Loved having another Christmas game released! Really puts you in the mood. This game has beautiful graphics, great character voices, morphing objects and a teleporting map. This game is quite challenging, as not all aspects of the game are explained. However, it is definitely worth it in our opinion, as there is no hand holding. One must use the old noodle an clear any cob webs that might be lingering we found the hidden objects fun and somewhat interactive, puzzles were very unique, but on the difficult side (instructions probably could have been explained a little clearer) our recommendation Buy and let’s find and rescue Santa! He really needs our help!!! Thank you Big Fish, for providing us with multiple new games for this Holiday weekend. Much appreciated! (KUDOS FOR Big Fish & developers. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE & Happy Gaming KdBoots.

Good storyline, great graphics, morphing items and collectibles. Lots to do in each scene. And it was a nice length, we are so tired of all the super short games recently! The puzzles ranged in difficulty, but none were really hard. Varied HOS, love the interactive ones. The story is like most others, you are fighting the bad guy, but the way its done here is different, we wont spoil it for you.

This is a great game especially in time for Christmas.

Definitely liked Christmas theme!

Still playing. Game has gorgeous graphics, but the leaping inventory is driving us absolutely crazy! We shouldn’t have to be so frustrated by playing such a beautiful game, however, we remember the first Yuletide also had the same leaping mess. Not sure if we will buy it. 2.5 stars.

We liked most of it up until now. Im on chapter 2 and we never got the Tempest figure. We cant move on. Thinking about restarting but annoyed that we have to try that and hope it doesnt do that again.

Tried the trial but we will not buy. It has a good transporting map. However the hidden object games are tedious and exasperating.

Players: Five-BN has just released "Lost Lands 5: Ice Spell." The bad news is that we only see one released version, which is offered at an outright price of $6.99. These developers are increasingly raising their prices to offset production costs; however, this is one developer that we might be able to make an exception for. Players: Happy Holidays! Thank you all for your invaluable reviews. Don’t write your wish-list of Christmas "prezzies" just yet. Santa might not make it down your chimney on Christmas Eve! Our jolly-faced, white-bearded hero is missing in action; and you set off to find him. Santa’s been kidnapped before, so the storyline doesn’t deliver a refreshing idea. The atmosphere is a divergence from the normal holiday-oriented display that we are accustomed to. It looks as though a tropical island, with palm trees, straw huts, and secret caves, was hit by a snowstorm and everything just magically became a Christmas paradise. However, even though the typical thematic trinkets still embellish the landscape, the visuals are not as overly ornate as most of the other Christmas games. You can customize your settings. The inventory is labeled and interactive; items require assembly. In custom mode, the teleport map renders choppy travel to labeled locations and indicates both available actions and morphing objects. We are given a diary to refresh our minds of the story progression. The HOS are creatively and thematically executed, with embedded puzzle-like elements to spice up gameplay. However, some scenes are revisited–an archaic practice as we are going into 2018. The unique mechanical application of items within some of the HOSs takes some getting used to. You need to drag over an item to open a receiving interactive area, and then apply the item; it’s a bit different from the norm. The puzzles are engaging, and some enable a difficulty option; we like the one in which you move objects around using arrows to fit their silhouette shapes. Some puzzles are multi-layered and advance the storyline. The collectible sets blend in well into background; some are found in the close ups. Gameplay, excluding the puzzles, is a little challenging; and we like it like this. Some tasks require a little more thought about how to complete them as opposed to solely collecting and placing items. Overall, this is a decent game with a few entertaining aspects; however, its overall worth is tarnished by some mechanical flaws: 1. This developer’s inconvenient quirk of programming the inventory to jump up and slowly drop back down is extremely vexing. Furthermore, whenever the items jump up, the labels/names of the items are blocked, leaving us to guess at times what the items are; 2. Transition into cut-scenes is clunky or choppy; and 3. Our touch input receives a sluggish response during inventory interaction, especially when placing items. We rate this game 3 stars, attributing the lower value towards the impeding mechanical glitches. It’s a shame because this game maintained our interest enough due to the beautiful artwork design, as well as the imaginative HOSs and puzzles. However, we could not ignore our frustrations. The free trial is long enough for one to decide whether or not to buy it. Lynx Minx: Definitely the Elven King over Dupin! Happy Holidays! We hope Santa brings you everything you want!

Note to KimTwilight: Thank you so much for your kind words and thoughts, our friend! We wish you the happiest of holidays and we sure hope Santa brings you an Elven King if you dont already have one of those lying around your house! We noticed you updated your review and gave us all the gift of knowledge (new Lost Lands 5) and we dont care if its expensive. Their games are worth it! As far as this game went, we actually enjoyed it for the most part. The part that we absolutely did not enjoy was the maddening leaping inventory and the inability to read what the inventory item actually was. The game actually ran better than we thought it would after reading the negative comments. If you used the correct tool, inventory application was quite smooth and the game doesnt seem as glitchy. Still, it was hard to manipulate at times, so we believe there were some touch screen sensitivity issues. You could customize settings, including whether your map showed collectibles and also the difficulty levels of certain puzzles/games. The storyline certainly was not unique, but Christmas storylines are all pretty much the same anyway: some evil being kidnaps Santa and ruins Christmas, only to be redeemed at the end. There was a diary of sorts and objectives were regularly updated. The graphics were totally magnificent, albeit wintry, but its 83 degrees here so we enjoyed them especially! There was a marked teleport map to transport you instantaneously between locations, and we found that it worked smoothly. At each location you must collect a morphing Christmas stocking, and at certain ones coins. If you do so you can earn extra wallpaper and also bake cookies! Inventory items were interactive and there were complex items to assemble. Unfortunately you couldnt read the labels for the items because of the vexing jumping inventory, which was extremely obnoxious! Daily Magic should know better at this point. You had a helper of sorts: the gift of fire. Depending on the circumstances you had different puzzles associated with this gift as opposed to one repetitious mini-game. The HO scenes had variety and forced you to use your brain, as did the puzzles. Although the instructions were vague or absent at times, we actually enjoyed most of the puzzles and mini-games; there was something for everyone and many really didnt need instructions. Like KimTwilight, we prefer to figure things out and challenge myself a bit. Youd be surprised how well your brain works when you just allow it to do so! In any case, this game wasnt all that difficult and gameplay was mostly linear. This game was a decent length with the bonus adventure included. We found that the game ran smoothly with the exception of the ridiculous leaping inventory items. Hint to all: just dont use the incorrect item! In the HO scenes, when trying to combine inventory items, tap rather than drag; it was much easier that way. We deducted stars for lack of originality, the bouncing inventory and the inability to read the name of the item, and also for words like slide and drag and location names (map markers)staying on the screen for a prolonged period of time (this was downright bizarre)! In addition, we lowered our rating because we found that the gameplay in the bonus adventure was not smooth sailing. It was miserably difficult to extract that item from the crack in the ice cave and you had to do it; there was no skip option, and it hurt our hand! However we did like this game and the totally gorgeous graphics and electrifying cut-scenes. Thank you, BigFish for another beautiful (as opposed to horror-themed) game. UPDATE: New game out, and once again on a Sunday! New Labyrinths! We guess our Christmas will be a good one from BigFish! Thank you! And new Lost Lands! Anyway, Lynxie wishes all reviewers a very Merry Christmas!

We were having a great time playing the game. Graphics, storyline, puzzles-its all good. However, we opened the game to pick up where we left off, yesterday and ALL OF MY PROGRESS (even our profile) is GONE. Not a happy camper…

The graphics arent clean. We get the antique feel of the game but it feels too antiquated. The game play is nice so far, and we havent skipped puzzles yet so we will keep playing.

This game is very temperamental. We feel like Im tripping over hidden objects instead of actually finding them. Puzzles are simple, which doesnt bother us because Im all about HO. Ok for $2.99.

This game takes way too much time figuring out the many scenes to play to the point of not wanting to continue playing.

We bought this game pretty close to Christmas, but didn’t find time to play it then. We thought I’d give it a whirl during this dreariest iOS winter’s, only to find play to be difficult. The story is lame, but we can handle that, it’s the lack of a help button which is making us crazy. This unintuitive game desperately needs one, but that place on the right is empty. We suppose we’ll have to delete and reload, losing our progress. Grrrrrr. The graphics are OK, but the character voices seem forced, not sincere, which makes lame even lamer. Why do writers and producers seem to think anything kids might like needs to be moronic?

Had to delete the game after a very confusing start. Played it for 15 minutes and realized the HINT button was gone….. Fix it!

Choppy game play. Annoyed with the difficulty in interacting with items and the game screen. Not a very exciting story.

Nice game but way to clumsy. Tough just to move around, slow to react.

We love Big Fish adventure games and we’ve purchased several of these with no issues – this one, however, was extremely clunky. The pieces didnt always work properly – the puzzles were frustrating b/c they were simple but youd spend 20 minutes on them just b/c it wasnt working right or the directions were either missing or werent clear. The search/find was also different than their usual ones and it wasnt good. Id suggest skipping this one and getting Nutcracker or one of their other Christmas games.

Skipping most of the mini games. Too difficult and the storyline is boring.

The BN games are written so we poorly lately. We dont mean the graphics, which are good, but the insidious Id stories. We never realized how important that aspect is to the games, until we lost interest on these. Much improvement in technology, you need to hire someone whos is clever at creating the stories. 5-BN does SO MUCH better than BF on stories; they make sense and actually relate to the graphics and develop throughout the game.

Feels very dated and the interface with the game is awful.

This game follows the holiday theme, but there is so much that needs improvement that it is difficult to give it even 2 stars. The inventory is maddening – it jumps off the bar and it is hard to see the name of the item. Puzzles have no instructions, and some just dont work. Touch is terrible. And lastly, the bonus game was ridiculously short.

This game is so frustrating. The touch is god awful. On just about every challenge it would take us 10-15 tries to get the object from inventory to line up exactly where it needed to be to solve the challenge. Either the alignment would be off or the object would jump to the wrong spot. We gave up.

Games have vague or no directions.

Deleted this app. It was very frustrating. First, when trying to access the inventory, the game instead changes your location. Second, at the blocked bridge, the poker in inventory had to be repeatedly accessed and inventory closed after each use. The final straw was that it was impossible to remove the boards and progress. Im not new to these sorts of games and even positioning the poker exactly as pictured in the walkthrough did not remove all the boards and there was no way to continue the game.

The game controls are non-standard. It has weird mini-games AND NO WAY TO SKIP THEM. We just wanted to play a game and relax. We dont know why they would design a game in this way. Strange.

It often gets stuck on a black screen with no way to correct it or it deletes your profile and you have to start the whole game over. Very frustrating.

Wont play after l put player name in. Very disappointing. We had brought this game & wanted to replay. Losing money on some games we brought.

We have been trying to play for a few weeks now.. Everything seems fine when we put our name and everything.. But then when we get so far.. And close it out, we come back to having to start all over again.

Hahahha! We would rate it zero if we could, because we installed it and we cant open, unlock, play, nothing, not one move, zippo! Nice going… (I play on an iPad air, not a dinosaur…)

We have purchased every Yuletide legends games, we have the same problems with the games as other gamers. Items jumping all over the screen, very choppy. When we got to the cube game to get up the mountain, the cubes jump so much, its impossible to turn the arrows on them. Its so frustrating to get that far and not be able to go any farther. Why are all these games like this and will they be fixed? We have purchased almost a hundred games from Big Fish, will have to consider buying anymore if we cant play them.

Okay, we’ve had more than enough and we havent even finished the intro. This game is the most confusing we’ve ever tried. We finally got to a hidden object scene and cant figure out what the heck to do with the items we’ve found! We had to use the hint button to place the tongs. Finding the tongs was a major problem because you can barely identify them as tongs. But that was done, and we moved on. We finally got to the pin, which we found. Where does it go? We have no idea. So, we tried the hint. It shows us the pin. Duh! Where does it go? No suggestion. So, we opened the guide, which we never use. It was more confusing that the HO scene. Terrible game!

The puzzles have no explanation.

Wow, what a waste of money for a game we couldn’t even play. It goes through the intro, then the screen goes black. We have a collections Santa bag, a Xmas help tree, a blank inventory bar and an empty goal book. We have tried deleting the game the downloading it again. Nope didn’t work. Don’t waste your money!

We purchased this game and played it for awhile but when we returned to play it, it had us starting over like we had never played. We deleted it and reinstalled it but it is still doing the same thing. We tried to find out where we could get some help or get a refund but they make it almost impossible to get a hold of the developer. Not happy at all!

Cant even get into game! It allows us to put our name and nothing more!

Game will not load. After the introduction the game freezes.

Front page to enter a name for player. Cannot get beyond that. Glad it wasn’t a prepay game.

The game was going along fine until we got to the cave. We are suppose to use the long hook to move thru the path to get the handle for the shovel, but the hook wont let us follow the path!! So, what am we to do, now, we ask you??? We need to change the rating from 4 stars to 2 stars.

We originally rated this game 3 stars without writing a review because, after our initial log in and play time (which was very choppy), we could not get back into the game. We closed out everything (I dont usually keep much open) on our iPad and tried again with no luck. So, after troubleshooting with everything we knew and still getting a black screen, we finally deleted the game and reloaded it. Yay, everything worked! Kind of. When we tried to play the next day, our profile was gone and we would have had to start all over again. Too much work for a game that wasnt that great to start with. Ill eat the $2.99 and save myself the frustration. Delete.

Wanted to love this game but it was so bumpy with delays that we could not purchase it. Really disappointed.

We never write reviews, but this game was so frustrating that we felt compelled to write one. We’ve played a lot of hidden object games. A lot of them. We enjoy being challenged, but this game was terrible. The instructions were unclear, even our husband who usually can get us out of a jam was left perplexed. Id be tapping the screen and no direction would come up across the top. It was not intuitive at all. Other games give subtle hints or riddles, sort of like breadcrumbs, but not this one. There were no triggers that let you know there were coins to find or morphing objects on any of the screen. Whatever we found was usually by accident while tapping all over the board out of frustration. Truth be told we dont always follow the stories that closely and maybe we should. We really dont think the story would have helped us much in this instance. The mini games were so hard we skipped most of them. Seemed like they were all pretty much the same- restoring some sort of picture by moving by swapping pieces. We truly didnt care enough to visit the guide. Waste of money unlocking the full game. We didnt even play the bonus and we never do that. Couldnt delete this game fast enough.

We were playing this game and now it got a black screen we cant see anything on our iPad. We pay for this game. Can you help please and thank you.
