Player Experience Highlights

Community Insight:

Im young and we dont have any way of making money quickly so we cant afford Warhammer 40k but this game gives us all the lore and fitting we need.

Very good to burn an hour with fun and engaging gameplay. Some of the menus can be a little cluttered, but item indicators help.

Started this game since launch and knowing how gacha games may be pay to win, we have enjoyed this game without spending a dime but you have to micro manage the grinding between shards and upgrading characters. The live arena is just great since its always changing and you have to re adapt your strategy, also note that its balanced with the rarity limit so wont mater if you get matched with a whale. The best feeling was getting marneus calgar after months of grinding shards. Also the raid tickets are abundant so in couple of minutes you get your daily shards easly. Said that to be efficient you gotta watch the recomended videos, those streamers really give you insight of how to progress faster. Love the devs involvment in the game since updates just roll monthly with new stuff in all aspects of the gameplay, not only new characters.

Ive been a fan Warhammer 40,000 for many years even though Ive never been able to find the time or funds to do the tabletop game. So when we found this game we were very excited to have something close to the physical game experience and in that regard it doesnt disappoint even if you cant control as many units as tabletop play. Like a live action 40k chess match of 5 pieces on a variable sized board of hex tiles you can choose your team to fight enemies each with different abilities, stats, and tactical uses. Collecting and leveling up characters and resources is capped by regenerating energy and tokens of various frequencies and each character level requires an ever increasing level of complexity in resources, experience level, and character shards to continue winning at higher difficulties. The most major stumbling block for us is how hard it can be to build up the Blackstone gem currency the game requires for you to acquire for more energy to play more matches outside of the energy regeneration time (one point every 5 minutes which amounts to an average of one match every 30 minutes for the majority of the campaigns) and to buy certain items in the game store. You can purchase more Blackstone with real money and the game also has a more common gold coin currently but it cant be spent in place of Blackstone (we dont mind spending a little money to support an independent development company like Snowprint, but we still find it frustrating how long progression can be in the game without spending even a little money). Quality of life for the game could use some fine tuning as well but despite that we still find the game very enjoyable and will continue to play hoping the developers continue working to improve upon this game.

This game is great, its just a little too kid friendly. As any Warhammer fan can tell you, 40k is Grimdark, peace is a dream and hope is a lie, this game lacks that desperation that makes Warhammer40k special. Also boobs and gore, needs that too.

Its a mobile strategy game with characters in it. There is, now, little opportunity for later game players to earn new characters or get shards to level them up after they removed daily quests. They werent perfect, but they gave another stream of points towards requisition orders, so now it can take weeks to get another. The game is well supported and reasonably balanced, but it necessitates spending money or grinding excessively to get anywhere. We enjoy it and recommend it, but worry for its future.

Game is fast passed mini xcom in 40k world. The gameplay is simplified and streamlined. Its fun at first but the monetization quickly overshadows the gameplay. Its overly complicated to force a grind which is also locked behind time gates. This is done to get you to pay money. Fine, Im okay with spending a bit on our hobbies. The problem is the pricing. Its absurd.

We were really hoping to play this game but sadly we can even get pass the intro because it freezes or simply wont work.

Great game with fast paced short battles which are great for brief break fun. Really fun to see characters and heroes from the books.

We love this game. We would love to see a Horus Heresy version of it tho.

A little clunky, wish there were more factions to choose from early on. Imperium is kinda eh.

We will give this game 5 stars as soon as we can get nids.

The amount of gear, characters, and miscellaneous items that can be purchased with real money is embarrassing; but the gameplay is quality.

This is a decently fun game. However, you will be tempted to spend money. Based on our experience, this is a waste! Multiple purchases and we have only received basic characters! Do not spend money on this.

The game itself is pretty good, but they are so stingy with rewards it takes a long long time to get a good team. If you arent lucky on an early pull and dont get a good character, then reroll. When we say stingy with rewards, we mean that they give you hardly any in came currency, very few character draw scrolls, and level up materials are incredibly slow to build up. So, unless your patient or have money, play another game.

If you like the cartoony art, cool. Gameplay feels pretty average. Game seems competent though entirely unremarkable. Awful UI navigation though.

Games fun but like usual with these games they push arena and pvp on you but its just another broken system where you spend more time losing because you are matched against players with power ratings 3k higher than yours. We would rate higher but just like most of these games its a broken system they wont spend time on and their solution to you is to buy crates from them. Its annoying really because it cant be that hard to put in a system that blocks you from being matched against players leagues ahead of you. But they dont care just like the rest. Lol fix your game. Dont just respond thanks for the feedback lol but they wont just like the rest of them.

Whats the deal? Its been unable to connect for over a week! We dont want to delete and redownload this game, we dont want to loose our $$ spent or progress. The servers have been down all week, is this a serious issue or something thats going to be fixed soon.

Ill make you a deal. Let us give you $10 and let us play the game as much as we want. We would wager a one time purchase from thousands of people would be more lucrative than snaring a few people who actually fall into the loot box trap.

Garbage servers, nearly impossible to get orbs needed to promote, anything they actually sell is a rip off (typical warhammer). This game is a lemon.

Logged in and our entire profile had been reset. Could not restore by connecting to Game Center. Totally ruined it for us. Unfortunate since the game and universe are super cool.

Money hungry cant level up characters without easing hours of your life or spending 100s.

We are attempting to play, but we are blocked at the first menu intro, as it wont recognize that we have completed the 4 intro missions. Please fix.

We hadnt opened the app for a couple months and when we did all progress was wiped. Im out no thanks. Just because we couldnt do dailys for a while means we start at square one? No thanks. Plus we dont ever want to play as space marines! Why cant a we start as any other faction? Sorry Im out.

To;dr: Play it, but dont put money in it. This is a really fun mobile game. There is a good gotcha element to it and for the most part everything you need is obtainable in the game and there really is no need to spend money. However. Though those first statements are true, getting the energy to play for a little while is the real problem of this game. You can only bank up to about a hundred energy which regenerates at a rate of 1 every 5 minutes. Campaign missions take at 6 for us and we have only been playing a few days. We understand they take more even later, meaning we can only play 17 missions when we log in. Sounds like a lot until you factor in losses and the need to farm for gear for progression. We have logged in and never progressed because rng shut us down or we failed a mission. Why dont the devs want us to play this game? The energy refills get exponentially more expensive with every purchase. Sorry, Im not spending $10 to play for 30 seconds. Its honestly blatantly disrespectful of the player base to charge such exuberant prices just to refill energy. Our only wish is to be able to play this game for more than 3 – 5 minutes at a time.

We saw quite a few low star reviews that are at the top of the page but we downloaded the game regardless. Maybe people had issues back at launch but the game today is fantastic. You can definitely play free to play if you want but spending $20-30 upfront to unlock a huge chunk of the game and a great character sets you down a solid path. Theres plenty to do, they add new characters at least once a month, and all characters have unique abilities. If youre a fan of 40K and want something to play a few minutes here and there, this is definitely worth it.

Gorgeously well done. Join [ONQKS] for daily injections of in game blackstone (60). Use referral code WHY-36-BAT for even more black stones.

Fun game with plenty to do and unlock! We cant wait to see what other characters they add.

Fun to play, resembles Warhammer 40K well. Would recommend to anyone who plays Warhammer.

We love this game. It is probably the best mobile game that we have installed. We would 100% recommend it to everyone.

Looking for good mobile games its hard like REALLY hard and especially hard for 40K ands when basically theres no good mobile games for 40K but this game is perfect for 40K fan.

Solid all around while being fun and addicting its one of the two games we actually enjoy playing. We dont know any of the lore but everything is kick butt.

There is a glitch in the animation for Makhotep shooting in the character gallery.

If you like Warhammer (play video games, or table to war gaming or collect and paint figures) then this game is for you. The well written code makes for a seamless game free from ads unless you pick them.

All is great. But can you change the picture profile from ork to Space marine :)))).

Fun game to pass the time pretty simple game play but the models are cool its worth trying if youre a 40k fan.

The game is fun not very challenging it is free so expect micro transactions and money grabs but you can play for free comfortably.

It functions very well as a turn based rpg but lacks some variety in game play. You can only bring certain units through the campaign so you lose a lot of mixing and matching different factions together. There are also no tyranid units for player use. As a tyranid main this is very upsetting.

If you like 40k even a tiny bit, youll love this game. Download it and have fun. We do have a gripe that we hope is seen by the developers. We think arena is the best game mode in the game. However, the matchmaking system needs some kind of rework. We have been matched with players with a power level 183,000 higher than us. No, thats not a typo. We have a screenshot of our current 15,000 power being matched with 35k, 77k, and 198k. Needless to say, we have no chance to beat any of these opponents. Not sure how this is possible in the Lieutenant league.

Game is fun for a time waster but the amounts they are asking for many items are much to expensive.

We really like this game, especially considering Im not really a fan of mobile games in general. The biggest problem we have though is that this game crashes constantly. Twice in a row now Ive played onslaught mode and its just crashed after 2 minutes. Its even more frustrating because you literally have to wait 16 hours just to get a token to be able to play a round, which disappears when the game crashes. Please fix this, also itd be nice if you didnt have to wait so long to play the only mode where you can get upgrade tokens for your characters. You shouldnt have to wait a week just to upgrade one skill on a character. We know you want to make money and obviously that makes sense, but you need balance. Too much grind puts people off.

Almost there. Still typical of GW in that you have to spend money to get anywhere on this game. They were expensive in the 80s when it was only tabletop, and continue to be to this day even in digital.

Stuffed with micro transactions. Characters needs shard to unlock which is grindy, and the economy is horrendous.

Its pretty fun to start. Our main issue is with the requisition drops. In the beginning we were getting decent stuff but now we get mostly orbs or 5x shards for random characters. No character drops for weeks now. Knowing that Im grinding away for nothing loses its fun after awhile.

Its a great game just can play for long periods with out paying wish they had more side games or more play time.

In this game all actions are going to take spending money. The gameplay is good however, there are three campaigns yet, only one of them is playable without spending thirty dollars on two out of three of the campaigns. To every dream to have high star high level starter characters is a joke unless you pay up with an extremely low chance of getting that exact character. You want ANY character that you dont have not happening unless, you of course spend money. Even if you want to play ranked eventually the enemys characters will literally just be better. In some instances it is skill however in others it is one of our characters getting one shot when they get blinked at. However, the guild system is great, The indomitis campaign near the end is skill based and not pay to play, it is hard yet fun. We would say only play this game if you are willing to spend money.

With how hand holdy the beginning is and for how long youre stuck playing as the ultramarines, we cant recommend this for anyone other than someone that plays the ten thousand terrain chapters. The ads make it sound like you can quickly hop in to play as the other factions but it takes too long for us to care.

This game is fun, but getting material is nearly impossible. Daily payouts and quests give you anywhere between 2-4 premium currency and it takes 3,000 of it to get 10 single draws. Id say Id max at getting 6 black stone per day. That means itd take 500 days of continuous play to get only 10 draws. And to buy it with money costs 25$ minimum. This means progressing is a complete slog and its nearly impossible to get a character you desire without dumping insane amounts of money into the game, more money that any AAA title would cost.

No customer service and the worst competitive matchmaking ever.

It doesnt do anything that hasnt been done before. It starts off by giving you a few characters strictly so you can run through the first campaign but unfortunately near the end of the first campaign youll hit a huge wall. Its not f2p friendly at all and once you hit that wall around mission 70 you either have to start paying or turn the game into something you just play here and there and maybe eventually you get enough character shards to get people strong enough to beat certain missions. The arena is okay. It gives you a random map so youll mix up whether to be aggressive or defensive for the start but thats about the only good thing about the arena. There are many other negatives mostly regarding resources and energy that we wont go into but all in all this game is just a very subpar turned based action game that is clearly just a cash grab using the Warhammer name.
