Gemini – A Journey of Two Stars Reviews

Beautiful story telling game lovely.

We bought this game because of Tate 66 Whoops review. And wow, we are glad we did. That review basically says it all. Each of us will have a different view on the journey this gem of an app brings us. Leading and being led, to closeness and synchronization. Relaxing and slow to frustrating to powerful and strength and determination. This was our journey. We hope we can take another journey with these wonderful developers.

This game brought us to literal tears… The true meaning of this passionate journey is far beyond that of a mere "game". This work of art is one of very few epitomes of the sanctity of loves sacrifice, wether it be for mother, father, brother, sister, companion, friend, or even stranger. Though sacrifice contains a deep air of sadness "Gemini" still maintains a bright beam of happiness, while at the same time representing a symbolic meaning that is unique to each individual who takes the journey. To us, it symbolizes us… The everyday workers, the parents who give up they’re lives to provide for they’re families, the victims of depression and sickness who have to wage a war daily just to keep they’re heads above the waters, the children who were robbed of parental love. To us, we are the stars, we’re the glints of light that sink into the voids of darkness without the love and understanding of a fellow star… But with the love and understanding from another we so desperately need, we can rise… We can spread our wings and fight through the shadows. All we need is love. And though death comes for us all, it seems to us that to die in the place of Someone you love, or anyone really, is the best way to out-shine the shadows, and in the process have the comfort of knowing that the one/ones your gave yourself up for >Will< go on.

Great, great game. Seamless gameplay, beautiful soundtrack, compelling visuals, thoughtful subject matter. Buy now!!!!!!!!

Incredible story told in no words.

This game is art. All around, it’s a work of art. The music, the visual aspects, the ability to tell a story without words. The amount of deep stuff it made us feel and think about… We don’t know if half the messages were meant to be in the game or if we just came up with them because of it, and that just makes the game even better. And two player is incredible. Playing this with someone you care about (for us, our girlfriend), makes you feel really really close to them on a very deep level. It’s a great way to relate to someone. We rarely come across a game we can call art. This definitely counts and we’re telling everyone we know about it.

Just wow. We cant really put into words the message this game imparted on us. The interaction between the two beings says it all without a word being said. One cannot fly without the other, if one falls the other comes back, the interaction between the two was brilliant. Just absolutely breathtaking and beautiful. We cried. Thats all that really needs to be said.

We love the music, graphics, and story of this, but its too short for 2 bucks. Would love to see a new update to this such as an alternative ending, online multiplayer, new levels, etc. The final level is pretty challenging which we find it fun to play. We like to replay this entire game multiple times even though we could finish it in 1 hour or so. Customising the color of the 2 stars would also be a nice addition to the game.

The Game was really beautiful and pretty funny play but we finished it a Half an hour after we bought it then finished it again in 20 minutes we just seems like a waste of money so easy.

The game is undeniably beautiful, but way too short (maybe 2 hours of playtime, if not less). The lack of any tutorial is frustrating at first, it once you understand the control scheme and the overall philosophy of the game, its a joy to play.

Way too short. Its not worth paying money for yet. They need to add quite a few more levels.

On the plus side, this is a truly beautifully designed game with a heartfelt story. On the downside, the entire game will take you about 30 to 40 minutes to complete and it will leave you thinking, why did we pay 1.99 for this? Its too short for the price, thats all.

The game needs to be updated for iPhone X/XR/11 size screens with full screen mode support!

Even with it taking quite some time to actually figure out the controls finished this game in less than 30 minutes. Needs to be a bit longer to be worth the price.

Its very nice, relaxing, pleasant to watch and listen to, but you certainly cant interact with it other than go in one direction or another. We want our two bucks back because we feel like the developers didnt describe that what you see in the sample is all youre going to get. As others have pointed out, there are no instructions, no strategy, no point and you simply cannot interact with the game. There should be no charge at all for this, because its clearly in the development stage and needs work to be an actual game.

Game way, way to short… Especially since you have to pay for it. Seems like it had potential but came up short.. No pun intended.

We really wanted to like this, but after fooling with it for the most part of a half hour, we didnt see the point of it at all! First, theres no tutorial at all, so you dont know what to do! Tried this, tried that, and all we could deduce from it is that the music is relaxing and nice, but as far as game play is concerned, it seems you dance/merge with the other star, rising up, up, but then what?? Whats the reward for that? Pop some bubbles, wow… Nothing happens, and it just becomes boring. Whats there to do? Is that it? Thats not fun! It IS relaxing, but when nothing happens, it becomes frustrating! Im done with it and am deleting it. Theres nothing to keep our interest here!

Can’t play dual until pass single mode?

Just purchased game and opened it… Are the graphics really supposed to be this poor? The pictures and video in the App Store look crystal clear. We are running an iPad Pro. Is this game not made for optimal performance on iPad Pro? About to start game… Ill check back in later.

Its been so long since we purchased a game and when we finally do – this one – we have been completely swindled. Conned. Frankly robbed. All these reviews about crying and emotions and even gameplay are 100% bs. This game is nothing.

This game was unexpectedly profound. A very unique way of communicating an emotional message. Beautiful music too.

What a game. It was emotional and a real good metaphor about relationships. We could only think about one person and how much we love her.

The developers try to let us learn sth about relationships: distance, respond, sacrifice.. And the stages is arranged like a legency. Although it is short, it is ambitious! We think 2-player mode would be more charming.

This isn’t a long game. This isn’t a complicated game. But it’s a good one. They manage to tell a story using a couple circles that leaves an impression. We played through it twice. Great graphics and sound track. Two little circles manage a better story and more emotion then twilight.

We don’t leave reviews. This is more of an emotional journey than a game. Two entities working together to achieve something greater. Sometimes helping and even becoming the support for the other. The music is haunting and yet draws you into the experience. To those who have complained about its length: the music, environment and experience leaves you with so much the time seems irrelevant. One of the best parts is being able to play it with your partner. This is a must have.

Definitely use your headphones for this one, the music is wonderfully composed and arranged to help the story (which still is very vague after a few times through). Controls are intuitive, and the gameplay is smooth. The visuals are stunning and masterfully done. Our ONLY complaint: it’s too short. We know it’s an interactive poem – but give us some way to explore more in each level – make the levels a bit more challenging, instead of just keep going up. I’d like to see a little more hint at the storyline too… Love.. Loss.. Survival.. Protection; fill us in a little bit.

Pros: -Beautiful. -Easy to learn controls. -AMAZING music! -Incredibly artistic and emotion-evoking. -Two player mode (great for a romantic partner). Cons: -Short, don’t buy this thinking it will be your next addiction. -Multiplayer needs to be unlocked by beating it once (though that wont take long). -Part of the game involves dodging things, and your partner star (AI) can get hit by them, with no fault of your own. Not overbearing, just somewhat unenjoyable. Summary: Great game overall, with it’s cons being more about how much better it could have been than fatal flaws. Best played with a romantic partner (Hug mode), but you’ll need to run through it solo first. Hoping for a longer Gemini 2 in the future!

We just want to know how the heck you play this game?!? Ugh this would be a 5 star game if there were directions in the beginning!!

This is a job made by genius and sensitive professionals. We only felt they need to add more planets or constellations to travel by. We played once, thought it ended a bit fast, but the emotional feeling is intense enough to make be give this beautiful joy 5 stars, but, as we said, it needs to have more planets or cosmos-like scenarios for we to play. Can’t wait to have a girlfriend and play this with her. It’s about love. That’s what we noticed.

This game had a lot of potential.. But really fell short in the amount of game play… Was really looking forward to playing longer… Save you money.. :(

The game is soothing, the music is moving, but we have to disagree on the graphics. It may look fine on an iPhone or a smaller iPad, but the graphics and animations are blurry on our iPad Pro 12". Bad scaling?

We must be getting old. No clue what im supposed to be doing.

IT KEEPS POPPING UP A CAUTION MESSAGE WHEN we OPEN THE APP BUT we HAVE AN IOS 9.3.5 IPOD TOUCH AND IF THIS $3.00 GAME DOESNT START WORKING we WILL BE SO MAD we SWEAR TO GOD.

Whoever developed the metered clearly got the go ahead to make that the entire game. Like a certain point we get it. You run into meteors. Can we move on ever from that?? Ever??

We are pretty sure all the reviews that mention some sort of intense emotional response were paid for by the devs. – Yes, it’s pretty. The graphics are lovely, the music is peaceful and atmospheric, the movement of your star feels graceful even when you’re screwing up. – But dang is it short. You will finish this in less than an hour. – It does present some rudimentary emotional concepts through gameplay. But it’s not revolutionary and it’s not even super interesting. -If you cry after playing this game, it will be over the loss of your three dollars. Yes, that’s less than a fancy coffee drink. I’d rather have the drink.

The game was beautiful we felt like we were watching some kind of emotional story unfold the music was so so beautiful and emotional.

For an abstract game whose characters have no faces, this is an amazingly moving adventure. And beautiful!

We didn’t get it at first but once we were guided by our "partner", it became real. While the story is somewhat short, it was enjoyable and a break from all of the other genres. We give it 5 stars for creativity along with beautiful graphics and an excellent soundtrack. Well worth the few dollars. Play it in the dark in bed with some good headphones.

When we downloaded this game, we had no idea what to expect. When we opened the game the title screen itself was just breathtaking. Although the controls were difficult at first, it really does enhance the meaning and intentions of the story. The gorgeous graphics and amazing music complement the story perfectly.

We had never heard of this game up until a short while ago. This game is one that truly makes us feel for the characters on their journey. We love it, down from its attention to detail, right up to its amazing sound design. Well done everyone who had a hand in making this game. Well done.

Gemini shows us once again how a game can be art. We haven’t been more captivated by a cell phone game since god knows how long ago. It’s a marvel, a simple yet fun gameplay that feels as deep and immersive as the Galaxy where it begins. There are moments that we stopped and immerse myself in the touch music and magnificent universe. Beyond that, it makes us look back to the relationships in our life. It also makes us gratitude to everyone that walks into our life and somewhere accompanies us in our journey. We share experiences with each other but more importantly we elevate each other. Remember play the muti-player mode with someone important in your life, it’s a totally different experience. Hope everyone see this game, play this game, and leave in full and satisfied.

The art and music totally observers you into this game. It is simple but amazing. It is a pretty short game but totally worth it! We might of cried a little at the end.

One of the most visually stunning games we have ever played. Accompanied by a truly gorgeous soundtrack, this game represents a beautiful journey between two stars as they rise to the heavens and face challenges together. Truly brought tears to our eyes. Thank you for making such a beautiful game.
