Critical Acclaim

  • “Through a combination of a choose-your-own-adventure-style visual novel and a Paradox-esque game, you have to pull the young republic out of a terrible recession while dealing with entrenched, corrupt political factions and a looming border conflict.” – PC Gamer

  • “The press will lie. Parliament will ask you to sign bills with misleading titles. The people will inspire a song called "My Electorate Are Stupid Pigs". Your principles may be your strongest weapon or your downfall. This is politics. This is Suzerain.” – Rock Paper Shotgun

We’ve played a story twice so far and have failed both times. Its a very good strategy game and your actions have consequences.

Its a fun game, but if can be frustrating if you dont know what youre doing.

We know that im cheep and we are aware of the thousands of words same one had to write but the game would be better if it would be free. But great game so 5 stars.

The opening 30 mins is a little slow but it is incredible. You can feel the personalities of the characters in their designs and dialogue. You have several choices and have to weigh your options carefully. Before we knew who was behind the shooting our mind was racing with possibilities of who it might be. The great prelude gives context and establishes a great connection to the characters. We have only played the demo but it was an amazing 1.5 hours.

Great game, only wished you could continue in a second term. A longer story would also be a nice add to the game. Highly recommend for any political Fans out there!

It is a very good game but we need more language we need Chinese China is a really big country and have lots of people and those people like to play game . This game is very popular in China but it is not have Chinese so that players are losing.

Started playing this game, instantly got addicted. This is one of those games with multiple endings, and it genuinely takes some skill to play. You wont be disappointed with this game, if you love history and story mode games like The Walking Dead or Detroit Become Human, this is a perfect download for you. The fact its even on mobile is crazy.

This game is a legendary game, we just beat it for the first time but sadly we were impeached and sentenced to life in prison, but we can tell the game can have many outcomes, so that is why Im going to continue playing with different outcomes and stories, this game is deserved of the 5 star rating we have have, the new one if there will be one it will be a great game even better then this one, keep putting out games like this it would be creativity and dreams of all the players and there real lifes if they decide.

Definitely the best mobile game we have ever played.

Suzerain is definitely our favorite political game. The storytelling is amazing, the characters and their backgrounds are amazing. NINE DIFFERENT ENDINGS. That is impressive. If we will be honest, in our first try we did not win the re-election, but in our second run, we were able to be victorious. This game has wonderful gameplay mechanics and we highly recommend it. You do have to pay $4 for it, but it is definitely worth it. A one time purchase that lasts forever. The customization of Mr. President Anton Rayne, making promises, signing and vetoing bills, making and defining relationships. The plot twists are awesome, rest assured, there are no spoilers in this. We absolutely cannot wait for 2.0 to release and we are excited for the new DLC based on a King in a kingdom in Merkopa. We have extremely high hopes and expectations for the 2.0 Amendment update and the DLC, we know for sure that they will be even bigger and better. It genuinely makes us feel like we are the president of a country and we cant wait to see where President Anton Rayne goes in the new update, we hope it will begin right after where you end at Chapter 4. The only con of this game is that you cannot make saves, so youll have to be careful with making your decisions Luckily, this new update will fix that. A Morgna Wes Core!! Vectern sis da!!

We’ve played this game over and over and over again.

We wish we could play our second term but other than that great game love it.

Theres one way to win and youd have to be a loser to get it.

You can tell this this trial version is a rushed port to mobile since the buttons are too small to press and you dont really see what the consequences are of your actions in the small amount of time in the trial.

Its not a free game. Its a trial that gives about 30 minutes of story before cutting you off before you know any consequences of the decisions you made in that first 30 minutes. We first thought the full game version was just some features that were locked like other apps do, but instead its just the entire game. Was a decent intro and seems like it would be enjoyable, but we were sold on it being a free game with some features locked. Not it being $3.99 game Games like these should just market themselves as the actual price for the game rather than lying as saying its free. Its a slap in the face every time we get hit with something like this. Feels like all we’ve been used for is just add to the download number for the app to use as promotions or bump up in the App Store once we see that pop up come up. Its disrespectful to the customer to do this.

This game. We are here to tell you, it is not without faults and can certainly be improved, but if the concept of playing Game of Thrones in the pseudo-equivalent of running an Eastern European state during the cold war sounds interesting to youthen look no further. Our only complaint is that we wish the community was bigger for it online, but thats not the developers fault at all. We would put this up there as one of the best RPG games we have played in the last 2/3 years with no limitations on the console. Would HIGHLY recommend if this is your niche.

We love this game so much! We played it when it came out on PC and once again now with mobile. We think its time for an expansion pack or a new story. Its a mighty fun time, so we want more of it!

This game is something else. We downloaded it not really expecting much, but we were pleasantly surprised. This is a REALLY good game. We wont spoil anything, but there are only a few ways to succeed and a thousand ways to fail, so you really have to think ahead. This game is more like chess than anything else. Another great thing about this game is the writing. Whoever wrote the script is very talented. Thanks for the experience, this was very well worth the $3.99.

Not much to it. This game is amazing but not having a save makes the game way too punishing for its own good, and is pretty much the only reason we cant rate this a 5.

Love the game. Hope that a second game comes out in the future or that you add an option to play through a second elected term.

We have played through this game several times. Each time we tried different paths and the choices made each game feel new and eliciting. Games like this where you really have to think and consider your decisions that are also fun are rare. This game is definitely worth the small price to pay for it. Going forward it would be great to see an expansion pack that allowed you to go through your second term or play another country in the area and experience the same years from their perspective. Very well done!

This game is beautiful. A flawless port. Looks like it was even designed for mobile in the first place. Could use some optimization features, but that is able to be overlooked. Beautiful story, with turns and decisions everywhere. One of the best games we have ever played!

We’ve never played a game like this its pretty fun despite having to read a lot, which is never a bad thing. The funnest part is the decisions you need to make in every situation, its like watching a movie while reading. Maybe books should be written like this for now on lol.

As we rot away in our prison cell as the first impeached president in Sordlands history, we cant help but wonder where it all went wrong? Everything we did was for our brothers and sisters of Sordland. We think back to the cold, rainy evening we came home after a long day signing execution orders for our political rivals. Our wife, Monica, sitting at the kitchen table in the dark. We remember seeing a half empty bottle of wine and a legal portfolio on the table in front of her. She was still sore about us holding her back from the Womens Rights Movement. Would she ever learn her place? Ill never forget the way she said we want a divorce. The words cut through our heart like a dagger of ice. After all we had been through? Two children and over 20 years together. And it was over like that. Anton Rayne: Father, Son, Presidentex-husband? How could she do this to us? A sudden thought popped into our mind. Oh how cruel God is. But also how humorous he is. We think back to what the Archpriest of Deyr said publically while we were campaigning for re-election. God bless the Raynes down in Anrica. 10/10 game.

Its worth purchasing the full version, also, in our opinion this game is a true gem! The strategic play value makes each choice feel like you leave a true impact of some sort.

Incredible game with multiple storylines. Our only criticism is we wish there was more content.

Played this over our christmas vacation, spent many hours playing. Story is good and everything flows nicely, policy changes have strong impacts – just wish it went on longer! We’ve played thru a few times now.

Suzerain is the most enjoyable, thought-provoking, challenging and rewarding iOS game we’ve ever played. Being thrust into a near-chaotic countrys economic nightmares, surrounded by supposed ally and enemy countries alike, and being uncertain even if your Chief Strategist or VP is scheming against you while they offer advice you really need to win, collectively creates a game that offers no clear win strategy but offers players the opportunity to choose multiple political pathway(s) that can veer over time. We played up to a certain point in our first game, hated some of our decisions, and did a re-start to get our ducks lined up. We ended up winning a second term, going a Centrist route per the end of game analysis. Suzerain does an amazing job providing a panoply of AI characters, interactions and decisions that can make or break you, literally – youll face bribe opportunities in the face of chaos, friends that turn against you and enemies that suddenly want to make a deal. Its all so gray-area that you may THINK (or feel) youve done the right thing, only to have it backfire. We did the best we could to keep promises, but some turned upside down, and we had to back out of (or slip around) a few things we shouldnt have done early in our presidency. Anyhow – the intent isnt to give anything away. This is an AMAZING game that we will now play over and over, trying new strategies, imagining new leaders (good and bad) to run the country. A big 5 stars, and then some, from us.

Love the game play and how its set up even though theres a lot of reading. It has its ways of keeping you intrigued to the story other than that 10/10.

Really enjoyed playing the game so far. Got to the point where you have to buy the game to continue. Since we were hooked, we wanted to buy it but it seems that we cant. Hope that can get resolved soon.

Just wish it wasnt painful so very very painful to start a new game.

We’ve spent nights staying up until 5 am playing this game over our Christmas break. Its wonderful. The story is engaging, the policies and strategy is challenging and fun, and the overall experience is highly enjoyable. That being said, overall there is a strong narrative that is set. The game is fairly linear. While your actions and choice do effect the story line, certain story elements are set in stone. This limits your ability to make broader choices, focus on threats when you when want to, and forces you into some unnecessary risk. Other then that, its wonderful.

We have been enjoying this time killer the past few days, after developing the nation successfully (in whichever way you desire, be it fascist, communist, or somewhere in the middle) the replay value really drops off. It is a short game but absolutely packed with engaging content and several different paths to choose. Only complaints we have are that its too short and the map is quite small, after winning a second term we were extremely eager to continue developing, only to learn that you will only ever play 1 term. Regardless we enjoyed it despite having to rush through lots of text for every play-through after the first. 4 bucks is cheap, if you are political or if you enjoy paradox games and similar genres, try this out.

We absolutely loved this game, great dialogue, story and just incredible execution in general. Really really good game, however we do wish that we could continue playing after the second election, we were so very excited for that, but apart from that, incredible game. Is there a chance that the game is updated at some point and we can continue playing the second or even third or fourth term as president?

While yes this is a good game, we feel that its potential is yet to be reached. As others have noted, the games ending reeks of Well we guess well end it here. Some storylines and choices dont seem to be fleshed out or are not completed as the game ends after 1 term. A second term would be fantastic. As well as refinement to the storylines to get rid of many fluff storylines. We hope the developer(s) continue to improve and hopefully add to the game. Theres still promise here in investing into it.

We’ve played through this game 3 times so far. It has a ton of potential. It is worth trying but it is definitely lacking in some areas. * No save option Similar games have a way to save (usually a limited number of saves), so you can go back and make a different choice at a key point in the story. This is extremely necessary, otherwise a player is forced to to play all the way through the game again, which makes the game feel monotonous, which causes disinterest. *English/script issues It becomes apparent that theres a slight language barrier in the script. Its a bit off-putting. The wording of a lot of the dialogue is just not accurate. The developers need people who are native English speakers to edit the script so it reflects an accurate delivery of what the characters are trying to say. *Sub-plot dead ends Many of the decisions made end up having no follow-through in the story. The end of the game comes before the players finds out what came of certain interactions. This leaves an empty feeling at the end, which cant be what the devs want players to have when finishing the game. *Story/game ends abruptly This is the most frustrating aspect of the game. No matter what choices are made, the game ends before the plot is able to be fully fleshed out. The narrative at the end smacks of we didnt finish making this game so this is the best we could do. Whether it comes as an app update or a sequel, the game needs to be continued past the artificial ending that is currently in place.

We love this game but we wish you could play it for free every 12 or atleast 6 hours or even making it free for playin more people would play it we love this game but we hope we could play it more.

Unfortunately, the game crashes after loading for a few seconds when we press new game. We have an iPhone 6+ with iOS 12.5.6, which the App Store claims is compatible.

This is not the full game. Even if you do decide to waste your money, the game is skewed to purposely force unethical decisions. The developers desperately want you to believe the idea that politicians have no choice but to be skeezy and immoralfor the good of the country.

We have a problem, we buy the game and after two or three days the game said that we are not buying this game, what can we do.

We were looking forward to trying this and finally its on mobile. It has great reviews on Steam, and plays great on mobile as well. Thanks for bringing this to iOS!

We loved playing this game on our laptop a year or so ago. We were hoping they would make it for iOS and now they have, and Im happy with how it turned out. As someone who studied political history during the breakup of the Former Soviet Republic of Yugoslavia this game plays similarly into the balancing of Ethnic/Religious, Economic, and Foreign Affairs while dealing with an internal regime change.

We love Suzerain. It works 95% on mobile. We think 1-2 things didnt covert over. To the Torpor Games teamyou have the formula. Now replicate it. Pick a year, pick a country, let the player be the next Anton Rayne and rake in the cash. The DLC is begging for you!

Could you please realse an update in which the game never endes and we could choose another characters when the time of anton comes? Its letteraly best game we’ve ever played in this genure.

We cant believe we love a game that ended with us being hauled off to prison in front of our family but this game was amazing. Incredible writing and world building. On our second playthrough and really going to try to save Sordland this time!

Played on the PC quite a bit, just shy of 200 hours. The game has a robust and interesting set of characters, along with dozens and dozens of endings. If you like history, politics (and theory), and choose your own adventures, this is the ultimate combination. 5/5, must play.
