Much better than the newer editions in terms of game flow and play experience. Only issue is they increasingly try to force you into their new version and make claims about vip status applying to both versions which are ultimately not true or if are true they dont respond to support tickets that it isnt being honored.
Update: SongPop manually linked our accounts together, so Im happy. We give it 5 stars now we loved this game so much that we paid to be SongPop Plus, but this update completely changed it. We can no longer play parties unless we connect to the regular SongPop. This is bad, because we like to do the missions and a lot of them require parties. So we downloaded the regular SongPop even though we didnt want to. It requires us to link the accounts, so we try to do that and it wont let us! There are some serious bugs that are preventing us to link the accounts together. We hope they fix this or we will stop paying for Song Pop Plus starting this next month. We will update our rating once fixed.
This is the best game. We’ve quit playing any other games and this is the only one we play. We like how it is organized. We love the music. We worry that the developers dont realize that people who played since the beginning want to keep playing this version of the game. The new version is out and its not as user-friendly. We hope they will keep this classic version available. We’ve played ever since the game started.
We are a player from when this game started. We have hung in there and we must say. This new improved version has us second guessing. We cant figure out how to play the parties that are required to earn the mission badge. So we would recommend anyone in charge of SongPop classic, to listen to these reviews and give us a version we enjoy. Not one you think we would enjoy. Little kids and teens are not your demographic here. So please give us a better game for the money we are now paying you!
We understood artists deserve money for all the songs in this appI always pay for whole albums in Apple Music and other apps, just to support our beloved artistsBUT.. The ads are super long, too frequent, make us never want to pay for full versioning n. Which we often do with all our apps. It should offer more ad free play to real in people to pay. Also the bands to get advertising by reminding people of their songs, hence more downloads of their song. If it costs a lot to license the songs then we may be wrong but its so much and too long for ads.
Lately our games dont sync up or when Im playing our round against an opponent there is no sound. We dont know why this is happening.
We love SongPop Classic and have played since September 2021. We had the VIP subscription for 5.99 a month, which was fine. Two updates later, Im paying 9.99 a month for Classic VIP renamed as Plus. We dont like the new updates: changing the Classic party mode tab to mostly SongPop 3 challenges, adding a SongPop 3 mission to the daily missions, and raising subscription prices. We dont like SongPop 3; we only downloaded it as required by the first update. Please reconsider offering Classic VIP again at a lower price and restore the Classic party mode tab. Youll make a lot of your loyal subscribers happy by doing so.
We cant get to party mode anymore, making it impossible to get daily achievements. The two apps arent syncing on our phone. In fact, we’ve tried making an account on the latest app several times, and it wont stick. Im prompted for the same info every time we open it. Thanks for ruining a great game.
Have been playing this game since 2013. It used to be wonderful, but the vast majority of changes over the last several years have made this game a lot less fun. Essentially developers appear to be trying every possible means of wringing extra $ out of players. The latest scheme in which you have to download a second app to access certain features of the game is ridiculous & clearly designed to force people to use SP3, which is not remotely the game the Classic version is. We ended our paid subscription in protest & the jury is still out as to whether we stay. Developers need to listen to players – read these comments & discussion on FB, Reddit, etc. – people are livid.
This was such a great game and now theyre ruining it by forcing people to link classic to another songpop game ! People hate the other game while we are now forced to pay 10 dollars double the price. Really a shame played 10 years and now this mess ! So many people are quitting and they refuse to publicly even acknowledge how to help people fix everything that wont even link their accounts. Shame on you songpop !
We have been a loyal and paying customer for over 10 years now. This game used to be great, however the makers are ruining it, it seems as though they have spent too much money on their other game, and arent making enough, so they are forcing users of this game to use a second app to complete their daily missions. Dont get hooked like we am. This is going downhill fast.
We paid for a subscription that they told us would cover both games. It never worked properly, and when we contacted support they said they were too backed up with too many people having the same problem. They sent us to a generic answer page that says the subscription we bought no longer covers both games. There’s no way to contact a human. Thousands and thousands of players are screwed over by this company’s lies, and they refuse to do anything about it. This game should be removed from the appstore.
Apparently yall arent listening to everyones complaint about not being able to play party mode anymore. We went ahead with having to pay the subscription because this is our favorite game. But we wont link this app just to play party mode. Ill be terminating our subscription and possibly deleting this whole app.
Deleted this app. Too many ads. When we have to watch more ads than we get of actual play time its not worth it. Even if the game is free.
Fun game but there is multiple long adds after every single match.
We have been playing Song Pop for years, first the original now classic, we have spent tons of money with playing parties as well as subscriptions and Im talking thousands of dollars over the time frame! We are completely DISGUSTED over this new craziness of linking Song Pop Classic with Song Pop 3, it is BEYOND RIDICULOUS for you to MAKE us link these two apps, we DESPISE SONG POP 3, it is cheesy and nothing like classics so it should be a choice if we want to play that yet now its mandatory, and now if you do not link together we can not play parties which is our favorite thing to do, we have talked to tons of people and 99.9 are LIVID and Im sure you can see the huge drop in subscribers already and its just going to be worse, we find it HORRIBLE that you are going to mess with your loyal subscribers in such a way!!! We have written to your support which is a complete joke with no solution whoever Im emailing with just tells us the most ridiculous statements and totally ignores what we are saying or that they need to get someone else to respond its so shady that all this change happened win the middle of a party whoch we won yet couldnt even get the prize for! With no warning they just did it! The developers are dishonest and take peoples money without their consent and on top of that they change the rules and gameplay without warning and refuse to issue refunds. Avoid and dont install or fall for their scams. This used to be a good game, its now a money grabbing rip off.
We rarely write reviews but we are so incensed about the new updates. We have played this game for years and recently stopped paying because of all the crap they put you through to play. We cant link accounts to the new game and even if we could we refuse to play two games to get credit for one! All they care about is money and not what the players think or want. We’ve slowly been trying to ween myself off playing, as we loved this game but alas they have ruined it for us and many others. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS GAME!!
Not that long ago we would have given this app 5 stars. We will not download another app in order to play this one. So we guess no party mode for us anymore.
We have played SongPop for almost 7 years, playing every single day. What has happened lately with having to link accounts and changing how SongPop Classic works has led us to delete the apps. Another example of fixing something that was not broken.
We have been a faithful player for more than 10 years. We do not, repeat want to install another app on our phone just to play Party mode. May have to give up the friends we have found while playing on here.
Such a fun music game if u love music like we do give this game a try u do have to pay to be able to play whatever playlist you want but its soooo worth it and the prices arent bad at all we’ve been playing for 6yrs and we never get tired of it.
We have been playing this game for yours; Im a plus subscriber and we cant tell you upset we are since the new changes. Why do we have to open a new app when we didnt ask for this change. Why are you forcing us to download your new app and if we cant parties?! No more parties means some daily missions wont be completed. Im sorry but we WILL NOT download it. Your game is our most favorite; its the #1 game in our games folder on our phone but we will cancel our Plus subscription if you dont restore classic back to the game we love. Youre ruining your game by being greedy! Instead of gaining money, youre gonna be a losing a lot of money if you dont restore, classic song clock immediately. You certainly wont be getting our money anymore. You have one week to change things or Im deleting our membership.
We really enjoy this game and we play it nearly every day. We wish we didnt have to install the other SongPop app just to access the party feature because we cant even link our accounts. Im hoping to receive feedback from the app developers with help on this.
Instead of Party Mode button, now its a link to the other game. How can we play Party?
Fix your commercials in the missions, wont let you tap to get in to play even when you refresh the same ones wont let you play.
When we installed this there is now something called special where the party mode used to be and there isnt anywhere to click to get into the party. Kind of hard to complete a mission when you cant get there.
Its a decent game but here are our critiques 1. Missions- Why are some of the missions behind the VIP paywall. Why show us the mission if we get no reward for completing . 2. Matchmaking- Can we get music compatibility matchmaking or genre based matchmaking. Im tired of challenging or getting challenged by someone and praying we have the same taste in music. 3. Game Modes- The new game modes you added essentially told us all to download Songpop 3. We feel like bring Tuneology, Live Matches, Tournaments game modes to Songpop Classic is better. In SongPop 3 everything is behind a level wall. You have to grind or pay to interact with other players. 4. This isnt really a critique but how about a co-op mode similar to the mode you have in Songpop Party. Where we can team up and play with our friends against other opponents.
We love playing this game and have been playing for years. Im not happy with the new update. We dont have or like the other app it wants you to link with this game for the special whatever. This new special mode has taken the spot where you can access the party mode which it makes playing 1000 rounds this month more difficult. We lost 15 minutes of unlimited party tickets because we couldnt access party mode to use them. We hope this gets fixed ASAP & we hope we can get those back.
We really love this game but cannot understand why we have to pay $10 a MONTH for VIP. Thats insane. Also, within the last 12 hours, our game no longer provides the party option.. That area is now labeled special and takes you to ANOTHER songpop app that must be downloaded and a new account created. Our daily bonus this morning was one hour of infinite party tickets that we cannot even use because we no longer have party mode. Very disappointed.
We have been play song pop for a very long time, at least 11 years. We love song pop. And we have been very patient with all the changes and all the price increases but now you take away party mode and make us download a separate app. WTH. We are canceling our subscription and Im sure we wont be playing song pop much longer. The owners have shown just how GREEDY they are. Good luck.
Why are you making us play a totally different game to achieve our mission in the game we pay for? You are going to lose all of your paying customers over this crap! You could at least have explained how to do what is needed before a long holiday weekend with no customer support! This is ridiculous!
Used to be a fun trivia gamenow just junk and junk and more junk to keep you working! On tasks. AND THE TASKS NOW FORCE YOU TO PLAY OTHER GAMES TO RECEIVE CREDITLET ME SAY THAT AGAIN! The update now forces you to download SongPop 3 in order to play parties. We dont want to be forced to download any app that we wont play just so the developers can show how many people have downloaded their app to make even more money.
The latest update to push you to link SongPop Classic to SongPop is a disaster. Since the update now has a Special category where the Party icon was is useless. We cant access parties anymore or the free daily tickets. We tried to join the new SongPop, but it wont link our account. We tried to put in a ticket and it kept rejecting our log in information that we have never changed. Im going to end up deleting everything. We dont need to pay the monthly subscription for this. Its a hassle.
SongPop used to be our favorite app, but they have recently ruined the entire experience by taking away party mode and introducing another buggy app we cant even get our account linked to. We will not be playing on the new app, and will probably end our membership altogether. After over a decade of playing this game nightly, we will be finding something else. Very disappointed!
Constantly making changes, raising the prices. Trying to make you download other games to continue playing current game. They make it where you are FORCED to download their other atrocious game, in order to make challenges. The game often crashes during play.
Now Im needing to download & link another game to complete challenges & it refuses to link.
New updates makes you link accounts. Not doing this. You should have left a fantastic game alone! Not playing any longer.
We can no longer play parties but they are part of our missions. The old Parties tab is replaced by this Specials tab which forces you to download another SongPop app and link the 2 accounts together but ours won’t link. Horrible update.
We downloaded the free app, linked both Classic and the new app through our Facebook account and we still have no parties. Thinking of ending our subscription after 7 years as all these changes are frustrating.
Since the update yesterday, the party tab is gone, cant play parties anymore. They are trying to make you link to the new crappy song pop game that nobody likes!! Im done with this game.
Im a paying subscriber and have been for years, but now they are forcing you to subscribe to their other app to use half of the available functions on this app. Seems like that should be illegal.
We have been playing this game for years. All of a sudden they are asking us to download another of their games and sync it and we have to leave the game to go play a different game. You are going to lose a lot of money if this is not changed back. Its called Classic for a reason!!! PLEASE leave it alone and change it back!
Been playing this game since it first came out!!! Paid for the subscription a few years ago so we didnt have to deal with the ads. Then paid for this recent plus to get 5 tickets daily etcthen all of a sudden a few days ago the party mode disappeared and they put in place this special icon which wants you to link to Song Pop 3!!! We dont like Song Pop 3I like the classic song pop!! We didnt pay for song pop plus to be forced to play song pop 3!!! So now we cant play any part mode challengeswhich this month is 1000 games in party mode and we got 400 which now we cant even get into!!! Its a disgrace!! We will not be renewing our subscription tomorrow and will be deleting the game that we have loved playing for YEARS!!!

You have to search multiple genres just to find the specific song that is noted on the daily challenge. Then if youre fortunate enough to find it, it could take a hundred rounds just for it to come up. Last year we would have given this app a 5, now its a 2. Please change the daily challenge back!
The ads are excessive. We could tolerate them except some ads have a lot of glitches. We often have to leave the game and restart.

The ads are horrible. You cant close the ads, and if you can , it takes four or five taps of the x to actually do it. Sure, you can pay for no ads, but that price has doubled in the past year.
