What Makes Munchkin Digital Stand Out

Kill the monsters! Steal the treasure! Stab your buddy!

Go down to the dungeon. Kick in the door. Kill everything you find. Backstab your friends. Steal the treasure and run.

With millions of copies sold around the world, Munchkin is the mega-hit card game about dungeon adventure…with none of that stupid roleplaying stuff. You and your friends compete to kill monsters and grab magic items. Don the Horny Helmet and the Boots of Butt-Kicking. Wield the Staff of Napalm…or maybe the Chainsaw of Bloody Dismemberment. Start by slaughtering the Potted Plant and the Drooling Slime, and work your way up to the Plutonium Dragon!

Shuffle Up an Adventure!

You're a Munchkin…and Munchkins love treasure! But a stack of pesky monster and Curse cards are between you and your hard-earned loot!

Munchkin is played in a series of rounds using Door cards and Treasure cards to explore a dungeon.

Build a character by combining Race and Class cards, then gear up to face the lurking monsters!

Kill monsters and collect Treasure to level up! The first Munchkin to reach Level 10 wins!

But wait…there's more!

Cross-platform, online multiplayer shenanigans!
Learn the tricks of the adventuring trade in a dungeon-delving tutorial!
Sharpen your blade in Solo Challenges with special rules!

Go looking for trouble in Munchkin. Hey, we're all going to get roasted and eaten sometime.

This Card game offers engaging gameplay and regular updates for mobile players.

Player Experience Highlights

Community Insight:

This game has been amazing, but the last updates have really created some glitches. We could get past them because the games are great but great they fix the glitches.

In playing local against two AI players, theres a glitch where as playing a level eight orc we can easily win the game when the other players dont take action against the winning of two levels for beating a monster by ten or more points. Also the dice rolls display numbers than whats actually rolled. Also in the latest update, the Magnificent Hat fails to protect you from opponents curses.

We love this car game, but this is a poorly designed digital version with clicky controls or UI layout, and desperately in need of tutorials on the game mechanics themselves.

Great game. Im a big fan of Munchkin. But this latest version seems a little buggy. For example, pressing the buttons that appear at the bottom of popup windows (like for example the backpack) often require several presses before the button takes action. Also, Ive gotten stuck in combat where other (AI) players may be deciding actions, only to sit for several minutes with nothing happening and having to quit/restart the game. Sometime restarting works and the game continues, but other times the game just gets stuck in the same spot again. Hope a fix comes soon.

This is a perfect digital version of munchkin, with the ability to play online or on your own against computers as well. We hope they add more expansions.

We love munchkin and so do all our friends, the ai either has incredible luck or gets a better chance of cards we havent won a single game even when Im way ahead. Still love it though but somethings funky with the ai.

This is a very fun game that brings back a lot of memories. Great job team! We have ran into numerous situations where the game bugs out and we cannot progress. For example, we recently played a game where we traded with a local player, then kick the door popped up, even though our turn was over. The option did nothing and immediately after, loot the room popped up. We clicked it and it then proceeded to show all the clickable options one by one after each click. Looks like something kicks off an infinite menu loop. Another minor bug, we could not equip multiple big items as a dwarf :).

We love the Munchkin card games and have played them for decades. We were very excited when we bought Munchkin Digital but was extremely disappointed with it. The game doesnt follow its own rules, there are tons of bugs and the support group asks for more info even when you send the logs.the programmers have really disrespected the great art of Munchkin Digital. Its a terrible shame. Dire Wolf is working on another digital version of a board game we really enjoy and we are confident it will be plagued by the same game breaking problems.

We own basically every version of munchkin made and we love this digital version. Its great to play with our kid who is at college, or when we just cant get together in the same space for a true game night. Is it the same? No but its dang close. Our only complaint is the lack of expansions. We need more! ;).

The only house rule we wish this digital game had, is that when bad stuff happens and you die its for the rest of the game. Then again, we regularly play with large amounts of people (6 at minimum) on tabletop.

Please lower the price to allow more people to get the game. Sometimes it takes so long to get into games and we think so many people would get the game if it were cheaper.

At first we were like well its not as good as the board game version but then we were hooked just that we were able to go through our apps and find Munchkin was awesome to us. Its hard enough trying to get people together to play board games anymore. We would like to see more online and more groups interested. But as far as gameplay goes and the experience so far, it is everything we expected plus definitely recommend if youre into the board game give this a try you wont be disappointed.

We have played the board game in the past and it was fun. But many things that you can do in person arent implemented. For example mabey we wanted help defeating a monster and we wanted to give one of our cards and a treasure, you cant do that in this game. Also the menu/inventory while playing isnt the best and could be improved. Also a few bugs like things we have encountered were not being able to look close at our cards, when getting the tax curse our 0 coin item was took automatically which only happened once. Anyway its a great game that could use some minor fixes.

Loving this game but since the last update resurrection doesnt work as a cleric. The double trouble challenge is not producing a second monster.

Love Munchkin. Noticed a few glitches with some cards, however. Had the game glitch multiple times while using Casting Couch, and sometimes when combat features multiple monsters and cards start removing or changing them, such as Dead. Once some of these glitches are ironed out, things will be great again! We believe most of these are with the most recent expansion added to the game. Cheers.

Can be frustrating to play. Sometimes the cards dont seem to work as described. Additionally, sometimes unable to hold down card to zoom in and read descriptions.

Game is amazing! But since the last update, we cannot resurrect as a Cleric, couldnt use some of our cards such as a forced roll away to another person, etc. New expansion pack is awesome and game is amazing but this current one needs updates. Glitches also happens live and causes people to force quit and rejoin, risking getting kicked out if not done quickly enough. That said, its SO nice to have this game to play all the time. Willing to adjust our review once glitches are fixed to a 5/5.

An awsome game the concept is what got us into playing on the phone, just the same as the atcual board games, but we would like to see the variety of there expansion especially the munchiknomicon.

We love this game. We just hope they release more expansions.

We miss the snark of the non-monster cards. Maybe an audio clip overlay when a card is played/examined with the option to turn the feature off. Thats all for notes. This is a BEAUTIFUL execution of the physical game; right down to a smart ai for computer players. We cant get enough of this game nor say enough good about it.

This is an amazing game! We play the board game regularly and to have this on the phone has definitely increased our time kicking down the door. The games are always different and Im excited to see all the expansions brought to the app!! We will definitely continue to support this game.

When playing online, the game might freeze up as well as some cards will remain in hand after playing. This issue only recently started happening. Before hand, every thing worked great.

Excellent transition from table top card game to cell phone game. Only two problems. We feel like the NPCs can go be human half breeds but we cant. We notice the human icon just sitting next to the other race icon for the NPCs. And theyll still be able to use human weapons. We feel like we humans shouldnt be excluded from the half breed dynamic. And should be allowed to be all human no drawbacks or half human half other race (plus weaknesses of both). The other NPCs seem like they can. Ive also noticed some slowdown and crashing problems. Ive also noticed certain text boxes getting stuck and being unmovable. Need to be fixed. Great game otherwise.

Love this game but this online version is missing some of the best expansions.

Look, we love this game, and getting to play it digital is a dream come true. But you have GOT TO FIX the card randomizing. Ive spent the majority of every game with no gear, no treasures, and losing before we even get to level 5. We just sit there with hands full of monsters, classes, and the same three spell cards over and over again.

Ive been eagerly anticipating this game for years. We love Munchkin and enjoy this version. Add more sets though.

If you know, you know. And if you know Munchkin, dont think twice. Buy it and Enjoy. Its everything.

The most fun Ive ever had playing a board game but now its on the phone.

Ive been a fan of the tabletop game for years now! And playing this game is a fun on the go version of the game.

Please release more expansions. Good the Bad the Munchkin, Munchkin Apocalypse, Spy Munchkin, Munchkin Cthulhu! Dont stop here please! Yours truly, A super fan.

Love the gameplay, but keep encountering bugs in the challenge levels where one opponents door will simply not kick in.

We love this game but would give 5 stars to get controller support.

Wished that they revamped the way to see and play cards as its impossible to read the text by using your finger to bring it up. Other than that really enjoyable game.

Its hard to read the text of a card when the preview is constantly disappearing. Never mind the cards that others play flashing on screen for a heartbeat before going to the discard pile. It would be better to have either the option to click/touch to open a card and a second touch to dismiss, or include a library of all cards available for players to read and familiarize themselves between games. Otherwise, the game is very accessible and fun just like the physical card game.

This app is made for an iPad no doubt. The buttons would be far too small on a phone. The graphics and gameplay is true to the card game is kind of like a mini comic. There are a few bugs like cards not being playable or move able, we have have a card not show in our deck on a game losing move with the wand of dowsing, the app has frozen in progress a few times, etc but overall, it is fantastic.

The best thing about a card game on iPad is the ability to play on a tabletop with friends.. Will this game have the ability to do offline pass-and-play? Could easily just have game announce next player turn before showing their cards.. Similar to Cat Lady or Roll for it iPad games.. Please add pass and play local offline multiplayer. Thanks.

We absolutely love Munchkin and have most of the expansion packs. Its one of our favorite board games. This app is wonderful because it allows us to play on here when we dont have time for a board game night. However, it is buggy and freezes up – in particular when the AI has to kick open the door after selling, or when youre choosing which monster to run away from. Once they get more bugs worked out Id love to change our 3 star rating.

Put the run away button somewhere else, we tried to play important cards and it auto selected us to run away, completely turned us off the game.

Ive hadnt had this much fun with a new board game in a very long time! Cant wait for future expansions and development.

Used to play this card game during our travels across the US with our coworkers and this game helped pass the time so much. We really hope they come out with expansions to this app, our favorite Munchkin expansions Ive played so far are Harry Potter, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,Apocalypse, and Star Munchkin! This game also helps clarify so many rules that dont come up when youre playing against friends and not a computer. Also absolutely LOVE how this game can be played Offline as well! This makes flights go by SO much faster. Heading to FL now as we speak.

Its a fun game but there are some things that need to be fixed with the bots. It feels like the game favors the bots way too much and theyre always out to get you. It feels like a 3v1 when it really should be 1v1v1v1. Also we purchased the DLC but Im not seeing any new cards, we would like for it to be fixed or we get our money back.

Its a portable, solo version of Munchkin, so, hooray for that, but it needs some additional work to fully capture the silliness of the original game. Most problematic, the app crashes immediately upon beginning a game on our iPad Mini 2 (running latest available version of iOS 12.x). If the app advertises itself as running on iOS 11.x or later, it should work on this device. It functions properly on our iPhone SE, but the UI could stand to be improved. Id love to see an option to have newly drawn or newly played cards remain on the screen until tapped, to the give the user time to read the text on the card (and to more easily follow what actions the AI has just taken). Similarly, it would be great to have the flavor/bonus text from the physical version on the cards as well. The interface/gestures for looking at cards before playing them could also use some refinement. The tap-and-hold-to-view gesture makes sense, but if the users finger moves a single pixel the card either returns to the players hand or is miniaturized in anticipation of being played. More tolerance on the hold gesture would be good, or a progressive/scaling animation so that the card could be dragged partway up to be read and then dragged to a target screen area to be played. The cards-in-play/equipped/carried interface could also use some work. Its not always clear whats selectable. We hope to see this app version of the game continue to improve and evolve – theres tons of potential here.

Personally, we dont know why the app has bad reviews. We think the app is so so so similar to the actual game and wouldve made learning the board game a lot easier. We do think the price is a little much, but compared to the board game, its cheaper and has almost the exact same capabilities. This app is addicting and we love it.

As a huge Munchkin fan, we instantly bought this. Been playing it a lot and overall, it's great, but it has some gameplay bugs. When they fix these, it'll be our favorite game, hands down.

Starting at $10 is not terrible for Munchkin, our only complaint is it needs cards from the 9 expansions.

Great graphics, super cute, very close to the real game. Our favorite way to kill time.

Ive been playing the card game for years. Love the app! Now we can play whenever we want, and not just at parties.

Well done!!! We absolutely love it! This brings our favorite card game to life in such an awesome way! Please devs please!!!! Add the expansions!!!!! We WOULD LITERALLY SELL MY KIDNEY TO PAY FOR THE EXPANSIONS!!!! Thank you.

This game is glorious. God bless yall for making this game mobile for all the munches out here. We havent seen transfer potion card though. Also the kick down cleric ability is bugged and doesnt work.

We have the physical card game and we have it on PC and now on the phone. We cant get enough of this game. We play with family and friends and we have so much fun laughing at one another. Its such a incredibly fun family game.
