The best part is flying the jet pack and also because its really hard and challenging and fun.
We bought this game months ago and we go to play it and now we need to make an account to play? Stay away from Game Club or whatever its called.
Game club seems to have just bought a bunch of abandoned great games from developers to push a subscription based service. No additional content, the updates are just to make it seem like they are doing something and to clear out negative reviews. At least the pre sellout version still works!

Waking Mars is a unique and brilliant game that gives you the true feeling of exploring Mars. Also contains a deep strategic game for which there is no equal.
Phenomenal game. Even all these years later. Wondering if anyone knows what the total biomass available is? We achieved a 33,805 total biomass and a core power 72, which we believe is max for core power. Anyone know what the maximum would be for biomass?

We used to LOVE this game! We played it on our ipad all the time! The gameplay is incredible, love the sound design this game is perfect Or, WAS perfect. Once Gameclub got this game, they make you pay a subscription to play it. We just tried downloading it on our iphone and we WASTED a bunch of our cellular data to download a game that we did not recognize at all. They make you log in or get a subscription just to start the game! What they SHOULD have done (and we would be fine with this) is allow you to play the game for free, no subscription or trial, but have ads whenever you enter another chamber. But no, they make you have a subscription. We are not about to pay $5 a month just to play our favorite mobile game ever. Im just glad we managed to get 100% on our game before Gameclub got hold of it. And no, we do not want to get any of the free mobile games. Most of them are scams/shameless repeats and the rest are just moronic. This was one of the few games that was actually good on ios, now it is just ruined. Thanks SO much, Gameclub. We would rate this 0 stars if we could.
Because of game club you have to pay a subscription to play it and in our opinion having to pay a subscription just to play a game is already a terrible idea but also, they pretty much waste your time if you arent willing to pay because there is no obvious warning that you will have to be part of game club and even once you download it, it only tells you that after the opening cut scene if they wanted to make people pay to play it, they either shouldve just made a paid game or at least put a warning so people who arent willing to pay arent just going to end up wasting their cellular data and time downloading something. Another thing they couldve easily done was just do what some other games do witches have a free version where you can only play a bit of the game but its enough to let you know if you want to pay the subscription rather than doing what they ended up doing, which is just a bad idea.
If you really want to play Waking Mars, and you dont mind playing on desktop instead of mobile, then the same exact game is available on Steam without needing a stupid subscription. Literally the the only difference between them is the controls. Otherwise the steam version shares the exact same story, art and alien ecosystem. That said Waking Mars was a fun game years ago, now it forces new users to get a stupid subscription, while spamming older users begging them to try their dumb service.
We harmte pay 2 win games they sucker you we to thinking the game is free and then you realize its not at leadt set a price on the app.
We really hope the devs add more content. Pleeeeease? Give us another planet or area on the current map to explore? Please please please? But STOP issuing updates just so you can beg us to join your Game Club! We dont know about anyone else but with us it has the opposite effect; its an absolute turn-off. We lowered our rating because you are misusing the update notifications.
Game club is a clunky, money hungry platform. The only free games are 15 minute long trials that are poor quality anyways. We didnt play for long but from what we experienced it was very not worth the subscription you would have to pay.
U get 15 mins of play tome then u have to pay every month.
We wasn’t able to play it due to the GameClub subscription which kept us from playing, which we find to be annoying.
We’ve been reading the reviews but it seems no one else is having the same problem as us…. We were having a lot of fun but then we guess we took a wrong turn and now Im on a black screen flying with our jet pack through open blackness and we’ve been flying back up for over an hour and still havent found our way back. Im totally lost and giving up playing this game because its not fun to keep our finger on the screen for an hour hoping Ill reach solid land again. So confused. What am we missing ??)

This is a great game, but the download takes forever though.
We love the plot and the game mechanics. It’s nice to play a game where your growing things and cultivating life instead of just randomly murdering. There’s purpose, mystery, and it features characters of color.
We cant explain how much we love this game, from its intricate music, to its wonderful graphics design. It made a perfect combination of mental coordination and fun, which overall add up to a great game, if not the best game we’ve played on a mobile device.
We love puzzle games; this has been our favorite game thus far on iOS.

This is the first five star review we’ve given because this is the first game that actually deserved it. Not only does the game look and sound great but the gameplay is really fun and the story is engaging. It’s a well balanced, thoughtful game and is well worth the time and money you will invest in it.
Persistence pays off and failure des not send you back to the beginning. This builds a complex eco system step by step, level by level. Well worth the price for us and we wish they would make another one like it.
We don’t often give reviews but we’ve never played anything quite like this game. You actually feel like you are exploring a new environment. There are a few coordination/speed steps, but it is largely trying things and seeing what happens. We’ve died 3 times, but it doesn’t spoil the game. Great not to have in app purchases. We were sucked in 2 hours ago and just came up for air. We will re rate the game if it does not continue living up to 5 stars, but so far it’s great.
We have played it 3 times and each time was different. There are lots to habitats to find and areas within habitats to discover. It is an addicting game.
We really love this game. Its one of our all time favorite games. We still play this game, but we recently purchased the new iPad Pro. The game doesnt fully fit the new screen size and it seems to crash sometimes.
We feel like we’ve written several reviews about this game, but the weird iOS system throws them to the rubbish heap. For this game, you (currently) have the greatest deal in the iTunes Store. This game is was so effing amazing and intriguing, its literally worth multiples from what its going now. Truly a well done, attention to controls, brilliant storyline, progressive game. Get it, or youre a daft spaz.
Starts off slow but leaves you wanting more, more, more! We would buy a sequel in a heartbeat! We’ve played it several times through and have come up with at least three different endings. Really makes you think. Love, love, love it!
This game is for the thoughtful, thorough person and is not for fast action shooter-type. But also it can be played at the Causal-level where if you die you get returned at where you were, before you got stupid, and with all your supplies. Having died many times we really appreciated this feature. And Hint, hint – try the other jet packs if you get that far…… The reasons we didnt give 5 star are 1. How to save your game is not readily apparent. 2. The fact that there are several possible endings is not obvious either. 3. And finally, there is no provision for changing the gender of the protagonist. But this one game we will keep on our iPad and maybe try our luck at a higher levels. We can say if you make the right choices the ending is great!!!!!!!

The developer KNOWS about the bug where it tells you to investigate the mysterious signal and when you get there nothing happens. They want you to download iexplorer and delete a certain file. It says so on their website yet it gives no further instructions. We have navigated through a bunch of system folders trying to figure this out and we are done! We spent Hours playing this game because we liked it but had we known this would happen AND that rather than the developer fixing it they make the customer try to we would have never EVER spent our time playing this. We’ve played over 50 iOS games from start to finish and no other game has ever left us in a spot with an unfixable bug. The only way to MAYBE fix it is to delete the whole game and start over… No promise that will work though and we wont waste our time any longer. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME UNLESS THE DEVELOPER DECIDES TO FIX THIS!
This stupid game should be free. The gameplay is terrible, controls are clunky, and is completely devoid of a story save some annoying dialogue by stereotypical, bland, annoying characters.
We LOVE this game. That’s why we’ve been willing to completely start the game over from scratch TWICE after bugs kept it crashing every time we tried to enter another chamber on the caverns. But no more. Unless these bugs are fixed, we suppose we won’t get a chance to complete the game. Too bad.
We should have looked at the IGN review for this before buying it. The depth in this game only goes as far down as a muddy puddle. The characters are either annoying or just downright bland. There is absolutely no sense of fun or accomplishment while playing this. Your money is much better spent on something else.
It is one of the best iOS games we’ve played. The story and gameplay had us captive for hours. It has excellent intuitive controls, intriguing story, puzzle and scifi elements, a bit of suspense and amazing atmosphere. To the developers – great job!
This game really grew on us all the way until the end. It has a great design and depth to gameplay. At first we thought it was a little slow but stick with it you will be glad you did. For those of you who like exploration, caves and science not to mention mars this is it. The voices to the characters are nicely done and add positively to the game. Outstanding game dont miss it.
This is one of most enjoyable games we’ve ever played on IPod. From start to finish very engaging, excellent storyline, great mixture of action and strategy and overall well thought out. We very rarely play a game through twice, but we’re enjoying it the second time as much as the first.
We put off buying this app for far too long. Many times we buy into the rave reviews, only to be disappointed. This was not one of those times… Thankfully. We can’t really say anything that hasn’t been said, you truly have to experience this game yourself to understand how utterly captivating it is. We’re 56% through after quite some time spent playing it. We couldn’t put it down, but FINALLY forced myself to stop playing because we want to experience this game more tomorrow. The price is worth it, truly, it’s the type of game you actually want to take your time with just to explore and watch the different species interact with one another. Halfway through the game, and we’re still Seeing and learning new things! Whew. Just DL it. If you have a curious mind, you’ll enjoy this one ;)
It’s a really good game and there is a lot to do. We loved it… Played through a few times.
We just completed this game and finally got all three endings. There isn’t a ton of walk through type material on the internet, so you are really on your own for how to get through it, but that just makes it that much better. It is not a difficult game, but you must think. Overall, we are putting this in our top ten most enjoyable play experiences of all time. What a wonderful, unique game. If they release a sequel we will buy it immediately. Can’t describe how great this game is, just buy it and let it take you in. It’s funny, beautiful, and for voice the voice acting is actually quite good. Just get it, you will not be disappointed. I’d say this is good for a more mature minded audience, ages 13 and up, just because it’s almost like reading a good book… You must be patient with it and thinks lot. Not action packed like most games these days. Great job tiger style games!

Kick but game. In some ways it’s a little like classic Metroid, but a completely different game of coarse. This game has great graphics and a storyline that is very intriguing. If we for some reason lost this game. We get it again!
