It used to be a game about a sultan, but now it's a money dump with a bunch of unnecessary functions.
We started playing two weeks after the game came out, it was fun… Now not so much. unobtainable vizirs unobtainable consorts * mini games that have NOTHING to do withe the otoman empire. And let us get this straight: New servers: whole new layout, Hippolyta for 0.99 cents, daily rewards include vizier Ismail and concubine Yara but old servers get none of this!? MAKE IT MAKE SENSE PLEASE!, all the ideas we have pitched in during the years you give it to the new servers but neglect the old servers, how is that fair? Only reason we dont quit is because we have spent more than $800 through the years we have been playing.
The game is really fun we enjoy it but we just wish they could add some things Im not to far into the game we played it a while ago and Im just now picking it up again and some things had obviously changed but we just wish the game had more of a story line like in the beginning it has a story but we wish it kept on going with that, like it makes the game more interesting to us. We also wish you be able to interact with your kids more instead of just developing them and getting them married also with the companions we wish you can do other things and have a storyline with them have some drama yknow like for example more you interact with one companion the others gets jealous like that would be so tea!! Itd be more fun please add somethings where you can interact with people and have an actual dialogue that changes and you can pick your dialogue choices but overall its a fun game that we enjoy! ALSO PLEASE THERE IS NO DIVERSITY with choosing your character please add some people with color! Some dark skinned people why am we white as snow?? Please fix that!! Like please a darkskin character with curly hair or something.
We started playing this game when we started college when it was an ad on tumblr, and made friends with the other players on a discord dedicated to the game. We dont remember our first play through but we decided to play it again along with those friends, we love that theres a story aspect in the form of a visual novel, but our only request as of right now, is to be able to replay the campaign as much as Id like, so we can have fanfic/fanart ideas and concepts. From a returning fan of the game, rosesonfire or aka Neal Franks. Love you guys, and you guys are doing great.
We have been playing this from almost the start. This game has kept our interest for that length of time which is extremely rare for us. We can really enjoy a game, but after a while, it gets boring. This game never has. There are some thinking involved in some of it. Theres a little bit of everything in it. We have been in a union for that length of time. We have a tendency of staying away from too much chatting because Drama can get into that. However, our union is nice enough. Some people really enjoy the chatting so if thats you, this is a good game to also get into. The only issue we have with this game is that we believe there was a new buyout. The newer developers are really concentrating on money. You can play this game comfortably without spending money however it takes a lot longer to do so. Ive been on both sides of this. You can tell by someones VIP status on how much theyve spent on the game. There are some high spenders like in the hundred thousands. So the developer is really not catering to anyone that is lower on that totem pole. Ill keep playing it every day until we get bored but so far, six years later we still have not.
We used to play the game a few years back. Ended up trying it again; did not enjoy. The graphics have gone down greatly in quality. Unlike their other game, Game of Khans or something, you dont acquire the Harem immediately. Also, in the morning, similar to the other game, you are bombarded with notifications/things to do.
So fun and entertaining but we have encountered glitches like looking like a guy even though we picked a female character, Also we dont like the dating thing we dont like because Im a girl so unless we pay money Im gay! Please fix these but at the same time thank you for such a great game.
We only gave 6 star so it will be seen. August will be 6 years Ive been playing GoS. Some days we really question why then it hits us. Our account isnt just a game its a investment $. Devs use to be about the players but Ive seen them turn into money hungry cash cows over the years. They use to throw celebrations throughout the year. Really good ones to. Now its just a few and they make you pay during the celebration! We maxed everything out in this anniversary celebration that we can without making a purchase. We normally wouldnt mind the $4.99 but a few spaces later price jump not long and your stuck paying 99.99. Im tired of paying for everything in game. We use to spend because we wanted to get ahead now you have to if you want to participate in events. This game has gone so far down the tube that if it wasnt for the amount of money Ive already invested in our account we would have quit long ago! They need to start thinking about their players again and not their pockets! Stop Making New Servers Fill The Dead Ones!!! Players have only been saying that for 5 years! We are the ones on those servers try listening we play it daily we know whats going on in servers! Be honest you dont make changes for the betterment of your average Jo players. This anniversary really shows you are all about those big spenders lining your pocket. Yes you make changes and add things. What that means for your players. You gave us something new to occupy us so well stop complaining. At least until were board with it or find out we have to make purchases to play. Your players are leaving even some big spenders are gone. All because no matter what we said or how we said it You didnt listen. Try trusting the average players opinion. We know allot of the players here. We played other war games together. We were big spenders on one of the greatest games. As we watched its downfall and others. We are now watching yours! We shouldnt have to pay to play a game that advertises play for free. Its not playing for free when we have to purchase stamina to play. Or we have to buy diamond packs because you need to make purchases with diamonds to play! Sixth year anniversary and your best years were 1 and 2.
We absolutely love this game, great graphics, good plot and most of the mini games are fun but its so expensive. You have to spend to much money to get anywhere it seems like. Once you get so many viziers and companions its hard to earn the rest of what you need or level up. Its hard to take any wins on anything it seems the winners are the ones who can afford to keep spending. We think they should make the stuff cheaper and give people more mini games or something to be able to win what they need. Also when we buy anything it keeps charging our card for stuff Im not buying we also noticed that in the mini games it will take more stamina then it is supposed to, so just watch this and your bank book because it adds up real fast. Other then that its a fun game and we play every day and have been for almost two years and Im just halfway through level 8 so it takes patience thats for sure.
This game is fun. We like the graphics, the limited time events, and we like the campaigns. What we dont like is how there is SO much. Coalitions AND unions, pets AND the other animal thing theres too much and each thing requires its own system for currency/points/progression. Its all just too much and we wish it were more simple.
To be honest this game is nothing like the ads but it still it is very fun to play with lots of things to do but Im bring it down a star because of false advertisement.
A good game to tap away at, great way to make online friends, awesome events and graphics. We love the endless options of tasks and quests to do on a daily. Though some options for purchase are too expensive but they do have cheap purchase options too.
We are hoping u fix the videos to claim the prizes for the divination and also to get more diamonds. They arent working after the update.
We dont mind paying for fun extras in the game because it isnt forced and the prices arent crazy. Id love to see more high power female viziers because theyre cool.
This game is more like an animal kingdom and has more animal upgrades than anything else. Sultans shouldnt have to take care of animals.
We are a big fan of the game, and have been playing it nonstop. It is very fun. However, our biggest issue is that when our heirs get promoted, and we go to try to get them married, it says we have no single heirs. They just disappear and we can never find them again. It kind of defeats the purpose of that whole aspect of the game.
Ive been playing for year and as of right now we think theres maybe 5 active players left on our server. Can you start adding new players here or merge the ones with few active players? Putting aside the money grab aspect of the game and how you need to pay an excessive amount to place (we saved for charm cross server event for TWO YEARS and still only placed third), Im about to stop playing because of the dead server. Oh and we do spend money too (not the 1000s other do but still), but whats the point when Im competing with ourselves.
Please knock it off with the pets/little prince/ nature spirits/new coalition war!! We loved it until you changed it all! This isnt the game we remember and loved. Ive been playing for five years and am about ready to delete this app.

5 years ago this game started as an online war/strategy game… As of tomorrow it has become a full joke, nature spirits? Pets?, the little prince? That has NOTHING to do with the ottoman empire, only reason im giving it 1 star is because we have spent way to much periodically to quit now.

Game used to be ok, but everything is pay to play. Yes you might get small lvl loot yet, every mini game you just do ok, unless you pay for it. Believe us we saved up for half a year and didnt even make a dent in the top. Socially it is fun talking to friends but mechanically and gameplay, they want you to pay for everything. Not some things. Everything! There is not one mini game or event that you dont have to pay for to get decent,not good, just decent scores. The lvl up cap you have to pay for, strong visors you have to pay for, strong pets you have to pay for. They even have watch ads for little rewards. The game changed from fun to play, to pay for everything and even if you do it would be a little fun not a lot, because even if you pay it is little chance you might even get something good. It is not a fair game, the top people which is the same every time get a lot more then everyone else making them the top every time. If youre starting out it would talk you over 5000$ and you wouldnt be the top but right when you start maybe once or twice. Then it will never happen for you again unless you keep paying to play. Like we said game was good but now its all about how much money they will make. Its becoming a drag to play, no good rewards to keep you interested. Not to mention 19.99 for a week mini game and theres 3 at a time. Thats 60 bucks you could buy a game that you would keep forever. And you could buy one a week. Too greedy of a game. Our opinion not worth playing.
Since the new update , its getting almost impossible to get out on in or create a coalition its outrageous how you expect your players to stay stuck for weeks and dont do nothing about it , complaints was made over and over , and once again developers are refusing to lisent to their player , way to go to make people mad and leave the game by not fixing what need to be fixed , instead of focusing on things that arent necessary, its time to wake up.
Ive been playing this game for 5 years, and Im a VIP 8. We are also about to quit due to the pure greed of the developers. Players have been BEGGING the developers to either merge dying older servers or start funneling new players into older servers for years now. Instead of listening, the developers chose to introduce more cross server events. That would be fine if they didnt also make it nearly impossible to place and/or win any decent prizes without spending hundreds of dollars for those events. There are mini games being rolled out left and right that require an initial $19.99 to even be slightly fun and, even at that, youre not going anywhere near the top 20 without spending a lot more. All of these 1 star reviews lately should be a wake-up call to the developers. They are killing the game by running off everyone but the top spenders. Its not a business model that can sustain itself, because the top spenders will end up alone on dead servers and eventually move on to other games that arent ghost towns. We dont have the kind of money it takes to play this game now, which is a real shame. It used to be fun.
Ive been playing this game steadily for a lot of the 5 years its been around. It used to be a game with a thriving community of players. It was competitive, but fun. But the server Im on, which used to be super active, feels like a ghost town. Over the years, its definitely felt like theres been insidious pressure to do more in app purchases (that we fell for hook, line, and sinker). We could be wrong, but it feels like you dont get as much energy for mini-games as you used to buy main vans activities. Something thats always bugged us is the discounted packages. Sorry, these 1/2 price $4.99 packs, are worth $4.99. The developers keep making changes no player seems to have asked for or wanted. The new spirit animal part obviously has a lot of thought and time put into it, but its so disjointed from the actual game itself. It would have been a great game on its own. The main reason we stay is because we have put way too much money into it to quit. If we stop, what a waste of money. Developers, PLEASE STOP making drastic changes that your loyal players dont want. Im sad to see whats becoming of your game.

When we started playing (and still, when you first create a character), the game was focused on a sultans empire, growing your assets, sending your troops to battle, actual historical references, etc. As time has gone on, the game introduced cuddly pets, fantasy themes, magic and fairy tales, and as a whole, the premise has become more and more pay-for-wins and a money grab – its hard to get anywhere in the side games or advance without paying. What happened to this war game, to the Ottoman Empire (even as loosely based as it was)? We used to love this game. We now play in a server with 20 (at best) active players. Ive spent money, but the game jumped the shark a long time ago, and its time to retire our account.
It started out great and fun. Over time they took the fun aspects away and continued to charge more and more money for basic game play. Players have been calling for server merges, games to be brought back and yet the developers continue to make changes without listening to their consumers. Game is tedious, overwhelming and no longer fun. Just empty your wallet if you plan to play.
We played this game daily for at least 3 years. It has turned into a complete money grab. You cant do anything without spending tons of money. They got rid of all the Ottoman Empire and Warring part of the game. You want to play little kiddie games? You want to design fingernails? You want to decorate a Christmas tree? You want to play with little animals? This is the game for you. Just make sure you have hundreds and thousands of dollars to blow on the game. You have lost another daily dedicated player GOS. We would not recommend this game to anyone.
When we started 4 years ago, it was a great game. We were listened to when there was an issue, great rewards for ranking and many other incentives. But now its just evolved into nothing familiar or fun. You really need to update your game intro and images that promote this as being in and about the Ottoman Empire, cause it is misleading. Also, you now have to pay to win, nothing you do raises your people to win without it. Maybe if you listened to our suggestions.
Im stuck because Ive spent a lot. The devs are greedy and its definitely a P2P game. The ads are nothing like the actual game. They have ruined all the stuff we used to like about this game. Bring back horses, pirates, & bubbles to the older servers. Quit getting rid of the games that were fun.
When they say SULTANS they mean you have to be a sultan to afford to play. Used to be you could have fun without spending a ton of money but now you will make ZERO progress without spending big $$$$. Plus now its all chibi characters instead of the cool artwork it started with. So many servers are dead with only a few players and they refuse to merge servers so people can still play. NOTE: good reviews are years old. Bad reviews are new!!!! Play Kings Choice instead.
Game is being ruined. New things that lag, that nobody asked for are being introduced It used to be pay to be on top, and right now its pay to play. The developers robbed us of the fun. Not fun to play anymore and definitely not an enjoyment Im changing a 5 star review we gave it two years ago to 1 You guys need to start listening to your players.
This has always been a pay heavy game. We honestly quite enjoyed throwing a few dollars here and there at it for playing mini games. However this week is the finale of their month long anniversary celebration, and the whole event requires you to pay to access pretty much everything including rewards. Missions to get leaves that you use to redeem rewards have the bar set so high no player can achieve them without spending hundreds to thousands of dollars, and the winners wheel increases the amount of flowes needed to spin at a exaggerated rate! Stating with 1 at the first draw, up to 175 needed for the 12th spin, in which it costs $20 for 35 of them. Since the missions are so unfairly balanced a casual player might get 13 from them (it requires the same quests as the leaves). This is beyond ridiculous. This in no way celebrates the player nor the game, and instead shows how low theyre willing to go. (This is after they have promised us at the beginning of the month they would do better!) Instead they seem intent to bleed every last cent from the player. As a result we may not remain a player for much longer as we can play for better quality at same cost elsewhere.
This use to be a great game with good graphics. This July was the fifth year anniversary of this game. Ive played it for 3 1/2 years. It has always cost a little bit to play, but not like it does now. Anyone that plays the game now has it has gone from a great war game with visors and companions to a foo foo, Disney ,Mother Goose game thats nothing but money hungry. So many people have quit so many servers have died. The server iPlay on used to be full of players. Now theres only three people left because of the changes that GOS has made here. Only play this game if you have a lot of money to spend and bye a lot we mean a lot to start off with hundreds if you ever want to win anything. We are a VIP 10 over the 3 1/2 years. We have spent thousands and now its even worse especially the past three or four months they have changed everything. You have to spend a lot of money to win any rush, cross server our regular rushes on your own server. Its terrible. What a waste they have destroyed their own game. The developers caused their own downfall. We played for 5 years and the game has changed so much and now its unrecognizable. Use to be a game about war but now its this weird fantasy game. Its no longer fun or interesting. If you want to win anything you have to spend money and its not a small amount either. Every event they have so many pop ups to spend money. All the developers want is your money. They make events so frustrating for non spenders because you cant do much with them. You will never win even if your hoard. The game is dying and servers are small. They took away all the fun mini games and replaced them money pit games. The game can no longer hold our interest. The devs also dont listen to anyone playing the game. The facebook ground and the discord group voices so many complaints and they are all ignored. The devs only care about making the big spenders spend money and not the little spenders or the non spenders.
We understand games that are pay to win. Game of Sultans takes this a step further, combining a war game with a gambling game. Heres how it works: you pay for in-game resources. You utilize these resources to earn a ranking in their event. You reach their specified benchmark (ie; placing first second , third or whatever). When you go to claim the items in the event, it says you claimed them. But you may or may not get the items. The totals in your in game backpack might remain exactly the same as before you claimed the new rewards. Youll then spend time arguing with customer support, which will ask you for endless screenshots of verifying what you are claiming. Theyll eventually quit responding. In the meantime, they have your money, and you got nothing for it except the enjoyment tapping on your screen 1000 times and seeing your money go down the drain. You might be inclined to think well, it was a minor purchase. Just five bucks or whatever. So you might give them another chance. And it will happen again. And again. Meanwhile, in-game purchase prices go up, and the value goes down. So this is not pay to win. This is pay to enrich them and maybe you get the stuff you theoretically earned and maybe you dont. Is it a fun game? Sure, sometimes. But the game itself can be glitchy and unreliable and customer service is nonexistent. There are so many other games out there. Take a pass on this and download something else, preferably from a different company.
Its a good app but we have a suggestion please fix the vizier talent event we cant win anything so please fix this problem now and please give us the companion for free and vip for free instead of making us pay for it.
Hi. Im player named Mona Jule, and Ive been playing this game for 2 years. Though the game was very glitchy on our other device to the point where we couldnt click anything, then everything froze up. So we redownloaded it a year later after missing the game. First things first.. The main screen is very crowded. (we played on iPad and now our iPhone.) Itd be a good idea to have the option to fold the other icons in, with an arrow button on both sides. The main screen would look bigger and better! Next suggestion is to have the option to gain hairstyles with an outfit, when obtained. It would mean theres more options that just a single hairstyle for a beautiful outfit. It would bring more difference to players, since the appearances are limited due to outfits and the default. Last suggestion and one that we think would be most helpful.. Reporting chat/texts. Ive been hit on in the chat multiple times, and its getting really old. We know players can go on their account and block+mute, but itd be easier and faster when holding down a chat, to have to option to report chat/text. Most people who get accused of hitting on someone would say its a joke or how to not take it to heart (personal experience). Those people shouldnt just get blocked and muted, but also reported on a higher percentage. Thank you for listening to us ramble. Besides these reasons, the game is pretty incredible. A response would be fantastic ! Keep it up devs.
They make it impossible to do anything in this game unless you pay big bucks! The packages are outrageous, some can go up to $100 for a useless item! And if you dont spend good luck on winning anything. Servers are dead & you cant switch unless you want to lose your entire account you built & put money into. MONEY HUNGER DEVELOPERS.
This was a good game for Adults and even late teens but now its a kiddie game. It BLOWS! Started as a war game where you built an empire with your Union and fought others on your same server. Now its all about mystical animals and non existent super heros. Bad enough they brought in historical figures that had NOTHING to do with the Ottoman Empire. And just wait until you see the hidden costs. You will literally soend hindreds if not thousands to even be close to competitive. Do yourself a favor and find something better on which to spend your time and money.

Used to be a fun diversion, but now developers are beaten and forced to find ways to get you to spend to play a free game. We have just a few in-game friends who keep playing so that only reason we remain. Spending tactics have gotten worse- in the middle of doing anything a pop up interrupts. The graphics in the game have gone a bizarre route. Half the time you have no idea what to do – are there buttons? Who knows, but want to spend some money? They take parts of the game that are crowd favorites and take them down to optimize which means making them ghosts of what they were but you have to spend money to play. Players are leaving in droves but they keep adding servers because new players tend to spend before they discover the house of cards. When you arent spending money you can watch ads so advertisers can spend, too.
We used to LOVEEEE this game. It occupied our life in the first two years it was out. We met some great friends (that have remained so outside the game). We loved the union aspect and how close and social unions were. We loved being a union leader. When the game was in its first few years we had no problem spending a little here and there; doing so helped get mini game stamina so it made sense. As of now, for anyone reading this review considering downloading this game.dont. This game now is nothing but a money pit. It is a completely different game than what it started with. The developers have changed so many things; they took away everything that made everyone fall in love with the game in the first place. The game is a dead horse, stop trying to revive it. The developers had many chances to keep all of us loyal players if they LISTENED to us. We wish we could play again but its just not the same and we refuse to give them any more money.
Been playing this game for years and was very fun and enjoyable to play. Did not have to spend much money, or any money, to play. Lately the developers have taken away the fun mini games and optimized the least liked games (read making players pay more for the same amount of prizes) while deleting the popular ones (read the ones that the most prizes for little or no money). Now the developers have added in new viziers, companions, animals, but making it almost impossible to win them even with paying hundreds of dollars. This game has become a must pay to play game in order to do decently. There are many dead servers with only one to 5 people playing yet servers wont be allowed to merge to solve this problem. We will no longer playing this game due these horrible changes. This game is not worth spending so much money on our level 12 character. Shame on you developers for being greedy and not listening to your players.
This game used to be great and fun, but its gone downhill. Ive decided to delete the game and enjoy life. For anyone coming to get the game we suggest you dont pay to play unless you have loads of money to waste. This has turned into a pay to play game which is one of the many reasons we no longer play. We didnt spend a dime on the game and had to work 10x as hard to get anywhere in the end. Its not worth time or effort. We met some great friends on this game back in the day but most have left the game as well. Those who still play are stuck with barely active servers. If they revert to the old game from 4 years ago maybe Ill play again. Goodluck Sultans.
We had an account for 4 years it was linked to our Facebook. We do not know what happened one day you guys did an update and we lost our account. We check in even our old Facebook and the account is no where to be found. We had spend so much money over the years and we will not start from zero. Im so mad is not even funny. Im deleted the game today.
Its a pretty fun game, our only complaint is that theres no variety in skin tones. Other than that, pretty solid game. The graphics are really nice, the stories are pretty interesting, and we could see ourselves playing this for a while without getting bored.
