Hear from the Players – SKYHILL Reviews

Find out what gamers are saying about SKYHILL:

We bought this on steam earlier today and Im so glad they have a version for iOS. Not sure what some of these older reviews are, but we’ve have no problems with running the game.

Cant understand why this has so few reviews. It flies under the radar but its great.

We really enjoy the game. We would like to have the ability to salvage the items we dont need into scrap metal or wood. Still great game.

Bought the game yesterday, really fun, we tried the game today, freezes up at the main menu, tried closing it down and reopening it, tried deleting and downloading it again, tried restarting our iPad pro, still nothing, we want a refund. Edit: as soon as we submitted this review it started working, thats some real shady tactics, hold the player hostage until they give a review even after theyve given you their money. Edit edit: Never mind still freezing, give us back our money you cheats.

This is the best zombie game/app. We’ve found. It’s strategy based, not a shoot em up. The graphics and narrative are eerie and complement the post apocalyptic vibe. You have to scavenge objects and build new items and foodstuffs to better your chances. There’s a lot of cool food you can make and weapons too as you open up those trees. This game is a lot of fun and it’s hard to stop playing once you start. Graphics are a mix of cartoon and horror, and the room layouts add a lot to the claustrophobic setting. Well designed original and interesting.

It’s a pretty cool survival horror game with nice replay value. 8/8 gr8 m8.

It s fun we love this great game.

The game has unlimited replay ability and is extremely fun, with a great mix of RPG, dungeon crawling, and action/horror. The mechanics of the game are actually quite well done, but one thing that feels massively off is the accuracy of attacks. It feels like the actually accuracy mechanic of the game is a consistent 50/50%, despite your character stats. We have had 95% chance to hit on all three attacks, and still managed to hit for about 50-60% accuracy. How is that possible? Please fix this. The RNG feels really off.

We are thoroughly enjoying the game and its replay value with various difficulties and bonus combinations. We just have to beg the developers: please, PLEASE add a switch to turn vibration off! If we’re playing it at night before we fall asleep, running into a room with a cell phone sets of an uncontrollable chain of VOOPing that startles us, wakes the spouse, etc. The only solution currently is to go into accessibility settings and disable ALL vibrations for the entire phone. Which means if you forget to turn them back on after you’re done playing, you miss calls, alarm clocks, appointment reminders… Please add this one simple setting switch that is the only thing holding it back from being a 5-star favorite app!

But we had to delete it after we saw the perk "bulimia." we’re sure it’s the game makers sense of humor, but it’s wasted on us. We feel like this game is somewhere between a horror point and click, and crossyroads. A repetitive adventure game. Not bad, but not worth revisiting.

We go back to this game about one month a year, its a good game in spurts like that, unfortunately cant get our fill on the newest iPhone iteration. Crazy game breaking bugs on the iPhone X character walks off the screen never to be seen again. Camera never pans down. Make it playable for us again!

Too much luck very little player choice. Idk maybe we will come back to it later and update our review. At least its fairly cheap.

Some times when we Leave the game and get back on there are More mutes.

We think the game has potential, but needs to have some things implemented that it really should have. 1. A save system, no matter how you exit the game, you usually end up somewhere else in the building that you already passed, but you dont have the items that you had, and your enemies that you killed respawned. This is the biggest problem with Skyhill. 2. More events, the possible events are really anti-climatic, and don’t really have any effect on the player in our opinion. 3. Implement a recycling system, weapons that you dont really need, examples kitchen knives and stilettos, you should be able to recycle items like those for scrap metal, blades, etc. 4. Perks, the current perks are really awkward and unnessecary, some of them give you a disadvantage rather than a helping hand, or a quirky skill you could use in a situation. We think either adding better perks or improving the current ones is a good idea. 5. Add more skill level flexibility, the level system in Skyhill is really basic, and only really matters because of the weapons requiring a certain level of strength, speed, etc. We think that there should be more positives for each, like speed could also increase dodging rate of enemy attacks, dexterity could allow less food to be expended, and strength could increase crit chance.

It’s ok, we guess, it’s honestly one of those games you can find for free on an online gaming site. Not worth. The four dollars. U could get a much better game for four dollars.

Very weak game. Combat is dull and lackluster, storyline is horrific and riddled with 3rd grade english. At least we only spent $3.00 on this trash.

Boring after a few floors. It’s either ridiculously easy or ridiculously hard. Combat gets very boring. The writing is terrible. We’re thinking it’s either due to the poor English translation or just poor writing. Either way, not worth 3 bucks. Go buy a pack of cheap cigarettes instead. You will need them to get the bad taste out of your mouth.

We almost deleted this game when we hit about level 50. We had started our first game on Easy difficulty, and it was just… A little TOO mindless. So, right off the bat, if you’re looking for something with a challenge, DON’T START ON EASY DIFFICULTY. The mechanics are simple enough to pick up (you even have an option in the menu to add an icon to everything you can search, which I’d also recommend turning off), which can help you get into everything. The crafting is simple enough, there’s no recipes to find (while more are unlocked by upgrading benches, you never have to figure out or search for a recipe), enemy fights are easily figured out (2 or 3 options where to hit each with a connect percentage and damage output, risk/reward style), food and health are handled incredibly intuitivly… It’s just incredibly well made. In fact, it’s so well made in the UI department that it almost feels quite a bit more minimal than it really is. Basically, it fits perfectly on mobile. Cloud saves/auto-saving every move so you can quit at any time and restart wherever you were… The only negative thing we can say is that while GameCenter is supported, there are no achievements or leaderboards (maybe just in there to help with Cloud support?? No clue…) – but it’s strange there no being anything in GC while the game obviously supports it. So if you’re an achievement hunter or leaderbord score chaser, you should know that ATM, there’s none of that included here. Hopefully it’ll be added in a future update. But until then, if you can deal with the no leaderboard/achievements thing (personally, we have no issues with it, just finding it strange), this is a fantastic roguelike with crafting elements combined with a point and click survival adventure game… And while we don’t think it’ll wind up on many GOTY lists, it’s definitely a stand-out game in the AppStore, well worth it’s $3 price tag.

A seamless port of an amazing game! The world is a better place for point n click games in pixel art! Thank you Dev team.

So you are in this hotel or apartment building that has 99 floors plus the vip floor. The object is to make your way down to the first floor alive. This game is almost like "this war of ours " but in a zombie world. You craft weapons, food, or fortify your common area. This game is really fun and it’s a new experience every time simply because everything is regenerated each time you play. It’s a fun time killer. The exploration is only limited to the building so don’t expect to much but it’s a challenging survival game.

The only reason we gave it 4 stars is because when we recycled a cleaver it gave us wire. The crafting ingredients are tape, blade, and wood and yet it gave us a wire when we recycled it. Makes little sense too us but then again it just came out so we gave it a good rating. Oh and one more thing! GET THE GAME IT IS REALLY FUN!

Was a cool idea, but the combat is annoying and the environments are stale as hell. Wasted time and money.

We’re using an iPod 5th generation and at first the game stared up normally and when we opened it the second time the game didn’t say loading after the title screen and just stayed black for a couple of minutes.
