Description

DRAW, PLAY AND BLUFF, FOR ONLY ONE SUITOR WILL BE ABLE TO WIN THE HEART OF THE PRINCESS

You and other suitors are prepared to do anything to get your love letter to the princess. She’s shut herself inside her palace, so you’re forced to use go-betweens to deliver the message. Guards, princes, the king, the countess… Who will turn out to be the best ally to help win your beloved’s heart?

You only ever have two cards in your hand. Draw and play your cards to get closer to the princess. Everyone staying in the castle could aid you in their own way: guards and princes can help discredit letters from other suitors, priests will give you precious information about your rivals while the handmaiden will protect your letter at any cost!

As the game progresses, you’ll have to think strategically, bluff and try to read your opponents’ game. When the deck is used up, the card in your hand will be the character holding your letter for the princess. The strongest card, i.e. the character who’s closest to the princess, wins!
Send the other suitors packing, gain the advantage and win the game. Let’s get started!

Features:

  • Simple rules and quick turns in this game adapted from the multi-award winning card game Love Letter
  • 1 to 4 players
  • Play in single-player mode against the computer, against your friends in local multiplayer or face suitors from all over the world in online mode
  • 16 cards representing 8 types of characters found at the Court: Guards, Priests, Barons, Handmaidens, Princes, King, Countess and of course the Princess

Available languages: French, English, Spanish, Italian, German, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Russian.

Love Letter – Card Game Reviews

Perfect for fast play when you have a few minutes. Challenging without being frustrating. Just the right amount of depth and strategy, not too easy, not too hard, some luck too. The AI is very balanced. Customizable options (like how many tokens it takes to win) add great variety of play. Everything runs so smoothly. This has become one of our favorite card games ever. Priced so fairly too. Thanks you!

This game is awesome! We recently bought it to try it out and help us decide if we want to buy the physical game. So far, we have only experienced one crash. The rest of the time, the game runs very smooth and is one of the best card/board game apps we’ve played. The gameplay is super addicting and we love the slight animations added to each card. Great work!

If you havent played this its great! We have loved the card game for a long time, and am happy to have found the app. Just as enjoyable! Playing with a friend takes an extra step to set up a private game, but its not too bad.

Update since bug fix Works great now. True to the card game. Well done.

We played the irl version of this in a mental hospital. So much fun!!!

Simple fun, high stakes and quick rounds. Like poker but not scary. Good AI for single player, not many multiplayer opponents. No pass and play :) still worth the price.

We really like this game. We own Lovecraft Letters and it would be AWESOME if that version were available as well or if various versions could be purchased as an in app purchase. We know there are numerous versions and everyone will have their favorite. Our only complaint, and it is with most board/card games gone digital, is that you cant play via bluetooth with people around you in the same room. This would be a great game to play with friends or family members when sitting and waiting for an event or show or out camping where no wifi is available. This game is so fast and fun to play. We would give this game 5 stars if we could be free of wifi and be played locally over bluetooth. Keep up the great work.

Its a good game but were is local multiplayer no pass and play/play on same device Im mad about this Because you said that there was local multiplayer but theres not pls actually make a local multiplayer like you promised.

With the big box dlc released, we were hoping theyd update this game for 5+ players to allow for the new cards. These cards include: Card (number in card): description: Assassin (0): when someone plays a guard card on you the person playing the guard is out. Joker (0): Pick someone you think will win the round. If they win the run, you also get an affection token (heart). Guards (1) (I think theres three more added) Cardinal (2): pick two players to trade hands and look at one of them Baroness (3): Choose one or two players, look at their hand(s). Sycophant (4): Pick a player. If the next card played has an affect, that player must be chosen for that effect. Count (5): if this card is in your discard pile, add one to the card you are holding at the end of the round (if you are still in and no more cards in the draw pile) Constable (6): If this card is in your discard pile, and you get eliminated from the round you get an affection token. Dowager Queen (7): Pick a player. Look at each other cards, the higher number is out. Bishop (9): Pick a player. Guess any non-guard card they have, if you guess it right, you get an affection token. The player you guessed is not out but may or may not discard their card. At the end of the round, the princess beats the bishop (unsure how bishop works on Baron and Dowager Queen with the Princess). These cards add an extra layer and a ton of fun for 5+ players! Highly recommend adding these!

We would definitely recommend anyone to buy this game (especially if they already own it IRL). This is super fun, easy to learn, and casual yet engaging. The options within app could be fixed however. That is, we wish for that public play was more like how it is done in Mysteriumindividuals open a game that others can then join & we can play with AI. (This is the one game we dont mind too much to play with AI.) The latter wish applies to the private game as well; we wish we could set up a game with optional AI.

It needs proper asynchronous play but its a great start.

Please add the spy and chancellor! 0 and 6.

App works pretty well. Needs async multiplayer. Needs new iPad Pro screen sizes. Hope they bring the other versions assuming they can. Would love the Batman and LotR versions.

Doesnt even open on the XS Max. Waste of money until they fix it. Edit: the developers were able to address the issue within a week of release. The game plays very well and is quite enjoyable!

We recently played this game in real life and was eager to keep playing, and excited to find an iOS version. After a bit of playing, heres our feedback: * There are some nice touches, such as seeing the specific effect of each card thats been played. * The text is almost impossibly small, on an iPhone 12. * Quit the app and your game in progress disappears. This was how iOS games worked in like 2009? Unacceptable in 2022. * The second edition adds some cards and is a lot of fun. Too bad its nowhere to be found here.

Why cant physical game conversions be as well done as carcassone? Its been 10 years and nobody is trying as hard as they did.

Game delivers exactly what we expected except for one thing: no pass-and-play functionality (huge downside) Is Love Letter Premium coming?

The app is fine but If you are hoping to play with other users online dont download it just yet . There arent enough payers and sometimes you end up waiting until youre frustrated and exit yourself. This Is not the experience we expected from a paid app.

We love this game. Its great for on the go while Im on break at work. We play it every now and then for a quick game. We really wish they would update it with the newer game version with all the new cards. The lack of variety makes the game difficult to approach at times. Thats why Im giving it 3 stars at this time. Other than that, its still a fun game.

This app is very well written. Clean, easy to use. However the AI is extremely frustrating. It will target the human player more often, even at the expense of losing the entire game. We’ve watched the AI choose to target us with 0 wins when other players are 1 from victory. We’ve watched the AI pick guard on us 3x in a row before we’ve played, resulting in matches where we played in 1/3rd of the games at all. We’ve watched the AI use a guard on us when they literally traded hands with another player just before. We did have a lot of fun with the game before we started to notice and definitely got our moneys worth over time. So its more like the game is 4-5 stars to start then declined to 2 for us.

Why do app developers feel the need to add so much unnecessary animation? Your cards pulsate like blinking lights. The characters themselves sway back and forth. Its distracting, and actually made us a little queasy. We deleted this game.

This games AI players are mediocre at best. The often guess the exact same thing the previous AI player guesses. This game is about card counting and inferring information, neither of which the AI players have the ability to do. If you are looking to play fast games solo, then do not buy this app.

The game is pretty, the game runs well. There is no online multiplayer presence. The computer AI leave so much to be desired. If we were you Id play on board game arena.

How do they miss this basic function of one of our favorite card games? Its infuriating! We will change this review if they ever add the most logical feature to this game.

We want to be able to send an invite and start a game all asynchronously – otherwise we have to babysit this dang app until the game starts. Also wish we could just invite them and have app do notifications rather than sending text…

Can barely read even the opening menu on iPhone 11 waste of time.

All the rules didnt make sense to us. Ill try the physical game. Digital card games vs ai are pointless without win/loss tracking, stats and achievements.

No longer adds score to Leaderboard. Multiple support mails go unanswered. Last update over 3 years ago. Developer seems to have abandoned app.

The best part of the game is missing.

The description includes 1-4 players and local multiplayer. It absolutely does not include local multiplayer.

Be warned if you just glance over the description like we did, one bullet point states 1-4 players but its apparently in a different bullet point that reveals it doesnt include pass & play! The physical version is a game our partner and we love to sit down to for a few rounds right before bed, and we thought buying the digital iPad version would be a perfect substitute for us… We were wrong! DO NOT PURCHASE if you are looking for local multiplayer pass & play because for some boneheaded reason the devs couldnt be bothered to implement what should be a core necessary feature for all iOS tabletop games.

Just downloaded. The game is stuck in half screen as if in landscape but built for portrait so you only see have the screen. Not matter what we do it wont change. Spend $3.99 for a game we cant even see on our screen. Fix or refund needs issued.

We would totally change to 5 stars if the multiplayer allowed us to fill open spots with AI. Like, we should be able to set the desired number of players and then whether or not we want empty spots filled with AI when the game starts. The constant 2-player games that result are not as enjoyable. There should also be local pass and play, but Im more interested in local multiplayer as long as everyone is on the same WiFi or Bluetooth.

Really like Love Letter, really hoping the premium edition options are added.

Opens for about a second before crashing on the XS Max.

IPhone Xs here. App crashes on launch every time.
