A Glimpse into Spyragon

The controls are simple:

  • Turn Controls: Touch the inner-side of a hexagon, and turn it in the direction you want to rotate (like a wheel).
(One-Touch Controls also available in Settings)

Three game modes provide endless fun:

Classic Mode:
In maximum 2 moves, match at least 3 shapes of equal color.
Stars: Match 4+ shapes of equal color to create a Star.
Paths: Matching 4+ shapes also creates a color path on the hexagon sides where the match happened.
Full Hexagons: When a hexagon’s sides are all the same color, a Full Hexagon is created and the entire board is cleared.
Combos: When all of a hexagon’s shapes are matched, a Combo piece is created using the colors of those matches.
Builder: When a large match is possible with 2+ moves, use the Builder tool to append matches together. The first move MUST create a Match. Every additional move must increase one of the following, without decreasing any of the others:

  • Total matched shapes
  • Total Star points created
  • Total Combo colors created
Score: Create Stars, Combos, and Full Hexagons to grow your score faster.
Levels: Match as many shapes as possible to Level Up faster.
Swaps: Use Swaps to change the color of a selected Circle on the board to a different color. Leveling Up generates more Swaps.
The game is over when no moves exist.

Speed Mode:
Same rules as Classic, but match as much as possible before the Timer reaches zero. Also no Builder/Swaps/Levels to keep things simple and quick.
In maximum 2 moves, match at least 3 shapes of equal color.
Time Coins: Time Coins add seconds to the timer. Time Coin values start at 3, decrease to 2 after 30 seconds, and then decrease to 1 after another 30 seconds. Also, Time Coins are inserted after every match when their value is 3 or 2. However, when the Time Coin value reaches 1, they are inserted with decreasing probability as the game progresses.
Score: Create Stars, Combos, and Full Hexagons to grow your score faster.
The game is over when the Timer reaches zero, or when no moves exist.

Fusion Mode:
Same rules as Classic, but now you get to choose where new colors go.
Placements: There are 4 Color Pairs around the Board that can be placed in the board where they fit at any time.
Toggles: Tapping on Color Pairs toggles their formation. Toggle Color Pairs so they fit in preferred spots.
Match at least 3 shapes of equal color via Rotations and/or Placements.
Each rotation generates a new Color Pair. When all 4 Color Pair spots are filled, Rotations are blocked and a Placement must be made.
Score: Create Stars, Combos, and Full Hexagons to grow your score faster.
The game is over when no moves exist.

User Reviews on Spyragon

Looking for more information? Read a comprehensive review of Spyragon below:

No clue what the problem is with all the reviews complaining about the controls. Theyre explained when you load and they work just fine. This is a great concept for a game. But it doesnt go anywhere. Once you internalize the handful of patterns to ensure you can always make a match the game never gets any harder. Because the replacement pips are random both getting a big combo or ending up game over is not something you actually control. In classic you build up helps where you can change a pip to a random color, and you can have a hundred of them saved up, and still end up game over because you never get a chance to use one once the random new pips are in and you have no solutions. Kind of silly. The speed level isnt even all that different, we’ve currently got over a minute and a half of banked time to ensure we can make a match before game over and it never takes more than fifteen seconds to find one. This game will go on forever. Fusion would be fun but the directionality of the new pieces is just as random as the color so you cant really have a strategy for keeping the board clear. There are levels but they dont mean anything. You get a score but it doesnt mean anything. Great basis for a game, but it now needs some game theory applied to make it something you play for more than a week.

We would have given It a 5- its a fun game, makes you think. But the controls are awful. Half the time we are yelling THATS NOT THE WAY we CLICKED! Please fix the controls.

We’ve swiped the same place twice and watched it turn differently each time. It will Jack the entire game up.

Very frustrating. We finally gave up and deleted it.
