A Glimpse into Possession of a Good Fortune

Manage your family in Jane Austen’s Regency England, where the ultimate goal is your social status! Climb the ranks of society through generations of your family, using education, careers, investments, fashion, parties, and most importantly, marriage. Beware, if you neglect your children, they may elope with a stranger, destroying your family’s reputation. Make sure each of your children is well-dressed, educated in decorum and the domestic arts, and has a healthy dowry to attract the best suitors. Use your influence to attend parties, where you might get a chance to dance with your suitors and elevate your status.

For a free game the ads are easy to skip and its a fun time passer! Great job developers.

We need more Jane Austen themed games!! Love this game. (I cant stop playing) we never write reviews but had to share how wonderful this game is :)

Its if Austen loved min-maxing while envisioning her characters in pixel form Please make another!

In LOVE with this game!! Theres a few glitches but no biggie. We only wish it had difficulty levels as its a bit easy at present.

Wish there were more things to do though.

Its a fun game for any Jane Austen fan but we played through it and bought the estate in about 2 to 3 hours.

Its hard to find games that scratch the Jane Austen itch! An excellent idea that (mostly) works. A life sim with an historical twist. Balance is the issue here: getting to 99% reputation is far too easy. Paying for university lessons gets you access to several tiers of jobs, so it always made sense to just pick the highest paying job. Should have been tougher to be the Archbishop, lol. Invitations to parties needed to cost energy or some other type of point system to attend; otherwise they were repetitive and had little consequence. There WERE experimental railroads back then, but they didnt technically exist in the Regency era (but thats only a minor complaint). :p Its not very clear when new generations begin, and when they do, they reset the ages to husband at 30 and wife at 20. This was probably a project for a budding game dev, so all we can really say is kudos! Hopefully theyll take what they learned here and make a brand new version or something similar. :)

Actually so fun + weirdly addicting. Its such a cute game idea, butttt – daughters are practically useless, we wish u could earn money from who they marry or something OTHER than the original dowry payment – we wish relationships existed, ones that could increase and decrease – we wish that property value increased – we wish you could choose to move on and which heir to move on with – we wish you could make notable friends that also helped u increase ur status!!

We love it but we needs more. Gets repetitive fast.

We found this game while looking for historical games. Our expectations werent too high, but this game exceeded them! Its very minimalistic, but its an entertaining strategy game with few ads! We completed the game (bought the estate) after about 2 hours, 3 generations, and with our familys social status at 99%. The reason we gave the game 4 stars is because its too short and because the end becomes sort of a grind. Overall, we think youll enjoy this game, whether youre a history fan or just someone trying to kill time. You might as well get it. After all, its free!

Loved this idea, we do think a few things could be changed if there were ever to be updates. The cost of clothing becomes way too expensive and stays expensive. Would be nice to choose which tier of clothing to be able to buy from. Then in consequence depending on your choices of clothing and other factors receive social standing points or what not. That being said the invitations would be fun if you were given a few choices of different tiers, that way you could pass some and others work towards. The individuals, it would be nice to see their charm, beauty and social skills such as this. That way, those skills and the style of clothes would be how you pass the gatherings from the invitations. The jobs we understand could move you to different tiers, but once you graduate university how could a 14 year old be an archbishop? Also would be fun if you had to choose specific paths to get to certain jobs. And all the paths had different levels and gave you different benefits for raising your social status. Someone mentioned this in their review, but once the new generation takes over it changes their scores (intelligence, beauty, age) would be nice if it stayed the same. Also we have some characters disappear like our daughter and wife. Some interesting events could happen and give the game a little change depending on your choice. Maybe no one else cares for this idea, but maybe people could get sick and you have to take them to the doctor, or they pass away? Too dark? Then scrap it. We know its not historically accurate buuuuut we would like it if the daughters could inherit the family. Or maybe you can choose the heir? The matches, what does the blue bar mean at the bottom? Also we are given some matches but we are not able to marry our children off to them. Why? Would be nice to see the stats of the matches for our children.

If you enjoy costume drama, particularly Jane Austen adaptions, youll enjoy this little game. We were surprised by how addicting it is given it isnt very modern looking.

You should add family trees, because people want to keep a track of who’s in their family and whos not, and if you make a family tree people to also control the woman, not only men, but it is nice, to be playing as the men and love how it is about status and working hard to get it.

The game is enjoyable, but is easy and gets repetitive VERY quickly.

One of the significant flaws of this game is the lack of essential elements such as titles or any other aspects that would make it more interesting and more relatable to that period.

Pretty good little game but currently fairly basic and too easy. Love the idea- just needs more things to do/difficultly.

Its get repetitive quick add some more content and better art.

Its a great concept for a game, but Perhaps if it had more elements to it, it would have been better. If it had more career choices, more courting, and better interaction at parties and within the family itself, it would have been a more enjoyable experience.

How do we play this? It wont let us go past the very beginning. We opened the app, picked a class, got one invitation that made us lose money gambling then nothing. We cant buy anything, go anywhere/accept invites. We didnt see anything like the pictures of the game. Help!

The clothes prices are obviously bugged and according to Reddit, have been for years. It makes it impossible to progress.
