The developers did almost everything right here. The game plays smoothly. The words are large, and easy to read. The sound effects are good. We could go on and on. So why only one star from us? There is no turn-based option in the campaign game. You are forced to play a real-time game, at least at the start. We hate that. Im not a teenager any more. We dont have the reflexes we used to have. We need time to think. We paid for this game, but we are denied that time to think. There is no good reason for that. So we are shut out of the campaign game. Thats just wrong. So one star from us.
Well contained. Good adaptation. Campaign mode keeps interest. Need to design other campaigns!
We didn’t expect the devs could do justice to this great board game. The real-time ship building would seem particularly challenging, especially on the small screen real estate of an iPad. It’s stunningly good, as is every other aspect of the game. And it goes above and beyond the board game by adding in single-player play, an awesome campaign mode, and juicy achievements.
Still one of the best boardgame implementations on iOS. We could play this all day. Great graphics, controls, and gameplay.
We enjoyed the game immensely over the summer and had some time to play today. However, the app will no longer load. Sad to see this one go; hopefully a fix is on the way.
Love this game! Many issues with the App though (iPad version): 1. No sound without headphones 2. Sync issues are infuriating; completed missions become incomplete and game prompts us to do things we have already done (class three ship, aliens, etc.) 3. Cant get to Alpha mine: the robot asks if we want to go there but then we cant choose that dialogue path 4. Achievements not registering after completing them Otherwise, again, love this game.
We’ve tried deleting and reinstalling, rebooting, updating the software, and nothing. Shame. We were looking forward to the game.

Great game, works well no issues. Still love it after all this time, we still come back to it.
Really good game. Would give it 4 stars for gameplay. But loses one star for not offering landscape mode. Yes, it can be designed to work landscape. And that would mean our iPad could rest on the table, and we wouldnt have to hold it the entire time. Make us hold the iPad the entire game when it has a perfectly good stand, lose a star.
Enjoy the game, but recently it logged us out of our account and won’t let us access our online games.

Amazing game, super fun to play even solo, but we came across a pretty big glitch regarding the new Alien Presents mission. We don’t have Alien Technologies, but we somehow selected the Alien Presents mission and the selection registered and saved. However, now our game crashes whenever we do anything in the "New Mission" tab. We can’t switch mission to either of the vanilla missions (Doubles and Batteries or the normal presents mission), since that crashes the game, and we can’t even hit the X button because that crashes the game too! The deck selection is missing, likely because there are no decks available without buying the expansion, and we can’t start an Alien Presents game, since even that crashes the game. Everything else appears to remain functional, and we’re playing our vanilla turn-based games without any problems. We can even start new non-mission games! Still, we don’t want to wait ten days for the mission to expire. Could we have some help getting off this mission? Edit: LOL we CAN JOIN OTHER ALIEN PRESENTS GAMES AND ONE OF THEM STARTED have fun patching this out.
Keeps quitting after we creat our character.
Real time games super laggy after update :( Update: it seems to have gotten worse after update. Played the game for years via real-time games and after the last major update we have to restart constantly during each game to progress :( we love this game, but unbearable to play in its current state.
Was going to get the board game but couldn’t pass this up for five bucks!
Great adaptation of a wonderful board game. Thoroughly enjoying playing through the single player campaign at the moment with the same tongue and cheek humor. Super fun and definitely recommend adding to your iPad board games collection!
Amazing translation of board game! Keeps the best parts and adds new unexpected twists, option, scenarios, pieces, etc. We’ve written 2 reviews ever. And it’s the ONLY video game our girlfriend will play with us! Gives you an idea how much we like this game.

Galaxy trucker was one of our favorite games ever. We soon got the expansion and finished it and the campaign at the speed of light. We got so excited we even got the board game and "the big expansion." we love galaxy trucker and wish there were more expansions. We have been playing the board game now.
Our son and we enjoy the humor and puzzle solving involved in each mission and the campaign sustains itself too.
This is the rare app that is actually better than the originally great board game it was based upon. The campaign makes replay-ability high and usability is top notch.
This is everything you’d want in a board game conversion: fidelity to the original, challenging (but not frustrating) missions in an engaging campaign, local and online multiplayer, choice of play modes. It’s generous, fun, and brilliant. One of THE best apps out there. Get it.

You will not regret this purchase. We’ve never played the board game but now we will buy a copy.
It’s 2 games in 1. The first game is the fun and fast paced designing of a spaceship – with limited resources. You never get to build exactly what you wanted, but then you roll the dice and see how your spur-of-moment (imperfect) design stands up to random galactic adventures. Galaxy Trucker is highly addicting, and it’s so nice to see a quality game without pay-to-win micro transactions. No "bag of gems" to buy in this game. Just a lot of fun with winsome humor and addictive gameplay. Have fun!
Turn notifications finally seem fixed so increased review to 3. Will increase to five when we know we can opt out of notifications for new missions. Takes five steps at a minimum once a week to clear them. Extraordinarily annoying. Every week a new mission we don’t care about that we should be and to opt out of and we’re never notified of our turn on games. Had never played but love the game. Disappointing that we get constant notifications from the system about new missions the we’re not interested in (should be able to opt out). Asynchronous where notifications mean it’s our turn and nothing else (no "new mission unlocked") like we get successfully in agricola, Carcassonne, waterdeep, ascension and etc. Would give five stars otherwise.

Galaxy Trucker is a fun spaceship construction game where every player tries to build the best ship, before you take off into space. Usually the ship looses some parts in the next asteroid field or pirate attack, but if you are lucky you can finish your mission and come out on top. There is a turn based mode, where you can play without being stressed by the timer.
Just a great app of a great game.

Just getting started but it’s a blast, great adaptation, and simple game. Its to get a game that is just five dollars. Not free with several thousand required to be competitive… Just five. Well worth the money.
It’s fun, easy to learn and has great replay value. Multiplayer is extremely well implemented. Board game port is perfect and the tutorial is intuitive and funny. Really the only negative is the lack of expansions. We would pay for in app purchases of all of them.
This game should be huge. The online multiplayer is fantastic. Kudos.
We’re honestly trying to figure out what isn’t amazing? We’ve never played the physical game, but can’t imagine that it’s better than the iPad version. Lords of Waterdeep and Pandemic ar both fantastic apps, but we think this has to be our favorite board game port ever!
The game plays almost exactly like the board game. Build a ship, find a crew, keep flying. Of course, this ain’t no Firefly. Your ship is assembled from spare parts and your crew is ragtag at best. You’ll face pirates, slavers, and epidemics. Succeed, and your name will be spoken with reverence. Fail, and you won’t even be remembered.
Just as much fun as the board game. Very addictive!
