couple bucks into this game even though the game is still great without spending anything. Thanks.
This game is hard, but that adds to the fun. You worry about your recruits, and you are happy when you succeed in a mission. This game does a fantastic job at making you connect to the pilots.
This game definitely deserves a reward for one of the best gamesI have ever played we played so many War playing games And this one definitely stands out But sadly Im almost done with the game Im on the24th levelVery disappointing that there wouldnt be nothing else to do because this game is so addictive and we didnt want to start playing hopefully you do an update by adding an endless mode With infinite levels where we can play for ever God we love this game.

This is one of the most unique air combat games out there. As you can land or fly in a formation. And the story for the missions is great. This game should get much more attention.
This is a great game and we love playing it! We are really attached to our pilots and we swear if Tree ever dies Im gunna be mad. Some of the levels are hard but that only makes you want to play it more. We love the mechanics it doesnt feel janky or unfinished at all. Level 14 though.
