We love this game it reminds us when we use to play it in the mid 90s the best years Five stars.
"Fatal Fury SPECIAL" is a difficult game. You are going to lose–and lose badly–regardless of handicap. That said, thanks to the lucidity of this versions controls, you’ve a better chance than ever before. Power wave!
As soon as we saw it, we bought it, really like it, it just amazing that iOS is bringing all the Neo Geo titles, we just love it.
Great port of the awesome classic Fatal Fury special! We did notice though that all the in game text (not menus) and title screen is in the Japanese language localization version, even when we switch the language option to English. Doesnt affect gameplay as the game in game options and in game difficulty settings are in English, but it would be nice to have the USA localization, especially the fantastic winning battle quotes. Also, if the game is open and we switch to another game and then back the game force closes and we have to reopen it. Other than the non-game breaking issues we mentioned up above, this is a flawless 5-Star port, Fatal Fury Special rules!
We were a big fan of snk, specially before SNK is know for KOF series. We also love KOFs but we were always more of a fan of Fatal Fury, AOF, and Samurai Spirits. Snk has released several ports of their classic games and for us who purchased all of them, would like to say that this is the greatest port of all. Specially the controls, where the original arcade version was not so good, has become so much better that we would rarely miss pulling out special moves. Not to mention how great this game is. Now its just AOF2 im waiting for… Thank you so much SNK, im so proud to be ur fan since early 1990s.
This games is excellent and we really REALLY wish that you guys add more games. Id be happy to play them all. Fatal 1 and 3. Or even better add Real Bout Fatal Fury.
Fatal Fury Special is the best of the pre-Real Bout titles. Recommended!

When we first started the app on our iPhone 7 Plus the game lagged very much but now it plays just fine. This is a great game,thank you very much for porting this classic. Please keep bringing back more classics and the ones that worked on previous ios. Thank you.
Would like to have the option to use icade jr. With this game just like we can on the kof games we’ve purchased. Please add SNK. 5 stars if it were supported. Still a fun game on the go which is the whole purpose of having this on our iPhone. No complaints here besides the controller support and the "mash button" specials are hard to get to work. Classic snk action. We already beat it with Ryo on easy but haven’t tried the more difficult settings. Fun game overall and the "desperation moves" cheat button helps.
But why are all post fight quotes in Japanese? Can’t they convert to English???

Fatal Fury Special is one of our favorite fighting games, but the difficulty in this version is way to hard. Even on beginner the difficulty is insane. We own this game on our Neo Geo and on our Xbox 360, and this version is by far the hardest version. SNK needs to make the "Easy" and "Beginner" modes more realistic.
Pro: we love fighting games and snk fighting games so when we got this game we were amazed! Con: not all of the game was translated to English. You should go buy this one and there other ones.

Even the beginner mode seems to be set on difficult. Otherwise this is a great port. On screen Controls are a little tough, but the game is still very playable and fun. Unlike street fighter, this game relies heavily on special moves. Its nearly impossible to win without special moves. Brings back good memories of the original fatal fury.
The controls for this game are horrible, which makes it very hard to play and enjoy it. Improve the controls!
This game gets three stars because it is a good game however this is NOT a good port. No practice mode or single player quick match mode is disappointing. We realize the original game did not have these but it would have been a quick mode to add. Still lots of enjoyment though.
Add controller support and training features immediately.
IPhone XS Max user the games menus dont fit the screen and are miniscule. The app lacks controller support and is practically unplayable in its current state. Game will also crash 50% of the time during the games intro.
We would really like it if there was controller support. This is one of our all time favorite games and without controller support, it’s not the same. Not adding this option to this game (especially in 2015) when the KOF had it is unacceptable. Knowing SNK track record for lack of updates to their games, most likely will not see any anytime soon.
Practice mode is missing, please add it.
Controller button position is really bad that we many times hit the empty space next to button pad. Also, it does not recognize well whenever we tried skills, even the SP frequently missing.
Can not start the game, we go to the main menu, im trying to choose the level inwant (easy hard nirmak etc) but there is not a start or any button!!!
Worst controls ever we have never written a review until playing this app, save your money.
Need controller support like icade and MFI support and touch screen is not good for fighting games.
This app is literally crap. Control buttons are awful and AI is insane. No big difference between different levels difficulty. It will dodge your every move and make you feel so bad. Don’t waste your money on this!
IOS 13.5.1 With recent OS update the game display screen is 1/9th of the original size. Not playable. Tried rebooting, changing display setting and nothing seems to fix this issue.
We will rate every single one of your fighting games 1 star. Youre tricking people into buying some of the worst ports we’ve ever seen. Add controller support and training features immediately.
April 4, 2020 Simple fix, would not take developer not even 2 whole days. Dont buy if you use controller. These companies move slow (complacency) controller support should had been added.
So we were looking forwards to play this awesome game, but behold… A scam!! The designers of his app are nothing more than scammers as for one the controllers are way too small, secondly these buttons and and joystick are non responsive! We want a refund!!
Dont get us wrong, this is definitely a five-star game BUT there are issues that need to be taken care of first, the most pressing of which being a bug with iOS 13 that has made both the menu screens and virtual buttons much smaller than they should be. This hinders the games playability as the buttons are too small to make accurate presses. If this is fixed, the game is five stars for sure (although controller support and a practice mode would be good too).
This game is nearly unplayable. TERRIBLE controls, we want our money back. We’re a huge SNK fan, and this is garbage.
It is like the game we remember as a kid. However the controls on our iphone x are really bad. Cant continue because no button is available to press. To complete the special moves are not easy or predictable. Its fun, but frustrating. Oh, screen size in changeable buy is really funny to see it really little.
It would be nice if we could use back bone for this game, & ones like it.
