Wizards and Wagons Reviews

Really fun and is great to play for 30 seconds or 3 hrs at a time.

Saw a review about someone who said you couldn’t make money because you had to spend it all on repairs. Figured out after about 15 minutes this is due to his/her lack of intellect. You wouldn’t want to travel aimlessly between cities, with zero thought into your trading, or yeah you would lose money. Try strategize your trades… This is not another tap to win game. Also, the point complained about not being able to tap monsters fast enough… Go upgrade your gear. Then you become stronger… Great game! Please update with user feedback!

We are only an hour or so in but we can see the system could be very fun. Thanks guys!

Fun strategy game based on economic Supply and demand. Exactly what we were hoping it would be.

Great blend of trading and RPG/rogue elements, with a bit of puzzler thrown in just for kicks. Glad we stumbled on this in the App Store!

Go to one town to the next buying and selling good. Each town has supplies and demands. When your traveling from town to town you have to protect your wagon. The better your weapons the less repair your wagon will need, this is the traveling cost. This is not a Free-to-Play, Pay-to-Win game. The small cost of paying to play is worth the cost and far cheaper than any Free-to-Play games we have gotten into. If you find yourself buying and selling items in other games for fun then this is the game for you.

We were looking for something to fill some free time during vacation and found it. This game won’t change your life but won’t waste your time either. Having fun. Nice work.

The game is a little finicky from an information management perspective (Im using a Google Sheet), but its a lot of fun.

A great trading game with a little action and a lot of strategy. Our first save file was a disaster, but once we got the hang of the game things went better. Keep trying, it’s definitely worth it!

Some of the things you want to do in the game are not immediately obvious the first time. We did worse the first time we played and started over snd did better. A bit more in game help or tutorial may have been useful. Traveling between towns requires some reflexes to shoot down enemies so this is not a pure strategy game. Still quite fun. Hint: after you unlock guilds look at town perks and try to unlock them by checking progress. You have to complete certain tasks to open up new continents so talk to the village people and try to do the tasks they give you.

We’ve been playing this game since the week it launched and its a total favorite. Do NOT pass up the chance to play this awesome game.

Good rpg dynamics, interesting trading twist.

Contrary to what some people here think, this game is very simple. Try to earn money while selling stuff, and don’t get destroyed by monsters in the process. We beat the game (and by saying that, we mean by our house back which is the ultimate quest) in around 5 hours, first play through. It was very entertaining. All in all, definitely worth it to buy this game!

Playing this a lot longer than expected. It’s not easy by any means; smart trading strategies required to actually make money. Special quests and monsters keep things interesting for many hours. Graphics and UI are well done, and no bugs encountered to date. This is better than almost everything in the App Store.

This is a fun game that is pretty robust. It scratches the get more gear and go up higher itch without it being too grindy.

One of our favorite lite trading sims of all time was Uncharted Waters: New Horizons for the Super Nintendo. In the decades since that game was released, we have sought a game of similar enjoyment. This game has come close. There are many elements that are similar to UW, including a long list of trade goods, quasi random encounters, cities that you invest in (through quests and commerce), companions, wagons that can be upgraded or swapped, etc. The scale is certainly slimmed down for touch gaming, and there are no country vs country dynamics, but it is still a fun trading adventure in a fantasy setting. Great game!

Challenging, but rewarding. Lots of fun to be had here.

Requires skill to play well. We got crushed our first game, but really enjoyed the challenge of earning our success. A lucrative trade route requires coordinating quests, events, news, and supply/demand. You also need some cargo puzzle packing, and a bit of fast paced combat tapping reflexes! This is our new favorite trading game. We’ve played many in the genre, and few make the day to day trade and travel so compelling.

It gets tedious at a point, and it is as repetitive as the day is long; but we’ve spent money on worse games.

You can trade, fight n make town like you enough to get perks. 30k to buy a house. We make a better fighter then merchant.

As long as you go in expecting to have to restart a few times, you should have fun. A better tutorial would be great, but we dont have much else to complain of. Its cute and worth the $5 not to have to watch ads every other minute, like you do for similar games.

This game is fun trading type game but the some components will make it easier and a more enjoyable experience. 1: if they could give some type of mini map or regular map one can use to see the supply and demand of cities you have already been to would make the trading between cities and quests easier instead of having to scroll around to find each particular city. 2 the weapon switching should be given a customizable function so the player can put it wherever they feel comfortable. As a right hand dominant player it makes it hard to attack and switch weapons with the same hand. We tried using our left hand to attack but it was awkward. 3 for weapons they should have a small video or demonstration to show how they attack and how much damage they do. We had to buy and sell weapons as we tested them wasting quite a bit of money. 4: there should be some type of storage system where you can buy old pieces of equipment in it in case you get an item that can’t be used at that time If these are implemented we think the game would become simpler and easier to play and enjoy.

It is "kinda" fun. But the button mashing required to fight leaves you getting damaged so much that you spend more money repairing than you make in profits from trading. There are quests that you can accept but most of them are for towns you haven’t discovered and there is a time limit or penalty for not reaching the time limit. We guess it is worth the 1.99 when compared to how much longer you could play this than a game at Dave and busters or whatever for the same cost.

The game would be great if not for the odd decision to tap maniacally on the screen every time you travel. Between villages, you will be assaulted by a slew of enemies. They do a great deal of damage to you while you barely make a dent on their health. Its annoying and not very fun.

We’re at a loss as to how this dismal "game" got 4.5 stars. It’s a dreary, button mashing, defend your cart from bandits tedium. What a waste of our $$

To those saying it’s too hard, obviously they are too young to be playing a game like this.

Strategic and enjoyable. Cute time-passer.

Cute art style and a few straight forward mechanics make this relatively deep Econ sim lots of fun.

The game is super addictive but totally unforgiving.

For anyone that has seen the anime "Spice and Wolf," this game reminds us of that system. You sell things so that you can buy more stuff to sell. But there’s a lot to do. Quests, learning the demand/supply curves, and exploring new regions. There are a lot of towns to visit too. We are a fan of the show and love this game. There are no daily rewards to bring you back every day. To some, this is unfortunate. For us, we take it as bitter sweet. We don’t feel compelled to play constantly. It makes it more enjoyable when we do play. Hints: sell items either at a town that has a demand for the item OR at least TWO towns away from where you bought it. The farther you are from the town you purchased it in, the better you will sell USUALLY. ALSO, the Draven wagon show is the best place to buy a wagon. Buy a bigger wagon early on, it pays for itself quickly and indefinitely. Even if you have to take a SMALL loan. Go for high defense once you leave the first continent, the others have brutal beasts.

This game is addictive beyond belief, we highly recommend this to anyone that likes the merchant sim genre. U ride a wagon, buy low and sell high, vast world, gr8 artwork, weapons, upgrades, dragons and cyclops. It doesn’t get any better than this. This game has a somewhat moderate learning curve and demands awareness to the demand and available supply throughout towns, we recommend never venturing beyond the first continent till u have familiarized urself with the mechanics and boy is it awesome once u get the hang of it.

We really want to enjoy this game, like really, the concept is neat, story is humorous, and the merchant stuff isn’t too bad. Here’s the thing, you are attacked ALL the time and the hit to miss ratio on mobs is terrible, you can’t even hit birds with melee but they apparently do more dmg to your wooden wagon than a guy with an axe. Mobs steal your stuff but you can’t hit them after they do apparently and picking up most things is difficult. The learning curve is pretty steep also and having any money for buying weapons, wagons, power ups is pretty much luck. Also the numbers of mobs that co,e at you makes it feel more like a twitch shooter than a merchant game.

We have spent way too much time playing this game to still feel like a beginner. We cannot afford any new wagons or weapons, and despite trying to buy low and sell high, we are finding that we are losing more money than we are making. There’s a difference between a game and being a real merchant. We didn’t pick being a merchant for our profession so don’t make this MerchantSim.

We have re-started this game 4 times and have tried to have a good strategy but the game fights against you all the time. We like the concept but it is not rewarding to play, just sad. Hordes of enemies can steal your cargo in a game that is 100% about cargo. Then leave you with no way to get money and upgrade your wagon. So you don’t feel any progression. Also the Guild quests can be confusing. Limited time to get something and then bring it some where. But no help with a count down timer. Or allowing you to see a map. Pretty lame over all.

Found this game to be a total mess. We’ve played free merchant sim games online that are way more put together than this. Not sure how this got 4.5 stars on Touch Arcade. Will be avoiding their reviews in the future.

We want to like this game. But after 3 hours and 3 restarts, we’ve decided this game is to unforgiving. It cost way to much to repair your wagon, and it’s almost impossible to make a profit even when you buy low and sell high your only going to make a like 200 gold and the cost of repairs to make the trip will be like 150.. Don’t waste your time with this game.

Be sure to pay attention to what villagers say, because you can get absolutely destroyed by monsters if the road is dangerous.

It takes a few starts to get your uber-trader-battle-wagoner groove on, but once you do you can’t stop playing. This game’s got the goods.
