What Makes Taboo Stand Out

Taboo is the ultimate brain-teasing, word-twisting adult party game. Play with video chat and throw a house party on your phone! Split into two teams and take it in turns to describe the words on the cards. Your team has to guess as many as possible before the timer runs out.
If you use a taboo word by mistake, the other team will buzz and you’ll lose a point.

HOW TO PLAY TABOO:
- Start a game and invite your friends.
- Split into two teams and name your team.
- The app chooses a Clue-giver for each team. Each team then takes their turn!
- The Clue-giver draws a card. The Clue-giver must describe the word without saying any of the words on the card.
- Team B will buzz if the Clue-giver says a taboo word!
- Your team must guess as many words as possible before the time runs out.

Community Insight:
For younger players in our family, we want the ability to add more time to their timer, but cant. Also, in the hard copy non-digital non-app version of Taboo, to disincentivize too much skipping, we like to deduct a point for every skip, but cant do that in the app. Ill update our rating to 5 stars once more game play options are added for house rules customization.
Cant play video chat version, its not working.
We think the app is great but having the option to choose your deck before you play really narrows the field for guessing. There should be an update letting us mix the decks. Also, why limit the rounds to 20? We should play as many rounds as we see fit. Please fix these minor issues. Thanks.
We love the original card game version of Taboo, but for convenience, our family and we played the app version of Taboo on Thanksgiving day. It was fun, but the programmers clearly did not implement a way for recently played cards to be remembered by the app. We played three separate games, and got multiple repeats of cards during those three games. Considering how that Taboo has a ridiculously large number of words to choose from, the fact that repeats showed up so quickly was extremely odd. Fix that, and the electronic version will be quite good. Still, worth the money spent.
Love it but we wish there was an option to tell the app how many people are on a team so the number of rounds is accurate. Maybe there is and we just missed it.
Excuse the semantics, but we are excited for this game and its future on mobile, but we love the game! We have so much fun with family and friends! Our one desire would be a stats/history section that would allow us to see the previous games Ive played with team names and scores; not even necessarily the cards each rounds (although thatd be nice too) but the results of each game in the past. If any developers see this, maybe theyll consider informing the higher ups of this change. We love the game and thank you.
Not very many words come with the initial purchase which felt like a bait and switch.
Its a fun game but the app store says it has 2000+ cards but only comes with 100 after paying for the app, we played 2 rounds and all the cards where already repeating.
We just wish that gave each player longer than a minute.
This game is a lot of fun, but we think there could be more variety in the base deck. When you play a couple rounds in a row it starts to repeat some of the cards. Still, definitely recommend.
It's a good app, we love playing it in the car but we hate how it has to be teams, we don't want teams when we're just playing with two other people, other than that it's a good, doesn't lag.
But not enough cards before it forces you to buy more decks to continue playing. They repeat quickly.

Weve lost so many cards from the actual board game. This digital version was genius and right on time.
Taboo is fun because you can play with all your friends and you just have to be a little smart to play! This is why you should get taboo.

Not enough cards in the free version. We understand you want to give us a taste but you really shouldve given us a bigger taste Taboo.
Why not allow more than 2 teams.
App works fine, but missed a critical feature in our opinion. If we mis-clicked a button, or the time ran out before we could input a result, we'd like to be able to manually edit the result for each word before moving on to the other team's turn.
No clue how to add people to groups. Took an amazing amount of effort just to connect with friends.
We were stuck in the rain and needed a fun last time while the storm made its way through. Everyone young and old had a blast. And unlike the classic card game, these words were easy for the youngsters. Its a bonus option that you can expand your deck. It does come at a extra cost, but the topics will have everyone in tears trying to explain it or guess. Cant wait to play this on our next family road trip.
We played about 4 games and then the words just started repeating. Seemed like they were even in the same order. All the words in the English language and this game only has about 50 of them. We added 2 additional packs, but we think the main pack should have a bigger variety of words.
Our game stopped in the middle of playing to tell us we had to pay. Thats ridiculous.
