Fate Core Folio Reviews

Everything is good, just please make it so people can save having multiple characters because we can only have one saved one atm.

Im a GM for a homebrew campaign and this app is exactly what we’ve been looking for. We love how customizable everything is, and it helps us keep track of PC and NPC stats in a way that doesnt crowd our GM screen at the table. Its just a shame its not compatible with android devices, otherwise Id easily give this app 5 stars.

Please update this app for iOS 11!

Should be able to add more than 1 additional stress track and should be able to add an additional mild consequence for each stress track. Should be able to export as PDF to send to GM for their records.

We LOVE the new version! We had to uninstall old version and reinstall new version fresh for it to work, but now that its going… WOW! :) Great work guys… Love the improvements! The built in dice roller sure is handy too! Keep up the good work!

We love the basics of what we have been given here. Now please give us just a little bit more. Please give us a portrait slot for imagoes of our PC’s Please allow us to add more aspects so that older games like Dresden can fit in this folio. Allow for added backgrounds again a request for Dresden that has 5 phases not 3. A Notes section for keeping track of info for the game our players are in ! Please consider these updates. TY.

We got this to make rolling fate dice for various skill checks simple. Once all skills were entered we’re able to easily roll dice and calculate for various situations. We use the Ipod and we were able to figure out the screen navigation easily. We’re very pleased.

We’re a big fan of Fate Core and wanted an app or form to make character sheet creation easier and to keep track of all the aspects available. This would have been a good one, but the design is somewhat bland, and at the moment, it’s buggy. On some pages, you can’t see the information at the stop, sometimes the skills are cut off along the bottom of the words, and on one page, you can’t slide the page down far enough to see what you’re typing. The most annoying thing about this app though is that it doesn’t retain your aspects. It asks you to do the high concept and trouble on the stories tab, but then you can’t go back without the app crashing. Then afterwards, you realize that over half of your aspects are gone. Putting them in through the aspects tab didn’t fix or help the problem at all. One would hope that the developers put this through some testing, given the nature of the development communities, but until the bugs are resolved, we have effectively wasted 3 dollars. A final note: Fate Core has the option of pyramid or column layout for skills, but this app does it in a list format, which isn’t all that great. Support should be added for such–color coding them on the side with greyscale just looks lazy too.

It’s got pretty much everything you need to play Fate Core! You can even click on the skills and it’ll roll that skill for you! Nicely done!

We would give this five starts but for one thing: the app does not compensate for whichever text box you a writing in. So filling in our Phase Trio details the text quickly got lost behind the iPad keyboard, and we could not see what we were typing. Much editing and swearing ensued as the iPad is terrible about placing the curser correctly when you tap somewhere mid-sentence.

Customizable, very useful! We wish it could export a sheet, though.

Terrific app but we really need to be able to export a character sheet.

Great app for basics in first build. Minimal customization for stress, and not backwards compatible for SotC or DFRPG. Would be five star if it had that! Great for tracking some things but bad for others – can’t put in max skill points and so on. Still, great first effort! Needs a link in the app for where feedback/suggestions should be directed.

Does stuff you want a character sheet to do, with neat uncluttered layouts in both portrait and landscape modes. Minor problems we had: 1. When entering text in landscape mode sometimes the keyboard covered up the text box, and we couldn’t paste text from the clipboard. (Worked fine in portrait mode.) 2. For some reason our first character, with a Will of 2 has 4 Mental Stress boxes, but when we create a new character, we get the proper number of stress boxes. 3. I’d like the dice to roll automatically when selecting a skill to roll, and not have to hit roll after selecting the skill. Looking forward to updates!
