Slay the Spire Reviews

Its a favor for people loving this game to play on ipad, but ipad mini6 needs 3:2 display model. THX :)

Please provide controller support for backbone!

We love this game and Backbone support would be amazing!

Thanks for the amazing port! Would you consider adding controller support?

We cannot rate this game high enough. We played hundreds of hours on pc, and at least a hundred more on IOS. It may be tough to get the hang of at first, but after a few runs you learn a lot and get hooked in. There is a lot of depth here, and working up the Ascensions (higher difficulties you unlock) is a blast. Seriously worth every penny, you will get your moneys worth out of it.

Changed 2 star to 5 after they quickly fixed the issues that the patch had caused. Great game, 100% here and on PC but we keep playing.

Im not sure why everyone is complaining about the port. Everything works fine. This is a quality game, its up there with Dead Cells and Stardew Valley. Games like this should be supported. All the miserable microtransaction free to play not free to play games need to die. Gaming on the iPhone is a market that could be so much better.

Love the game, need controller support.

Love the game and would really love backbone support.

We get like 7 hours a week on this and its the only thing getting us through long school periods.

Great game, v2.2.2 update made it very difficult to select cards, but v2.2.3 fixes it. Thank you!

Love the game and would really love backbone support.

One of our favorite games of all time. We’ve been playing since 2019 on steam and have around 400 total hours combined from steam, iOS, and Nintendo switch. Its a hefty price especially for an app but its the full fledged game that costs $25 on all other platforms so it really is a steal. The game runs great and the iOS port is nothing short of exceptional. Support indie developers!!

This is our favorite game, so we were glad to see it on mobile. However, there are some tiny bugs and few issues (the first card you click each turn doesnt register, the map button, deck button, and settings are all VERY close) but for the most part, great game.

Love this game through and through. We are used to playing it on controller though and have had several instances where we will sometimes accidentally play cards without meaning to with touch controls. Not a big deal, but controller support on iOS would be a game changer for us!

We are a 42yo gamer and this title is in our top 3 of total hrs spent. Please add more content, a sequel, dlc, something!

One of our favorite games to waste time on and die in, even if you dont win, learning the enemy patterns and making ridiculous synergies is still a delight to do. We have yet to run into bugs and have played the game a ton on PC and it seems like a solid port. Would recommend.

Idk why 4.1 stars game has no flaws, exciting no adds and you can play for hours.

This game is so fun but please add controller support!

Quite a good ripping good time Daily missions are perfect and im a guy who loves his wife.

Awesome game. Highly recommend. Would love it even more if it added controller support.

We don’t want to play anything else.

And for good reason, yes technically there was a few before this but this is THE game that put the genre on the map, and for good reason. The gameplay is solid, good music, and fairly good visuals.

As a lifelong strategy game enthusiast, we can confirm this game has near perfect balance. It gets better the more you play it.

This game looks simple, but actually is very deep and interesting. Every run feels unique and even after a week of playing there’s so much more content to explore. This game is one of those who will be remembered after decades.

We love this game and Backbone support would be amazing!

Huge fan of StS and have been waiting a long time for a mobile port. And now we play on the phone more than on the computer! The interface could be a bit better but it is improving. Some small fiddly options like toggling beta art seems to almost never hit the tough target. And this seems to be a straight port, as in your finger is the mouse and the game is 1:1. This has been updated a bit with some Menus being made bigger. As we put in our title we use a normal iPhone X, the game runs smoothly and we can still play the game smoothly. Great port! So happy to have it mobile!

We love this game but we would love for it to have controller support!

We do not understand why this isnt rate five stars. We read people complaining about the port – which means to us that there must be a better version on some other platform but who cares this one is good enough for us. It is one of our favorite iPad games and it makes a multi-hour plane flight seem to go by quickly. We have absolutely gotten our moneys worth.

The game is great but could definitely benefit from connecting to a controller or backbone.

Excellent game with nearly endless replayability and the touch control issues have been resolved.

This port desperately needs an undo button. Its far too easy to accidentally play the wrong card, which has the potential of ruining an entire run. We’ve shouted expletives at our phone many times.

Although Im a huge gamer on PCN console, this is one of the few mobile games that we play. And we play it incessantly. And we dont even like card games! This is an astounding, high-quality experience. We adore the nuanced gameplay, the art style we grew to really appreciate, and the hints of lore are tantalizing. We’ve gotten our whole family into it! No bugs, no issues that we’ve seen. Has always been nothing but rock solid for us. IPhone 13 on 15.5.

Edit: upping our review buy one so as to t punish the amazing developers for a subpar port . You do get accustomed to the crappy controls after a while. StS is one of our favorite PC games but playing on iPad is a pita because the card selection controls are so bad. There are countless games where you have to read and select cards and we’ve never once complained about how it was implemented. The first issue is the text is off the screen (which is completely unnecessary on iPad). So you have to tap to bring the card up (usually you just tap hold in games to read a card). But its a fine line between whether the game thinks you want to read a card or use it. Sometimes you think youve dropped a card and go to play another but play the first card. Its just janky and sticky. If you read a card that doesnt require a target and tap to dismiss it, it plays it instead. We’ve played more wrong cards in this game in 5 plays then in every other deck builder combined over our entire life. Fix it for five stars. Also the sound is really tinny and there are some sounds that sound literally like static.

This turned out to be our favorite game of all time.

We love this game but please support controller support! It would make it so much smoother to play on mobile.

So we never really got into games like these. However, this has quite joy become our favorite game. Hop on and play a few floors if you have a few minutes to spare, or spend 4 hours trying to pass an ascension. The game does get hard, but its not the we hate this game, why cant we beat it kind of hard. No pay to win, very well balanced. It can be annoying to spend a while run building a specific deck just to have the last boss be a counter to it. All in all, if youre into card deck building games, we have a feeling this is a game for you. (Also NO ADS AND NO PAY TO WIN). Shoutout to the developers. Edit: we read some reviews about the interface and controls not being good. Maybe its because Im new to these games, or maybe they updated it, but we find them to be fairly nice. Maybe a 7.5/10 for interface.

This game is extremely fun to play. As of Nov 2021 it runs like butter, and its pretty easy on the battery life too. Highly recommend.

We have played this game SO MUCH that we have basically memorized how each enemy, random event, relic, and card works, and yet we still like it because of how random it can be, sometimes there are a huge line of events straight to the boss, sometimes theres a cluster of elites, but despite this, we dont often get bored, we know there are people who think this game should just be forgotten and just let to collect dust, but they havent seen the Diamond under the coal, this game is absolutely amazing! We first learned about this from a ytbr who plays rouge-likes/lites, puzzle, and strategy games and when we saw this on the App Store, we were thrilled to know that there a companies that partners with companies that only make games compatible for pc and port them to mobile, we like how companies like you try to keep the game as close to the og as possible while also making it comfortable to use on mobile, thank you so much for doing this and we hope you continue to do this.

Can you please enable support for backbone.

Not a big mobile game guy outside of the occasional Gacha game, however this was a wonderful change of pace from those. The amount of content and hours we’ve already put in only having the game about a month is crazy. Not to mention Im still unlocking new things with this many hours in. If you want a game that is entertaining and worth the price, this is it.

Do NOT listen to reviews saying that this port is bad. If you are a fan of StS on PC you will not be disappointed by the iPad version. Not perfect, but not even close to as bad as many reviews are making it out to be. We avoided buying this for months because of the numerous bad reviews saying that the iOS port was shoddy and full of issues. Maybe the game was bad early on but its fantastic right now. 20hr in and we are pleasantly surprised at how good the game feels. Yes, sometimes you may accidentally play a card without meaning to, but we’ve only done it when our had was full or when we were moving too quickly. We can see it being a bit tricky on phone but its still been fine for us. If youre playing on an iPad you wont have any issues. Anyways, this is the best $10 you can spend on the mobile card game genre. Look no further.

So complex, so hard. We’ve played so much of this over the past few years, we love it. Once you get around the finnicky UI elements on iOS, its a flawless port.

This is a well known 5/5 game. Tons of replay ability. No micro transactions, legit quality game.
