This game was really fun when it first came out, leveling up with you friends and creating a crew of pirates. Merging into other crews to make even bigger crews. We were on the top 3. But then the developers got greedy and it became a pay to win. The bullied were made and the game was no longer fair. You were constantly living on a timer because god forsake your shield is down for 1 minute.. Consider yourself dead and all the time spent saving materials for your next upgrade is gone. The balance is horrible and the players who pay dominate.
You have to spend money EVERY MONTH in order to keep up with everyone else. Its pathetic thats why Im cutting our losses and leaving this money hungry game. Server 93.
We got it like a billion years ago dont buy it its not good.
We can’t hunt lv1 mermaid because the app froze. Is it a bug?
This game has wonderful graphics. Thought it can be laggy at times, theres a lot to fit into this game and Im sure theyre working on it with maintenance upgrades. Im not a strategy or multi-task gamer for our phone games, but we might keep this one for a while. Theres plenty to keep you occupied and give you something to do in all areas of your island.
Hello Joy City and Disney, we have been playing since the game started. We are one of the top two players on our server. Yes, we have spent THOUSANDS of dollars and fair/legal game play to get to our level. However, here are the illegal/unfair game issues that must be corrected: 1: It has come to our attention that captains are able to create hundreds of alternate accounts for the purpose of using the free gold to buy items in barter shop, shield for 7 days, then plunder those accounts WITHOUT going chaotic or using plunder points to win the pvp events, gain resources for their Big Accounts and use those alts to Litter and take down smaller team fortresses and buoys. 2: Now they can even form alt alliances at low levels and attack those (even if not on the same team if the accounts are linked to their current captain and still not go Chaotic or use plunder points). 3: Login sharing is used to keep shields on alliance large accounts( illegal) to prevent attracts from other large players which forces us to attack smaller less competitive players in order to gain resources. 4. This login sharing also allows the big players to sleep while their accounts are used to play and bully others during that time. ( illegal) 5: Large players are quitting smaller teams and giving their login info to other players for same purposes. (illegal). 6: Servers that are older ( mine) for some reason are still able to add new players (which are really just alts of other existing players, thus compounding the situation). 7: Server mergers would be pointless because they will also just bring in their hundreds of alts and login sharing. 8: Bullying is rampant on individual players who are forced to quit their teams in order to prevent the team from attacks ( illegal). Thus other teams scared to let a player join for fear of the larger teams coming after them. 9: Joy City has always been prompt in responding to our inquiries related to game content and errors. Thank you, however we believe these loopholes above should be addressed and corrected. This can be easily done by checking shield times, urls being used during those times: corresponding the number of accounts linked to a particular captain: verifying accounts being gifted to others from original creation date and current activity ( ie , logging in from different countries under the same member number-which is illegal and grounds for permanent banding under JC rules and regulations of illegal profiting). 10: Many more concerns, but ultimately with the present situation, we would NOT recommend new players joining this game until the above issues are resolved. We will continue to play and add to this review with every response we get from Joy City regarding the above. Im filing a report of it keep crashing and unable to play the game it we trying rebooting everything from our phone app to cellular data and WiFi data and uninstall it but now it wont even let us install it back and keeps saying it unable to install it.
This is the best pirate game for phones amazing graphics and this rates right up there with Seafight but it dose need a server merge the server we are on is completely dead all the updates favor pay to play the game is the five star great game but its gone downhill we’ve been stuck on level 27 for almost like six months trying to save materials to level up as this is an endless Process of getting nowhere Im to the point of just quitting.
We really love this game! It has everything to do with the Pirates of the Caribbean Movies and has awesome game play! Buuuut….. For some reason the developers saw fit to not include all characters when playing in Shansas Cave. Currently you can only receive Jack Sparrow, Davy Jones, and Salazar. But can not receive Blackbeard, Hector Barbossa, William Turner, Elizabeth Swan, Cutler Beckett, Angelica, and many other main characters from the movies? Also…. You have a story line that covers the entire movie series within five story blocks represented as ships in a bottle within Shansas Cave. Once you level up to beat each story block you get whats called a unique ship. Includes the Black Pearl, the Flying Dutchman, Queen Annes Revenge, HMS Endeavour, and the Silent Mary. But does not include any other main character ships from the movies? We believe in our opinion that this is a huge set back for the game and a ginormous mistake from the developers. Please make these available in future game updates. In every other aspect this game is worth getting and very fun to play with friends!

If you wish to live in the real world, you can’t play this game. Every weekend they massively incentivize everyone to attack others. In order to avoid this you have to log in at least every 8 hours or you will be attacked within a minute. It takes a full week to recover from one attack. And they let people freely move their base to two inches from you so one person can attack you 50x in a matter of minutes, meaning multiple weeks just to recover to where you were. Horrible game made infinitely worse by horrible developers.
We use the app to play the game, but used our Facebook to register. As of the 6pm today, we cant login through taping the fb button on the login screen for the game. We’ve clean reinstalled, restarted our phone, all of it, & every time we tap the fb button the game force quits. But because we registered with fb, email or google wont work to login. Help!
After questions a new game event, we as well as many have been asking questions on how it works. No one can get any response yet rewards are being sent to people that more than likely shouldnt be getting them. Terrible customer support and losing players fast.

Decent game but they do maintenance at strange times leaving you unable to log into the game. Devs dont bother to shield everyone after their maintenance so you wake up practically zeroed. They dont care enough to help you out when you contact them either.
Its a fun game after you build your fortress up to at least level 15, and thats with spending a dollar here or five dollars there, but then it takes a day and a half just to upgrade a building. Thats where the developers get their money. Genius idea on their part!

This is to the developer.. All the updates are for WiFi which is very retarded.. The developers cease your game from play, until you update thru WiFi or computer direct not giving you a choice to update when you choose.. The updates can be made in less than 300mb so that standard com signal can be used..
This started as a really fun game to play, however the developer has gotten so greedy they have made it impossible to compete unless you spend thousands. They are consistently merging servers because they havent taken any economic classes. If you drive off your fan base who spend less then $500 annually on this game (because they are merely canon fodder), those who spend thousands will have no one to fight and will subsequently stop playing as well…. If a quick buck is what your where looking for, congrats, however if you where looking a building a profitable game that provides years of equity, you really missed the mark…
Is this game even active anymore? More than a month ago the devs said they would be redoing their server merge plan… Still not a word about it. Meanwhile the players leave the game due to being bored. Sad when JoyCity asks for money in the game yet have no communication with players. We think a monkey in a cape would do better than the clowns at JoyCity . We have been asking for over a year for server merges but they keep ignoring it.
We been locked out our account for two days and we emailed customer service and still heard nothing from them. This is bull! Why cant they get back to us and help us out. DO NOT Download this game.
This is a fun game… But… JoyCity is greedy and doesnt care about you. This is a Pay To Win war game. Since there are already lots of high level players, you will be severely hampered unless you spend LOTS of money.
We love this game, but not all of the gameplay is fair . One of the problems we have is when another player or enemy starts attacking your territory . They do it once, they earn stuff . But some players constantly attack another persons territory which gets old for that person getting invaded . They should attack only once or twice and then be stopped from attacking more, so the person has a fair amount of resources and crew to use … Overall, its a very fun game . Lots of challenges .

We are unsure how else to reach the developers, but here’s what’s happening. You accidentally turned the picture of the Black Pearl from the first chapter into the Flying Dutchman. We noticed this awhile ago, but at the end of each chapter, on the mission in which you unlock a ship there is a picture of said ship. For the Black Pearls though, or for us at least, there’s the Flying Dutchman. Nothing major, probably just a mistake, but it exists.
First, those who complain about getting plundered, arent playing. It called pirate for a reason. There is shield protection from getting plundered. Just need to spend time and shield. There are spenders spending big money so dont try to compete with them. There are players who doesnt spend a dime and still get to high Lv. It is a beautiful game with a lot of free stuffs. Just need to know what you are doing and hold your ground. Dont let the spender drive you insane.
The game is fun, get way to make friends from all around the world. The only thing that makes the game a pain to play at time is the constant attacking and bullying that other players do to other players.

This game was great for the 4 days we were able to play it. Then there was an update and we have been locked out ever since. We’ve been in nonstop email change with costumer support but nothing is getting resolved. Im sick of verifying our account and then being told we can reset our password. That is not the issue our issue is our account doesnt exist and we spent money already and Im not spending it again. Dont play game. Not worth the headache of talking in circles.
Terrible experience with this game two days in and it refuses to allow our to upgrade anything when we have everything necessary to upgrade them we contract the people and they just sayed they will fix it in a couple weeks thats terrible two full weeks to fix your game.

We would like to know why we have not received a response to us being threatened with swatting. We sent all the info, screen caps regarding the threat. If this isnt taken care of or if we dont receive a response by 5pm 10/24/2018 we will be contacting our lawyer to get in touch with JoyCity and anyone involved in this game.
The game itself is not a bad game. There are little bugs to the game, and often little to no help from the company. The rules to the game are nonexistent, also causing problems. We’ve had the game for almost a year, have sent multiple emails to get nothing in return. Continuously watched one specific alliance cheat the game multiple times, nothing is done. That alliance is now the biggest in number(players using two or three accounts even) and mostly bullies their way through the game. Ongoing for a year and unlikely to end. BE WARNED!

Fun game but dont make any in app purchases. The main items and reason for making a purchase in the game did not arrive, only the secondary items arrive. Developers refused to honor the purchase claiming it was ok because we received the secondary items. We would not have purchased the package if the main items they refuse to send were not a part of it. Ill be filing a complaint with Apple and our credit card company.

We like the game as an escape. We have been playing for a while. We know that updates are needed to keep things running properly and securely. But this game seems to have a lot of updates and server reboots. We work odd hours so we are always impacted when there is a maintenance issue. LOL. All part of the game, right? Sometimes the updates dont load properly for Apple devices. But the company will work hard to try to correct them in a timely manor. Some support personnel are really good and quick to respond. Others, should find a new job. They try to keep the game fair. Yes you have your monster money spenders. But the developers dont go crazy with the packs and they stay consistent. We recommend this game.

We put money into this game. Really just for the sake of supporting the game. Great fun! WHEN YOU CAN LOGIN. We’ve had so much trouble just logging into this game its unreal. Customer support says you need certain info that you can only get if youre logged into the account to link it. Then they just spam you the same message over and over again. No phone number. Just the dumb emails. Childish support.
