This games is very similar to slay, one of our favorite games.
We wish there was more maps add from time to time.
This game has been stabilized and no random popups in the middle of the game play. It is better than slayer.
We had to play 4 or 5 games before we could figure out how to play. After that the game was actually quite interesting and addictive, but we agree it needs a better tutorial.
Pretty good but it is easy we wish we could change the difficulty.
Can some one please tell us how to move the troops? The game looks fun though.
We gave this game a 5 star rating a few years ago but for some reason the whole game just stopped working. No matter what you click on it doesnt work but maybe once every 300 touches. If that was fixed it would be back to the great game it used to be.
We cant place the units we recruit and theres no way to figure it out 0 stars.
So, can't give something a good rating if you can't even play it. We don't think it's a bug but it doesn't tell you how to place your guys on the map or how to do much at all. We just opened the game and spent 10 minutes trying to find out where the guy we recruited is.
It doesn't let you recruit or do anything we just click next move till an add pops up, we hope it's just a bug otherwise it's a waste of an app.
This game used to be great. Had it on our ipod years ago for a lot of fun. But they added constant and endless ads, while you are playing, not even just when you finish a game. Completely ruined.
The game doesn't have a whole lot of substance, only 3 unit types, but none of that matters since you can't even recruit any of them, or do anything of any kind. Biggest waste of our time, if you're looking for a game that at least works, then you've found the wrong game.
We never write reviews because it's a waste of time but this game crap. You literally can't do anything. The tutorial tells you nothing and you can't even place or recruit a soldier. Absolute junk.

It's fixed and it seems no one re-rated it. It's a really fun game.
We're one of the top players. Used to play all the time. Graphics not updated to fit iPhone 6's larger screen make it less enjoyable but the real killer are the ads. Terrible placement and the fact they pop up randomly mid game / mid play means they make the game lock up (if you were mid piece selection) or just get in the way or cause you to click on something you didn't mean to click on. Such a shame was a good game at one time. If they moved the ads to happen after a round or something less obtrusive they might be able to salvage it.
We paid money for this game, what's with the ads.
This used to be a great game. Horrible Ad placement in the App makes this game a very sad reflection on what it used to be.
Ads randomly start up and lock up the game. One of our favorite games has become unplayable. We actually payed $15 for this game (or one exactly like it) for PC in the late 1990s. We would pay a couple of bucks to have an ad-free version on our smartphone.
The game's tower placement effects play in a way that is obvious upon examination but not explained directly in any tutorial. They effect all hexes around the tower so if you group your pieces in an area with an open opponents hex and they drop a tower your going to have a bunch of headstones and not know why. It's a good game and rates a solid three (good execution, old concept, not very inventive). Fun way to kill a half hour then you want to put it down, but you always want another 30 minutes eventually. Worth the price of admission. Update: 10/8/15 The game is awful since the update with the ads. We'll pay a reasonable price for an ad free version but the current version has been deleted from our iPhone and iPad. They are horrible.
What used to be a great game is now ruined by 1) advertisements 2) regular crashes What happened.
Used to be a good game. They killed it with advertisements there's other games that deliver same play style with no crap. We switched to those.
Horrible game crashes every other game and we cannot get past level 16 because the second we click on 16 it crashes… If they fixed it it would a game worth paying for.
Terrible game now. Utterly useless. We understand the need for adverts, but in this case the adverts cause the game to crash or not work quite right. This used to be a decent game – a game you could play if you needed a little mindless fun. We're deleting it.
Good design and concept. However it either frequently and randomly flashes full screen ads or more usually completely crashes every 30 seconds or so. We have tried restarting our iPad, deleting and reinstalling the app, and closing out and restarting the game all to no effect. We recommend this game only if you have extreme levels of patience or this bug is fixed.

Fun game, play often. Ads more often than not screw something up and force you to reload the game. Might just be our old iOS though.
The latest update is messing up the game with pop-up ads that are interfering with the game operation. Too bad.
Before we start, we should mention that problems does not mean bugs or malfunctions, rather it means that they are possibly improvements for the game developers. However, this game has had a total of one update since its release, so we doubt they will take our word into consideration anyways. 1. The graphics: we know one other review of this game said that the graphics are cheesy. After playing, that person nailed it on the head; it is unquestionably cheesy. We know that some dont care about the overall graphics of a particular game but we think it improves the gameplay experience 2: Gameplay 2.1: Campaign Mode: This mode of gameplay allows you to verse the computer and does not require an internet access. There are a lot of levels. Unfortunately, once you understand how to play, the computer, even at its most superior strength, can be easily beaten without much practice. So, the only logical thing to do is to play online 2.2: Online Mode: This mode requires an Internet access, where you search for opponents and play against them. However, this mode is also ruined. This is because online players make a fortress of kings around the perimeter of their controlled land. This forces a stalemate since it is impossible to destroy kings. All in all, the game lures you into believing it will excerise your brain but in reality, it barely does any of that( At least, that is what we thought when we got the game). Improvement Ideas: 1.Make it possible to destroy kings. Maybe make a spy that can destroy any troop but if it found, it gets destroyed or possibly limit the number of kings a player can control 2. Make the AI for the computers better so that the game is somewhat enjoyable to play 3. Fix cheesy graphics Lastly, we gave it a three because it hooked us in at first but over time, the game got boring since there is nothing to do.
This used to be a fun game. The update to 1.1 did nothing but add a full screen Amazon pop up add. This add pops up every 2 or 3 turns. The game is unplayable. We wish we could downgrade it.
We liked the game prior to the last update. We paid to get this game ad free, now they are running non-stop, annoying ads. Delete this game.
We paid for this game. It's OK at best. Pretty cheesy graphics, terrible sounds (have to mute it). The developer never bothered to update or improve the game at all for more than 2 years. All of a sudden, there is version 1.1, with the only change is annoying non-stop ads popping up in the middle of the game. The same ad over and over again. This company is the epitome of all that can be wrong with a developer: Inferior apps that they leave as orphans, ripping off paid customers, no attempt at quality, and a money-grubbing mentality. Avoid anything by this developer. Apple should ban them from the store.
Our paid version used to be advertisement free. Latest update has ads and no new content. Have to use airplane mode now. Contacted company and they basically said deal with it… Only nicer.
Please refund our money. It was a paid app to not have ads. We are truly disappointed the new update has no new content and just the addition of ads that pop up and fill the screen mid game. Really annoying.

We have the same problem as the other reviewer. Our game now has ads since the update AND the play screen has shrunk from the original size. The game used to have a nice resolution on our iPhone 6 but now it is squashed and grainy. This used to be a really fun game but we won't be playing it again until the next update comes out to fix these issues.
Used to be our go to game to kill time. Ever since they put in the ads the game has been ruined. The ad placement is terrible, they often cause the game to crash, and the game just crashes all the time now. We really miss this game, but we're done.
We remember getting a game similar to this on a disk for our PC a few years ago. We liked it and bought the full version. We are glad that it is in this format now. We love it.
It's a good game. We played it several times over and still playing. Ai at expert is not hard enough.
Only thing we have to say about it is they need new maps.
We have played his game on and off for months now but we could not put it down until we beat each board. Once through we then tried to lower our turn count and that added another level of depth. With two main difficulty levels, each needing its own strategy, there is a lot to learn an play here. We highly recommend.

It's a lot of fun, but the directions should really be a little more clear.
Fun game, decent amount of strategy. Fairly forgiving on the first few levels while you figure things out. Remember that sometimes it is to your advantage not to join hexes.

This game isn't anything like risk or battleship. It's a seriously addicting strategy game. We do agree that there needs to be an in depth tutorial as a lot isn't covered. If you like strategy games you will love this app.
This game is fantastic! It takes the element of strategy and brings it to a whole new level. Every level is different and every time you play that same level it is different. We have enjoyed hours playing this game and we still love to play it. Definitely a classic that will be enjoyed for life.
Hard at fast because of the control but it gets easy once you get used to it.
Actual strategy! Not just accomplishment porn.
While it does take a bit to get used to the symbols and rules, it quickly becomes an addicting game as you strive to win more and more. Overall very good game.
