Description

Heroes of Steel Elite includes the entire story (all 4 Episodes) – easily 120+ hours of epic story and content as you battle across the Underdeep. This game features no grinding – all continuous story. Please note there is no transfer of IAPs or character groups from Heroes of Steel RPG to Elite.

Command your party of four heroes as they fight to protect the last remnants of humanity. Born in a time of warring gods and dark powers, your four unlikely heroes embark on a grim journey set in the sprawling and immense post-apocalyptic medieval world of Steel.

It is the dawn of the Seventy First Year after the world has fallen. Four of the Thirteen Gods rose up against their creator, the All-Father, and destroyed him in a cataclysmic event. In the following years of darkness and ruin, the kingdoms of man fell in war and flame. In the final days before all was lost, under the guidance of an ancient order of druids, the survivors retreated to a mysterious underground labyrinth; the Underdeep. Now, in the Underdeep, the last remnants of humanity are scratching out a living and trying to rebuild a society, but are quickly discovering that evil has followed them beneath the surface.

Heroes of Steel is a tactical turn-based RPG in which you lead a group of four unique characters, each with their own talents, special powers, and abilities on their quest through the world of Steel. Engage in tactical combat with the ferocious, devious, and magical enemies who threaten humanity’s last settlements. You must decide how to develop each character’s individual strategy in order to build a powerful and dynamic team capable of triumphing over the impossible odds. As you traverse the sprawling world of Steel, your party will face a myriad of challenges, battles, extensive mazes and fearsome enemies of all varieties.

Savor full character customization, deciding how to increase your attributes, skills, and powerful talents. Equip each of your characters with a variety of weapons, armor, and up to three mundane or magical accessories. As your party explores the dungeons, cities and crypts of the world, you will decide the overall strategy and approach your team takes. Choose between hundreds of levels of talents and thousands of combinations of equipment.

Our indie role playing games dev team is actively continuing development to make this the top RPG. We are very receptive to feedback to help Heroes be the best RPG it can be.

With full control of every turn and aspect of your four characters, you can plan every turn with exacting control. Heroes was made for fans of adventure RPGs, board games, and roguelikes. If you enjoy strategy games or tactical RPGs, you will enjoy this classic RPG.

Heroes of Steel RPG Elite Reviews

Newer iPhones block part of the traditional rectangular screen with a speaker and rounded corners. This game does not take that into account, with key buttons inaccessible behind the speaker, and with buttons in each corner difficult to press.

One of the best RPGs out there.

Good story telling and excellent gameplay. Our only issue with Trese brothers games is their idea of what easy is. We play this game on easy and we’ve already died almost 50 times, and there doesnt seem to be anything we can do about the part Im on now. Same thing with Star Traders; Frontiers. We can win against most enemies but Xeno will beat you no problem on easy unless your away team is geared up with the best stuff and high level. Im going to keep trying because this game is so good, but its challenging. Thank you for making an awesome game.

We have been playing the games since the early days and still find myself coming back whenever there is a plot update. The characters are well written and the plot engaging. The different strategic scenarios and the tactics are varied and keep us thinking. We did have to wait a year for the climax but now that it is out we are back. Waited to write our review until the final plot release. Would have rated it 5 stars but the latest updated crashes the game just as it loads the final sanctum. We have been waiting 5 years for this and now we will have to wait for a patch.

Thoroughly enjoying RPG entertainment! Well balanced gameplay that keeps us excited to see whats next… Our only complaint is our thief has a bit of a hearing issue!

This game is so great but we hate doing story games. Wish there was a rogue dungeon option like pixel dungeon where you just go level to level and it gets harder and you have to keep everyone alive through randomized scenes and procedurally generated landscape.

We love this, its complex and big and not too difficult to get into, etc. But it crashes a bit, and there are lots of minor glitches, such as getting a danger reading from exploring or far-sight spells when actually its just a treasure chest or gem.

Indie developers? Awesome. Party-centered turn-based RPG combat? Great. Gear, monsters, classes, skills, and saving throws? Count us in. Unfortunately, the game lacks polish and has some clunky flaws. We didnt get very far into the game (only an hour or two), but it seems to draw VERY heavily from the Avernum series for PC. First, there is no cloud save (that Im aware of). We bought the game on our phone but it was a bit small so we tried downloading it to our iPad and theres no way to transfer the save file. Boo that. It also doesnt screen rotate, so when Im trying to play while our phone is charging, Im forced to play with the cord wrapped awkwardly around the phone. Menus are clunky (using potions on specific party members could really be improved), and the inventory/status views are bad. It feels like a very early version of a PC game instead of building on what works well for other games. New characters cost $2 each when were already paying a premium for the game itself. We love that indie developers are venturing into this space, but this version isnt worth the money to us.

Good old turn based RPG without any free-to-play nonsense. Easy to control on iPad. Nice story.

This game is amazing. For $5, its extraordinary… We wouldve paid $50 for games like this a while back. Its long, the dialogue is well-written (this alone makes this game unique in the App Store universe) and its a great strategy game. We play way too many games on our iPad… And this was the first big pleasant surprise we’ve had in quite a while. The App Store seems to be stagnant these days. As for the dude who rated it low because enemies level with you… Wow, what a d-bag. Every RPG is designed around enemies getting harder as you level up. We just had to say it. Creators, you guys rock! Ill keep an eye on the company!

If you like fantasy rpgs then definitely get this game! Its got an awesome story and fun rewarding turn-based gameplay . This is the first game we played by Trese Brothers and its definitely our favorite. So far we havent played a game by these guys that we didnt like, Trese Brothers are just awesome and we love to support them. We have bought this game and all characters/episodes on android and iOS and we did the same with a few of their other games. They are not out to get rich, just make awesome rpgs and they constantly update their games and are friendly and quick to respond to customers. We have so much respect for them. Thanks for being Awesome and making great games! You guys are our heroes!

We love the game but we really need the screen support for iPhone XS Max. It would be much better FULL screen. Thanks.

All enemies level with you, meaning theres no sense of growth or progress. We enjoyed the game until we realized this but quit playing almost immediately afterward as every battle felt pointless. We honestly dont understand this gameplay choice but at the least they could have made an option to turn it off. Instead it defeats the entire point of rpgs for us. If this issue doesnt bother you then you may enjoy the game, its got fairly decent combat and the dialogue is well written for an app of this budget. Its partly why we think the enemy leveling bothers us as much as it does; otherwise it would have been a very good tactical rpg.

We were unaware that half the characters would be locked behind a paywall. $2 each character which means to unlock the full game, youre paying for the game three times over. We dont support this method of cash grab. Requesting refund.

I’d say it’s like oblivion dungeon style with a Turn Based Strategy feel to it with a team mix feel like dragon age love love it.

We’ve barely gotten started, but it didn’t take long to see this is an incredibly well-crafted game. Controls are excellent, plot is great, writing/characterization is great. If you are into RPGs and can only afford the space for one, this is it. Well done.

If you like tactical turn based games this one definitely worth your time :-)

Every time we try and move it says path not found and our team is stuck in the krellin deeps. It’s very frustrating tapping on every square and not being able to go anywhere. Game was fine before last update. If fixed it would be five stars, until then it will sit in unplayable condition. Started a new game to see if that helped, same issue. Can’t move in or out of battles. Very frustrating to see a great game rendered unplayable by an update. Playing on ipad air. Edit: The bug was fixed within a day. Not many developers support their games like that. Game is awesome again, and we can move! Thank you!

UPDATE we didn’t buy HoS until after Templar Battleforce was released, so we didn’t get to experience all the growth this game has gone through. However, it has received 8 updates since we purchased it, each making the game run smoother, tweaking things, general quality of life enhancements and a few updates with added content. With these 8 updates, it has improved quite a bit. And 8 updates ago, we considered it one of the best strategy RPGs in the AppStore. While we wouldn’t put it above Templar Battleforce, that’s only by setting/story preferance. The gameplay here is just as solid, challenging and entertaining as the later. If you’re looking for a turn-based strategy RPG that’s deep and offers up an insane amount of content (120+ hours!!! – and it doesn’t just slog on or throw extreemly convoluted [and ultimately close to meaningless] upgrade/craft systems at you like some other 100+ hour SRPG titles…), this is one you should definitely check out. If you don’t like the price point, you can snag the free version and pay for each of the 4 episodes individually. Get sick of it? Don’t worry about buying any more episodes… Both are consistantly updated, so you don’t have to worry about not having something the other version has either. Great stuff. Developers like this are incredibly easy to want to support. GRAB THE ELITE STRATEGY RPG BUNDLE!!!! Totally worth it… original review our first experience with the Trese Brothers was through Templar Battleforce. When that came out, we looked up previous games by this unknown (to me) dev team, and saw that all of them had received some INSANE post-release support through updates. After that, we jumped on Templar Battleforce, and wound up LOVING it. We haven’t completed it yet, but once we do, we’re sticking with it until we can beat it on the hardest difficulty (of which there are 7!!!). Anyway – a week later and Heroes Of Steel is on sale – can’t beat $2 for a game that has grown SO SO SO much since it’s original release (and isn’t even done yet!). We (unfortunately) never had a chance to play this game pre-version 4, but ATM, it’s killer. It shares a lot with Templar Battleforce (though TB seems to have a deeper skill tree, kinda like their other game, 4X Empires), but they are totally separate beasts (kinda like Rodeo Game’s Hunters and Warhammer games). Anyway, if you’re into Tactical/Strategy RPGs, this is definitely a game you should check out. The added characters are kind of like Warhammer Quest’s extra characters (in that they don’t unlock any new areas, but do have completely different skills and weapon/item equips that you can mix in with your strategy, while removing part of your previous strategy [the character whom you’ll be exchanging for the new one]). We can totally see it adding a bit of depth and definitely to the replay value (I have no idea how much the story changes based on who you’re playing with as we haven’t completed our first game yet)… So chances are we’ll be picking them all up at the end of the story. =oP The Trese Brothers can safely say they have another fan that will jump on everything they release in the future.

We’ve played this game for a few months at this point, it’s a great pass-time! We recommend this game for players looking to experience a story driven, classic, turn-based RPG. With 8 unique characters with deep style customization there are many play styles. We don’t have many complaints for the content offered, though we have noticed a few pacing issues for players who are looking to set their own pace. We like the grouping system for characters, though we wish that they automatically regrouped after changing instances, dialogue, resting, and battle (it’s easy to forget the rest of your team on one side of the map located too far away from regrouping. Seriously, if you’re considering this game, get the free episode and know that it picks up once the training wheels are removed. It is amazing!

Reminds us of d&d and that’s a good thing:)

Great game to play until you get into a cavern with no way out. Currently have a high level party stuck in Sanctuary and the exit doesn’t actually work. Looks like we are moving on from an otherwise entertaining game.

Fun to play, well done, and worth the $4.

This game is so deep and layered. Writing is outstanding, character building is unique, combat is nail-biting, etc. You won’t regret picking this game up. Great support from developers Trese Brothers. All of their games are exceptional.

For those of you who remember. Only with far greater emphasis on combat. Sorry no attributes of the Avatar. :-) But definitely worth your time.

An immersive RPG experience, that allows for some serious replay-ability with different builds and/or different characters. We enjoyed every minute and it’s well made with good animations/art models to boot. (That means you fallen.) A full mobile, D&D like experience that will enrapture your imagination for the many hours it takes to complete.

We only give it a 4 because it is not the normal rpg style we enjoy but the gameplay is smooth and so far engaging. We enjoy having access to all game content and do not mind having to pay for extra character paradigms. One option that should be released is a build your own paradigm. Players should have the ability to purchase a character they can mold into their desired warrior.

This game has a great story, interesting mechanics and a simply terrible combat mechanic that ruins everything else about it. Enemies level up as you do, which is fine. Enemies that cannot be hit by any attacks and never miss is not ok. At level 25 on our thief, we have maxed out bows and dexterity, +7 ranged accuracy from gear and a bow that has 6 accuracy on it. Using a skill that adds an additional 9 to accuracy. 9 misses in a row. Also, we didn’t mention that it’s an area of effect attack and there were five enemies in the attack zone. So that’s actually 45 misses. At the same time, our outlander has 70 armor, +9 parry, +9 dodge and gets hit 80% of the time, often for nearly as much damage as it’s possible for the enemy can do. It’s like the developers didn’t even try to make it believable. Now let’s talk about when we actually hit. From what we understand of the game mechanics; at least as they are (terribly) explained in game, armor is supposed to reduce incoming damage. So when our attacks have a range of 65-85 and the enemy has 20 armor we should be dealing 45-65. Which leads us to question how exactly a character can deal 2 damage on an enemy with 26 armor when just the +damage we have on an attack is 92. Plus the weapon damage which is 37-58 or something close to that. Our minimum damage should be over 100 after armor and we hit for 2. When the enemy has 450 hp, hitting for 2 means you are going to die. Make it believable guys! We’re thinking about seeing what options we have regarding getting the money we paid back. Do yourselves a favor and skip this game; it isn’t worth it.

They keep updating an already sturdy RPG. Fun to play, good story line. I’d love to see this game continue to grow and maybe begin a series with more immersive control of your players’ rise.
