A Glimpse into Lyrical Letters

When I was a young boy, my momma bought me a tiny Casio keyboard from a Sears Bargain Centre. Now Sears is gone, and Casio isn’t cool anymore.

Or is it? Anyhoo…

You know what is cooler than cool? Having a hi-lo-fi digital keyboard word game right in your back pocket. Synthesizer? Check. Chiptune? Check. Guitar? Check. Clever word puzzles? Double-check.

Also cool? You can record and share your own songs with friends. Boo-yah!

But how do you play, son? Glad you asked. Listen carefully to a sequence of notes and play them back in the correct order to form a word. Learn to play music, improve your vocabulary, keep your kids occupied for hours on end, train your ears to hear notes, and impress your friends by playing the song from the movie Big. The possibilities are endless.

Part Simon. Part word match. Part dictionary. All good.

Word (pun intended).

Welcome to Lyrical Letters.

Game features:

  • 8 instruments perfectly tuned for an iPhone
  • 3D Touch enhanced
  • ReplayKit : record and share songs with your friends!

Having perfect pitch, we feel that this is really fun and enjoyable. However, we think that the game could be a little more challenging as we go thru, fantastic game overall, great job!

No link to buy no ads option. Corrected: we purchased no ads long ago and continue to enjoy the game.

The graphics are amazing and very visually appealing. We think the concept is a very unique one and is incredibly fun. We think if you were to include sharps and flats (maybe when the puzzle is turned off as they dont work well for the word games) it would take this to a whole new level.

We hope this app is good cause we want to improve our music data cause music is so boring at school so Im going to see if this app helps at all.

Love the game concept and retro design!

We loved the tribe called quest reference we wonder how many people picked up on it.

The game is fun. Very fun. Very relaxing as well. We have a suggestion which we feel could make the game easier instead of having to repeat every note until you get the right one your looking for. We feel like there should be a way to play a specific note in the sequence. Example: say theres 4 notes in one sequence and youve already found the first two and you want to hear the third one again but you have to play each sound again just to hear the third one., maybe make a way to where you could tap on a specific note in the sequence so you dont have to continue the whole sequence again and you can just listen to that single note. Of course dont make it infinite uses… Make it so maybe you only have a certain amount of uses per hour or so dont make it so you only have a few per day then that would just be very annoying.

We like it. It really helps with recognizing notes by ear. Our only problem is that we find theres no real reason to have the black keys play only percussion. Maybe replace them with real notes and then add another difficulty that includes them in the puzzles. Or you could add an option to switch the sounds they have. Other than that, it has real potential. Thank you for making this!

At first we couldnt get enough of this cute little musical word game! What an ingenious idea mixing the notes on the keyboard with spelling! However, if you have difficulty hearing pitch, this isnt the game for you! Which is a shame, as the game gets harder when it begins mixing two pitches together and you have to find both notes! That is not easy for the trained ear, let alone the untrained ear. Great concept, but lacking consideration for the musically challenged.

We grew up w a Casio Keyboard from Walmart too ! Um, The black keys play random noises. Whats up w that? Fix this and 5 stars. Its our new default keyboard app. Keep rockin !

Theres not a lot of depth to the game. It doesnt really get harder. Not having the black keys is somewhat silly, the drum sounds are useless. The ads every 2-3 puzzles have killed the enjoyment for us. A bit too much.

This is a great app to get to learn each letters sound and tune on the piano , but the biggest problem we have is you guys decided to add a drum kit to the black keys instead of making them the Flats and Sharps that they are . That makes no sense at all and should be fixed . The piano should just be the piano not a drum kit as well. Pleas fix that!!!!!!

Directions? Help? Looks fun and very attractive but soooo frustrating. Perhaps should mention that?

We hear the tones. Then we try to replay them. Then. Then. We forget what they were… And theres no replay button.

So Im very confused it looks like a great game with great reviews so we download it but we play the first level we get it wrong we try again like it said and it isnt saying yes or no and it not going on we delete and try again it does the same thing so what do we do ?? We were connected to internet and such as well.

When making an app, its important to make money. We get that. But to have an ad in the first minute of the game just makes our blood boil. Id rather pay $2 than have ads, and Im sure Im not alone in saying this. Outside of that, the app we were expecting was one that could help kids learn the whole scale. Instead we got bombarded with drums when we press the sharps. Rethink it and make it cost something and Ill buy it.

For like music people this is really entertaining and at that same time some great practice for your ear. And this game is so cute we love it. And we love word games. Thank you for this game its amazing.

This is one of the best games we’ve ever played . It helps kill time while teaching you piano and you learn your piano notes while solving fun little puzzles 5 stars for us hope to see you create more game likes this in the future.

So when we were messing around with pianos, we noticed the chip was really cool, but none of the notes sounded good together. Also the delay is kinda annoying, it seems like it keeps going a whole second after, Im not sure if these are each sampled individual notes, but it would be nice if you could fix these issues. All and all, very fun game, and puzzles! Keep up the good work!

We were in the beginning when it was showing how everything works and every time we pressed next there was like a 3 second delay.

Glitches whenever we try any notes. 0/5.

Simple concept, perfect execution.

The Remove Ads button is a link to other games, while the Other Games button doesnt work. Please fix. So far we are enjoying the game, but we hate ads!

We cant see where this option is.

Its a fun game. We love playing music and this is a fun way to play with piano keys on our downtime. Im just so tired of seeing the same ad after completing two or three words.

But its an amazing puzzle for people who are actually musically inclined, which we are not haha good looking graphics though!

Great game especially if you know a little piano. The only problem is their are to many ads. And when you click on remove ads it just pops up more games to download from the developer instead of giving an option to remove them. Id gladly pay to remove them so we wouldnt be interrupted so often. If that were fixed it would be 5.

Lovely games but kinda hard to master.

Im only on the first few levels so this is ridiculously easy – hoping it gets harder. Its so easy, however, that it takes us less time to get through the two levels Im given before the ad starts than it does for the ad to play. Luckily, theres a remove ads button that Id be happily willing to pay for. Problem solved! Right? Nope. Because that button takes us to other games by the designer, NOT a way to remove those unnecessarily excessive annoying ads. We like this game, but not enough to put in 20 seconds of gameplay per 30-second ad. Please give us a way to actually remove them, or better yet, give us more game per ad session so we feel like Im actually doing something.

Its an interesting game but an ad in between each puzzle is a bit much, Also the ads seem to freeze the game so you have to constantly go back out and in.

IT CANT LOAD! LOOKED #SOFUN! # LIFE OVER.

Good at first but KICKED ME OFF!!!!!!!!!!

Too slow paced. When playing the hint/answer it just drags on. Getting the correct answer but the wrong octave is frustrating. Either make all octaves count or limit the keys to one octave. Also, the ads are horrendously long, unskippable, and theyre the type that you accidentally tap on when aiming for the X.

We recommend this game because it is creative and fun to play. Its great for people who like puzzles. Also people who play the piano and are well at it will get the hang of it. But do keep in mind that it gets harder the more and more you play (solve) the puzzles. We give this game a 5/5 for being creative and puzzling.

This game is really fun, and has a cute UI. We love it!

We havent experienced any bugs in this game yet. Its got a nice charming aesthetic and can help train your ear. The only problem we have with this app is that when you answer a level and it plays your answer back to you, its very slow, especially in the beginning levels. Its a lot of just sitting there waiting for the audio to finish. However, this isnt a major issue and Im still rating five stars.

Hi!! We preordered this game and when we tried it, it was great! We have a little suggestion though. It might be hard to program or even add, because of copyright. BUT, what about adding song lyrics? It would be a great addition!

This game is not only a puzzle game, but a keyboard as well! It also helps with learning notes!

We pre ordered this game so worth it you have to find the keys and its so fun recommend it to people who love the piano like me.

We play in a marching band so its a fun way to practice being able to match a pitch with its letter name.

Awesome game! It will go viral for sure!

This is the perfect game for training your ears for perfect pitch, wether you love music like we do, or want to learn it. We played all of the 117 levels in one day without really using any hints. Plus, the solid, modern colors and design of the app are just beautiful. Frosty Pop is so good with their graphic designs. If there was an update for this app, we would love to see a harder mode with new levels that includes sharp and flat pitches, rather than just natural ones (That was a missed opportunity. We dont really care for the percussion sounds on the black keys that much).

Going through the game we really enjoyed, but what we thought was a little saddening was in the No Puzzle mode we really wish you could enable sharp notes so we could at least record with some sharp notes. But overall, the app is amazing for us and our family members.

Its a pretty fun app. Im learning how to play but also having fun. We recommend it but, we wish it would teach you how to play a song instead of the letters.

Cute & charming and a great way to test your pitch. Would love 2 things: 1. A way to speed up song playtime, especially if you get it right and its just playing it back to you 2. Sharps and flats on the song mode!
