BridgeBasher – Entertainment Game Review

BridgeBasher is a Entertainment/Simulation/Puzzle game from Jundroo, LLC, first launched in 4th August 2009.
It’s rated 4+ and currently has 45+ ratings on the App Store.

What Makes BridgeBasher Stand Out

Design a bridge and then destroy it. Powered by a sophisticated physics engine, BridgeBasher realistically simulates your bridge reacting to destructive forces in real-time.

Create bridges in seconds through the bridge editor. If you make a mistake, simply tap the Undo button. Zoom in and out by pinching the screen and pan the view using a two finger drag.

BridgeBasher lets you destroy your bridge in a variety of ways:

  • Ball Stack: Stack gigantic balls onto your bridge until it collapses so that you can quickly determine how much weight your bridge can support.

  • Word Test: Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will destroy your bridge. The word test lets you sit back and watch as a series of weighty word-trains cross over your bridge. The word-trains become increasingly heavier, so only the strongest bridges will survive.

  • Joint Weights: The joint weights test gives you the opportunity to apply destructive forces with pinpoint accuracy. Hang them from your bridge's joints and see how many joint weights it takes to bring your bridge down.

While testing, you can see how the strain is distributed across your bridge. Areas that are under immense strain are colored bright red, while other areas are colored green. This allows you to find and fix problem areas in your bridge.

Show your friends how awesome your bridge is or laugh at your dumb your friends' bridges are. BridgeBasher gives you the option to easily e-mail your bridge to whomever you wish.

This Entertainment game offers engaging gameplay and regular updates for mobile players.

Community Insight:

We used to play this game all the time we absolutely love it! But now its not compatible with the new iOS and we cant redownload it. Hoping this review will convince the developer to make it compatible again! Thank you.

Wonderful simple game. Build it. See if it works. Make changes.

Each app this developer makes is better than the last. He really is honest when he says "realistic physics." His games are pleasant to play for a few minutes or for a few hours. Either way, you are in for a treat.

All of these guys games are really fun and very thought thru. Worth the money! ;).

We have had this game several months and we keep coming back to it. The color indicating stress is helpfull.

Has never crashed for us and we've made scores of big bridges. We love it.

It has potential if bug fixes are made.

Fun game has a nice challenge to it. Added retina support finally too.

Great game, but a bit buggy. It crashes often, and when we try to save a design, no text appears and we can't enter in the name. The keyboard looks old and clunky, and it doesn't orient to our phone. Because of this, it covers the save button and the text bar, so we're unable to save.

Crashes when you save bridge with foreign characters.

Needs some serious exceptions handling. You need to fix the problem where big bridges crash. And we'd we make a medium size bridge then start adding weights eventually it will crash. We guess it has something to do with a data type that you have smaller than its suppose to do. Needs to be fixed so it can be playable :D.

When ever we try to do one of the challenges it shuts us out :(.

Please update this app to work with iOS 11.

Please update app to work in iOS 11.

This game is absolutely amazing, IF it worked correctly. IPhone 6+ user. We can't play any modes because the screens screwed up. Also add levels and different materials, and more. Make unlocks and more in depth things.

Crashes any time you build a big bridge to test.

As an Engineer we found ourselves gravitating to building and experimenting with all sorts of designs… We could have fun with a far more complicated version, but Engineers are a different breed.

It really is real life physics. As soon as we got the app, we wasted half an hour building a good bridge. And we did. The comments after each test were basically "amazing". Great app. Great people working in jundroo.

Make bridge play tune watch perfectly simple and very funnny.

You should all like traffic or cars and trucks to test.

It's an amazing game that us and our friends love to play.

Entertaining, got it when it was free. We don't think the designs would work in real life, however.

This game ROCKS!!!!!!.It is fun to play with family we when you get to reck it with the snowballs! This game is AWSOME.

It is frustrating but that makes it addictive.

We love this game it takes us back to the days when we played with the bridge builder software all day long back in drafting class.

Love this app. Never get tired of it.

Fun and helpful or our engineering class.

We recommend this app to everyone.

That kinda' game you play when your bored.

So we have gotten this games several times and deleted it and got it back again. We love this game and have been Builder Of The Day It could use an update because when ever we touch begin test it will go to our home screen. It has happened many times before with other apps fix that and you got our money.

You should make it where you can change the scene instead of just the one.

Eh it's okay; you need to add a test that evolves real world weight. Make the app similar to west point bridge design.

This is what got us hooked on these types of games… Still fun.

This has a sweet physics engine, but if you guys would release another app that shows real 3D bridges that you get to build with different materials. The demo the bridge by placing different explosives at different parts of the bridge. That would be awesome.

So we've been playing this game for a while now and we have created a bridge that can withstand the impossibly heavy. However when impossibly heavy got to the end, the game crashed. So yes they did make it "impossible.".

We played dummy defense for hours. Played this for a minute. Good concept. It's redundant when you look at their other games.

Fun but being limited to just lines and 1 area is dumb.

The comments when it is bad it says rude things so we don't like we suggest not to get it.

No where near as good as Simple Physics or Dummy Defense. Should have multiple levels and use trucks or trains going across, not words. Got past all of it including impossible in about 15 tries. Probably not even worth 99 until they include more levels.

Repetitive same thing over and over.

Someone needs to remind him maybe that quality is what matters, not quantity. Three Apps all essentially the same concept, none of them really polished. The other two are a little better, though dummy defense was obviously released unfinished as was this. Bridge Bash is a cool concept executed horribly. Large and limited nodes, and trying to build ANY sort of actually interesting bridge is impossible. Only one anchor point? Makes no sense, cool concept, poor execution.

We wish we had read more reviews. This game only has ONE level. Not worth the .99. Avoid.

We played it for two days and then today it just started not letting us test our bridge.

Poor interface. Poor game play.

We paid for this app so please kill the in game plugs for your other apps. Really, a menu button linking to your other apps mixed in with the other buttons needed to control the game? Uninstalled.

Dumb! We wasted a long time building our bridge. Every time we try to test it, the app closes.

Not even worth the space it takes up on the iPad.

We hate this game don't get it it stinks.

Fun game until you realize that all you actually have to do is make triangles. Not worth a dollar at all. It was a waste we wish we would have use the money to buy a game that had more than one level. Also it keeps telling us to stop playing and is pretty much a big advertisement for Dummy Defense. (we wish we would have got that instead it looks better!) If you want more than 10 minutes of entertainment then get another app… This gets old real fast.

Wish we can go negative numbers it always crashes trust us not worth it!BOOOOOOO.
