You begin the game as a bright-eyed rock magazine reporter, ready to follow the reunion tour of the Velvet Whisper. The same rock band reached a legendary status decades ago but has since then been on hiatus. Now, they are coming back together and setting off to their first venue. However, on the way there a strange woman appears in the middle of the road. In a blink of an eye, the band as well as yourself is transported to a place called only the Downbeat.
Once in the Downbeat, you will need not only fight to stay alive but also face a seemingly impossible task: freeing the band from this place of gentle horrors where countless other musicians have perished for good! Your time is running out and you feel the mist closing around you.

Was wondering why we hadnt received a newsletter from MadHead games in quite some time and after a quick Google search it appears that over the last year they have transitioned from making mobile games like this one into console and PC games exclusively. Titles like Cadenza, Moonsouls, Donna Brave, Nevertales and many others that we have enjoyed immensely will have no new ones to follow. Makes us very sad to see that happen as these are some of the best mobile games out there. Sad to see you go Madhead really and truly.
We hear a few bars of so much good 70s music! Perfect ambience. Game is too short. Some nice touches though.

This music-themed thrill ride was extremely enjoyable to play. The graphics were beautiful and the cut-scenes were literally electrifying. As usual, you must collect a Mad Head emblem and a morphing object at each location, plus you can collect another morphing object in each HO scene. The HO scenes had a bit of variety, but consisted mainly of word lists. We were entertained by most of the puzzles, although we found them a bit simplistic. We always love the fact that you can examine items from multiple perspectives, and there was a plethora of those items. We were also treated to sliding zoom zones. Inventory usage was innovative, and the tasks were amusing to accomplish. The problem was that the game was extremely brief, inclusive of the bonus adventure. In addition, there was a slight lack of touchscreen sensitivity on the gameplay interface. At the completion of the game, we were unable to access any of the extras, except the treasure hunt (which is bonus gameplay for finding all the Mad Head logos) and the ensuing treasure hunt. Our actual rating will remain at 4 stars. We were disappointed that we werent given the option of replaying the mini-games/puzzles, and for the brevity of the gameplay experience. However, we love this series and would definitely love another sequel. Heres a fun trivia fact: Remember the golden elevator? Did it look familiar to you? The reason is because that particular elevator entrance was the same one as in Maze: Broken Tower. It was the entrance to the elevator which took you up the Gehenna Tower. We hope the developer will correct us if Im wrong, but we have a very good memory. Nenad, please tell us if Im correct! For newer players, that game was amazing and you must purchase it! Happy gaming to everyone.
This was a very good game but a bit short for the price. We did like the interesting HOGs with the different perspectives and viewing through colored lenses. We will rate a 4 for quality, but if it were longer, could have been a 5.
We enjoyed this game we just wish it was longer. The bonus chapter went to fast. We love mad head game a lot but we wish you would bring back dark realm that was a great series.
