Community Insight:

Game locks up frequently when collecting prizes. Have to log out and back in to collect them. Really annoying, good enough game to keep us playing even with all the problems.

Gameplay is pretty good overall, devs are often responsive to feedback. But theres one problem thats gone unsolved for years. The servers lose connection if you step away for a minute, or sometimes even before a match starts. Either the app hangs until you force quit, or your match is terminated. Either counts as a loss, so you lose rank or campaign strikes because of it. Ive played multiple other games with similar matchmaking- playing against other players rosters- and none of them have had this problem. We dont understand why this game refuses to fix it- after 3 (maybe 4?) years of it, we suspect they never will. Those other games, we usually make periodic purchases to support the app. This one we spent money on once; theyll have to address this shortcoming to earn any more of our $.

We are the highest level and highest rank but when we do clan fights we always lose. We also get to the dark cells every season. We need help.

The game seems to struggle loading at times or frequently gets errors but otherwise its pretty good. Kinda wish it aligned more with the tabletop game regarding who can be selected as a warlord. Theres definitely improvements that can be made but we have faith theyll continue to improve with constant support.

The gameplay and stuff is epic, but some of the generals are way to strong, somewhat pat to win.

Game has incredible potential for a fan of 40K, the app itself is very sluggish on our iPhone 16 pro max.

Great time sink and we love the models.

Ive been liking Warhammer 49k for a while and we got bored of Tacticus.

Actually a phenomenal game ngl we play it at work, we play pretty much just Tau and we gotta say captain acheran is so annoying to fight but overall 10/10.

Game is fun and holds your interest with new battles and clan action.

It is a good game and we can see it being fun. But it comes with some problems. Especially since you are trying to charge money for certain aspects of the game. With that in mind for the money you want we expect a stable game. Not one that freezes and has to be reset if you play it longer than 10 min. It is way too unstable to even think you can charge money for ANYTHING. Secondly there is no evening of the game play. You can be brand new and the game will put you up against someone who has been playing for months were you have absolutely no chance of wining. What is the point in that? This game can be good if they take the time to do the work and fix it up. Please dont spend money, it is not worth it. Fix the game if you want a better review.

If youre a Warhammer fan, this is a great game! Lots of fun, but temper your expectations. The game is outdated and partially broken. Guessing its close to end of life and trying to squeeze out a few more dollars before closing.

We were not really expecting to like this game as much as we have been. Really simple and easy to learn mechanics but challenging enough to where this game has some nuances to master. Solid addition to the 40k brand.

Played off and on for two years and these devs cant keep the game from going two to three matches in a row without crashing or otherwise not giving you rewards unless you kill the game and log back in. Oh but they can have enough brain power to build pay to win primarchs. At least they finally put in a wildcard system like other tcg apps have. There are other. Better warhammer tcgs on the app store that actually require something other than "give money mean we gud at gaem". Go play those.

The game is great but after every match or so, the game bugs out and forces us to quit the application. After resetting the application, it repeats itself. We want to keep playing but this bug really makes playing the game very frustrating. Fix the bug and this game would be phenomenal.

Fun card game. The battling is fun. Warhammer is awesome as always. But if you want to compete it is money driven. We are currently experiencing bugs that involve us attempting to open packs. If we open one it just loads for ever unless we force close the app. Then we reopen and we have all the loot. But right now its giving us an error code over and over preventing us from playing.

Gameplay is decent. The glitches are simple things and are a bit much. The game will not install AT ALL on any of our android devices. Cant spend money on a game with such little dev care for quality.

Hopped on the game, played a nice and solid looking space marine deck. Fought some guy who most likely spent untold billions on this game, almost won. Then after we lost for the rest of the day by pretty much everyone no matter what that persons deck was. And by the end, we felt like we were reaching a spiritual epiphany that spoke of anger fleeting away into nothing. We love this game so much. Give this to your friend with anger issues.

Solo un jugu una noche y al otro da era imposible de jugar por qu la app no abre. Us encanta warhammer que gran decepcin.

We thought it was another card game. But its got better action than we thought.

Great game, but we have been having login issues. Not to sure why.

Honestly downloaded it yesterday and we actually spent a good amount of time playing it, we enjoyed it even if it we did get matched up against players who had cards way better than ours it just made us learn how to actually use our cards in a way that allowed us to win albeit with extreme difficulty but we still enjoyed till today, there servers are absolutely horrendous we try to log in and itll get stuck loading or wont even load at all, we thought it was our wifi or service at first but we made sure both were good and even then still nothing, am considering getting a refund as we did spend around 12 dollars, we know its not much but we dont want to have 12 dollars spent on a game that stopped working right on our second day of having it! Our opinion is that while the game is fun albeit slightly frustrating when you get into it at first, Id save your money as the servers are unresponsive and or unreliable and until thats fixed we wouldnt go for it, especially as we have seen others with the same complaints from months before.

We would say this game is 5/5 for the entertainment it provides, but its a toss up on wether or not you will get to play as the servers are consistently going down or crashing. Loading in, mid-game, or during rewards after a game, theres no real pattern to it other than you can expect to have to reload the game at least once every time you go to play.

Im huge fan of card games and Warhammer, but this game is meh, not gonna lie its boring…there doesn't seem to be much depth to the actual game, just throw 3 cards out and watch them battle and on top of that the art on the cards isn't great…they all kinda look like a child drew them Theres better options out there for Warhammer card games… This ain't it…we cannot understand how it has a 4.7 rating.

We have been playing this since it came out. It was great, the latest updates and the servers are causing it to crash constantly. Its unplayable now.

We dunno whats with this game specifically because we have no problems with any other game on our phone – we have an iPhone 12 and the stuttering, lag and slowdowns we get with this game is atrocious. It makes us more hesitant to spend money on a game when even just trying to navigate the menus and choose cards to add to our deck feels like pulling teeth. Hoping its just this version or something and that its something being worked on.

The game is pretty good but if you want to actually do good you need to pay money and if not youll die all the time with unfair balancing.

Love the game but dang they dont give you much to get going on your way to win games. Ive tried a multitude of different deck combos but still have lost like 5 in a row on casual.

Maybe fun sometimes on the toilet, otherwise its the typical pay to play PVP garbage, where youll get flattened by anyone spending the tiniest amount of money on the game. Pro: hold events often Con: can never bear the events because unless you are paying for good cards youll get flattened by the AI.

Easy to jump in and play. If youre a collection fan and like the warhammer franchise, youll love this game. Only downside is it tends to freeze and we never have audio. Ive opened a few packs with cards and didnt actually receive them, so always check if you actually got the card.

Great game but this and all games workshop apps need landscape mode. Even force landscape doesnt work.

This game is the best because it is like the real thing and we love it so much. Thank you for the great game play and all of the consistent updates makes the experience so much better.

Issues: When you win in ranked play you only get 45-47 ptsbut when you losethey take away 75 pts. Ive noticed that you are limited to 200pts in most games, but your opponent has more or they are leveled up higher as levels dont affect points. Then when you do win they time block your rewards. Unless you pay to unlock. There are only 2 modes to play and one goes for a whole month. Not a whole lot to do. The big cool cards are way to expensive in point cost to playas most battles seem to be limited to 200pts to take 9 cards but cards like Guilliman are like 100pts by themselves. Yet they want you to spend like 3000 power cells (approx. $25 for one card and a bunch of fluff) That you can hardly use. There are better games out there if your looking for a micro transaction gamesthey want you to buy all these cards yet dont have enough game modes for you to play themneed more guild focused modes.

Seriously. Massive balancing issues made infinitely worse by the matchmaking system. Pay a LOT of money or get rolled over, thats the game, its just gambling with a basic card fighter minigame.

We went ranks 1-15 without laying a dime and had a blast, building our chaos worshipping army and spreading the eight fold path through the galaxy. We finally bought the battle pass for 8 bucks at level 15 and it is well worth it! Not pay to play and very fun and rewarding.

Lets talk about the negatives first before we get into the positives. The biggest issue, anyone and especially the newbies will deal with is how much stronger enemy decks will be. Considering the entire feature of this game is that, as you collect or pay for more cards, your cards get stronger yet the cards cost remains the same. Which we disagree that this is a good idea. So an Imperial warlord knight as an example costs 117 deck points. With starting stats of 164 attack and 50 melee. Thats just the starting point. A maxed card would be around 350 attack and 150 melee yet that 117 deck points remains the same. Is there a proper way to balance just how OP some of these cards can be for their cost verses maxed stat ratio? It also doesnt help that there are a lot of cards that are expensive in terms of deck points yet its stats even when maxed out dont fit the deck point cost. Its a very strange thing that doesnt feel very balanced. Next issue is the player leveling system, its extremely underwhelming for it be a worthwhile feature of the game. So tons of cards are locked behind certain levels, and often for no reason. It only serves to limit the cards the player can use unless they grind, grind and grind more collecting. Oh right, that is done to make the player want to drop a bunch of cash on the game. It is a FTP game after all. When leveling up, you dont even earn anything. You unlock the ability to unlock new cards. Why? Give the player a pack when leveling as a reward, and still keep the unlocked cards feature in the game. That way its a bit more fair and it rewards the player, theyll feel more likely to keep playing. Lastly, the unlocking pack slots. We dont understand why this is even a thing. Only done in the hopes of players dropping tons of cash on plasma to instantly unlock their packs. Why dont you have more of an inventory system for this? Say as you earn packs, you have an inventory filled with your packs. When you want to unlock them, you take them out and put them on the unlock pack slots. But then even if the unlocking pack slots are full, your earned locked packs go into your inventory, which wait to be placed on the slots and unlocked. It rewards the player for playing and beating many other players, and stops a major issue of where the game basically forces the player to stop playing. Which is honestly a terrible mechanic for any game to have. Okay, onto the good stuff. The combat gameplay itself is a lot of fun, reminds us a lot like how early Hearthstone used to play and we like the deck point system thats used. Each faction and warlord has their strengths and quirks with a large variety of abilities and mechanics for all. Absolutely love that. Designing your deck and what ability cards you have and how you allocate your deck points, it just works. This does help keep the gameplay from OP things getting in. You can make a ranked deck with one super strong card but your few deck point left are spent on weak cards to properly balance the game. This just works. Of course, the 400 deck points game mode gets crazy with how many strong cards you can shove in yer deck. Lastly, we love the vast variety of game modes the game offers. While we always have the ranked and unranked gamemodes, there are the campaign modes that switch every few days that offers rewards for progression. Which has been extremely helpful of building our card collection and amassing enough to make good decks. We did find ourselves unable to play many of these campaigns early on as almost always require you to have lots of cards from a certain faction to play. Even if we have lots of cards from the Eldar faction for the campaign, we may not be able to play more than a few games as our cards are too weak to further progress. Really hope they continue to add more variety cards for the factions and new units. So far, Ive spent about $14 so far on the game for the last year Ive been playing. Only because we wanted to, we didnt need to.

Its 40k but cards and its great.

Finally a decent card game set in the compelling grim dark future of 40k.

We dont usually play mobile games but this one has held our attention, been playing about 2 maybe 3 years consistently, login do a couple things build up our decks simple enough to start but enjoyable. Iv played tabletop 40K for over 20 years now and this is a nice way to get our fix on lunch break, or the like.

They have Typhus as a rare body guard card, and some random Lord of Contagion as the warlord for them kind weird in our opinion.

The only problem is that we love the orks but it takes some time to get a good Amy of orks.

The game is super fun but is also super glitchy. The campaign is fun just wish the rewards had alittle bit better cards for all the hard work put in. Over all fun game just wish it didnt crash.

So Im playing a casual match right against a tau using exo suits whatever first card he pulls out is a necron vanguard so Im confused can tau use necrons or not and second of what is this ranking is just starting and im in arena 1 youd think it would be rookies to NOPE veterans and higher ranks are beating us fix this please.

Even if youre not a WH40K player, and dont know much about the universe and lore, Combat Cards is very accessible. Its pretty easy to learn the basics (the tutorials are pretty decent, both in terms of teaching and rewards), and without spending a dime you can amass a respectable collection and begin progressing through the ranks, which creates a positive feedback loop, making it easier to progress as you go without plateauing for long. Best of all, unlike many games of its type, you dont need to spend hours and hours building a well-synergized deck, because at most youll be selecting 9 card, including your Warlord, and there are no separate action or support cards, just combatants, some with special skills/effects, some without. But thats more than enough to give the super-strategic minds out there plenty to think aboutespecially since as you get extra copies of cards, they start powering up. Often its just an HP (Wounds) or Attack Stat bump, but sometimes they get new abilities all together, and all without increasing the base point cost of the card. And there are a wide variety of viable deck types, anything from glass cannons to overwhelming minions to machine gun decks that take a bit to spin up but are all but unstoppable once they build momentum. And if you want to learn the lore, flip the card over and get a bite sized piece that will give you a taste of just how addictive the WH40K universe can be. The game isnt perfect; some factions have a much bigger roster and more options than others and some warlords feel a little underwhelming compared to others. But its a great way to kill anywhere from 10 minutes to a couple of hours, either playing or reading.

Literally unplayable, unknown error constantly prevents us from logging in Epic fail lol.

You can sit around & wait for half an hour and theyll Rene their turn immediately afterwards. They also dont take their turn in interments or pause in-between moves; you can tell they arent human.

Not enough players in the game. You face the same players with the same decks over and over. Everyone uses 4 card decks with huge cards. Makes it impossible for starters to enjoy the game.

All the same issues the game had 4 years ago it still has to this day. None of the changes to the game were quality of life. Literally any change just affects the pocketbook of these greedy people. The game got so bad, the developers removed the internal forum because it was just an echo chamber of people complaining about the devs incompetence. The icing on the cake for all of this is, recently they added a modifier to campaigns that prevents you from using your dead cards. A concept that would be good, if the campaigns werent 30 levels long and at the last 5 levels are literally made for only people with thousands spent could defeat.

Things like Necrons having green bullets for a ranged attack? We think this would be an awesome addition.

We have been playing CC for 3 years. It is a great little game to distract you for a couple of minutes every day. Other the years, the cards of increased in complexity. Some cards actually get redefined. This is harder to do with a paper CCG. We are more of an RPG guy than a competitive card player, so we enjoyed grinding our way through growing our deck. Eventually, we decided to trade money for time, but you certainly dont have to. We love that the card portraits are pictures of the fantastic GW painted minis. We like the asynchronous PvP mode, although there are now occasional synchronous PvP events. However, we dont find these are compelling as say Hearthstone. Playing against the computer is fast, which we like.
