This app is the best Fanarona app we’ve ever played.
This is a great game and well set up for mobile. Recommendation: add a setting to remove hints (dont tell us we have more moves… If we dont see it, we dont want to be told.). Even better… If we miss out on a chain, track it and let us know at the end.
Works Great on hard for beating AC3 After hours of trying to find a game that would win, this one did on the first try. Totally worth the $0.99.
Great way to teach the kids about a board game played in Madagascar! We tried to learn with pebbles and a game board, but its much easier to learn and understand through this app first.
As a fan of abstract strategy games this is an excellent app and game. Works well and love that as a beginner the easy ai setting is great for learning how to play.

Best game ever we thought we knew every strategy game apparently not. So far our favorite strategy game.
We dont normally write app reviews but Ill be honest – we were freaking out about getting the Original Gamer trophy for ACIII Remastered. No other online Fanorona AI seemed to be good enough, and the YouTube tutorials were simply not helpful since the AI changes movesets every game. This app helped us win an Expert game of Fanorona on the homestead on the first try. Worth every penny. Its important to note that you CAN stop your move. Like it says in the rules, tap the screen with two fingers and you should be set.
When playing online games they almost never update with the gamw.
GAME DOES NOT ALLOW ME TO CANCEL MY CHAIN. Your are not forced to chain if you do not want to those are the rules… Yet we are we forced to chain even we dont want to. Multiple times the A.I. Cancels its chain but we cant?? 1 star should be 0.
We just bought this game a few days ago, and it’s already become one of our favorites. The rules are pretty simple. Kind of like an amped up version of checkers. Sweet game. Well designed app too!

On an iPhone 5s, the white pieces frequently don’t lock into place, making it annoying to move. Otherwise, good game. Thanks!
It’s really not bad but we would like to see few things in setting being able to change controls like instead of drag drop have select and drop as well and the guide should help the player get better at the game helpful hints and such. Color select for your pieces. So this review is more for things that would be nice but not really needed.
Haven’t played this game in years. Super-happy we found it, can’t stop playing., one of the best games ever invented.
It’s easy to start a game with a random stranger on the Internet, but its a bit tough to communicate, which we think is a potential improvement. We think it’s true to the rules and well-designed as far as the game itself, but could use some work on interfacing options.
We’ve played on all the difficulty levels and the Device opponent misses mandatory takes/moves. It is very frustrating because pieces are left on the board that should not be in positions that might be considered cheating. What’s more interesting is that the Assassin’s Creed IV game does the same thing in its mini game of Fanorana. Must be a very hard game to program completely correct. Another thing I’d like to pick our color when playing Device and the game consistently have white go first.
