A Glimpse into Gatecrasher

Gatecrasher is a game. As a player of this game you will control a ship. You will have two buttons; one button to rotate your ship clockwise, and another to rotate your ship the direction that isn’t clockwise. You must navigate your ship through gates, without crashing into them. I realise while writing this that the name of the game may be misleading, as the objective of the game is to not crash into the gates. I apologise for this, and those responsible have been fired.

Such a clean game. Interface is so clean without ads and we appreciate the creator making both modes free to play. Id honestly pay money for the full game tho. Probably $5-$7. Love this game 10/10 would recommend.

Ill be honest, we only downloaded this because of the witty description, but this has been such an enjoyable waste of our time. Its challenging and fun and actually leaves us wanting to play it more to get better. Thats tough to say about a mobile game. So simple, such purity, yet such grace and excellence.

Although im looking for a type of a long term game, this game is the definition of free. Theres no advertisements so anyone can get back into the game. This is the first time we’ve seen a game that isnt clickbait.

We absolutely love this game yes its simple but its fun and entertaining it one of the few free games that isnt completely over run by adds and stupid micro transactions but we can be better it is on the hard side if the game was made a bit easier by slowing down the first few levels if would be a 5 star game.

We have just to play while listening to music we give it four stars because line chasers cost money the weird thing is we have line chasers but we never paid money.

FINALLY a game that brings you back for more because it is not injected to the gills with advertisements. You aren’t prompted with a giant 30 second video ad after you die like every other mobile game out there. Just a simple game with an attractive stylistic design. No banner ads, no video ads, no pay to win crap. This game is goes back to the basics.

Simple, basic, and attractive game. Controls are easy to get used to and the game is very challenging. Theres no in app purchases or ads so you can enjoy the game without interruptions. Also, the game looks great on our iPhone X! 5 stars.

This is one of the few we actually really enjoy and can play for a long time. The fact there is absolutely no ads is so amazing and such a nice relief. GAME MAKERS, PLEASE DO NOT PUT THE ADS BACK IN, KEEP THEM REMOVED!! This is the only game we have come across that doesnt have ads… You are blessed if you have this game.

Llloooovvvveee iiittttt fav game ever.

And thats the best kind of game.

Thanks for updating it to work with iPhone X Also especially for making linechaser free, that was very nice of you.

The game is a lot of fun and super simple. Nowadays finding a game thats free that doesnt have ads that you have to watch is hard to find. The game isnt a freemium game which is awesome. The one thing we would love to see in the game is a true black background instead of a greyish one. This would look amazing on the iPhone X!

What is this nonsense? A fun game that doesnt shove ads in our face every chance it gets?? And its free??? Now Im just confused. Great, addictive game that lets you play and restart over and over again with no delay. Very enjoyable.

Can you add more to the background, something more fast paced and intense but still with the general theme of the game. Maybe a black backdrop and something like a crazy amount of stars and other bodies choosing by.

You make linechaser free after we paid for it? Seriously? Do we get a refund for it? You basically scammed people that bought it…

We love the concept, the colors and music make it seem like it will be a really fun, flowy, sort of trance like gameplay. The controls dont allow for that. You cant navigate smoothly like you would expect. Instead its a jerky back and forth because theres no speed control and if you just hold it down it goes too fast. Pass.

Absolutely great game and really hooks you in.

This game is so much fun!!! It’s a great way to pass the time, and we love that it’s so simple. The other game mode is cool too, but I’d like it much better if you bought it separately because it takes away from the minimalst aspect of the game. 11/10, would reccomend.

This game takes intense focus. Look away for one second and you’re done. We seem to drop our ability to continue by level 7, although the level seems beatable enough. What does that say about us? Love the look and feel of this simple, addictive game. The music is a cross between a dirty club scene and a hamster’s soundtrack, especially as it runs through its tubing network filtered in between levels.

So nice to have a fun game that’s not awash in advertising. Thank you! We have only one gripe. You can be clearing the tip of the spiral and still crash. Thank you, Ben!!!

We love this game, even if we can’t beat stage 5 (yet). Do not change the controls, they are tight and consistent and quick to learn. And please do not add a tutorial, this game is perfectly made to teach you through the gameplay, and is meant to live fast and die fast. You will fail a lot, but there is almost no time wasted before you are back in it, allowing you to improve and learn as you go. It may not be for everyone, but it is perfect at being what it wants to be.

We’re totally in love with this app. We were stuck on 6 for a long time before we caught the pattern. 7 came quickly after that. 8 was the bane of our existence for quite some time. Then, one day, while on vacation in Puerto Rico, it just happened. We beat 8 and 9 in the same run and died immediately on 10. At that moment. I’d secured our place as 9th in the world out of 180,000 people, and we’ve never been more hooked since. As of writing this, our score in Linechaser is 70sec, and we’re already hooked on that as well. This has been the most entertaining app we think we’ve downloaded in a very long time. The beautiful simplicity does it for us. Excellent work, Ben!

That’s quite literally the only reason we’re giving this 5 stars.

Very challenging, so far made it to level 4… Going to keep trying! Keep up the good work Ben.

We love this game and one of the times we passed six levels by staying in one spot.

It’s fun and simple… But we have to stop playing every now and then to avoid breaking iPad. #Dang It! Love music and design, love a simple game get this!

This is a very challenging but super fun infinite-obstacle game (and the main version is completely for free, with 0 ads!!!). For people wondering/complaining about controls: They have to do with Rotating around the tube you are traveling through. The controls are divided into the 2 sides of the screen, and a simple touch moves your line depending on where your finger is: Right = Counterclockwise Left = Clockwise Things that could be improved are pretty minor. The only suggestion we have is that the scoring system could be more detailed than just the level you get to we think (because it leads to so many ties in Game Center). Maybe you could do the greatest level you reached multiplied by the number of gates you passed through? As far as the Linemaker update, we think it’s a fun alternative to the gate system. It’s less predictable and quickly becomes challenging as time goes on.

Gatecrasher itself is an astounding game. Great game. We have dozens of friends who LOVE it just like us. But we’re all complaining about how Linechaser is money. Its so much fun but none of us will spend money on it. Its money just to play the second game mode. We’re begging you: please please PLEASE make more more and more game modes but make them free, please! Very few ads, addicting game, to the point, easy to restart, simple, awesome. We would recommend Gatecrasher to anyone and everyone but be warned: the other game mode costs money.

Challenging enough to review, And fun enough to get a good one.

When we saw the intro video for this game, we were immediately hooked. After playing it for just 30 minutes, we realize how much more awesome this game really is. The controls are absolutely perfect, letting you move around just enough to dodge the gates without a small tap throwing you halfway across the screen. It’s simple and fast-paced; razor-sharp focus is required. The hit boxes aren’t bigger than the gates themselves, which is a common annoyance we find in similar games. And the soundtrack is absolutely amazing (where can we buy it?). One small suggestion for you, Ben: rather than calculating score in the Scores list by the level you’re on, we think the score should be calculated by the number of gates you pass through. The level counter can still be there, along with gates remaining in that level, but an invisible score counter added for the number of gates passed through should calculate your score in the Game Center leaderboards. Also, for those times you can’t quite finish a good, long run right then, might we suggest a pause button in-game? Update for the new version: we love the new Linechaser mode! It’s super fun and pretty tricky! The one suggestion we would make (that it appears other people have also mentioned): please make Linechaser free! Instead of forcing people to watch ads to play a mode, consider showing ads about every five minutes or so, and only after ending a run. Or, consider a thin ad bar at the bottom while the game is running. Just don’t force people to watch ads to play modes; that gets annoying quickly and keeps people from playing the extra modes. And that’s why we knocked a star off for the update. Otherwise, it’s good!

We love this game it is addicting and hard to master for both game modes, but the hit boxes on the lines in Linechaser need to be small in the turns because we have been killed with line all the way to our right. Hope they fix this bug to make the game even better.

5 Stars because we freaking love super hexagon. 3 stars because originality is significantly lacking, and with only one tune, it quickly becomes annoying. Four stars over all. Also, high score is level 10. You know what’d be great? A purchasable perk allowing people to start at whatever level is half their high score. Or watching an ad for it. Going through to slow levels over and over is so tedious. What we used to like most about this game is how fast you died and were able to restart again. Now that we’re used to it, it’s so boring to go through 10 levels just to try and challenge our high score that we screw around at level 1 using the double finger bug, where holding right but tapping left allows for a flappy-bird like movement. Or simply only tapping right and seeing how many spirals our luck will allow us to pass through only using that one button. Would love an achievement for that btw. ;)

This game makes us claw our hair out, it’s impossible.

Some serious frame rate issues on iPad gen 5 on iOS 11.1.1. Was that, and linechaser will just crash for no reason (I have a video for you if you want it). Was looking for a way to get in touch with the developer but we dont see a way to do that. Feel free to email us.

It is unfortunate, but the arrows that make the line rotate clockwise and counterclockwise are opposite what they should be. I.e. The arrow pointing left makes the line rotate clockwise and vise versa. This should be the other way around, in our opinion. Also, when going through the spiral between levels, if you line up too close, you will crash half way through (but can make it part way?).

We are reviewing this app without even playing it. The reference in the description alone was worth rating this 5 stars.

Love the game! Really fun! But please add characters like a ninja line!

A simple concept with great execution.

This game automatically gets a 4/5 because it has no ads or micro transactions. Just a fun, little arcade game that’s great for killing time.

Great game! Great design. Simple controls. Good level progression. Good music. Loads of fun. Just a great job by the creators. But is level 6 impossible?

This is a phenomenal game the only problem is that it could use some check points. It is very frustrating to have to restart every time.

Hands down the best app description we’ve ever read!! It is simple, spin and don’t hit the gates.

This game is super fun and addicting, we have 0 problems with it. To all who complain about controls, they are supposed to be difficult, what’s the point of playing an easy game. Another reason it is difficult is because in other games you may need to beat really easy parts before it gets challenging, this games starts you at the fun part. (BTW you will get the hang of the controls after like 10 min, not that hard)

We have played this game for hours and we absolutely love it! Very challenging, very bright. We really enjoy the neon colors and the swirls it’s quite captivating. It would be nice if there were different soundtracks for the different levels, we think it would upgrade the coolness factor by +20 points man. Anyway, super fun! Love the game!
