Best Mega Man style game on the App Store. Tons of challenge and replay value. Terrific mobile game.

This is our Favorite game! We have it on many platforms. The iOS version is the best though. The controls are the best Platformer controls on a touch screen that we have played. We wish it would get updated for newer screen sizes but it is still playable and really good! Please keep this game updated!!!

This game is amazing. If you like 2d platfomers then get this game. Imagine a more linear cave story.

Kero is Japanese onomatopoeia for ribbit. You are a frog and ya blast stuff. It is so awesome and also the controls are great on iOS and the game is fun, graphics rock, the whole experience is way worth the money. We beat it in one semi-long sitting on a trans-Atlantic flight and the hours flew by. Pixel did it again, and in a different way than Cave Story. Pocket size Pixel rules too!

This game is soo good the music great it looks so amazing just one thing in the final boss aginst your boss the first min was a song from cave story WE GET IT PIXEL YOU MADE CAVE STORY.

A masterpiece that feels like a forgotten classic on an obscure cartridge that no one played. Flooding over with charm and controls optimized with a touchscreen in mind make it easily the best iOS game available in its genre. Do yourself a favor and play Kero Blaster.

Amazing controls and great game all around, but it’s really short and a bit on the easy side. Can’t way for a steam version.

This game has been a constant on our phone but now we like using a controller on our phone and we just wish we could use one on this game.

This is one the best games you’ve made, Pixel! We have a question, though… The Kuro Blaster locations have been changed in this version. Now, instead of being in a hidden cavern with the red eyed blobs from the game (because the icon resembles them), it’s now in a glitchy area with random enemies, stage features, and various other things. Why was this done? Other than that, Great game! We hope more features come soon.

Having just as much charm as cave story. This game is truly amazing.

Why aren’t more people talking about this game? It’s basically perfect. We would give it 6 stars if we could.

Studio Pixel does it again! It’s like a shorter (but not too short!) version of Cave Story with touch controls. Highly recommended.

If you consider yourself an iOS game enthusiast who enjoys high-quality action platformers, you will love Kero Blaster. Fun original story and music. Charming graphics. Spectacular design. Solid controls for mobile. Challenging gameplay with a great progression. Gun upgrades are awesome. For its genre, it’s a true work of art. Addressing the other side: it is a little expensive for its game length, especially when compared to most freemium iOS titles today. This isn’t an open world adventure game or some repetitive game of endless grinding. It’s a relatively simple retro action platform game designed and developed to perfection. Sure we wish it was a little longer, same with all the best parts of life. For us it was worth every cent. Glad to support devs who go above and beyond like this. We recently went through our purchased apps on iTunes and made a list of our top iOS games with 45 total. Thinking back to playing Kero Blaster literally made us smile. It’s definitely in our top 5 if not number one. Retro Action Platform Score: 11/10.

Ah, Kero Blaster. Such a wonderful game from the creator of Cave Story. It fuses Rockman, Contra, and Metroid. It is short but it offers a New Game+ if you aren’t satisfied with your game. It was an odd and quirky world full of odd characters and a unique environment. Bottom line, Kero Blaster is freaking amazing and is a classic anyone can enjoy. EDIT 1/27/17- The game got even better. New Zangayou mode. You’ve got to play this game.

A fairly linear run and gun platformer, perfectly executed. The weapon variety, the enemy types and the level design all work together beautifully for a game that is a joy from beginning to end. The difficulty level is perfect as well. If it gets too hard, you are naturally gaining more gold with each attempt, that you can use to buy better weapons and more health. We are surprised we haven’t seen the control scheme copied by anyone yet, as it is brilliant. Your frog auto fires in one direction, but you can swipe on the fire control button to start shooting in a different direction. If you’ve played Cave Story, how much was it worth to you? $20? $40? And how much did you pay? $0? Part of a humble bundle? Chances are you still owe Pixel at least another $10 or so.

We love it. The music, the art, the story, the challenge… Its all here! If you want a serious game experience with real love put into it, this is it. We get a strange Earthbound vibe from this too. Its probably the unique interpretations of real life things. So if you like that vibe, this game brings it to life in action sidescrolling shooting goodness! Also, this game is a lot longer than we thought! Really happy about that. We want more games like this!

One of the best action platformer shooters we’ve ever played, on a phone or console or handheld or anywhere. This game’s great! Very replayable. Story and world is so charming. Lots of content with a Hard Mode being basically an entirely new game.

Good game finely a great platformer with no bs in app purchases.

This game is so fun. Fun art style, charming story, great mechanics. Totally worth the $ and does an amazing job at saving progress. You can play a bit, walk away from it and pick up where you left off. We love a game that sits nicely between casual and more serious gameplay. We want to play more games from this studio. They totally get it.

We are in disbelief that this game isnt top 100. Kero Blaster is an absolutely wonderful game. Polish is the word, polish indeed. It goes for an NES aesthetic, a frequently sought after goal. However this game doesnt come across with "an NES aesthetic"; it comes across as an NES game you just never played. We can find no flaw in this game, not one. Don’t let the price tag bother you- it is worth ten times that amount. Viva Studio Pixel!

Fun! Challenging! Retro! Worth every $$$! The level up system and the diversity of every gun made this game so worth while. The strategy needed to beat each level was all dependent on your style of play or your use of guns. The same goes for beating the sub bosses and bosses. It took us a while to finally play this game and we only regret not playing it sooner. Keep in mind… There are no iap’s so everything is attainable in game. And though the levels at times may seem unforgiving, they’re also very lenient. A really fun challenging game that is so worth playing to the very end!

One of the very few "actual" games in the App Store. Like when you bought a Gameboy game and it was the whole thing; an entire game with no extra app purchases or DLC. 90% of the App Store’s games are In-App purchase milk machines, that were built from concept to final product with maximization of profit in mind. This game doesn’t follow typical mobile game play-style. It harkens back to a time when the thought put into a game was not only recognized, but appreciated. Not everyone is able to see the work put into this game, but those that do will find this game pretty special. If only we could use a controller with physical buttons. Don’t forget to check out Pink Heaven. It’s like a teaser version of this game, but still great nonetheless. If you liked this game, you might also like Mutant Mudds. Have fun!

Believe when we say this is one of the best platform game ever made for ANY platform. It’s fun. The story is super super long. It’s comical. A MUST buy. Try it and you won’t be sorry.

Maker of cave story! We didn’t believe the hype! How could a dumb pixel frog with a gun make for a good game? But this game is completely engaging with one of the most charming worlds and stories we’ve experienced. Yes it’s a shooter- but the world is complete and fascinating! Gameplay is refined and truly challenging on the hard mode second play through. However we never feel completely frustrated or discouraged! A great balance. Well worth full price imo.

Great game made with lots of love. Also it has a cute story and characters. Don’t miss it!

We are in love with anything that Pixel Studio makes, and this game is no exception. The concept can charm a fox out of his socks especially the Overtime Mode- very cute! This game has so much replay value. We really hope Studio Pixel will make more games like this! You guys are the bes.

Over the years we’ve bought at least 100 games. KeroBlaster is by far the best. It is engaging, well designed and just fun to play. We are sad that we have completed it. All other games bore us.

Why aren’t people taking notice of this? This app is so good!

If you’ve played Pixel’s previous title, Cave Story, you’ll certainly enjoy this game. It looks charmingly simple on the surface, but it’s got some real challenge to it, whether it be platforming or level hordes of enemies. Rushing through this game really isn’t an option, even when the controls are only jump, move, and shoot. You’ll also be happy to know that there’s more to it than the initial story; Hard mode offers even more challenge while changing the layout of levels, and even after that there’s one more mode to play through. The narrative isn’t as deep as Cave Story, but this game makes up for it with its overall tight controls and action.

Pixel, the indie developer behind the gaming masterpiece Cave Story, provides a simpler and more linear game in Kero Blaster that feels both familiar to its predecessor and a bit different. Any substantial story has been left out and what’s left is a fully gameplay oriented game with a decent amount of content, fantastic sprite art, great chiptunes, and an overall fantastic time. Also to be noted are the controls that work perfectly on a mobile device.

As someone who adores Cave Story, this is another great game of a similar type. If you have played Cave Story, it has a bit less plat forming and weapon options, but every weapon is useful and mastering them all is essential. The hard mode provides a decent challenge, but never too challenging that you feel frustrated. With a great soundtrack to boot, it is easily worth the price, especially if you want to help Pixel develop more games in the future.

Please ad mfi controller support!!!

We finished the story over about three days, loving every moment. We’ve been playing through hard mode and it’s joyous, but the last level is broken somehow. After we defeat the skinny goon in the business suit, our platform rises into the sky and we die instantly before we can explore a cloud world. We don’t know what’s happening, but we really want to finish this amazing game!! Please fix it :(

We never been a big fan of way of the people make games with horrible graphics. Ten or twenty years ago we know games didn’t look as good as they can now. But that was how it had to be. Now it’s just people who want to make games and use poor looking graphics. Graphics aren’t everything and that’s only part of the rating. We expected more. More story, more personality. Something to make this game more than a retro shooter. We knew what the game looked like before buying but by the ratings we expected something more exciting. If the game was cheaper it would get a higher rating. It’s not that all retro or games with poor graphics get poor ratings from us. Minecraft with its dated look would be worth the price and high rating. Why? Because your imagination can run wild and you can create all kinds of things. This game has the dated look down, but doesn’t offer enough at the price it charges.

Should be a free game. Not worth even 1 dollar. Do not waste your money.

One of our favorite iPhone games just got better. If you have trouble with the new hard mode, just be patient and grind away.

Kero Blaster is that rare game which strikes us to the core with satisfaction. Excellent music which is at once unique (level-to-level and as a whole) and nostalgic. Beautiful art design and animation, which is at once simple and charmingly detailed. Superb, challenging level design punctuated by the game’s enigmatic storyline. Excellent replayability (alternate endings, unlockables, challenge/"overtime" mode) buy this game goddamit.

The new content is great. All of the enemies and bosses have been remixed and practically a brand new game. Final stage and plot with the extra levels are also brand new and are just awesome. Still a must play game.

We got it on day one. But we can’t believe there is no reviews.

This game is very innovative with its control scheme. Never played anything like it on iOS. It’s a must buy if you like platformers with charm.

Seriously you won’t regret it. It’s the best action platformer on iOS.

Unexpected update with hard mode is really great! Basically doubled the content in the game and it’s kicking our butt at level 2. Love it!

UPDATE Kero Blaster’s newest update fixed the short length and added an entirely new story. And best of all, it’s all free! You guys definitely deserve to get a spot in the best new game updates section! Story: The update adds a story about the office workers trying to work for a vacation at a hot spring. Just like the original, it’s really funny and well done! Gameplay: The levels have been comepletely revamped and are hard as hell, but really fun. Graphics There are tons of new graphics for new enemies and they all look really nice! Fantastic update! Can’t wait to see more! Kero Blaster excels in almost every way. With its catchy soundtrack, unique art style and frantic gameplay, it’s one of the best run and gun games on iOS. That’s said however, it does have some flaws. For one, it’s very short, especially for a 5$ game. Less than 10 levels is really disappointing. Although we do prefer quality over quantity, it’s still hard to just glance past the fact that you’re paying so much for so little. We also found the bosses a little aggravating, since we wish we could just shoot down like in Cave Story. Even spending all our money on weapons on our second play through still made it feel like we couldn’t shoot where we wanted to. Even with these flaws, we still had a great time.

At first we have doubt because of the price we took the plunge after reading reviews and the content update Its really marvelous The control is spot on The graphics are gorgeous The musics are excellent WOW.

It was always one of the greatest iOS games and this new unexpected update it’s now even better!

We have beaten it so many times, and cannot wait to pls the new levels in this update.

This excellent platformer gets an unexpected update of several stages; can’t wait to play through the game again and unlock them!

While it’s not an entire multiple hour game like Pixel’s other game Cave Story, but for a mobile game it is fantastic. The weapons are well made and the damage is really balanced. The level design is great and pulls a Mega Man X and teaches you game mechanics by introducing a harmless challenge, and then implementing the same idea in a more risky, dangerous situation. The game doesn’t feel unfair; every challenge is laid out before you, and you’re left to figure out the best route. The game doesn’t hold your hand and some enemies can be challenging if you don’t use the right weapon for the right situation. The challenge is similar to Castlevania; the game follows a completely linear path and has planned enemies at certain points. There’s no RNG that spawns different monsters in different areas, so the game is more about skill and spatial awareness than having to try and get your character as strong as possible to plow through levels. The bosses are interesting and fun, we definitely don’t mind losing a few times before we get the pattern down. That’s really our only complaint, the game is simply too short and there aren’t too many weapons. The graphics and art are great, and the NPCs are entertaining and have interesting and sometimes comical things to say. The "President’s" dialogue is great. We would say if you’re looking for an old school experience and you enjoyed Cave Story, you’ll love this. As well known and loved as Cave Story is, we’re a fan but don’t consider it one of the best indie games ever made… We are still a fan and glad we spent the $5 on Kero Blaster! Definitely worth the price for a single player offline action platformer.

Hard games are always the most interesting games. And this one is HARD.
