HOW TO PLAY CLUE: CLASSIC EDITION:
- Three cards are hidden away at the start of the game – these cards are the solution to the crime.
- Each player gets three Clue Cards. These can’t be part of the solution, so they are automatically crossed off your clue sheet.
- Roll the dice and move your token around the board.
- If you choose to enter a room, you can make a suggestion. Pick who you think committed the crime, with what weapon and where.
- Each player then takes it in turn to compare your suggestion against the cards they hold. If they have a card that features in your suggestion, they’ll tell you.
- Cross off any cards other players have shown you and whittle down your list of suspects.
- When you are ready, you can make an accusation! If your accusation is wrong, you’re out of the game!

There seems to be a glitch where you tap to mark a note at the same time the other player shows their card. It just shows up as blank and we cannot make a note of whether the person has the card or not because it is blank. Also, we would REALLY love an option to hide the gold ultimate detective badge because for some reason, players tend to run away whenever we join a room to the point where playing is not as fun. There is no option to hide that badge, so Im sad about that because we keep seeing a message where the host has left a room. Overall, this is one of our favorite apps. We love the different boards and characters.
We love the game but your Easter update this year has caused it to crash every time we try to open it, making it unplayable. We did not expect something like this especially since we paid for it. Ive been waiting for this problem to be fixed ever since. Please advised.
We love this game. Our favorite board game and now our favorite app. Been playing regularly since 2020. We bought all the packs when we downloaded the game and in 3 years NOTHING new has been added. Please add more themes/characters.
The game crashes or stalls way too much for our liking fix the bugs please.
Every once in a while, it takes a few tries to get a game going; sometimes the app wont work for days, indicating, for example, there is no wifi connection, when, in fact, there is. Sometimes games freeze up entirely, or there are significantly long holdups, apparently to reestablish connections. It would be nice if one could enter numbers in various colors. We received a nice email from Marmalade indicating they are working on the freeze-up problem, but we are currently unable to get a game started, as it appears to be frozen in the sign-in process.
We love clue its fun engaging and the suspenseful music really brings it to life but when you put in a lot of players than your going to have to wait till there all done and then do your turn also we really hate the fact that there is so many characters but you have just such little options when you play free but overall the game is very good can you please fix this.
This is the best game Ive ever played online. The graphics and sounds are fantastic. The upgraded version for more play boards and characters is a bit pricy, but you get lost in them if you can afford to upgrade. The game requires skill and also requires a bit of luck, the perfect combination for a really fun, distracting game. The only problem is it keeps locking up for extended periods of time, and sometimes never seems to unfreeze, which is so annoying after one has worked to build the clue card and is close to winning! We hope this can be fixed.
Really enjoy playing the game. The other night asked our daughter if she wanted to play thinking there was a multiplayer setting where you can pass the device like the Monopoly game made by the developer.
Its good but when you are playing, the AI robots will guess the people or weapons that they already have- its frustrating because you think you will have the answer, and they have been hiding that they have the person, even though they have the card. Its frustrating.
We love this game! We can get lost playing it for hours on end. The only reason we did not give 5 stars is because when we play with our friends the game ALWAYS freezes. We dont have this issue with solo play or online play (at least not yet), but it freezes until all friends but one quits the game and the computer takes over. We are still able to click on cards or the clue sheet while frozen, but the game screen never moves or changes to the next persons turn.
We would rate this higher except when the computer players are set to easy they never solve it. There have been a few times when they had all 3 things figured out but never made the final accusation. The next turn we solved it. It would be nice if we were beat once in awhile. Also it would be nice if we could put in some kind of note on the items we have in our hand. We like to keep track of who we have shown cards to and what they are.
App freezes on occasion, also ranking only shows top ten and bottom ten. Wish ranking showed where you rank, and an explanation of how ranking is scored.

Keep having to quit games due to this. Also, when we join a game online 80% of the time the lobby doesnt show our name, but shows multiple open slots waiting for player but never letting us choose a person or ready up. We have to close the app and reopen. We also wish that you would add stats/achievements. Currently we can only see how many games weve played. Id love to see how many Ive won, the average number of turns to get to the answer etc.

We play on iOS and this is the ONLY game we choose to play .. When playing in single player the game works great but when playing online the game is SUPER glitchy. Examples: game takes forever to load, game gets stuck mid play, cant roll dice, cant press continue button to resume play, etc. We understand when playing other people they may click out the game or quit during play which possibly results in why the game functions like this but is there anyway to get an mpc or computer player to load as soon as someone quits or anything else that would help this issue? Been playing the game for a few weeks now and we notice the games freezes alot often than we like especially when playing with other live players. Theres got to be a way to debug this.
We like this game a lot, but online multiplayer is very unstable. 1. Sometimes when joining an online game it will show us rooms that are missing people but we cant join regardless. 2. During online games, sometimes there are random crashes especially when a player leaves after a wrong accusation. This is very frustrating because it is usually close to the end of the game. 3. Other random crashes during online multiplayer.
The game is quite good for single player but does not really work online. Game usually freezes and the only thing to do is quit eventually. We have tried to complete three games online during the Easter event and they all froze.
Overall Id say the game is good. Very classic clue. However Id say at least one a game the online version locks up for a couple of min and sometimes it just locks up and requires the app to be restarted. Which is frustrating when you spent half an hour in a game already Also there should be a way to force people to hit the continue button Lastly Id like to see some sort of reward system based on weekly ranking so you can win the other boards and characters. Maybe a coin reward that could be used in the store.
The app is apparently capable of running without any use, preventing users from playing and showing the same set of weirdos in the available players window over and over again. Shutting off the application or shutting off your phone connection from Wi-Fi and cellular data does nothing to reset the nonsense either.
Freezes more times than not, so if youre playing with friends youll have to start back over. Ive noticed it does it less when not on Wi-Fi so try that. But glitches and freezes way to much to cost $4.99 and $35 for all the locations and people is a little much. With the issues playing its free game quality at best.
Game will randomly lock up in multiplayer with no way to fix it so you just have to leave the game. Happens extremely frequently to the point where you dont even want to try to play.
Bought it for $4 on Google and $5 on Apple for our family of 6 to play together. All downloaded, chose names, did the tutorial. An hour later we finally play our first family game (play with Friends) option. It freezes in the middle of the second round. You cant leave and go back in. Tried to force close app on 1 device to get the game moving again but instead it kicked him out of the game and when tried to join it said lobby is full. So we all just uninstalled it and are waiting for refunds. We were all one the same, very strong Wi-Fi and we all have new /quality devices.
We installed the update today and now the Clue app wont run at all.
Literally so fun. We have gotten so good at it. Recommend it.
Love playing this game. It has a lot of theme boards and many interesting characters. Have been playing for last 2 years now. One recent issue is that some players take forever to play their turn and there is no timeout so feels like you are stuck in the game for a really long time. Sometimes you are unable to join a new game because it has a list of other 6 players and UI keeps spinning forever.
Love this game and have had it forever on our android. We cant seem to figure out how to transfer so we have the full game on Apple. Do we need to pay the $35 again or is there a solution.
This is a great game, love the game either way. Our biggest issue is that if you check something outside the app, even just the time, when youre playing online it with friends, it freezes. Its not much fun if you cant even play with friends because the game keeps freezing. We tried playing with our 2 kids and little cousin, the game kept freezing on us so wed leave and try again. Same thing happened. Otherwise, its a great app.
First off, great version of the classic; Ive bought all the boards and personas because we love it! Just one request, could we please have 4, 5 players option on the multiplayer mode please. Sometimes its nice to play with more than 3 but not with the overwhelming 6. The uneven distribution of cards is not an issue, never was in the board game, and some people like that extra challenge. Please, please make this option available just like the board game, thanks for reading.
We were just playing the board game yesterday but we wanted to be able to play without others so we downloaded this. Its amazing. The list thing to help figure out who where and with what was difficult to figure out at first but we got it! Best game everrr.
The game locks up all of the time. We used to cherish the times we could spend together as a family playing this game online with distance miles apart. It never works consistently anymore super super bored.
We love playing multiplayer but itssad when you have already invested 20 minutes into a game and it freezes.This is happening like every other game we play. If you play that means you paid. Please, as a paying customer, we ask that you fix this issue and allow players to chat or a way to let other players know that they are taking too long scribbling their notes. This really holds the game up, especially when it's 6 players. Thank you.
The game at times freezes and is unable to continue then we have to start over and start a new game. Its frustrating, PLEASE FIX.
The ONLY reason Im not giving this a full 5 rating is because when we attempt to play with our friends, it freezes. Weve had it for a week or so and have attempted about 6 times and weve never been able to get through a single game. Really frustrating considering its $4.99. Would love feedback on this. Thank you.

We are not the type of person to leave reviews, but we have too. Been playing this game for some years now with our partner in long distant relationship to keep us entertained as a couple in which we enjoy playing! We have noticed a couple of things: – Once you select a map sometimes it loads and it doesn't place you with other players. – On game and it freezes in which forces you to logout and start again. – Doesnt let you select a picture or continue on some maps. There some bugs that need to be corrected. The game is pleasant to play just needs a bit ot tweets and turns.
SUPER fun game however it freezes EVERY time near the end. Our family and we downloaded to play and we played about 10 games however never got to finish a full game before it froze Id like our money back.
We love the app overall and the way its set up sometimes we feel like there is AI cause the decisions ppl make are questionable, and the game like to lag here and there overall love it.
It's wonderful- unless you get other players who sit there for 10-15 min or go to lunch or who knows what. It ruins it for everyone and the game doesn't boot them or auto complete.
Always loved clue. Game is fun and enjoyable with friends. That being said, anytime we get a lower battery notification or even checking our notifications, the game will often prevent any progress being made in a friends lobby. This has been the only issue we have encountered, but it does ruin the party aspect of the game.
The game works great for us, usually, except when we play with friends remotely. It seems to crash often in the same spot, seems like a glitch.

Love the game but when Im trying to play with our friends and family it randomly freezes and then the game is ruined. Never had this problem playing a year ago but now thats all it ever does.
We think this implementation of Clue is great. Our only complaint is that we wish we could fill out our clue sheet 100% manually. Im trying to improve our skills for when we play with friends using the classic board game, paper, and pencil. It is confusing an unhelpful that many boxes are filled for us automatically in this game. Developers, please consider making this change to the game.
Clue is our favorite game ever since we were a kid. Its so great to see this digital version with creative themes. We bought the pack with all the expansion boards but we are bummed because it seems like some of the boards glitch or freeze when Im playing with our friends, ultimately ruining/ending the game. We would love to see a pass and play option as well! Fix the glitches and this would be 5 stars for us.
