This app, along with the same developer's Fight Club app have both completely changed game night for the better. What used to pause game to look things up, or to calculate effects, or to simply note things now runs seamlessly. We have found game to run more smoothly, and with more fun. And after-all, isn't that the point.
Even though they took the data away, the app is great. We used an xml file we created to upload some of the data.

We love this app. It works well and we love it. There are only a few downsides, it comes with no compendium so you have to type out all the powers and items. When you add a proficiency to a weapon, it gives it to every character you attach it to. If you go to take away the proficiency it takes it away from the item in the compendium. Other than that, its a very useful app, and for $3 its totally worth it.
We bought the full product but unlike the pathfinder one they made there is no info at all. We have to type up everything even the gold at some points, Idk if this is just us or if it's a glitch in the app but it's annoying spending hours typing in equipment. Other then that it's great and really useful to keep track of everything.
This app series has changed game night for the better. We like that we can customize everything to match by the book play, or house rules. We would love it if we could get the Game master app to support 4th edition, like 3.5 and 5th edition. It would be enough to get the 5th star. The 4th edition app does not work correctly unless you have a newer device. We have a 2nd gen iPad, and a 2nd gen iPad Air. The iPad Air works great, but the iPad will not load from the cloud. The app crashes instead.
We have more than one character and we wanted to put the second one in, but you have to pay? Why not just make the iap no ads? Why do we have to pay for 2 characters.
We loved this app in the past it was great. So much so we bought the full version. But this week we redownloaded it because our friends and we are starting up playing again. We spent hours marking a character and putting all the powers in detail in with items and descriptions. Then the next day it was all gone. Just gone, deleted forever. Hours of our time just deleted.
We feel like when we first got this app, it had the ability to automatically input certain aspects of a character, like fighters having a certain amount of health, and easy money managment. Now we come back to it and find we have to pay money to create more than one character and even when we do, it doesn't have an easy to use character creator anymore? The only good thing it has going for it anymore is that it can serve as a fairly useful character sheet. We just wish actually making the character was as fun and easy as it used to be.
App is bugged or broken, no matter how many times we save to the cloud everything we enter is being deleted, and it crashes everytime we try to load a cloud save file.
There's no data for anything pre-loaded. So, you could type up half the player's handbook just to make a character…No thanks. For $3 we'd expect something more than a recycled GUI.
We're loving the app!!!! Lions den was great fixing the problems we were having with the app. Though kinda annoying that we have to type everything in. We can understand due to copyright laws. Thanks lions den! We do hope that they can fix the problem that causes the app to randomly close from time to time.
As you can tell immediately we're sure, our title pretty much gives us away right away.. It should be of no surprise that we felt we were almost compelled to write this review, and as the stars aligned within the all mighty cosmic shift.. Pandora opened up a pretty serious box on us and shuffled up Bohemian Rhapsody. The Simple question is, well.. What would we see when we opened this box? If you're reading this then you'll just have to check the app out before dismissing it, because we were sold as soon as a miracle occured right before our very own two eye holes. That was the day Fredo Mercution the Bard of Fails was born (copyright /u/smokiepots) have an awesome day.
This app is amazing The only thing is we don't like about it is it doesn't work on our Mac, and there is no place to put in your sight ability as well as physical attributes. Other than that this is an amazing app and we use it every time that we have an encounter. And we have been in about three different groups. Each of us now use the app we barely use our paper anymore. If you're playing for D&D at all this is a must have.
This is a really awesome app for putting your characters on here. Don't spend more time looking for another free character sheet app thats free like us thinking that its not a character sheet app. This is the best free one out there. We think the only improvement it could make is not calculating the defense stats for you.
We were just wondering if their was a way to upload your pc's onto the dm app, if not we believe that would be a great addition but otherwise we think it's perfect.
Great if you don't want to do math in combat. Automatically adds your modifiers to all attack, damage, and skill rolls. Also great as an HP counter of course, and handles temp HP really well. Does not automatically calculate your Max HP but it does automatically calculate defenses. Would be nice if it could include Second Wind (under rest, perhaps) and allowed for temporary or conditional Power Bonuses from allies or feats. So far, we have added such things as powers and activate them for the bonuses. Have experienced some stability issues on our 5c running 8.1.2, and also does not always save all changes, power expenditures, HP, notes, etc. When we close the app (or if it crashes) even if we save manually. NEVER saves Action Points.
Great app for managing multiple characters from multiple campaigns.
We love the Lion's Den apps. They take the hard parts out of making a character, and managing one. As a DM, we're constantly making new characters and NPCs, and using these apps to make them is just so simple. One thing we miss is that all we had to do to add abilities to our characters was click on the ones we wanted, now we have to type it all in by hand. It's not terrible, but it does make things difficult.
We really like the app but have been having the same issue many other people have been having. When trying to save powers, they only save as at-wills. Before the update it was worse. We would save 10 feats or so only to get back on to find that they had all not been saved. Also, having an option to select feats would be useful instead of having to compose new ones every time. And lastly, the class powers available do not extend into many (if any) of the supplement books such as Heroes of the Shadowfell or Martial Power books.
It makes it easy to make characters once you realize what needs to be done. Extra text you will need to fill in with any extra powers. Creating new powers, weapon, etc is easy and once you make it, it's in the app. One thing we would like is the fight club apps and dm apps work with each other better. Instead of emailing the info over we work like it to auto fill into the app via wifi or Bluetooth, or if on same device transfer over. Also if we had the apps on different devices we would like it to move to new devices. We got a new phone and had to redo everything. Other then that…. Love it! Thank you for the new update! **** Please fix the powers bug. Makes the app useless. The powers are getting mixed with the level of the power.
We absolutely love this app because it makes our Roleplaying games so much easier to play. That is, if we can open the app. Before the last update, the game would constantly crash, and delete data, even though we have well over a GB of data left. Ever since the new update however, we have been unable to open the app at all. We really want to play our Roleplaying games, but we can't if the app doesn't work, and that delays any plans to play that we may have. It's a great app with a lot of potential, and we don't know if it's just our phone in particular (although we are aware that most of our friends are having the same problems and complaints with the game) or if it's a large, or small amount of people. If not for the crashing of this app, we would give this app a five star rating, but for now we are leaving it with a four star rating. We do hope that our rating is raised to five stars soon, for we absolutely and truly enjoy this app.
Very handy for tracking the bulk of you character details. There are some rule books it doesn't have auto populate info for, but anything you want can be manually entered very easily. For a free app, it's the best one we've found for 4e. Highly recommended.
This app has surpassed our expectations. It has totally enhanced our DnD experience. We were the first in our gaming group to use this and now they all do! As others have said, the initial creation is a task, but once you take the time, you are golden. We used the iPhone "dictation" feature which made it faster. The intensity of the character creation actually caused us to become familiar with the subtleties of our Bard's abilities. Thanks for a fantastic app.
There should be more girls in this game. We don't like it because the characters are not women. Conquering a dungeon is just a different experience with women.
This thing rocks. Great way to make custom or missing powers. Everything is calculated and it's so seem less. When are you guys going to make a pathfinder app.
This app is great. It can be a little difficult getting started because it's pretty much a blank page. But once you take the time to fill it out, it's so worth it. Everyone in our playgroup uses this and there's never any trouble with it. The only other issue we've found with this app is it's a battery drainer. After about 2 hours of play this app pretty much kills your device. But besides that this app is perfect. We would recommend this to anyone who wants a great app for displaying all of your character sheet.
We really appreciate the attention to detail that the developer puts inthe fonts and colors are customized perfectly to match the appearance of the core rulebooks for each edition. This app will not do all the work for youbecause Wizards of the Coast doesnt license their copyrighted information, youll need to do a lot of typing to set up your characters abilities. Youll have to consult the rules to make sure all the proper bonuses are entered in all the right spots. But there is a spot for everything, and once youve got it set up, its incredibly slick. We have not seen any other apps with a comparable attention to detail. We cant recommend this enough.
Works great. Except for augmentable powers.
This app is amazing! We are the envy of our table with our paladin built out in this app on our iPad. There is a bit of a learning curve to set it up, but once you have your character, feats and items built it is truly a wonderful character manager. The only reason that we remove the star is that it can be a bit unstable. There are points where the app will crash to the home screen it is not often. If you still play fourth edition, then pay the 2.99 and get this app…even with the occasional bug, it is SO worth it.
Works perfectly on iPhone, but auto closes immediately upon opening app on iPad Air running 8.1.3. Demo worked fine, but upon full purchase, ipad version immediately stopped working. Fix immediately.
Its amazing and worth the upgrade. However we wish this had moves and classes from more books.
Insanely helpful for beginner players who still don't quite understand all of the calculations yet.

Best app we've found for character creation and use.
This is a great app that has everything we need from it, custom power cards, damage calculations. The only thing we want to see from this is more classes to source from, as we had to create our class from scratch as it wasn't already already in the available lists. Another great feature would be pre-made feats and races already in the system to pull from as well.
This is a near must have for any D&D player out their. The ability to save a character to your phone is epic. No more leaving your favorite character behind.
We have found this very useful especially in keeping track of our character's wealth. However, there is one minor problem, it does not take into account that when you wear heavy armor, you do not add your dex/int modifier to your AC. Other than that, this app is excellent.
We love it's design, along with its automatic calculator – but it does count our defenses wrong, due to our class. We would appreciate it if they could recognize races and classes, so the calculator can input it in correctly. Another suggestion is that they are able to sync characters with the dm20 app. That'd honestly make our lives easier.
We like using this app although you need to pay 3 dollars for the full version, not to mention new versions come out with every update, for now we'll just use this for checking out classes we may want to use in a campaign.
We used to think that the only skills we had were the ones we were trained in but now we got points in each of them.
Easy to organize powers, items, and notes, and does all the math for you. Looks great, too! Well worth the full version. Wouldn't mind a spot for rituals though, and sometimes, longer notes we write will disappear until we edit and re-save them.
Takes some time to setup, but really cool.
We've used this now for three months and we must say that we're quite impressed. This app makes tracking characters in D&D 4e very easy. The only thing we wish it did was allow for imports of DDI character builder data. As it stands, we have to add in powers and whatnot by hand and that's a little tedious.
Love the app but having a drop-down menu for races, deities etc. Would make this SO much better. Also, a settings option to change the background (we liked the older, darker one better) would be nice.
Takes a little time to set up initially. Perhaps adding racial and class bonuses automatically would speed things up. We wish the attacks and spells came preloaded with all of the extra effects and flavor text attached already, but that complaint is nowhere near taking a star off.
