It’s rated 12+ and currently has 38+ ratings on the App Store.

What Makes Expelled! Stand Out

  1. Miss Mulligatawney's School for Promising Girls is one of the best boarding schools in England. You are Verity Amersham, here on a scholarship – and today you're going to be expelled for attempted murder.

From the creators of Overboard! and A Highland Song comes a highly replayable detective game with a wicked twist. Can you escape expulsion through fair means – or foul? Can you find the culprit – or someone else to take the blame?

GAMEPLAY

Gossip, lie, steal, manipulate – but don't get caught!

  • Navigate the school day, talk to other characters, sneak around – and try not to get expelled!
  • Your actions will affect other characters, who remember everything they see and hear.
  • Everyone here has secrets – students and teachers alike. Remember, knowledge is power.
  • Unique morality system: the more EVIL you are, the more choices you'll have…

DYNAMIC NARRATIVE CLOCKWORK

  • Next-gen visual novel: go where you want, when you want, and say what you want.
  • Simulated story-world: other characters move and act independently, remembering everything they see and hear – and everything you do.
  • Every minute counts: you have one school day to escape punishment. The clock is always ticking!
  • Who can you trust? Some characters are friendly and some are out to get you. Who will you befriend? Who will you betray?

HIGHLY REPLAYABLE

  • Every run is different, with new leads and new opportunities for mayhem.
  • Avoiding expulsion is just the start. Can you rise to the position of Head Girl?
  • Mysteries abound. Why is the cellar locked? What is your best friend's dark secret?

One play-through lasts about 30 – 45 minutes, but achieving that perfect run will take a lot longer…

Community Insight:

There are so many different adventures based on what you select to do. We love the variety! This one is slightly easier than Overboard! But we still enjoy it a lot.

This is a great game! It has lots of twists and turns, and we like the new things they added that wasnt in Overboard. It was confusing to figure out in the first place, like what we were supposed to do or collect or who we were supposed to talk to. After a couple of runs and a couple of YouTube videos, we got the hang of what to do to access more dialogue and how we wanted to play the game. This game is definitely worth the price, and is great for road trips and more.

Its so good Im obsessed with it but also genuinely so difficult to get the perfect run, we also personally like it much much more than overboard.

Loved every minute of it, ended up going through it twice.

Expelled! Is an amazing follow up to overboard from inkle. While there are a few bugs here and there we believe that Expelled! Has proven to be a great installment in the overboard franchise and is full of great twists and turns. And that Belgium girl, that very very untrustworthy Belgium girl.

When you find a strategy to escape blame and perfectly execute your plan make it through the term, its so satisfying. But its also just the start! There are so many secrets and hidden facets of the game to be discovered; going about our day we couldnt stop thinking of loose ends we could pull and things we could do the next time we played. There are so many ways to play Verity, and your choices really matter! Not just because they affect the way each run goes, but because they change who your Verity actually is, what she wants, and what shes willing to do. The way all your choices and rewinds are contextualized in the narrative is brilliant, and the structure of the game keeps prodding you to try different things and discover new interactions. It takes all the complexity of Overboard! And makes it look like a prototype. Ive never played anything like Expelled.

This is a really fun game.If you like choose your own adventure game this is really good for you.

We loved every minute of this game. It is filled with mystery and chaos and even once you have finished it and the credits roll, you should play again because we promise theres more to discover. With that said, its got a lot of glitches and lapses in logic within the gameplay. Our best example is that you are able to tell one of the teachers about an injury another student has endured that she already knows about and she will run to the nurse as though shes hearing about it for the first time.

Its fun and repeatable, but there are some achievements, such as finding out what Nattie is hiding, escaping the owl, and exploring the maze without getting lost that are impossible to complete. We have reset our game and followed a tutorial step by step but it is still impossible to get the correct option for the owl or get the keys from fifi. Please update your mobile version so we can complete all the missions.

Causes our phone to overheat very quickly.

We haven't played very much yet, but we almost immediately noticed a bug in the school background where multiple facets which were completely black and had odd pixelly edges that clearly weren't intentional. We like the first game, and that ran fine on our hardware (we have an old model) so hopefully the issue gets fixed.

We bought this on the strength of 80 Days (probably our favorite iPhone game). But personally, we find it dull and repetitive. Very quickly the game becomes just guess-and-check, repeating the same steps but seeing what happens if you change one thing. If you liked Overboard, youll love this. Personally, we did not, and hope theyll do another 80 Days soon.

Just started playing, part way in, app updated and Im back to the beginning. Not acceptable! Maybe there are save points, but if Im losing our place at every app update, Im dropping it.

This is soo fun and like a mystery! Its actually challenging and entertaining. We just cant figure out how to frame Fifi yet.
