Great graphics, story, challenging yet fun! Not impossible wish there was a bonus but so much in game, not necessary.

We are so happy that Eipix is back on form! We used to look forward to their releases, then their games became so trite and unfulfilling. Now theyre back, baby! We love the super puzzles, and there were several in this game. We do wish they would make them a bit harder, like in Fates Carnival, but Im still happy with them. Instead of morphing objects to find in hops, you collect fragments of a love letter. The story was exciting and well done. Puzzles were unique and ranged from easy to medium. Hops were varied. Real rating of 4.5 bumped up to 5 because we just really enjoyed it.

Love this game. Eipix rarely disappoints. Wish the graphics were more crisp and bright tho.

This was one of the first series we ever played. It was great then and it is great now. The interactive puzzles are a major part of that!

We love it! Want more games exactly like it!

Since we were so negative about "the silly witch" game, we thought we owed a big WOW for this game. The storyline taps nicely into many older games, and the story feels both new and old. The puzzles are very demanding, some taking us much longer than usual. The multi-level puzzles are especially engaging, the graphics are amazing, artistic, and while the HOGs in any game are not our favorite, the drawings here are very compelling. After staying up too late last night playing, a rainy day here promises we may make the bonus game. Really worth the $$$, a long, engaging, challenging game.

We love this game, we have always enjoyed the Ravenhearst series and this is similar. This game is a challenge for us which is usually not the case. And the story line is interesting. Of course there are collectibles and morphing objects. An achievement is for how many times youve reset a game. Im going to purchase it. We havent had a challenge for awhile.

This was a well made game. Hard puzzles. Collectables were not the same in each page. We really enjoyed it.

Game was okay. Wish it had built on the lore a bit more, twist ending was a little hard to believe. Not our favorite types of puzzles personally. We do personally like the darker in tone games, so we had fun. Bonus chapter made zero contextual sense to us, other than same lore being used.

Amended to 4 stars….. We finally did find the bonus game, and after playing that, they did allow you to go back and find all the collectibles and replay the games. This game was not as enjoyable as most of the Mystery Case Files. We lost interest in the story. But 4 stars for great mini-games that were challenging and FUN, and flawless gameplay.

The game was enjoyable to play, however… The morphing objects were incredibly small and we honestly couldnt see them on our iPhone 8. The game was pretty short, and slightly confusing to begin with, regarding collection items and zero backstory. We dont know why this game was released as part of the Mystery Case Files series because it has nothing to do with that storyline. The hidden object puzzles required a lot of zooming in order to see the items, but it zoomed out again after you selected an item you were looking for. We did enjoy playing the game, simply not as much as we usually enjoy a game by Eipix.

This is very much a throwback to the early games we liked so much. And Im good with that. Its the first game that Big Fish has put up in months that we actually wanted to play; we havent even finished a demo in that time. The bonus game is weak, but otherwise: fine.

Im enjoying the plot but there is a glitch at the broken mill. The 3 buns needed to open the door can be removed without triggering it to open and you cannot go back and repeat it. You then cant go any further. Please fix and update or tell us what we are doing wrong. Thanks.

Note to Howard the Doc: you need to switch the buns to match the door code, not remove them. We dont know what else to tell you but it worked fine for us. We hope this helped. If not possibly check out KimTwilights review when it posts. We started this game with a bad attitude, fully intending not to like it. There were no reviews out from our panel yet. Despite the odds, we are enjoying it anyway. Lets face it; practically every game we play has something to do with Revenants, but this game has humorous comments so we are having fun with it. Yes, the graphics are on the dark side but they arent that awful. We have seen way worse from EIPIX. The game is customizable. There is a journal with notes and tasks and objectives are updated regularly. Although there are an awful lot of collectibles (piles of leaves, morphing objects, Revenant cards and Alvins letter) nobody is forcing you to look for them, and there is an on-screen indicator for leaves and morphing objects. If a Revenant card is available the box will open. You are provided with a very good teleport map with tasks and objectives, and it is not one of EIPIX s confusing maps either, and it provides instantaneous transport between locations. Inventory is labeled and there are complex items to assemble. The HO scenes so far have been mostly word lists, and there is no alternative puzzle. We actually like the mix of puzzles/games because not every last one is rotational and there are super puzzles as well. Since EIPIX has had some time off before releasing this game, their quality assurance has been really good so far in this game. Judging by the size of the game, it will probably be on the short side, but we are not finding it tedious as others have reported. Its strange because this is one of our least favorite series by this developer yet we are enjoying the game. We are not really having a problem following the storyline either. We will update the review once we are done with the game; however we wanted to help gamers who are on the fence as to whether to purchase this game. Truthfully at the beginning we thought it would be extremely dull but once we completed the trial we wanted to buy it, surprisingly so! Our true rating will be 3.5 stars. We deducted stars for the following reasons: the HO scenes were practically ALL word lists, so there was a general lack of innovation. The game was extremely short, inclusive of the bonus adventure. The bonus chapter storyline was convoluted and trite.

We are wholly underwhelmed by this latest sequel, which fails to throw surprising twists or turns along the way, and lacks innovative gameplay. We miss the layered complexities of novelty demonstrated by the MCF games from days gone by. The plot conveys a rehash of the cliched theme of investigating the existence of a supernatural entity. The graphics are saturated in a monochromatic purple-ish coloration; it looks like the developer lazily threw a bucket of paint over the scenes, with little regard for a diversified ambiance. There is a journal to record fragmented story progression. If your main interest is playing the HOSs, please be aware that, in our opinion, they are the biggest disappointment of this game. They are mostly composed of insipid word lists a throw-back to 2012 and are scant of interactivity, as well as devoid of puzzle-like elements. Furthermore, scenes are revisited, a feature that is not ordinarily connected to this developer’s work. Some of the puzzles offer a slight challenge, and their types are varied. We came across a particular puzzle that looked like a super puzzle upon first glimpse, but it turned out to be far from super it was very easy to effect the solution. They are still the best component of this game, although not the best we’ve seen. You discover a few sets of collectibles throughout the locations. This game is, by far, in our opinion, the worst in the MCF series: no originality, uninteresting storyline, lackluster HOSs, and uncreative gameplay. We only purchased it because no other game is available at this time. We bumped our rating of 2.5 stars up to a final 3 stars due to smooth transition and glitch-free gameplay. We strongly suggest, though, that you play the free trial before purchasing.

Don’t bother with this game. We stopped halfway through from boredom. We’ve played some interesting HO games by Big Fish — this isn’t one of them. The game features the most boring hidden object puzzles — ever. This is their specialty, so there’s no excuse for this. They most definitely know how to make great HO puzzles so it’s beyond irritating when quality is inconsistent from game to game. It was $7 and not worth it. We’re being very critical but when a company is this big, they have the resources and the talent to produce consistent quality. What else … The story line is contradictory to itself; if a game is marketed as scary, it should be scary. This one might start out with potential but it fades (literally, the color fades, music too) into blah ASAP.

Skips must be clicked at least three times; HOP objects aren’t hot-spotted precisely. Sorry it wasn’t a better game as we liked the series.

Good graphics, good game play, but waaaaay too short and not much of a story line. This game had lots of potential, but unfortunately didnt capitalize.

Would love to write a review. We used our Apple gift card and it took the money out of our account. Then we went to play, and it says there is no account found. This happened with all three games we just paid for. We will no longer by Big Fish games. Rip off!

We wanted to love it, as we’ve loved other games in this series, but this was subpar. We cant really describe it, but the imagery was difficult to see, the action was stiff and odd, the games were not hard but hard to complete at certain times due to the interface. The HOPs were one-note and boring. We played through, but was not impressed, especially since we know the developers can do MUCH better! Sorry guys, but Im still looking forward to the next one. :)

We love Big Fish games, but have noticed more games that have violence against women. We get pretty uncomfortable during such scenes. Dont get us wrong, we love blood, guts and some inherent violence with games, but just not when a woman is assaulted….. Unless its by another woman:)

We honestly couldnt wait for it to be over.

One of the puzzles was literally just typing in a word that was already on the paper. Seriously? Also the story was hard to follow as it involved several time periods and multiple people who werent featured except in passing, but were pretty important to the action. A lazy effort imo.

Poor HOP – too dark and blurry. Standard mini games that are difficult to skip. Story making even less sense that usual.

Basically the plot was evident from the beginning. So a guy comes back from the grave to take revenge on those that killed him and covered it up. We were so bored playing this game. We bought it thinking it would get better. We were sorely disappointed. We were hoping for more action and plot. We hope the next installment will be intriguing.

Im giving this game a two star because it was fun to play. The mini games were entertaining, but not too hard. Everything was good until the Bonus game. It was very short and the story line did not make any sense at all. It didnt go along to the original game. Another thing that we didnt like was the Extras as part of the Collectors Edition. There was pretty much nothing to do if you collected all the card, leaves, and the morphing objects. You didnt see other things you usually saw with the Collectors Edition.

This game was really good mechanically. Custom settings, decent map, ok voice-overs and pretty good graphics (hence, the 2 stars). Our only problem with the game itself was how dark it was. We probably should not have bought it after the free trial, but we were intrigued. Normally we only by fantasy, medieval, and sci-fi games. We tend to stay away from horror themed games, but we guess this one sucked us in So, not only was the subject matter a bit dark for us, but the scenes themselves were very dark and therefore very hard on our eyes. But what really bothered us about this game was the Bonus chapter. Possible Spoiler Alert!!! Anyone who is a parent will find the ending very dark, depressing and not a little macabre. Just so you know, the bonus chapter is in no way related to the main story. They both have a Revenant, but the stories have totally different characters that are not related. We almost feel like the developers are not aware that a lot of people who play their games have children and/or grandkids. We were not amused… This is actually our first review ever, that is how much it affected us. We realize that everyone is different, our review is for people like us who prefer a happy ending! Happy gaming, y’all!!!

Muddled plot, difficult to find the hidden collectibles and morphing objects, Small and dark graphics. Boring HOPs, puzzles difficult. Responsive teleporting map. Relatively fast refresh rate. We are very disappointed, we expected much better for this exciting series!

Downloaded and deleted 3 times. Im playing on iPhone 12. The opening scene is displayed so large you cant see or do anything.

This game seem to be VERY old. The scenes are dark. The HO scenes even darker. The HO scenes are repeated, again and again. We were so bored and frustrated with this game that we didnt even finish the free selection. We seriously wouldnt waste the space on our iPad putting in this game. Just awful!

The last few offerings from Big Fish have been terrible. Story line is laughable and the whole game had a thrown together feel. Not up to standards by any means.

We’ve completed the game which we generally liked. However at the end there is no option to play the bonus game which is frustrating as we paid full price for this game. Further tech support has been no help with this.

While we mostly rate the Big Fish games that we purchase, which is well into the 100s, and throughout many years, we rarely review them. However, this game definitely deserves a review! The Revenants Hunt is a part of the Mystery Case Files, a series made by Eipex. There are some of the usual touches that we have come to prefer now, such as, a journal, teleportation, custom settings, as well as, a few collectible-type components (albeit, theyre not exactly collectibles, but rather seek and find). With that said, we must say that this is, by far, one of the worst games in this series… And quite possibly by Eipex! From the beginning to the end, we felt as though the devs were in a hurry to release something, and call it a HOAG. It weighs much too heavily on HO and mini games, in which nearly every HO scene is revisited, and very little in the way of adventure. There was not enough sensical interaction with the characters and scenes to make this a solid, or enjoyable game. The words confusion and confusing seem to be a common factor among some reviews, and we could not agree more! In fact, had we not hastily purchased this game, we would have deleted it within the first 10 minutes of gameplay. Our conclusion: The Revenants Hunt is a complete waste of time, and its definitely not worth buying; even if, it were on sale for .99¢. Our advice: play before you pay.

We have played all the MCF games since they were only on PC, and we’ve really enjoyed them all. We played this one and of course purchased it because we figured there was a lot of game left to go. But not long after we purchased it, the game was already over! What a massive disappointment. Not only was the story hard to follow and boring AF, but the game mechanics were off- we couldnt place objects because it kept pulling up the screen, the hints button was difficult to use, and many of the clues were completely irrelevant. Worst of all the games in the series. 1/10, would not recommend. It makes us very sad because we have never even made a bad review about any game on iOS or otherwise, but this was so bad, it called for it.
