Epic Little War Game Reviews

Can you please date your all your little big war games. We’ve paid good money for these games and we cant play them because you havent updated them. We have a iPhone 6 Plus. We would give this game a high rating but the lack of updates and not being able to play the older games kills that for us. Ugh.

Games fantastic, but is it possible to do PvP on PC against IPad or is cross platform not a thing for this game?

Best game ever this is our favorite game love the game but please make the skirmish have options like in GBWG you could go to skirmish and then put 2000 each turn but we love the game still.

Love this game. Just wish there was more/ longer/ more ops.

Great graphics, great strategy, easy to control and really fun overall. Kinda like Advance Wars meets Age of Empires.

This a great strategy game and gets a lot of things right. One price and no nagging in-game purchases. Lots of variables and random game boards to keep you entertained. We recommend it and would buy it again. But its been a while since an update and the developer website is unreachable.

Why dont people play this game? ITS AWESOME. Its one of if not the best strategy games on mobile. Its turn based, has fun cartoony graphics, hilarious voice lines and campaign, many unique units that are different from each other, factions you can choose to play as with exclusive units and buildings and limitations, and did we forget to say that you can build BASES in this game? Improvement over the last installment, look forward to playing even more. Great game, epic game, tiny little war game!

Played all rubicon games good games except little grate war 2 it is really bad game but you guys came true with this game it’s amazing ????? Why can’t army colors don’t change but still love in its.

Wether youre new to the series or have been playing the War Games for years this game is great. Unlike other games that boast tons of redundant units, require you to pay IAPs and force you to wait for everything, rubicon came through yet again with true quality and depth. Massive maps, unique units and strategy combine to make this game, in our opinion, best of its class. This game should be on the featured section of the App Store and you should totally buy. Support this studio so that they will add even more to the game- they deserve it.

Amazing, its even better than before. We miss a few features such as the ability to take over buildings with the engineer but otherwise its got much more to look forward to. The graphics have improved phenomenally and there are countless maps. Play against others or a quick scrimmage against bots, or even the campaigns.

Literally. We’ve purchased every available release of the series for iOS, Android, Steam (pc), and even Chrome OS for the original game. Our favorite game series of all time. We even keep an iPad on an older iOS so we can play the ones that werent updated (GBWG and GLWG) to work with iOS whatever.

We’ve loved this series by Rubicon ever since the first Great Little War Game years ago. They keep on improving the formula and making it even more fun. We could honestly spend hours on this game. The campaign is very well thought out and the learning curve isnt steep at all. This is a great game.

Would love to see this optimization. Best turn based on mobile!

We were kinda upset we had bought the whole series for a while and they all came down except one but we just went to buy this one cuz it said we didnt own it and it gave it us for free said we already owned it! Awesome thank you we felt kinda ripped off ina way and we love these games so gives stars.

NOW THIS!!! THIS is the true sequel to GLWG!! We can not recommend this game enough to those of you who are turn-based strategy fans. Yes, there are a few titles in the AppStore that are better. But not many. And yes, there are better MP strategy games in the AppStore. But again, not many. Actually… I’d have to say that the only games I’d put their single player campaign over ELWG are FFT, Templar Battleforce and X-Com. Two of those being console titles that have huge teams behind them and many, many years of experience under their belts. As for the multiplayer aspect, we can only put WarBits near this. And even then, it’s a very close call and is dependent on the type of multiplayer gaming you’re looking for. Epic Little War Game has cross platform multiplayer (with up to 6 players!) across the iOS, Android and PC! And with the added base building and resource gathering added into the mix, it can hold its own among the top of the top. Generally, a turn based strategy game that has MP puts all of the work into either the single player campaign or the online aspects (those of you who are familiar with TBS titles will completely understand). But ELWG’s campaign is just as entertaining and can get just as challenging as playing against mid-high skilled human players. If you’re looking for a strategy game you can dump a TON of hours into and that satisfies on both the single player and multiplayer fronts- GET. THIS. GAME. NOW!!

Although incomparable to GLWG it GBWG this is still an amazing, yet different game in the series. It offers multiple different aspects that are not seen in the previous games and is much more up to date. Although it has some issues, only an extremely major issue could drop our review to 4 stars, because any game in this series wins us over regardless of content.

This game is a blast to play and very addictive. We highly recommend purchasing this game and giving it a try. For such a small (and sometimes silly) game, there is a ton of serious strategy! The person who recommended it to us said it was like Age of Empires (one of our all time favorite games) for the mobile device world, and we completely agree! The main difference between AoE and ELWG is that AoE is a real-time strategy game (RTS) where ELWG is turn-based. We never imagined that a turn-based game could be so much, but its incredible! In fact, its one of the biggest selling points of the game because it fits in nicely with people who lead busy lives. Dont have 3 hours to sit down and play a RTS? Thats fine. Take a couple of minutes to think about your move, make it, and end your turnthen get back to your crazy life! This game provided a nice distraction to 2020, and is one of the best strategy games on the App Store. Side note: One thing this game is missing is a notification letting you know when its your turn, but there are work arounds for that. Thanks for reading! Terrell.

We’ve really enjoyed Rubicon’s war games but this one is easily our favorite. The scale of some of the maps is huge. The availability of different factions with different units and advantages is also a great addition. Highly recommended.

No new games? More ships, helicopters ,tanks. New bad guy.

Im not sure what the developer is up to now adays but we tell you one thing, if the next mini war game has all the strategy fog of war/ammo. Fuel refill. Basically all of the amazing content made from all previous versions. Id pay $20 or more for it. The next level of customizations in skirmish & campaign to the moon we liked how one was able to upgrade the troopers in the last versions. We believe the community would have no problem paying for a fuller completed game. Im surprised this has been a hidden gem for a while. We dont know why Rubicon has not reached out to brand themselves on instagram or with other influencers. This game can be #1 in the app store.

Years of waiting, and you release a new game. Thank you for this game. Its awesome! Just a few suggestions: we wonder if you guys can add a Special Force oriented faction into the game, like an upgraded version of the Grunts, Grenadiers, Snipers, and Main Battle Tanks, like new model and changes to damage and all. However, the commando is removed from the faction and the units are like 20-30% more expensive. Yet another update: Now Im pretty sure you are beginning to hate us, lord knows you think we burned out our thumbs writing this entire review, but we came up with another idea, actually two ideas: create your own map (not like the Skirmish MM, which is a step in the right direction) and create custom games and rules. The MM in the current game is great, but it not only gets annoying trying to find a perfect map but its also kind of boring clicking that randomize button every time. So, instead, you would have the ability to completely create your own map from scratch and upload it onto a new tab in the game. By starting out with a flat piece of land, a player could expand, shrink, heighten or lower the layer to their preference and to their liking. From a dynamic Epic map to a tiny CQC map, its up to the player, however they can only make up to like three or four maps. The limit is up to you. HQ placement is also up to the player, like how many can play, where the building will go, etc. Another way to spice up the game is by creating your own game. Skirmish, Online, and Campaign is fine, but creating your own game mode is truly an innovative choice. Here you can choose what the objective for each player can be, whether it is to kill the enemy general or evacuate a base, set limits to certain units, and even make it like a campaign mission. If u really wanted to be revolutionary, u can have players make their own campaign mission and map at the same time! Trust us, it will be fantastic if you do something like that. We guarantee it! Plus u can add a new tab where ppl can share their creations like Super Mario Maker and u can add them into a menu where u can edit them yourself. Just please, Im dying to see u guys do this! Also: PLEASE UPDATE THE GAME!!! IM DYING TO SEE A NEW UPDATE FOR THE GAME!!! And can u please add the management of ammo and fuel and the Fog Of War back into the game? Thank you!

We miss upgrading your units after the missions. This makes the games strategic dynamic so much more customizable and unique to each players style. Still good though. Like the building upgrades.

This game is better than the previous 3 installments in a ton of ways, such as the new mechanics, factions, and graphics but there are a few things that don’t really meet up with the previous ones. The first is the Audio, not the music or anything, but the dialogue of what the soldiers say, it just sounds muffled. Second, the campaign, the campaign isn’t as long as the previous games especially compared to GBWG’s 50. Third, bring back FoW or atleast make it a option when you make a game because it just removes so many of the tactics. And finally bring back the engineer and the ability to take over buildings, yes we know builders can just make new buildings but establishing a factory or something in enemy lines is hard so taking control of buildings would be interesting. Don’t get us wrong this game is amazing but it would make that much more amazing if you added more levels, FoW and capturing buildings/engineer.

One tip – save! Save! Save! This game is great but youll lose your progress sometimes if you just switch apps and forget to come back Otherwise, game play is more challenging compared to previous installments. Its great to be able to have up to 6 opponents, although no matter how many theyre always against only you.

ELWG is OK, but its not GBWG. Without fog of war distant enemy units are invisible you cannot gain tactical surprise. Everyone sees every attack coming. Without Hail Mary, the game drags on long after it has become obvious who will win. Hail Marys function was to put the loser out of his misery quickly. To be fair, this is still a very good game. But not as good as GBWG.

Unlike the previous two installments this one never crashed and was a joy to play. However the campaign is much shorter than before.

We adore the game; but it has sever error and online feature not currently available.

First off, good job developers! This is a fantastic game and a great time killer. If we may, Id like to offer a little suggestion. Currently you have a wide variety of maps, but a small variety in factions. We believe it would be beneficial to add more factions, and possibly more troop types. This will add a fresh feeling of the game and make it even more enjoyable.

We played a bunch of Great Big War Game about 5 years ago and that was our favorite game for such a long time. We just recently decided to get that game again and found this. This game he so many improvements. We love the base building. Being able to see everything on the map unlike before is pretty cool, it’s not good or bad and a different kind of strategy compared to the other game. The only thing we do not care for is the graphics. The older one seemed to be better but we can’t quite tell why, just seems better to us. The base building can get a little too fast pace at some points where you have an insane amounts of buildings and turrets etc. Overall though amazing game.

If you have played any of the other war games in this series, or ever enjoyed the Advance Wars games, this is a must buy! Our only gripe is the placing of buildings. Taking one star off for being unable to rotate the building before building it. Sometimes we should be able to fit a structure on a plot of land, but it’s sideways, or the pads for units are on the back side. Still loving it!

Now we cannot play against with our friends in same device If we can play against with player(my friends) in same device. We think its better.

Being able to see everything your opponent is doing removes a great deal of strategy. This game DESPERATELY needs to bring back fog of war. We know it was removed because some players like to see everything, but why couldnt turning it on/off be an option. Makes what should be a great game completely unplayable for us.

We’ve played the others and really wanted to like this one but it was sorely lacking. Extremely easy and very short. We think this is mostly geared toward online play but we have no interest in that. It felt like it was just a slow boring game of attrition. There was maybe one semi-challenging sea battle. Plus, what is with the INSANE battery draw? Are they recording our every move or just not caching anything?

We enjoyed people versions in this series, but the ganger doesn’t scale well and they removed a key feature – fog of war – that required more strategic thinking. There was only one level we needed to repeat. The rest folowed the same pattern. Play defense while they attack karate movie style – one at a time so they’re easily defeated – and you build a lot of coin miners. Once you have a financial edge, the rest is easy. We also only used a small subset of the available unit types. In short, the AI is very weak which made the game too easy. And the bigger board just made it last longer.

Rubicon took the server down. No online head to head play. The few maps the game contains again the ai … Are boring and stupid. LONG LIVE COMBAT MONSTERS! LONG LIVE COMBAT COALITION!!

It said that we let one red team in the tunnel but it did not go in all the way in there it just sat there like this + it sat like a T-pose why does one the car stay there and none of them are doing anything else and we have no other people that can help us at the beginning or we dont have an ending to it and it keeps repeating it over and over again please fix it.

Sound, graphics, gameplay are all lacking.

Their cost reduction far outweigh their weaknesses, we give 1 star until it’s fixed, it’s just a cheap way to win, no strategy.

The servers have been down for almost two weeks now. There is no online. The campaign is sub par and the only thing worth getting this game for is broken. DO NOT BUY.

This game is such fun to play for anyone who enjoys turn based stratagey games. We loved the first games of this series… This sequel was well worth the wait!

We love the series, and this is the best yet: pure strategy and tactics with NO luck involved. We enjoy the asynchronous PvP and the ability to generate new random maps.

Great turned based strategy game. Online matches require you to outwit your opponent. Well worth the one time charge. See you on the battlefield!!!

Very good. Great improvement.

The Great ______War Game series has always been one of our favorite iOS experiences, and this chapter just deepens the love. With the possible exception of Carcassonne, this is the best implementation of touch screen strategy. Buy this, support the non-freemium model, and play the heck out of both the single-player campaign and the multiplayer.

Nothing else like it on mobile. Desktop quality strategy game in your pocket with tons of personality without being silly. Anybody who hates the freemium tide drowning the App Store right now, it’s time to put your money where your mouth is. Edit: you’ve gotta love these guys, pushing out rapid-fire big fixes in spite of the App Store’s ridiculous policy of hiding reviews after updates.

Just a blast to play. Worth every cent, wish we could pay more.

It’s a fun game, both armies are mirror images which makes it less complex and about every 4 turns it crashes. Needs work.
