This is a great app. It hooks up easily and quickly. You can show people your states in the game on the go and unlock cool mini games. It’s a win-win-win.
To us, this is a five star app because it works flawlessly for what we need. It turns our old iPad mini into a touch screen PipBoy which is great at some things, and not so great at others. Either way, for free, it’s a great feature. Plus it’s nice to see a controlling extension for PS4 that includes iOS. This is our first go-around with anything like this for the ps4 and we have to say, it’s worth 5 stars just for allowing us to live-view the map on our iPad.
This is in our opinion hands down the best companion app there is. However there would be one more thing that would make it perfect. Since there is an option to build an Eyebot Pod in game to search for crafting components, ammunition and explosives, it would be amazing if you could send Eyebots in the companion app while away from the game and collect items to use in-game. There are other games that utilize this feature and it would be great for Fallout 4. We know you manually have to send them through the pod and not through the pip boy but still… Maybe?
If only Bethesda would get together with Fitbit or some other exercise application. You could literally take the pit boy and skyrocketed to the moon. It would be amazing if we could keep track and how strong Im getting. By the exercise that we put in. Or if your social skills experience went up by visiting public places. O it would be awesome.
So we had all the same issues, first, join your Xbox and iDevice to same wireless network. Change Smartglass to accept all on Xbox One connections after that (very important). Then we found the missing link. Do the following per some Google-fu and Reddit and the app came right up on our iPad: [SOLVED] we were having the same issues. We talked with Microsoft. This is for the Xbox One but may work with other systems. Just have to find the way to do it. Go to settings > network > advanced settings > alternate MAC address > clear > restart Open the game. Make sure pipboy app on the game is turned on. Press B to open pipboy and connect with app. We did change from LAN to a wireless signal that was not 5G on our router. Don’t know if that had anything to do with it.
We kept on refreshing and refreshing over and over again but it could still not get to our PS4 WHICH WAS RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!!!!!! So please fix that.
Could you make it so we can listen to radio stations on our phone though?

For some reason our phone wont connect to our Xbox. We keep restarting both the game and the app and its just saying connecting. Really cool app though ( Im obsessed with Fallout).

We have loved fallout ever since we got the third game and fallout 4 has become our favorite game of all time and this is really cool also.
At first this app was awful. Now, the app connects very well to our pc game and allows us to use it to do anything the pipboy in game can do.
We love this app but can we make a suggestion of making an offline version of the radios thanks and have a nice day.
We love the app on our phone but we recently got an an Apple Watch and we think that it would be really convenient and cool to have an app for the Apple Watch ( so it could be like a pip boy!)
This app is amazing and has a lot of cool features but it would be cool if they made actual pip boys and you could use your location on the map.

You guys are amazing at making games right? Well, do you think you can make a mobile version of Fallout 4 or Fallout 76? That would be amazing seeming how we’ve been playing Fallout 4 for a few years. Please do this, if you can.
We used to love this app while playing FO4. Used to keep this up on our iPad on map view while traversing the land while playing on the PC. Usually kept us on track. Lol we just wish they had something similar for Fallout 76 as well.
We’ve used many of these remote apps before, but they all have the problem of setting them up never working. However, this takes seconds. All you have to do is open fallout 4 and click connect on the app. You can do anything on your phone, instead of the game, and it helps make it a much more immersive experience. Five stars.
This is an awesome app and has great compatibility with the real pip-boy. Its easy and cool to navigate through the menu in real time and interact with the game. The Diamond City radio of fallout 4 is one of our favorite parts of the game and was upset to see our phone couldnt play any of the songs. We thought if that could be an option whether you were in the fallout 4 game or not, it would be really cool to listen to the radio with the app.

We were thinking u could make it a way to where its not on demo mode but u can still connect it to the pc xbox or ps4 but there could be a mode where its shows your personal stuff like what your wearing what skills and perks u have and what u are carrying like caps how much u are carrying if u put a book bag or anything on it will show whats in it and how much it all weights and where u are at on the real world map that would be even more awesome.
We love the App 100% but we often play Fallout 76 more often than fallout 4 and would LOVE this app to be compatible with FO76 too.
Personally, just the fact that we can play our holotape games offline makes this app awesome. But the map being available just by looking down helps a lot while playing the game. Reading other reviews, people have said they have trouble connecting but we connected with no issues.
We don’t know why all the Xbox users are giving this app one star, it isn’t the apps fault, it works on PC just fine (not sure about PS4). So the app is good, great features, clean functionality, just don’t be bothered by all these console plebs bringing it down.
First, after saying what device you are using, it should ask what fallout game you are playing (unless it knows what fallout game you are playing). Second, if your dead, the Pip-Boy app should said you are dead until the loading screen is there. Third, if you are in offline mode you should be enable to do some things (things should be changing clothes, Changing radio stations, plying stimpax etc), not all things.
Great concept and great app but the in game mini games don’t sync scores with the app scores. Not a big deal but we would like to see our score on both screens.

We think it would be cool if you could make this compatible with fallout 76. Used this with fallout 4 and it came in handy more than you think and with the new difficulty in the fallout world we think this should be brought.
The app works just fine. However if you can’t connect at all you need to open your firewall settings and allow Fallout 4 to be set as private and Public. Then you can connect.
App is fantastic! Especially for new mods that unequip the in game pip boy and cause a giant mess. 5 stars all the way.
