Killer Sudoku by Sudoku.com Review

The game is fun and keeps you alert and thinking but we really dont like that when we get an answer a commercial takes the screen away before we can complete the word.

Nice app to learn sudoku. Worth the little bit it costs to get rid of the commercials.

This helps us regulate so much. Very fun. Our wish list would be that there would be a hint counter to keep track of how many hints youve used so far and maybe a hint limit that you can set for yourself. Thank you!

Keeps our brain working and improves our math skills!

Daily game. App often ignores your first play. By that we mean you click on a cell and then a value only to find the selected cell wasnt accepted and the value is inserted into the wrong cell and as such you have a mistake recorded right off yet its a bug. You have to be very intentional on the first play to make sure the app recognizes your cell selection.

We love this game. We play it every single day and never get bored. However, theres one small issue that bothers us. We dont know if its a glitch or something else but nothing has fixed it, including updating the app and deleting and redownloading it. In the statistics for the Daily Challenge puzzles, it consistently says that we have started one more game than we’ve finished. We’ve looked more than 10 times through each month to find this puzzle that we apparently started but never finished and we have not found it. This bugs us because its bringing down our win rate and also because Id love to finish it if we’ve started it. Hopefully the issue resolves itself or we can get some advice/help because, while small, this issue does drive us a bit nuts. Otherwise, we cannot recommend this game enough!

When we were unable to get the recent upgrade to install and the game wouldnt open without the upgrade, we tried uninstalling then reinstalling the game. Well, we can get into the game now, but we lost several years of game records in the process. Terribly disappointing! The game board has changed with the update, and we find it more difficult visually to play on the new board. That said, Ill keep playing. Dont let the killer scare you off. We actually find these puzzles much faster to solve than traditional sudokus, and its fun to race the clock as we try on each daily puzzle to beat 2:30.

We enjoy playing this game. We would give it 5 stars, if it was not so annoying to switch from and to note mode. We would suggest to make a note pad as a separate pad.

Good game and a nice exercise , but it gets boring. The expert levels dont really get too difficult. There arent any other achievements unless you do the dailies.

Controls can be frustrating: same set of numbers used to enter possibilities as actual guesses; toggle which you intend with another button. Defaults to actual guesses after you pause game, so you must be very diligent to avoid making errors caused by the toggle being in the opposite state from what you think. Numbers close together so you must also be precise to prevent tapping number next to number you intend. And worst of all, not all puzzles have unique solutions. Sometimes get near the end and can verify all remaining squares have two options. Either option for any one square will determine all of the others, but either option will lead to a solution only one of which the game has arbitrarily decided is correct.

Its too hard on eyes because print is not dark enough.

Many times we have to exit the game because the ad doesnt play and Im stuck on a frozen black screen. Also, sometimes the ad wil change the screen from landscape to portrait, forcing us to exit the game then renter it to continue the game in landscape mode. We also have issues with laggy touch response (to number selection or when turning the note on and off) but we dont know if its tied to ads or a spotty WiFi connection or both. Otherwise, we enjoy playing these puzzles.

We used to really enjoy this sudoku. However the ads are so often Im likely to delete it. 3 ads in one 3 minute game? Too many!

We’ve been playing this almost every night as a way to wind down at the end of the day. It helps us take our mind off things & relax. Id otherwise give it 5 stars but recently there have been sooo many more ads. So much so that they pop up in the middle of a puzzle, as many as five times in one puzzle! It breaks our concentration & has the opposite affect of relaxing. Who knew Id miss the days when we had to watch one long ad every puzzle or so. Update: we forgot how frustrating the ads were and re-downloaded the game. We get you need to make money but the ads are EXCESSIVE!! Stopping mid-game breaks any concentration we had & just ruins the whole thing. Im changing it from 3 to 2 stars.

We like to play games to exercise our brain. Its not easy for us. We think its very helpful. But we get ever so frustrated with this hard level, it takes some time for us to get one number, that is not the problem, we enjoy it. But tonight, literally every time we put a number in, there was an ad. It doesnt really matter that theyre not too long for the most part. It interrupts our brain, we have to restart our thinking process, its just not easy. Yes we are exercising our brain, but we like to enjoy it too. This is a different development, since is the first time we tried a hard one. We were enjoying it, but then we realized every single time we put in a number, there was an ad. Completely interrupted our processes. Im really not happy about this. It seems like the a lot of people feel the same. Please do something about that. If you can. We suppose we can do what everybody else is doing, and find a different game to play. Two stars, because we have the fond of memory of being able to concentrate. Until today.

This used to be fun but now theres an add every time you clear a number.

Adds that come in the middle of the game and go on and on! Thats why we quit playing this game!

As little as a month ago, we would have given this game/app 5 stars. We loved it. It was easy to understand the game but the game itself could be very challenging (unlike other sudoku games that we found boring). Switching back and forth between notes and non-notes was also very easy. We also didnt mind the ads. They happened maybe twice during the game and once after finishing a board. The developer has to make money and Im playing for free, so it makes sense there are ads. So why the 1 star review today? Because now the same dang ad pops up every 10 seconds or so. And if youre tapping a square on the game board just as the ad pops up, you double-screen the ad and have to watch it twice. Its almost impossible to play anymore. In fact, we are very close to deleting the app and moving on.

Too many ads and they change the orientation of our screen. Very annoying.

Have to exit the game and restart it. What a joke.

Numbers are too small and LIGHT to see.

We havent played in months after we stopped because of the newly implemented mid-game adds. We told myself to wait for the next update to see if they took it out. Got the app update notice today, downloaded it and played. Same mid-game adds appeared in the fist game. Im deleting the app and will never play it again.

We are simply tired of the ads which promise one thing and gives you another. We dont care for sudoku games. Never have. But we love challenges, math, and word games. SO, when we see the ad that combines all three, Im thinking, what a great way to spend a few minutes of our time each day. The game we were hoping to get was a fill-in-the-letter type game, using math clues, etc. Nope, we get a straight sudoku game. Yes, we read the disclaimer that some elements were not yet developed into the game. Well, heres a suggestion! How about advertising what IS available? Is it because the developers are worried their game, as it plays now, isnt enough to entice downloads? Why not developer the game, and present it as so we dont waste our time downloading then deleting the ap?? Just a thought!

We enjoy this game enough that we upgraded to ad free. We like the daily challenges and the events because they give us a goal. The math clues make this much easier than regular sudoku, and we find we rely on the math more than traditional solving methods.

This used to be an awesome game but now you get puzzles with absolutely no clues so all you can do is guess. But worse than that are ads that apparently have no end. Pages and pages of information that you have no interest in and when you X out, after watching several 30 second segments it tells you that you havent earned your reward. So it was all for nothing. We loved this game before this crap started. Now Im thinking about deleting it.

Amazing game good for lunch breaks.

We love the game! But when a hint is needed it would be great if it would explain what we need to do (like in your regular Suduko app) instead of just giving us a number. Thanks!

We love Sudoku and this twist is awesome.

We like the added dimension of this game has over regular sudoku which we had played for years before we came across this one.

When we first started playing, even the Medium was hard for us. After we learned some of the strategies, even Hard was too easy. Expert, however, took us a dozen boards before we learned how to solve them.

We look forward to playing every day.

One of the great things about this game is the lack of ads. Only one per game. Such a relief after our puzzle app recently succumbed to the greediness with ads every 5 seconds.

We read some of the reviews and Im not sure why people are saying there are too many ads. Only a few throughout each game and the best part about them is that you can skip them all after about 5 seconds and get back to playing quickly. Really wish all games used this mentality when it comes to the ads. We enjoy this version of sudoku because its a bit more challenging. Good job, developers.

Keeps the mind sharp with challenging addition and logic.

Its challenging and fun to play!

Our favorite game!!! Keeps your mind learning fast speed.

Numbers and math ur spoiling me.

We’ve been playing for about a month now and the game is really fun! Our only complaint is the ads. We feel like every time we finish a box we get one. We would rather have multiple ads in a row after we finish the sudoku than have them randomly come up while Im playing. Otherwise we love this game!

Really enjoy playing this game, it makes us think. We wished we started playing this game a long time ago.
