Thank you Eipix! Game is long, gorgeous artwork, tons of puzzles and lots of Norse lore! Diary has history of items and people. There is a brief catchup referring to the previous saga for those that didnt play it. This episode so far is smooth playing. You play different characters each on the hunt for the stolen stags of the world tree. Each in a different part of the nine worlds. And you get to enjoy all the beautiful scenery on a full screen yay! Verdict: play and enjoy!
Excellent graphics, transporting map. Collectible feathers in each scene. Demo kept our interest… We decided to buy. Plus we can customize. Big, big plus for us we can control the sounds… Meaning no sound.
This story is okay but everything is really complicated. Not much is logical. Hard to understand. Very pretty though.
Seems like a lot of people had trouble with this game. We thought it was more interesting/challenging than some of the other games. It was actually different. The only glitch we really had was that the sound kept going out. There were subtitles, so that wasnt really a problem. The only real letdown was that the bonus level was especially short. It was over for us in about an hour or less. If you like these games, but theyre seeming to be all the same, this is a nice change of pace. Im on a brand new iPad and the only issue we had was with the sound. If the sound really bothers you, closing and restarting the app usually fixed the issue. We thought everything made sense… As much as games ever do. Im glad we took a chance on it while it was on sale. If its too easy or hard, change the settings.
Hint works fine if you set it to something above zero. Try it at 10 seconds, it will light up and function.
But make sure in the hos in the toolbox on top of the scaffolding, that you dont pick up any wooden pieces until the end of the hop. Otherwise they disappear and you cannot get the final item. We had to replay the game bc of this! Otherwise, love the Norse mythology, the characters are interesting, puzzles medium to easy, graphics good, nice music. Took off a star for the above mentioned hop glitch.
Is this a new game or a re-release?
SERIOUSLY… This game needs soooo much work it wasnt even fun to play!! Alot of the puzzle hops gave piss poor instructions on what you were supposed to do… Some of the actions in the game didnt even make sense as to why… We were literally confused on half the game… And to add insult at the end there was no way to play the bonus game ( and yes it did say there was content to unlock by playing said bonus game) there was no button in Extras or any clue what so ever that there was a way to get to the bonus game!! Total waste of money!!
UPDATE: Note to Catalina: To get a refund, the easiest way is to call Apple Support, talk to someone versus email, and ask them to refund your money. The other way is to go into your account, scroll through your payment history, and when you find the game, click on report a problem. If you ask for a refund on the App Store rather than requesting one from BigFish, they will refund you. And we got a game from Domini today, so at least we are starting this week out with a series most of us enjoy! Note to KimTwilight: Hotties are always a plus! Do you think BigFish would honor our request to put them in every game? Also, we noticed something very comical while playing this game and wondered if you, or any other gamers, picked up on it. It seems that EIPIX is poking fun at our president! While visiting Muspelheim, Magmar proclaims that he wants to make Muspelheim great again! Sound familiar? We laughed so hard we almost cried! On to the game. We wasnt quite as enamored with it as other gamers. That doesnt mean it wasnt a good game; we had trouble playing it. We found the graphics quite good considering the developer. We were given customizable settings, a teleport map, complex items, an actual journal with helpful notes on Norse mythology, and objectives. Loading was instantaneous between locations. Collectibles changed depending on which world you were visiting, from feathers to fire crystals to helmet sigils to acorns. Morphing objects were confined to the HO scenes, which had some variation but were not as innovative as we would have liked; too many of these scenes had us searching for runes. There were plenty of puzzles/games. Although some were overly simplistic, there were codes to crack, games of dexterity, rotational problems, labyrinths and mazes so we believe there was something to suit every player. This game was lengthy inclusive of the bonus adventure. Our lack of enjoyment was due to the fact that we experienced touch screen sensitivity issues while trying to apply inventory tools, hard tapping to acquire inventory items in the game and in the HO scenes, and difficulty when trying to use the teleport map. It should be unnecessary to tap a map location 7-10 times in order to teleport to the desired location. Because of these issues, we found myself second guessing everything we tried because the game did not function properly. If it had we could have rated it higher. Our true rating will be remain at 3 stars. We deducted stars for the poorly functioning map and for the touch screen sensitivity issues. Its unfortunate because the gameplay itself was enjoyable. EIPIX needs to improve their overall quality assurance, and BigFish need to ensure that they do this. UPDATE: we should be getting a new game from Artifex Mundi on August 30, and it appears that it will fall under the crime investigation genre. We wish we knew what the deal with Five BN Uk was. The newsletter said they were releasing a new Lost Lands on the iOS platform, and that it would be available on the BigFish game finder, as well as in the App Store. We havent been able to find it. If anyone can give us further information, kindly do so. We really need other distributors badly right now. Anyway, Lynxie wishes everyone a happy gaming experience!
The story was good, with nice graphics. But… You had to constantly use the hint button because it was difficult to figure out where to proceed. Some of the games did not work, you had to use the skip button even though you were doing the correct thing. Just as well done as the first one.
Too hard even on custom mode. Map is not very good it will teleport you but not in right area. Morphing objects turn very very slow you will need to stare at it for minutes. They dont tell you which Collectibles you need to get. Most puzzles hard. Story boring. We buy games and like to replay. We will not replay. Most of the game was skip skip skip and use guide constantly.
Having same issues as everyone else!!!! Now Im stuck at the stags antlers and cant go any further. Very disappointing!!!
We were thinking we were going to be disappointed by this game then we were pleasantly surprised how long & awesome it was. Then with the last hero right before you get the instrument, it disappeared & no way to finish or play bonus chapter. Big Fish bailed 2018 soon after this was made. We thought maybe it was one that fit to screen that we missed but we didnt head warnings because we saw more recent reviews not have this issue. Its so disappointing, we were having so much fun & looking forward to ,finishing , this game (not to mention bonus chapter now not playable. Glad we only paid $2.99. Dont attempt JenRage.
We found this game to be more than a challenge. Very difficult even on the easiest level. It was hard to figure out maneuvering around in the game without continuously consulting the help button. Im personally getting tired of machinery HO tasks or underground travels. Dark areas of confused barriers. Where did the fun games go with games of wit.
This game wont let us get the instrument from the hop. Apparently players have been complaining about this since 8/2018 and its still happening. Cant finish the game without it. If youre not planning to fix this glitch, then you should return our money and take this game off the list.
There we were, happily playing along, near the end of the game when a key object just disappeared from a HOS. We couldnt move forward without the stupid dwarven instrument that should have been the result of the HOS, so the game was done for us. A very unsatisfying end to an otherwise good game.
The graphics are beautiful and the voice acting is good. The story line is good, and there are some really unique HOPs and games, BUT there are some bugs that are annoying. While playing the game with knots near the beginning of the game, our entire inventory suddenly disappeared, and we had to completely start over. Then during the very last segment of the game where you get the deer antlers, the first antler we were able to get, but then we wasnt able to get any of the others, and there was nothing we could do! We had to start over again! There were also many tasks that were very difficult to figure out. Some of the HOPs were so dark and vague that we ended up using the hint button a lot, which we hate doing. This was especially true of the HOP where you have to find the hoof prints of the stag. In many HOPs we found myself clicking around randomly, as things were s difficult to find, plus there is no alternate puzzles if you cant fin things. We also found that, unlike most games, there were not sparkles to give you clues about where things were, and even though we have been playing games like this for decades, we still appreciate the clues. Last comment, the bonus game was exceptionally short, and not satisfying at all.
Bought this game and expected, as advertised, to have a bonus chapter after the main gameplay. However, no bonus chapter to be found. False advertising. Big Fish support is useless – all they do is offer a code for a free PC game – not what we purchased, not what we want to play. DONT BUY THIS GAME. THEY ARE RIPPING YOU OFF WITH FALSE ADVERTISING OF AN OLD, GLITCHY VERSION 1.0.0 GAME.
HOP at end doesnt work, wont let you retrieve instrument. Hint says leave, when you leave then hint says go back in HOP but still doesnt work.
… The part where theres a floating key, that we apparently need to fit into each hole to activate the blue crystal. Nothing we’ve tried helps. The key is stationary! And the hint keeps sending us right back to the key. We even looked it up in the Walk Through. It doesnt do a thing to help. Maybe Im wrong – but when we spend our money on a game, the game should, we dont know, actually WORK right?! So much for this game. Im not willing to start all over again, on the chance that it may get it to work right. Seriously programmers! This has happened to us quit a bit, (with other games, too.) and its pretty hard to swallow. You obviously dont care about us, so why should we care to make sure you get paid? Im done.
As mentioned before, near the end of the main story, the completed and needed target item in an HOS disappears from the scene when the list switches to indicates to take the final item. It cannot be collected and you are dead in the water. The generic, "things to try if you are you stuck advice" is not helpful. The item was in the scene with all parts collected and it is just gone. Rebooting by closing and reopening the game is ineffective. Way too far in to bother with restarting from the beginning. Whole game not that great, with lots of other annoying glitches like unresponsive tapping. Until they fix the bug do not buy!! Update: So yeah, This is not really a new release, or version 1.0. As Polandexpat suspected, this is just a re-release of an already old glitchy game. We went to the tech forum to see if there was any news on a fix for the issues, and found a lengthy history of woe from at least 2017, maybe older. Can’t believe BF can last much longer if they keep making cheesy, rip-off moves like this. Another disappearing customer.
HOP at the end is still not working and we cannot finish the game.. Very frustrating. We’ve asked for a refund and received a coupon for a free game BUT these coupons DO NOT WORK ON IPADS!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHH!
Wish we had read about the fatal error near the end of the game. Why is this game allowed to be sold with this issue?
Just like everyone else – the Dwarven Instrument disappears off the HOG and we cant continue. No way to get it. Have to start over. We would like a refund. Dont purchase this game.
Deserves ZERO stars Big Fish doesnt respond any more to pleas for help or complaints, so Im airing our grievances here Will be requesting a refund for this horrible waste of time & money.

They have been having problems with requirements of the iOS platform with Apple . They said for us to hang in there, they are working hard on this. Was really enjoying this game but got stuck (along with many others) trying to obtain the dwarven instrument. This is a bug and we cant proceed. Ugh! Frustrating!
We found the game fun until Chapter 6 when we completed a HOPS and couldnt retrieve the instrument. Hit the hint button in HOPS, it said to leave. Hit it again outside of the HOPS, it says to complete the HOPS. SO FRUSTRATING!!! Restarted our iPad still stuck in this eternal loop….
Major glitch had to delete the game. Frustrating!
Things dont work properly and trying to skip or get a hint doesnt work either so you are just stuck. We have only one thing that we can access and only one item in our inventory and they dont work together. Something has gone wrong and all we get it, that is something we didnt think Id need.
We had the same issue as others, current edition couldnt be completed. Needs an update to fix bug that makes primary objective in HOP near the end disappear before it can be collected to progress. Ill get the refund from Apple. Big Fish response was the standard force close app & update device blow off that they always send when their product aint ready for prime time, as if after 15 years were all still trying to figure out how to use these newfangled smartphones.
We played this game almost to the end and the object that we have to get to finish the game disappeared (after we made it) in the HOP and even after restarting multiple times, wont appear. Game will not progress. Hint keeps telling us to go into the broken HOP. Hint within HOP keeps telling us to leave. Skipping the HOP is not an option. We cannot complete the game. Also, the game is much more boring than the 1st one, clearly they just wanted to release another game without working to make something new or engaging. Or functional. We want our money back.
We feel like a big fish we have been suckered we dont like it .
The game is fine, up until near the end. Then a HOP basically freezes up. As several others have mentioned, the object you need to grab to progress simply disappears, and theres nothing you can do to continue. The first game in this series was wonderful, but this is a mess.
The game aesthetic is nice but there is no continuity in this game. There’s no logical way to more through it. You have to hint your way through it or tap randomly all over the scenes. Dont waste your dime.
Its a heck of a long way into the game when this happens too. And reading the Game Forum, others are having the same issue. Please fix. A game you cant finish is worthless.
