What Makes Rummy 500 Plus Stand Out
Rummy 500 (also known as Persian Rummy, Pinochle Rummy, 500 Rum, 500 Rummy) is a popular Rummy game which is similar to straight Rummy but distinct in the sense that players may draw more than just the upcard from the discard pile. This significantly increases the level of complexity and strategy involved in the course of play.
According to the most commonly played Rummy 500 rules, points are scored for cards that are melded, and points are lost for cards that are not melded (ie deadwood) and remain in a player’s hand when someone goes out.
In order to fully enjoy rummy 500, there are a few rules of the game you should know along with tips and strategies to help you become a better player. This is a game that can be very fast paced and alertness is the key to winning or at least making a good show.
• The game, like most can be played with 2-4 players
• Only one deck with jokers is used
• 7 cards are distributed to each player
• The objective is to be the first player to reach the goal of 500 points.
• Even if there is more than one player that makes it to the target, only the highest scoring player will be declared the winner.
• You have to form sets and sequences. Sets are any 3-4 cards of the same rank and a sequence are same suit cards in order, 3 or more cards. This is how scoring is done in rummy 500, the sets and sequences are tabulated according to the values of each card.
• Game play consists of drawing a card to start your turn and discarding to end the turn.
• There is a third choice during the turn and this is to lay down a meld or add to a meld someone else has made. This second move is referred to as building.
• The jokers are considered “wild” cards and can be used as any other card in a set or sequence.
• You can pick up one or several of the discarded cards but you have to use the last one played.
• When taking cards from the discard pile you have to use it immediately to form a meld or the move is invalid.
• All of the royalty cards are worth 10 points, the ace can be valued at 11 points depending on its value place in a meld and it is 15 penalty points if you get caught with it. The Joker counts as the value of the card it replaces and adds 15 penalty points.
• Each game is made up of a series of rounds.
• The score from each round is added in succession. When the total point of any player reaches the target score or exceeds it, that player is said to be the winner.
• Game ends when target is reached, if there is a tie a play off is started and the winner of this gets the pot.

We love this game. We tend to not play for a few weeks and get stuck for weeks. It reminds us of our great, great aunt. We wish there was a way to get rid of ads. We would pay a few dollars to stop them so we can just play the game.
We really like the game. The most annoying is having to collect points in two different spots at end of game. We might not understand how it works but annoys us. The game has great features. We play it everyday.
Love this game but when the Star Trek sound track comes on it is very annoying. No relaxing when that starts.
Overall not too bad. Played numerous games over a few weeks. Noticed little glitches now and then. Would not let us pick up cards to make a meld but the computer could. BUT when the computer duplicated the same card in one meld that was the end of this game for us.
The game wont let you pick up playable cards sometimes. We had the queen and ace of spades and it wouldnt let us pick up the king. Another time we had a king and 10 and a joker and tried to pick up the queen and it wouldnt let us. Also we notice that if we go first and dont use the discard, after we discard the computer can pick up both without using them immediately. But it wont let us do the same.
Please offer an ad-free option. We love the game but we HATE the long, long ads.
Great game but game freezes, wont let you play cards at times, as far as the ads, yes there are a lot of ads but keeping them short helps.
The game is great overall but there is at least one flaw that Im noticing. It cheats – the computer will pick up the initial card and not use it. This happened several times in a row. Another set back is that Im unable to pick up a card from the discard pile (we have a queen of hearts and the king is in the pile it wont let us pick up that card to avoid a rummy). Other than that at the time of this review its a pretty solid game.
Every move there is an ad, every round there is an ad. Ridiculous and repetitive. Would gladly pay a fee to make the ads go away.
Lots of bugs and stupid play by the automaton. They just instituted 30 second commercials between hands instead of the 5 sec ads they used for years. Im deleting the app now – no where near good enough to warrant the volume of ads they are trying to impose.
Why does it take us 15 attempts to deck our throw away card? Why do we have to keep swiping our card over to have it bounce back to our hand?? We hope its something Im doing and we dont have to delete this app.
If there is a joker in the meld,say in the middle of a run and we want to add to the sequence it will Not allow us to do so, but if we discard it the next player picks it up and is able to add to the sequence we were just denied. We have lost many games because of thisFIX IT.
Its a good game ,l really enjoy it because lm playing with other people ,makes it more fun than playing the computer, its so much better than our old 500 rummy game, and you never seen the person , and you very seldom got to play a real person, keep up the good work!..Aj.
This game is so fun while also challenging your brain to work and think, you can be anywhere is you want to play this game, the couch, waiting for someone or something to happen, or when you just need to waste time. We love this game so much and definitely recommend you get this game, 5 out of 5.

Ive tried a lot of other Rummi Games but this one is the best! Easy to play and we like the set up and overall look. Its fun and we love that there are no additional fees! We cant stop playing! Definitely recommended.

Ive been looking for a Rummy 500 game to play on our iPad for so long. Have one on our desktop that we purchased and all we could find for Apple was Gin Rummy which is NOT what we wanted, we tried so many different versions and NONE OF THEM came close to what we were used to. This one has jokers which doesnt excite us but Ive gotten used to them. Ive had this now for 3 weeks and think Ive only lost 4 games as Im really good at it. So thank you for the closest Rummy 500 game! 5 stars.
This 500 Rummy game is so captivating for us, we honestly enjoy playing and at times we cant stop.
Love this game and different game modes, rules and scoring is just how we remember playing with family and friends as a kid. Just unsure as to why its only the same 10 people or so as opponents.

Great game…except when computer gets to break the rules…like when you take more than top card, you must use the bottom one right away….computer doesn't always.
Fun game, but the computer is not always required to play by the rules. The comp will pick up a stack of cards and lay down without using the last card picked up. Makes for a frustrating game sometimes.
It is a nice way to pass the time.
Im trying to find out what the achievements and the quest are in the game and we cant find any help with it even online.
We play almost every night. Keeps us busy, sharpens the mind. Like it.
Overall the game is fun to play, even with all the ads that get overwhelming at times. However, Ive noticed lately that the computer cheats like crazy. Often we will not be able to play a card for many turns and then once we discard it the computer will play that card and collect the points. Humorous as it is, it is still annoying.
Once we figured out how to discard, it has been great.
Plays relatively well and has plenty of options. Had a few glitches. Occasionally it will have the some of the cards from the previous round still on the table. Also after a game sometimes just randomly closes. Generally it plays well though.
Love the game but the advertisements need to be edited.
Im revising our review which originally was a 4 star. Now it gets a 3 star because we discovered something that was first brought to our attention from another review but frankly, his explanation was hard to understand but now we see what he means. The rule of the game is when you take a bunch of cards from the open deck, you have to use the card thats the card you picked up from, and this game only allows you to pick up where it knows you can use the card. However, when playing against the computer, the computer is allowed to pick up anywhere and doesnt need to use the card it picked up from. Thats basically cheating.
The game is good! The ads are for nasty games about abusive boyfriends and husbands. We would have rated the game higher otherwise.
Only issue we have is that you cannot always apply for extra chips. They tell you apply again and you never get to watch the video for extra chips. Other than that the game is a lot of fun.
And make it so you can play live against other.
Prone to occasional crashes. Computers are not programmed to fully follow Rummy rules. Computer can freely pick up stack of cards without using the bottom card. Violation of rules. Could be greatly improved with easy programming fixes.
We overall liked the game, our biggest issue was the the rules only seemed to apply to the human (us) playing the game and not the computer. For example…one rule of rummy is that the bottom card you take from the pile must be played. The system ensured we followed that rule but the computer would pick a card up just to discard it a second later. Another issue we had was that as the human player we were limited on what cards we could pick up (they were highlighted), whereas it was apparent that the computer didnt have that rule apply to it. We looked in the settings to determine if we could change any of these issues but was unable too. We enjoy the game of Rummy but we also want to enjoy a game Im playing via an app with a computer and not feel cheated.
We played this game on iOS and android, we like the android version way better. Why wouldn't you have the same game versions on the different platforms? We don't like how the discard pile can't be seen when making a discard, and the adds are terrible, they freeze up or the don't load in all the way, then you have to close out and restart the game, gets annoying after 10+times. Sometimes it won't let us pick up cards that we are able to pick up, we had the 10 and the heart pile was played up to the 9 and the J was in the discard pile and it wouldn't let us pick it up. We really like this game, we would give it 5 if it had these easy fixes made. Also, make the players smarter, dudes throwing As away with two As already in the discard pileOne more thing make so we can make more money . If we see these changes we'll come back and make it a 5.
This is another example of a good game that got ruined by the way ads are shown. The X is very small, and even though you see the X, touching it wont exit the ad for the first 15 or so seconds. Instead, it takes you to the App Store. Its this type of straight up deception that would make us NEVER give this author or the products in their ads a dime until they changed that.
Its a fun game that plays fairly well. Trying to discard is quite annoying. Your card needs to be placed on the discard section perfectly. When it isnt placed perfectly, it will drive you crazy.
The game is nice but the pop ads are annoying and cannot make any purchase to eliminate them! Please do something about the ads.
You almost always win. No challenge. Computer makes mistakes allowing you to win. Can you make it more challenging for different skill levels. We do enjoy the game otherwise.
Dealers Gambit crashes every single time. Cannot resume game. Boots us out of the app. The rest of the games are OK. Its kind of easy though. We have 44 million coins and counting. Make it more challenging.
Wish it had more time to see the end score. We would like to see it. Also the add is the same and its kinda boring. We would also like a bigger space to put the trash cards in… Sometimes it takes a few times to actually get the card in the trash. But we like the game to kill time.
The app becomes unresponsive when and app plays and you have to close the game and open it back up again. Very annoying. Also the computer opponents dont seem to follow the same rules 1- the pick up the stack and dont play the bottom card. 2- they will pick up a card and then put it right back down. Very frustration to play this way.
Okay app. Never get to see your score unless you watch an ad. Takes all the fun out of the game to see the same slot ad over and over if you want to know the score. Even then it doesnt always show. But okay for killing time.
