Minesweeper is a classic, throwback PC game that provides hours of fun – plus this version is great for iPad!
The game is simple, try to avoid the bombs to clear the minefield to win the game! Strategy and logic are needed to navigate the multiple levels of difficulty. Monitor your progress with the brand new stats tracker to keep tabs on your progress and try to beat your best times! This retro minesweeper game is just like the original and provides great fun.

How to play:

We used to play this game all the time years ago. We recently tried to get back into it only to find out that the app we once paid for (this was supposed to be the pro version) now has ads and is trying to get us to pay $9.99/mo for a subscription. The UI used to be seamless and now is glitchy. The ads make the game experience miserable. Will be looking for an alternative.
This used to be a simple, fun little game to play. This latest update, added advertising, collected information (why does it need our birthday? Probably to engage in some business arrangement). When you finish a game, it brings up other ads and opportunities for other programs. What a way to kill a good program. We guess its time to remove it.
Excellent recreation of the classic game we know and love.

Ran great for many years, it's now suffering from being 3 iOS versions behind. Now we're having sensitivity problems with our finger and especially with our apple pen, sudden crashes. It would be nice to have the square size fitted better to the screen.

Really disappointed in the flag button. When youre trying to go fast, we frequently end up not activating the flag button and inadvertently blowing up. Very frustrating. Has to be a better interface. Game was much better with a mouse.
Its not possible to follow the time or the ranking, they look directly scales.

The gameplay in this version is the best out of all the versions Ive tried in the App Store. However, ever since the iOS 14 update, Ive discovered that the app reads whatever we have copied into the clipboard. Why does a classic game need to snoop on what we copy/paste? Also, we had to disable background app refresh for this game. Why does a classic, single-player game need to access the network? It doesnt even support syncing high scores with iCloud, so it should never need access to the network or the contents of the system clipboard. We would give this game more stars if Maple Media was transparent about why they are collecting user data that this game doesnt even need.
Why am we getting the same game over and over.
Game does not remember scores very well and claims 0 games played after playing often. Also starts out in beginner version rather than the settings that were last used.
Why does this app read the clipboard? When we open it after copying a safari url a MinesweeperClassic pasted from safari message appears.
Game has clear errors. We have screen images where puzzle indicates certain # of mines but the displayed number does not match. In one game, shows a #2 square but only 1 ours was revealed. Other game showed 2 remaining mines but all numbered squares had matching mines. Purposely clicked on known ours to reveal if we made an error, but no other mines displayed except the one we selected. Not worth any $$ unless you are looking for a game of total randomness instead of logic.
We've had the thing for less than 24 hours. We've had 3 pop-ups asking for a rating. So here. Here's your rating so you can quit nagging.
Every time you open the app it copies any pictures or text you have in your clipboard.
The program keeps asking us to rate it after every game.
Loved this app, played it for years. Sure, some bugs when it came to high score but the trade off was worth it. But iOS 14 lets you know when an app accesses your clipboard. This app does on launch every time. Why? What if we had a password in there? Uninstalling as a result, which is a shame.

Ive had this App on our devices for years and we always come back to it. IMO, its the best minesweeper for iOS because its so down to earth and – in the best sense – simple. We will amend our review to five stars as soon as the developers manage to fix that pesky bug that sometimes delays the posting of a flag, especially and mostly on the right side of the largest playing field.
This game is relaxing and it helps your brain get stronger. You dont pay for Anything.

Easy to learn and for some to master. Inexpensive, low tech game. We love Minesweeper! When we need a little stress breaker, we play Minesweeper. When we need to cool down,we play Minesweeper. When we feel we just need to exercise our brain, we play Minesweeper. Competing with ourselves, we try to break our time record every time we play. Oh heck, we just like playing Minesweeper. Fun game. Works really well, but it really needs a restart button for when you accidentally hit something with your hand. So frustrating to have to start a completely new game.
You can put your name on a list with your completion times.

Everything is perfect except that the game needs a bigger flag button.
This a faithful reproduction of the old Minesweeper that we used to play on early versions of Windows and, in terms of game play, works well. However, there is one problem with the game – the Flag button uses two shades of grey that are almost indistinguishable unless the light is right, and you are holding the device at the right angle – it is far too easy to blow up a game inadvertently by thinking you have tapped on the Flag button and not noticing that actually you didnt. Why not two easily distinguishable colours, instead of two shades of grey. This loses the game two stars for us. And….ads, in a paid game? Really.
Love the game but would love to see the stats data fixed. We play hard games and like to keep track of our stats. The hard games register as medium games. Everything else is great.
We lose a lot of games because we think Ive hit the flag button, but it doesnt register. The button should turn RED when a player chooses to flag a square/squares, and should turn black when the flag is removed.
We miss having our best times saved displayed and it jumping out and telling us we had a new best time. Why get rid of that.
Please bring back the ability to rotate our screen and play in landscape. We find it uncomfortable to play the game now. The ability was fixed and then is stopped working again.

Its been nearly a year since this game was handed to a new developer and ruined. Appreciate that the developer has been responsive to feedback, but still in all that time, hasnt been able to fix the basics -new stats page still doesnt work. Expert games play are counted in intermediate but expert games won are counted in expert -average time does not calculate correctly (currently looks like an average of our top three scores since the update) -flag button in the top right is still too hard to press -border around game often shows up incorrectly (have to open settings or switch to landscape to fix) -ads still occasionally appear on startup and are present in settings page ~~ Added ads to a PAID AD-FREE game. Still surprises us how this developer can find another way to ruin a classic PS Landscape mode doesnt work now; as far as we can tell the update did not improve anything but added ads and removed functionality. Unbelievable and yet believable.
Opened the pro version of the MinesweeperClassic application and was surprised to be confronted with an add for something to do with snowboarding. This was a full screen add. We thought that the pro version would never have adds and was extremely disappointed by this.
We bought this pro version because we hated the ads on the free versions, but this app has a pop up when you open it, as well as banner ads between games.
