We used to play this (as well as Virtual Families and Virtual Villagers 4) ALL THE TIME on our PC when we were younger. So you could imagine how happy we are to see that its been created into an app for smartphones!!!! We know its less than $2 to download the full version of Virtual Families and Virtual Villagers 4 but we cant bring myself to spend money on a game lol. Im not mad though (sad, but not mad) because we know the programmers and other people behind it have to make their money somehow!
When we were younger we always played this game on our old computer since it was free and fun. Im really happy that the app is still up and that we can still play it. Its just as fun as we remember.
We first found VV on a Big Fish CD when our wife was in the hospital. After playing a few days we were looking for some help and discovered their forums. Back then the games were primarily inexpensive, but highly entertaining, games designed for computer use. When it went mobile we started playing on our old iPad. That tablet died, we bought a new computer, and in general we just quit playing. But we have a brand new iPad Air, and we are looking forward to spending some time with an old friend. Wow this game is simple and easy to operate; we love it. The only thing we wish that they would include is a what am we supposed to do list more of how do we do what Im supposed to do. LOL There are several tests to complete and while they sound simple figuring out how to do it is the challenging part; however, when you think about it, if you were one of the villagers living there it would be complicated to try to figure out how to do some of the task required. So that is why we say it is a great game regardless!
We love this game. This game will always have a special place to us. Our mother loved all of the virtual villagers games. Every single one. She would play on her PC. Every time a new one came out we got it for her. This one was her favorite. She passed away 2 years ago. We did not realize these games were available for mobile until just the other day. We were so excited! We immediately thought of her and how she used to get so excited about her villagers mastering tasks or figuring out a puzzle. Anyway, this game is awesome and Im glad its still available. Please make more!
This game is awesome! We have lots of ideas for games you could make 1: a animal version of this game (you would play as an animal ) like a wolf or a elk with its pack or herd and that there would be a first person mode witch would be more realistic. Also when a animal has a baby its pregnant first then it births out a litter. Please consider our idea we would appreciate if you did :)

Used to play this all the time on pc when we were a kid, just found it on our phone and Im loving it, we cant figure out most of the puzzles but Ill get there! Haha. Awesome game though.
We’ve played this game for years, and we have the most fond memories. To know we can play it on our iPad, makes us so happy. The graphics were much better in our memory, but they are still holding up pretty well for how old this game is. 10/10, one of the best games of our childhood.
All of our villagers over 14 bury dead villagers. It is so annoying, please fix it so only one or more villagers can bury the deceased!
Our only complaint is that they stopped producing them. Seems like even the good die young. Just like Ratchet & Clank.
We LOVED this game on the computer when we were a kid and Im just as obsessed to play it again.
We love this game and VV4. The point of the game is to figure out how to survive. We’ve had to restart twice vv1 and vv4 3 times because all our people died out. But you learn as you play. Now both games are thriving. If you need help there are online tutorials. Explore and make sure to build up tech points you need them to expand and make your tribe better. But mostly have fun.

We used to have this on our computer when we were younger. The only problem was you had to buy the Full version of the game in order to have most of the stuff. Now we can take The game anywhere!
Its a great game its really fun and has a lot of goals / fun puzzles to be excited about. Pro tip- focus on the farming first!!

Like others, played this on our PC all the time. First few times it took us forever, trying to figure out the puzzles. At the time the animation was top notch. Now its more nostalgic.
The original is prob the best VV and we have played them all on the computer. We are glad it’s an apt game.
Then we needed to get more memory – so went to laptop. Not sure if we played on laptop but we remember having to go back & forth to get hints when we got about 3/4 through the game. Now Im stuck on playing on a very small screened cell ( much rather have a bigger screen (!!) . 1st time tried to load game – loaded fine but it wouldnt let us play- so we deleted the app. Just put it back in today ( along with the 2nd, 3rd and we will add the 4th at a later date. Have to say- much more fun with a m u c h larger screen!! Still we like the series. Only 1 issue we see so far- we think its the 2nd or 3rd game in the series- doesnt give a way to exit out the game or put it on pause( so game wont run you out good while you are not playing.
We have been playing this game since it was on PC only. To us it’s such a fun game to play. We’ve played it from start to finish several times. It’s been a few years since we have played it and now it’s available through the app store. That’s even better.
This is probably the best version of the game in our opinion keep it up.
All of the bad reviews here are people confusing a bug with how the game works. The point is to try and keep the villagers alive and help their community grow. Therefore if your food magically restocked and they just figured everything out on their own, it wouldn’t be a game. Towards the beginning, it’ll be really hard to keep them going. But once they have a constant source of food (this doesn’t really happen until you can get them to fish), it’s a pretty low maintenance game.
Really fun (and addicting until your village is advanced enough to be more self-sufficient). We cant think of anything Id want to change.
We loved this game sm we played it all the time on our tablet but it got removed, we dont know why but we loved it sm add it back!!

This game is sooooo much fun and really takes patience.
We love this game. Its simple, but it takes time. Something we are working on is getting all of our villagers to max in all skills so when one doesnt have anything to do we can just send them to do something else without having to put them on the task a few times before they start. It also gives us something to do while waiting for our tech points to pile up. As for the food we like to keep 2-3 of our villagers constantly on farming so we have a constant supply of food. It helps while Im offline because the field keeps producing food.

We read a lot of these reviews and they claim bugs that occur but really its just the players not knowing what to do. Your villagers are starving because youre not getting enough food and the game is not forgiving enough for you to make mistakes. There is no time bug where going from 2500 food to 600 food because this is an RTS that continues playing and will punish you if you dont have it set to 0,1/2,1,2 speed (I however dont recommend setting it to 0 at any time). This game functions perfectly fine for where it originated back in the late 2000s we believe (correct us if Im wrong). There are your none game breaking bugs such as the dropping of food while being picked up to do something else or the fast breeding by repeatedly dropping your people on each other to skip the going inside feature; however, these arent game breaking. This is our first full review we’ve ever written on the AppStore and we have to praise this game because it is a time waster like all games, but it encompasses an RTS and the difficulty that came with older generation games. Virtual villager has its faults as it becomes a relic of the past but people have to appreciate the game for what it is and not complain difficult features as bugs. P.S we finished the game after 400 hours or so. (I set our times differently so Im not sure how long it actually took)
Every so often we remember this game and how simple and fun it is and we download it again. We love this game so much. It can be difficult if you dont know what youre doing, we highly recommend using the wiki page to assist.
Please update the games for the latest phones and dont let them die, theyre our favorite!

This game is a literal icon. Its so fun! We love every aspect of it; mystery, families, stranded-ness, tribe-y, etc. 11/10! Its been one of our favorite games since it came out.
