A Glimpse into Neighbourhood Necromancer

Command the undead to take revenge on the suburbs! Oh, everyone at school laughed at you, but no one will laugh when your minions seize control of critical local infrastructure. Perhaps you’ll start by taking over a convenience store.

"Neighbourhood Necromancer" is a hilarious interactive horror novel where your choices control the story. The game is entirely text-based–without graphics or sound effects–and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.

Will you rule suburbia openly or skulk in the shadows? Will your necromancing impress the cool kids at school? Will you use your dark powers to destroy your home town, or save it from the secret industrial/military operatives who have come to destroy you? The choice is yours.

  • Become a teenage small-town necromancer.
  • Play as male or female, gay or straight.
  • Manage an unruly squad of walking corpses.
  • Exact brutal vengeance, or struggle to maintain your humanity.
  • Entertain unexpected house guests from beyond the grave.

We dont see anyway to start the game, it just sits at the buy now screen. How do you try the first 3 chapters.

Honestly we thought this was completely free from what the app said. But only the first three chapters are free then you have to pay $3.00 to continue. We dont think its entirely worth $3.00s. Other than that we really like it. Its a good story. We really hate it when an app advertises itself as completely free only to later tell you that you have to pay to continue like maybe thirty or so minutes of using the app (sometimes in even shorter amounts of time). Its false advertising in our opinion. We personally think that if you had adds, it could be free and fully enjoyable for everyone.

What more need we say it’s fun great game.

This is a great little story. It’s fairly long and you meet some interesting characters. First three chapters are free and it’s like, 3 bucks for the whole things, which it was well worth. Will you be an ethical leader, or bringer if the apocalypse? You can choose, and the really interesting to get into. We love it. ( in videogames, we play necromancers whenever we can, so we might be bias)

We personally love all the games made by COG LLC, but some things should change. 1: increase advertising. In any other game genre we would decrease it, but we don’t mind the adverts. 2: make a wait between each play through. Maybe just an hour or five minutes, do this so the person can reflect on the story. 3: make it free. The first two will give you an unlimited source of income, without pissing off the consumers. We hope the Executives read this and make some changes. Thanks for all the great games and keep them coming(preferably with the model outlined above.

We LOVE THIS GAME! During our second play through, we tried to be mean and kill everyone, and we felt REALLY BAD when we killed Robbie, and when the "Ghost Busters" came, we just couldn’t do it! So we restarted the game!

The problem with games like this is that a lot of work goes into them but in the end they aren’t worth the 5 dollar or 3 dollar price. We enjoy games like this a lot we see myself replaying it 3,4,5 even 6 times. But, the 5 dollar price or 3 dollar price is too hefty. The company needs to make the games either 1 dollar or free with ads where you can pay to have it ad free.

We really like it! One of the coolest things we have seen on the App Store in a while. One of the only downsides is paying for the rest.

Great fun game but it should be free or at least have way more free chapters.

Amazing story and in our opinion worth the money, but it is a bit short. Plus, there should be a bit more variety. Like maybe when you ask to be made a vampire, some stat might lead to him saying anything besides no.

It’s a good game, but we had trouble finding a objective to complete. The writing is also very confusing and we had to scroll back multiple times to understand what was happening.

This is less about the game and more about the male names, along with how amusing it is. When you are asked what your name is, the following options pop up: *Niall *Zayn *Liam *Harry *Louis *Something else. Now, we can’t help but notice that these are all the names for One Direction. Looks like we have a 1D fan on our hands. Coincidence? We think not; the universe is rarely so lazy.

This is an ok game. We only got the first chapters free because we wasn’t interested enough in it to keep reading. We love zombies and usually give 5 stars with zombies in a story but this story seems less about them and more about some kid that even when we personalize him, we’re just not interested in. The writer fails to draw you and get the reader invested like a reader should be.

MAKE IT FREE LIKE CHOICE OF THE DRAGON!!! Ps. Dis good game.

We love this game but we would like a guide book or something like we want to know the maximum of undead you could get or we wish that it could show us our decisions at the end of the game.

We actually paused playing the game to write this. We’re always on the hunt for good text-based games, either classic or new, which have good writing, logic, and replay ability. Necromancer is written VERY well, no typos, many story branches, and a HUGE awesome dose of humor. It really is like a great short story. A lot of fun, and ALSO replay value. ONE suggestion/request: please consider making an option to scroll/flip BACK to read old text? Say if you’d like to re-read older pages or if you accidentally hit the ‘turn/next’ button. Thank you! Very much worth the price, in our opinion.

Just broke up with our boyfriend, and the humor and story of this app really helped take our mind off of him.

If your nerdy you’ll enjoy this game for hours!

We love any choice of games but this one was by far our favorite. We’ve also played the dragon game and the pirate one. Your games are awesome- keep on making them plz!

We love this game it is really awesome and has some crazy plot lines!

Ok, we love all of your games and this one is Great too. But when will the next heroes prodigy come out? Anyway great games and we love your guys games!

The game itself is great but most of the time we don’t get an achievement even after fulfilling the requirements. The achievements that we have gotten disappear after we get the notification.

We’ve played better text based story games but we still like it.

It’s a very interesting story to play through and the characters are cool.

Bought this on principle, really, and wish we hadn’t. Its a wee bit convoluted, you have little personality that hasn’t already been decided for you, a single love interest, and almost no explanations about… You know… Anything. Wins extra points in the horror and "I love our undead minions!" areas but otherwise falls short of expectations.

We just wish it was all free but with advertisements, the developer would make more money off advertisements than off people actually buying the rest of the story.
