Monthly Dystopia – Adventure Game Review
![]()
Monthly Dystopia is a Adventure/Roleplaying game from Fatih Beceren, first launched in 5th January 2023.
It’s rated 12+ and currently has 339+ ratings on the App Store.
What Makes Monthly Dystopia Stand Out
A dystopian survival experience inspired by George Orwell's 1984.
In Monthly Dystopia, you need to find a way to survive in an authoritarian world. You can serve the dictatorship by being a model citizen or you can try to flee the country by cooperating with the Resistance. You live under a regime in which love is forbidden and using words banned by the Party is punishable by death. Choose your words wisely if you don't want to commit a thought crime. Remember, there's always a screen watching you. The paycheck from your job at the ministry editing the past is barely enough to buy the food needed to keep you alive, so it is crucial that you find a way to flee this dystopia where even thinking is forbidden.
You can serve as a loyal citizen, fall in love and constantly fear getting caught, work with the Resistance against the dictatorship, and choose freedom or servitude.
The daily tasks you perform in your apartment are your only way to survive. Remember that your time is just as limited as your supplies. You'll have to choose between cooking before going to work, taking medication for your illness, or doing activities that benefit your mental state. You can try to protect the people around you by making conscientious decisions or you can escape this dystopia by sacrificing them.
This Adventure game offers engaging gameplay and regular updates for mobile players.

Community Insight:
Do all you can to prevent this becoming a reality of all people.
Proud of you fatih. And lots of love to your grandpa! We bet hes proud of you.
Love the game so far its a blast definitely unique we love this creator.
Definitely different from other games Ive played with similar concepts. We like this way more even though Im just getting started we can tell its super interactive and has a deep storyline.
Love the game good job guys for making it.
We are a huge fan of the novel, 1984 and the movie adaptations. We love this game. We always thought 1984 would make a great game, and we are happy you made this. We are currently on day 3 and loving it. Great job.
Yes comrades! You heard it right. This wonderful piece of propaganda the Party has given us is insight into the daily lives of other comrades! Psst Down here, comrade. Quickly, we dont have much time before the thought police catch on! Big Brother is going to pay for what they did to Winston, and YOURE going to help us! Now, as youre reading this, we are already dead. YOU have a chance though! Download Monthly Dystopia and JOIN THE RESISTANCE to TAKE DOWN THE FASCIST PIGS! And comrade, remember: DOWN WITH BIG BROTHER AND THE PARTY.
Im not done with it yet, but its a weirdly creepy but fun game. The environment of the overall game gives it a paranoid vibe that meshes well with the story/idea behind the game.
This game looks like it has taken a very long time to complete and even though we havent completed much of the game we can tell it is amazing.
If you were a fan of papers please then youll really enjoy this game too.
Love the game but would like the jobs to be more versatile add different jobs and more actions to do during the day.
Good game overall, except we cannot figure out how to survive the HATE HOUR! We get arrested every single time.
The positives of this game definitely revolve around its atmosphere, and its ability to recreate the oppressive, tyrannical world of 1984. You can tell the environments were hand crafted, and we enjoyed each reference to the book. We also liked the system of having 30 days, so you felt like you had to live each day and survive under the eye of Big Brother. With that said, the story is extremely limited. Yes, the characters in 1984 had to be careful about when they spoke, but they still had plenty of conversations. In this game, you go from saying one sentence to Julia at work, to complimenting her eyes twice, to suddenly shes removing her clothes. Theres no buildup for anything that happens, events just happen suddenly and you either survive and the game ends, or youre caught by the Thought Police and the game ends. Its nice that theres different endings, but again, the endings are so abrupt that theres not much motivation to replay to see them all. Overall, we would only recommend this game to big fans of 1984, because the recreation of that world is where most of the enjoyment comes from.
Seriously well written, looks amazing, and sounds amazing. Worth the money and time. You wont wanna stop if you are like us. Definitely became a part of our routine! Great job.
It tickled our narrative fancy and inclination for social justice and resistance against tyranny. We like the faceless silhouettes and appreciate the artists style ! Im also a sucker for the rain asmr & the ADL sound fx. Join the resistance.
The game is very creative and fun to play.
So far a great game and absolutely taken away by the artwork.
Papers please inspired mobile game. Love it.
We love the graphics and the save feature.
So far its a great game and makes you feel like you are really in a dystopian world. Thumbs up.
It is what we thought it would be.
Dark, dry, and all too real. The game captures 1984 in a perfect way.
Great game, loving it so far. Only issue that is why we cannot give this game 5 stars is because on day 17 on the train ride home from work the game keeps crashing causing us to lose progress and have to restart only for it to keep happening.
Its overall a great game, at first we thought it would be like papers please but its far from it.
We like the story its nice and mysterious and leaves u on the edge of ur seat.
Very artistic and entertaining. Love how dark and immersive it is.
Ive just started but so far the game has be hooked.
Cool game. Honestly accidentally bought it but ended up actually enjoying it. Story seems interesting so far(still very early in the game).
Incredible game. Amazingly designed and intuitive. No tutorial given and none needed. This game plays like life. A snipet of life in a terrible place. This is a game we will be recommending to friends for years to come.
Incredible game, very well made and so atmospheric.

We love the 1984 book so its pretty interesting to see this game. We havent played it through yet but pretty good so far.
Definitely a game worth looking at if you dont mind the money. Seems slow so far but inlove games designed like this.
Enjoying the aesthetic and homage to the book. Only mild critique is the tutorial portion could be described a little better. Other than that, liking it.
Theres such a small amount of atmosphere that it becomes dreadfully repetitive. You do the same thing every day and going to work seems awfully tedious for no apparent reason. Theres no opportunities to go out to a pub or see things in downtime. That brings us to the time management theres some days we can only do one or two things before work and it becomes less of a game mechanic and feels like more of a bug. Lastly, it appears that our grandfather has no need to eat food, ever. Other than that good game just needs a little expansion and a good old polish.
Happy to see the gamified version of the 1984 book. More impressive experience than we expected. Atmosphere, mechanics and story of the game just hits diffent. Definitely recommended, worth every penny.
Havent even got to half an hour of game play and we are absolutely at awe at how good this game looks, sounds and plays. You truly will feel immersed with in a few minutes of game play. We cant tell that there was a load of effort to create this game.
