Gameplay Outline
The new Star Trials gameplay unlocks at Troop Lv 88.
This mode is made up of multiple chapters, each with trials guided by a particular Star Soul having its own unique challenge mechanism.
Players must carefully observe and experiment to fully understand these mechanisms in order to form a suitable hero lineup to take on the challenges. You also have to be able to read the tide of battles and adjust accordingly!
Rewards
Such harsh challenges naturally come with an abundance of rewards.
Completing a certain number of stages for each chapter will enable the unlocking of a corresponding Star Soul guardian for all heroes. With the help of the astrologer, you will be able to unleash the guardians’ blessings to give your heroes incredible powers.
All Star Trial stages drop the latest enhancement item, Star Stones, which can be used to light up your heroes’ Star Souls and grant heroes powerful new attributes.
Chapter Strategy
Chapter 1: Balance Chapter
The Balance Chapter is a test of your ability to strike a balance between physical and magic damage. In battles, your total physical damage and magic damage output will be periodically checked, and if found out-of-balance, you will be dealt a penalty. The more out-of-balance you are, the more severe the penalty will be.
We recommend you select the proper lineup before battle, for example 1 Tank, 1 Support, 1 Physical Damager, 1 Magic Damager, and one Dual-Damage hero.
During battles, players also need to keep a close eye on the progress bar and countdown clock at the top of the screen, and cast timely hero ultimates to adjust your damage distribution and maintain your balance. To this end, in all stages for this chapter, all heroes will have a higher than normal energy regen speed.
Moreover, taking a close look at the enemy’s lineup pre-battle will also come in handy, since some special heroes will severely influence the proportions of the two damage types. For example, Vala’s shields will make it very hard for you to rack up physical damage for a period of time. Commanders, you’ll have to rely on your wits to get past the trickier stages!
Chapter 2: Twinhood Chapter
In the Twinhood Chapter, some enemies are given a symbiotic ability. Observe the enemy team carefully, and you’ll notice that the enemies with this ability have a special aura under them. When one of the symbiotic pair is defeated, he or she will enter a temporarily weakened state, during which he/she will be unable to make attacks or take damage. After several seconds, if this unit’s symbiotic counterpart is still alive, then both side will recover to full HP and gain a Rage effect. Under this effect, the enemy’s attacks will be very powerful, so whatever you do, try to avoid putting them in a Rage!
The key to countering the twins is to first drain their HP and save your high-damage ultimate attack at all costs. When the time is right, burst attack them, hopefully killing them both within seconds of each other.
Certain symbiotic units may possess invulnerability skills or teleportation skills, so be on your toes, Commanders.
Chapter 3: Goddess Chapter
In the Goddess Chapter, only female heroes are allowed in your lineup, and HP regen effects are greatly limited.
The good news is, the Goddess has prepared four gifts for your heroes.
During battles, every so often, four different colored gifts will appear on the battlefield. Use hero ultimates to bust open these gifts and receive their powerful effects.
Red = Greatly increases allied hero attack power.
Blue = Gives allied heroes huge damage reduction for a short time.
Green = Gives allied heroes a huge HP boost within a short time.
Yellow = Gives allied heroes lots of energy.
After busting open a gift, the box will automatically disappear, and each time you can only choose one gift, so remember to choose wisely based on the current battle situation, Commanders.
