Community Insight:

The new version is great! Much more responsive to our 6 year old. He finds the games entertaining and enjoys the rewards.

We played this with our 8 year old niece and she was hooked! She enjoyed the positive reinforcement and found the stories entertaining.

Our five-year-old started reading racer during the pandemic. He really enjoys it and we truly believe it helps his reading skills. It is actually very accurate and easy to see when he makes mistakes and progresses him well. This is one type of screen time you wont mind your child using.

We have been using v 4.0 and are pleased to see the level of accuracy esp. With our kiddos mixed accent! (We speak multiple languages at home). This app is such a great idea esp during this pandemic times when parents are juggling work and school at home. The app helps complete the needed reading time with minimal parental intervention! Also our kiddo loves the daily jokes! We love that the app allows the kids to make his independent choice of asking for help or trying to pronounce a word! Thanks for making kids better readers.

Such a great idea to inspire to read! Down side, downloaded to find it does not work with iPhone, iPad.

We tried the game ourselves first, in a quiet space, with volume turned full blast on the iPad. It could not hear anything we were saying….consistently told us we were wrong. If you watch carefully, you even see it happening on the video on the app page.

Worst app ever. We don't like readind.

Stopped working first 2 minutes Kid lost interest that quick.

This is an excellent learning tool that uses cutting edge technology to listen to a student read the words in a fun racing game.

The speech recognition in this app tracks along pretty well for our 5 year old. We really like that the app plays back the sentence after our son reads it. He will sometimes zoom through a sentence, mis-reading words and the 'replay' helps him to slow down and revisit the words he didn't know. Good for regular reading practice… The game is encouraging and there are a good variety of short stories.

Our 6 year old son and 8 year old daughter had a fun time reading stories out loud with Reading Racer this past weekend. They especially loved playing the app in "Race" mode. We were impressed that the speech recognition software worked as well as it did. Our daughter also enjoyed helping her brother while he was reading the stories.

Very fun game for early reader… It's got a game-like concept that engrossed younger kids so they motivated to learn reading.

It is sometimes a struggle to get our son to practice reading. We have done a lot of bribing. But he sees playing Reading Racer as a reward and we don't have to twist his arm to play.

Well this was fun. We downloaded and started playing with our niece. She is learning to read. And the game actually showed us when we were slurring our words. So not only does it work for kids, it is helping us with diction. And our niece loves to try and beat her Aunt. Too fun. We already sent the app to our kids for their kids. We look forward to racing our grandkids. Thanks for the tip! Racing On.

Great to get your kids reading aloud and have game time at the same time. Our younger twin had trouble reading and this was a great supplement to our reading together everyday. We didn't have to beg him to use the program – once he got the hang of it, he liked "racing." our older twin is a good reader but this game helped him slow down and annunciate. We recommend this for all developing readers especially those having trouble.
