It has been a while since Big Fish gave us a new adventure game of this caliber. Grandma Studios has two game series: Reflections of Light and Whispered Secrets. Reflections of Light is far superior. Check out Tree of Dreams if you haven’t played it yet. Anyway, the only aspect of this game we didn’t like were the muddy pastel graphics, which made it seem outdated. The game is otherwise very much up to date, with a teleporting map, configurable difficulty, and robust hint system. You have an owl companion who plays a very active role. Each scene is highly interactive, with many Easter eggs to discover. The only collectible is mirror shards, and the game tracks for you how many are left in each stage. Hidden object puzzles are novel and varied, as are the mini games. Several hours of gameplay, including a bonus AND hidden chapter. Buy on sale while you can!

Thank you so much from a game player – have MS but these stories make us forget everything that ails us.

Every now and then, a game comes around that knocks us off our feet and makes us say, "Wow!" This game should win a golden trophy for its solid delivery, an increasingly infrequent feat within the sometimes redundant hidden-object genre. It delivers an interesting although still thematically cliched storyline, challenging and innovative gameplay, and breathtaking visuals, thus rendering it a successful all-around production. The settings are magically portrayed, as demonstrated by the utopian, panoramic landscapes. The diverse personalities and whimsical appearances of the characters add substance to the fantastical storyline. We are impressed by the eccentric, long-haired King of Equilibrium, who is decked out in a neon-bright, long-flowing robe, and otherworldly face-paint, bearing an uncanny resemblance to King Thranduil of the Woodland Realm in Tolkien’s "The Hobbit." Gotta love that "man-bun"! The coloration exudes a radiant display of scintillating hues, and we often find myself halting progression to stare at the majestic scenes, just as we would stare at a museum’s work of art. The artistic designs of the HOSs are as mesmerizing as the gameplay itself. We are thoroughly entertained by the incorporated elements of cleverness and playfulness. The puzzles are equally impressive and creative, with varying levels of difficulty to appease most players’ preferences. We appreciate the opportunity to enable the mini-games on a harder setting. Be on the lookout for collectible shards hidden within each scene; you are guided by a side pull-out tab to keep status. The shards are well camouflaged into the background. Each scene is jam-packed with multiple tasks to effectuate, so players should be consistently kept on their toes. This sequel implements layers of highly interactive gameplay. There’s also a Hidden Chapter to play upon completion of the Bonus Chapter, lengthening overall playtime. We have two trivial gripes: One uncharacteristic hindrance is that the inventory items become and remain unlabeled after acquiring them, which is an unpleasant surprise; therefore, pay attention to and note their labeled names at the point of obtaining them. Furthermore, overall transition is a bit slow, although not buggy, but the other mechanics are glitch free. This game is like a wonderful birthday present from the box, to the wrapping paper, to the pretty bow on top. It is, in our opinion, one of the better games of the year, at least in a long time. We strongly suggest giving the free trial a spin. Our true rating is 4.5 stars, detracting a half star for the unlabeled inventory; however, we bumped our rating up to a well-deserved five (5) stars.

No glitches, no problems. Interesting characters and story.

Many interesting features not found in other games. We really enjoyed it.

Good puzzles, great graphics. We could do without the RomperRoom mirror thing, but, all in all a very enjoyable game.

Please make more like this!! Lots and lots of puzzles, and they were really unique as well! We mean seriously, most we had never seen before. We loved the one with the interlocking rings, in which you have to logically maneuver colored balls into the center. Not many HOS, which Im okay with, and you do each one twice. The mirror/rune thing was a little trite, but way better than just find amulet, insert amulet, repeat. We had no technical difficulties at all. The game is lengthy; we didnt get the achievement for completing the main game in six hours! Like when do we ever have a game nowadays that takes more than two hours including the bonus?? We played this game over three days, lots of bang for your buck. We may be in the minority, but we liked finding the shards. Yes, they are hard to find, (at least the blue ones are), but thats why we liked it, we love a challenge! It helps if you realize that there are always one blue, one green, and one purple in each scene. If you get stuck or frustrated, the guide shows you the location of every shard. And after you finish the entire game you can go back and collect any missing shards, which then unlock a hidden chapter, which is just an interactive HOS. The only issue, and its minor, is that twice part of the text was covered up by the top of the inventory bar. This did not affect the game in any way, so we did not deduct any stars for that. Verdict: if you love puzzles, then this game is for you!! Thank you GrandMa Studios!!

The goods: The best thing about this offering from Grandma is that it is very long; a great bargain! The second best thing is the variety of mini games with several levels of difficulty. There was only one game (the very last one) we had to skip, but that might have been more due to fatigue from all the gameplay than to difficulty. We also liked the storyline enough to keep us engaged though it wasnt greatly original. The graphics were beautiful with lots of little details (a plane flying through distant skies, a super-charged bunny, facial expressions in floating objects), the environmental sounds were delightful, and this game also had all the conveniences of the teleporting map with active areas, marked interactive objects, collectibles count track, etc. The not-so-goods: Those shards! They are indeed very hard to find at times, though we have to admit that once we got the hang of it, we enjoyed the challenge. There was one occasion where the shard was actually hidden by the inventory panel (I had to complete that one after the game end) and being up for the challenge meant we spent way too much time looking for it before finally giving up. Which brings us to the technical issues… Tap motion was slightly off at times; towards the end of the main game the screen would go dark for way too long (more than 10 seconds, leading us to think it was crashing) during transition of locations/scenes; some slow-motion issues with cutscenes; and objects either partially hidden or too close to the edge of the screen making interaction difficult and causing you to accidentally leave a location. The back-and-forth and the lack of inventory labels were minor irritations. Because the issues and irritations were minor compared to the enjoyment we got out of playing this game, Im giving it 4 solid stars.

Grandma brings us this offering and while it has some good aspects there are a couple of things that Im begging they leave out of the next game. Please for the love of gaming drop the darn move the ring around the scene and find the runes. Do you have any idea how tedious that is on an iPad? And those transparent glass shards you have to find in every scene. Ok so you guys gave us a sidebar telling how many are left to find. Doesnt help our crossed eyes. But if you dont mind headaches and smudged screens give it a try – particularly since its the only offering this week.

Lost a few steps of progress multiple times when reopening the game; Otherwise would have been a 5-star game. Very long gameplay.

We thought the free trial was too short to get a feel for the game. It seemed very odd and a bit slow.

This game had a lot going for it but it missed the mark. The interface is, at times, frustrating but we did enjoy the unique aspects of the game. It had puzzles and interactions we havent seen in other games. We loved the graphics and the shards that you need to find in each scene. Where this game really lost stars for us was the storyline. The premise of the story is really intriguing but its almost like they tried to pack too many sub stories into the main story. Instead of being lost in the storyline we found myself struggling to keep up when it shot off on another tangent. Its frustrating to us because this had the potential to be a REALLY good game if they had tweaked just a few things.

We are a very avid player of this genre of game and always purchase the new releases on Monday and Thursdays. Even if the game isnt the best, we can often play it regardless as a nice time waster. We were disappointed that no new game was available Monday, then Big Fish releases a game from 2015, marked as new and slaps their high price tag on it. The game itself was wonderful for the particular time it was made aside from the slew of technical issues. But now it felt super dated and boring. First time we did not purchase the full game in as long as we can remember. Do better Big Fish, do better.

And hard to follow. Glad it was done.

Big Fish…. Are you on vacation where everyone took off… Even the game creators? At the same time? One game this week and this is it? Pathetic Hossryder.

Fantasy is our favorite genre but this game missed the mark. Our review will be short and to the point! Usually we enjoy offerings from Grandma Studios, but we feel this game had too many technical issues which made it tedious to play rather than entertaining. We found that the game was not reacting properly, like things were happening in slow-motion. The graphics were quite blurry, or they would have been spectacular. Finding the glass shards was torture on the eyes, and if you dont find them all you dont get the extra chapter. There were touch-screen sensitivity issues in play, and at times it was difficult to combine items in the HO scenes, or to apply inventory tools, and hard tapping was necessary. In addition, it was hard to find where exactly the inventory bar had its labels, and we cant always remember what an item is or where we need to use it. The storyline was unoriginal. Most of the puzzles were of the boring and uninspiring rotational genre. However this was the only offering we received from BigFish this week so we purchased the game. The actual gameplay did hold our interest and there was a plethora of tasks to accomplish at each location. Our rating will remain at 3 stars for average. BigFish, at least distribute games that run properly! The game had already been updated before its release and it still did not work well. Happy gaming to all!

We after playing this installment of Reflections of Life we went back and played the previous installment: The Tree of Dreams. We noticed that the previous installment was smoother in game play and seemed more updated. This installment had a lag time we found annoying. The story was long with not much plot behind it. The previous installment had better graphics and where as this installment was faded. Add to this the short introduction left us disappointed and playing just to get our $3.99 out of it.

Some of the look and fine images were really hard to find. We also noticed that anything that was found and placed in the inventory it only told you what they were when you found them…. If you tap or hold on the item it wouldnt tell you what it is again. This made it difficulty when you had a lot of stuff in your inventory and trying to put where they needed to go.

Really disappointed in this game. It felt very clunky, slow to respond and old. Inventory of collected items were not labeled, so you had better remember everything that you collect and will need to use later. Storyline, we felt was disjointed with lots of pointless running around. The mirror and finding ruins has been used so much in other games that it is tiresome. After only getting 1 new release, this was a Huge Disappointment. The graphics for us were very hard on our eyes, blurry and just to much sparkle ( cannot put our finger on why they gave us a headache. Finding shards as collectibles was not fun and to hard to spot with the coloration of the scenes. Sure hope to see a much better game this next release and that Big Fish does not short us this upcoming week. Hopefully, some of you find this more entertaining than we did. ( Could put us to sleep ) KdBoots.

This is the first game sold by BFG that we havent purchased the full version in a REALLY long time. The graphics are busy and far too bright. Literally everything is shining and glowing. The action is slow and labored. The interface is horrible. Graphics arent great. The HOP we played was okay in that it was unique, but it didnt explain instructions at all, and at first was confusing. Also, the demo only played through the 3rd scene which is highly unusual, and wasnt enough time to get immersed in the storyline so we felt we had to continue, like other games. It wasnt even really a cliffhanger, just a wolf pulling something out from under a bed. Not impressed. Im sad because we wanted to play a game tonight, but dont want to waste money on this! Guess we just have to wait for the next one.

We played the sample game, but it was very short. Hard to tell if the game will be any good. For what we DID see, it was only fair. The puzzles were lame. Put the pieces into the drawing, but with one piece missing? Yawn. The HO scenes were odd, too. We completed them, but they were too odd for our taste. It had us going through three scenes to locate and place items. No directions were given, so you have to figure it out for yourself. And the owl? It flew to the vines, then by sheer luck we figured out what to do on the third try, and the use of the hint button. This game is not for us.

Liked the graphics and story. Sometimes the games inside the game wouldnt work. Had to skip too many because you couldnt play them. Finding the shards you need was impossible in some scenes, they didnt show up well. Your tapping all across the screen, and you still cant find them. One game of complete the picture was so frustrating because you could not move the tiles in directions you needed, only up and over. Was very frustrating, and you could not reset the games to restart, you just had to skip the game.

Lots of technical issues. Difficult to get inventory items recognized, vanishing inventory items, disappearing shards. And we play on a new device and dont leave anything else open. We couldnt finish it. Its a good game, but youre probably going to struggle.

Cannot not move any further in the game. We would rate this game higher if we could play it. Im am in the throne room where you are supposed to put the red and blue crystals on the throne. We have even hit the hint button to verify thats what we were supposed to be doing. So this is where our game is ending for us.

Reviewer Zan hit the mark. Graphics are blurry and the game feels very dated. We played through until the final scenes with demons and spines and bones– too much–just to spread out a poor plot. Like other reviewers, we are usually a fan of Grandma’s work, but like Zan, we returned to an "older" game to check it out. That older game seems new. As MY grandma might say, we think we have been hornswoggled. Please, BF, give us our due, truly new games at least twice a week and not just filler. You know we will buy them and spread the word! Again, we have been an loyal player of all your games since 2012, so can we have some more MCF or Surface (my 1st BF game) or that lovely Donna Brave–essentially games that have it all– eye candy graphics, great music, intricate puzzles, and collectibles with wit and humor. Really? Barely visible jewels against a muddy backdrop? Our true rating is 1.5. No desire to complete game.

The scenarios are senseless. Dont waste your time.

Our favorite thing to do is to locate hidden objects and play HOPs. We usually can ignore the plot (fantasy games), but not this time. Almost impossible to find the hidden shards. Inventory items are not labeled once found. Not linear. The only positive is that the refresh rate is fast at 10 seconds. We deleted this game after only playing for about an hour. Another wasted $3.99!

Dont even waste your time. Absolutely stupid game.

No labels on inventory, shards impossible to find, puzzle instructions were vague. We dont think we’ve ever skipped as many puzzles in all our previous games as we did in this one. We even used the guide(something we never do) for the ring puzzle and even that didnt explain how to do it. The graphics were too busy and monochromatic. Im sorry we bought it. We didnt even want to finish it.

Every time we try to place the acrobat, it crashes. Actually, every time we touch the acrobat. So, we cant go any further in the game. This was a huge waste of money and we do NOT recommend this game. Furthermore, everything was just too… Busy. There was a lot going on in every scene with colors, flowers, etc. We never knew where to look. It was a bit distracting. The shards were pretty impossible to the point where it wasnt fun to search anymore. It was just tedious and a waste of time.

What’s the deal? Another fantasy, dragons, wizards, magic potions, puzzle! When, Big Fish, are you going to give us some REAL adventure, crime, historical, etc games? Please, anything but these sappy fantasy games that are GARBAGE for those of us that eagerly look forward to challenge and excitement in our games! Another game we refuse to buy, so we will have to re-play some of the past, GOOD games!

Trying to play the trial. Problem is a large red rectangle keeps popping up on the faces and other scenes on the screen. We would love to buy this game, the graphics and voice overs are great. We deleted the game and reinstalled, same problem. Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions?

The first scene told us it was bad. Worst graphics and colors we’ve ever. Its chaotic visually and you cant see things. These types of games look like theyre made for 7 year old girls and we dont think they have money to spend. Wont but this!!!
