The Grading Game Reviews

As an aspiring proofreader and copyeditor, we find this game quite helpful, if a little flawed for our purposes. It IS addictive if you love English and grammar. Enjoy!

You have to be a certain type of person to enjoy finding errors in student papers. We are that kind of person, and we find this game to be totally addictive! It is challenging but also humorous, and there seems to be enough material in the different levels for years of play.

We have run into some unmarked and wrongly marked errors, but it’s a fun little game. After playing it, we find myself paying closer attention to our own writing and grammar. Worth the buy.

It’s a fun, silly game, but actually teaches you something! As a professional writing major in graduate school, it’s a fun way to keep our editing skills sharp! Definitely worth it!

We’re not entirely sure WHY we love it so much, but it’s addictive and oddly relaxing.

This game is a fun challenge for anyone who has ever had to grade papers or who just wants to get better at proof reading.

This game is gradingly bonkers! Failing students instead of passing, this is quite the game for teachers that intentionally are very strict with them on the inside! But on the outside, theyll keep them in line with teach and love. (Calm Before the Storm)

That grading could be so fun!!! Would love some new categories to be added.

We really enjoy this game a lot. We have found myself ignoring every other game we play until we finish our doctorate. However, we’ve noticed how the time has gone back from 30 to 20 sec in the minefield and challenges. We’re a fast reader, but if looking for an excess of mistakes more time is needed. Also, we have noticed that capitalization mistakes are made. In Big Bang, we think, Universe is capitalized in the first three paragraphs and then last three it’s not. There are other capitalization errors within we just can’t recall. And how in the world do you capitalize numbers? Just curious. Take a while to proofread and see what you find that none of your other players such as myself hasn’t found. Final complaint, decide on English or Brit spelling. The word was scepticism. In English it starts with a K. We kept pressing it as misspelled. It is the Brit spelling. That would help out a lot too. Other than that. We love this game. And we will continue to play it addictively despite it’s annoying misgivings. But we trust that you will take the time to address these issues.

This game is quite addictive. More importantly, it provides an advantage over many other edutainment apps: it’s not designed for kids, and goes up to post-doc level. A kid could easily play the lower stages, too, so it offers a challenge for an impressively wide range of abilities and ages. Our one criticism is gameplay can become repetitive. Storifying the content more intensively would help.

Reminds us of when we were little and liked to play school. It would be great to have 35 seconds instead of 30 but still fun!

Fun way to keep your grammar skills sharp.

Love this … And we are a college T. A.! There are some errors that drive us nuts because they seem to be based on British English, AND our sounds no longer work. But we still love it!

We really like this game. However, some of the corrections you are expected to make are ones you wouldn’t know were wrong unless you were familiar with the topic. We think that part is slightly unfair, but overall it’s a fun game. There are a few errors in the Michael Kors story. It says shorty after and took at job at.

Why is there ads after we paid for the ap.

We paid the $.99 and disappointed with the quality. We feel we wasted our $.99. We hope they will make it function better. First of all, it goes from round to round without a way of going back to the menu. Practice does not seem to work. It would be nice if the Practice was not timed to allow familiarization with the game and how it is played and what the different markings mean, like a tutorial. Time limits should be more adjustable. A running total number of errors found should be displayed as well as the time remaining. It needs a HELP page to explain more about the game. Like what happens with the money. The player earns it, but there is a total that goes lower? Dont understand. After a round is over, the score and changes should remain viewable so that you can actually from learn what you missed. We’ve only played for about 10 minutes and these are the problems we encountered in that amount of time.

Enjoy the game but it gets glitchy – the daily challenge doesn’t open and we can no longer open anything in career mode unless we uninstall the app… Thus losing everything.

We really enjoyed this game. No one has responded to our request for help with restoring purchases.

We cannot read fast enough to keep up with the timer. It would be nice if there were a slow reader level.

Good and it bugs you to review it.

Awesome app with lots of content. Only problem we saw was hat there is a slight glitch that freezes your screen on the levels menu. Quick fix is to hit the back button and then click the sticky note but it can get annoying at times.

Having been a teacher’s daughter, substitute teaching, and college, we have graded lots of items. Thank God we never had a time omit to grade things, we would have failed miserably. We recommend this exciting game as it will help you learn what your own writing issues are, and help you improve greatly. IT did for us! Love the updates, keep um coming.

Based on the details and reviews of this word game we have no doubt that we will enjoy the challenges.

Eyes for detail and the ability to speed read while comprehending is worth the time.

We didn’t know what to expect with this game before we purchased it, but we were pleasantly surprised. This is an excellent game.

So far we are loving this! So fun.

Never played a game like this, but we’ve enjoyed it so far. Would defiantly recommend this to anyone.

We can’t stop playing. We guess we’re a pretty good proof reader!

The game is fun and no doubt challenging….

It is a fun app that tests your grammar and keeps you intellectually on your toes.

A game after our own (grammar-loving) heart!

This is the first review we have ever written, and this game definitely deserves it. The concept of the game is genius and entertaining. There are many levels which contain interesting subject matter. You race against the clock trying to find all grammatical errors including spelling, run on sentences, double words, wrong words, capitalization, etc.. We could play this game for hours. It’s gotten to the point where we are proofreading everything we read outside of the game! It’s very entertaining, and a great use of your spare time.

We have found that we’ve learned a lot from this game. Not just grammar, punctuation, capitalization, and spelling wise but also general knowledge. The different topics that are used as the ‘papers’ written by the students are on topics that aren’t necessarily common knowledge.

Very nice and important application, we like it.

We must say that the speed, the challenge and the little bit of humor add up to a real time-waster, which is to say, a great, original game.

Love to play this. Hard to stop. Recommend it!

This game is great for keeping your mind sharp! We have always recommended this game to teachers because it is very educational.

We do this all the time inadvertently anyway so it’s fun to have it be a game.

As the daughter of a high school English teacher, we grew up grading papers, quizzes and assignments for pocket money. This game accurately recreates the joy of grading without the pressure of holding actual students’ fates in your hands. It’s wonderfully addicting and we have shared it with our mom and her colleagues, who love it as well. However, a little bone to pick is the recurring incorrect punctuation with quotation marks. "Punctuation goes inside the single or double quotation marks," the reviewer stated… Please fix this!
